I never liked Tobi much because it reminded me too much of Zinogre, so when Viper became a thing I fell in love with it. It has both poison and para, pretty much ensuring that most players will never gem out two immunities, and it's a lot more aggressive and hits harder than standard Tobi. Plus, it has a much better color scheme.
Viper Tobi is deffinitely one of those monsters that I'd be fine with replacing the original, but I do really like regular tobi's color scheme, that light blue is perfect. In monsters with Zinogre, we should get viper, without, regular tobi.

Naw, I'm replaying IB while waiting for SB TU1, and Velkhana triple carted me twice, while I don't think I failed a single mission in SB, and I've beaten up to furious george.
I was at my mom's house and picked up my old PSP-1000 while I was there, with MHFU was still in it, and I saw my last quest was done in 2011, good times. The save file only had 8 or so hours on it because I let a girl borrow my old PSP back then so she could play Crisis Core, and she sold it to a pawn shop for pizza money and I only found out after it was too late. My old PSP and save file had like 400+ hours on it. So yeah I've been playing FU while waiting for SB TU1 as well.

Just play it again. I started a new file on F1 last year and ended up playing 100 hours before I even realized it. Played a little bit online with hunsterverse, it was a lot of fun. I'm gonna be playing thru the entire series again tbh, concurrently with Sunbreak.
Velkhana was easy. it was Blackveil Vaal that had me fricking seething, like 500 nulberries, 2 carts and literally 49 minutes because I forgot miasma resistance and couldn't even get close half the fight.
Git gud, I love the fight like you wouldn't believe not only because I love the theme of a shit wyvern being such a mad c**t that it can stake out a territory among much bigger threads but it rewards you greatly for knowing the fight well while it punishes face tankers.

Sunbreak is great but I wish the roster had just ONE difficult brute wyvern. I know, World was dinosaur hunter, but I love brachy and jho and glavenus. I would've even been happy with a new one.
For the lance gays out there, I've been mostly doing poke x3 into the shield tackle. I recognize that's not truly optimal and should be doing guard dash into leaping thrust. But was curious how generous are the guard points on guard dash as playing with it it feels like they are non existant which makes me think I'm doing something wrong.
Guard dash is very generous so I don't know what you're doing wrong. I don't even think you stop blocking at any point during guard dash until you do another input.
But you don't end a three poke combo with guard dash>leaping thrust every time. You use either shield tackle, regular counter, or a hop to reset your combo.
I personally don't like shield tackle because I enjoy the mobility guard dash gives, but shield tackle is REALLY good for being able to constantly pressure the monster with attacks.

It's a weird case. Nergigante is a pushover of a fight who lays on the floor and dies, but I love the idea of an elder dragon who's just buff. Magnamalo is the ugliest mainline monster of all time, but he's GREAT to actually fight. So I'd say they just about even out. Velkhana and Malzeno are better than both.
Nerg's issue is the same as Seregios was in 4U, he simply falls over too easily because his weakest spots are guaranteed trips. Needs to be changed so he doesn't fall over guaranteed on every spike break.
I don't mind monster being fast or moving a lot. But when 90% of monster's moves include them charging to other side of the area it gets fricking annoying pretty fast.

I assume if wirebugs don't make it to the next game, great wirebugs will, or what are basically great wirebugs, something to toss you a great length over the map
I hope they keep the wirebugs for movement, but disable them during combat. That would keep the fun way to move around the map without having them affect the combat.

Monsters fall out of afflicted when out of stamina or hit enough, and reenter afflicted when full on stamina. Monsters do their blast attack when their rage runs out.
It sucks because it jobs one more time then comes out of nowhere just to killsteal because whatever furhomosexual in mh team (probably ryozo) couldn't let their mary sue lose

Has anyone bothered datamining sunbreak once it released? I know for the beta it was done and there were a lot of skills that had no information/was not finished. Wondering if that sunbreak release has the gear info for the new TU monsters.
I'm not too familiar with it, but yes there were some datamined weapon descriptions for: sunset colored Espinas (brown probably), a mizu sub, metal raths, and chaotic gore I think?
apex are monsters that originally only appeared in rampages, but were eventually added as regular hunts, basically just stronger variants of a handful of existing monsters, they only exist in high rank
Afflicted are part of Sunbreaks endgame, they all suffer from affliction, cannot be captured, do more damage, have more health and inflict blood blight
I only really found that with the early game monsters
Basically gives the 1 and 2 star monsters fricking speedhacks, then any quests after that are basically the same except with glowing red points

Wroggi has exactly two attacks, being poison spit and shoulder check, so it gets old fast. Every other monster is decently enjoyable in some way and I really hope some of the monster fight designers work on MH6.

I never liked Tobi much because it reminded me too much of Zinogre, so when Viper became a thing I fell in love with it. It has both poison and para, pretty much ensuring that most players will never gem out two immunities, and it's a lot more aggressive and hits harder than standard Tobi. Plus, it has a much better color scheme.
Viper Tobi is deffinitely one of those monsters that I'd be fine with replacing the original, but I do really like regular tobi's color scheme, that light blue is perfect. In monsters with Zinogre, we should get viper, without, regular tobi.

Naw, I'm replaying IB while waiting for SB TU1, and Velkhana triple carted me twice, while I don't think I failed a single mission in SB, and I've beaten up to furious george.

For the lance gays out there, I've been mostly doing poke x3 into the shield tackle. I recognize that's not truly optimal and should be doing guard dash into leaping thrust. But was curious how generous are the guard points on guard dash as playing with it it feels like they are non existant which makes me think I'm doing something wrong.
Guard dash is very generous so I don't know what you're doing wrong. I don't even think you stop blocking at any point during guard dash until you do another input.
But you don't end a three poke combo with guard dash>leaping thrust every time. You use either shield tackle, regular counter, or a hop to reset your combo.
I personally don't like shield tackle because I enjoy the mobility guard dash gives, but shield tackle is REALLY good for being able to constantly pressure the monster with attacks.
In all my 1000+ hours of rise/SB i have only every run into a lance player ONCE and he looked like a total moron. And played like shit too

It's a weird case. Nergigante is a pushover of a fight who lays on the floor and dies, but I love the idea of an elder dragon who's just buff. Magnamalo is the ugliest mainline monster of all time, but he's GREAT to actually fight. So I'd say they just about even out. Velkhana and Malzeno are better than both.
Nerg's issue is the same as Seregios was in 4U, he simply falls over too easily because his weakest spots are guaranteed trips. Needs to be changed so he doesn't fall over guaranteed on every spike break.

Monsters fall out of afflicted when out of stamina or hit enough, and reenter afflicted when full on stamina. Monsters do their blast attack when their rage runs out.

I hated both GU and base Rise because I hated what they did to Lance. My feelings on both games immediately brightened when I finally gave up on Lance and branched out to other weapons. I recommend any MH fan struggling to get into a specific MH game to try out a different weapon.

I'm not too familiar with it, but yes there were some datamined weapon descriptions for: sunset colored Espinas (brown probably), a mizu sub, metal raths, and chaotic gore I think?

apex are monsters that originally only appeared in rampages, but were eventually added as regular hunts, basically just stronger variants of a handful of existing monsters, they only exist in high rank
Afflicted are part of Sunbreaks endgame, they all suffer from affliction, cannot be captured, do more damage, have more health and inflict blood blight
Afflicteds are also faster and a hell of a lot more aggressive
I only really found that with the early game monsters
Basically gives the 1 and 2 star monsters fricking speedhacks, then any quests after that are basically the same except with glowing red points
Rakna's physical attacks definitely got faster in 4* but her fire is about the same
not a subspecies and IB raging brachy is one of the best fights in the series

I think the only monsters I truly don't enjoy fighting in Sunbreak are Kulu and Great Wroggi. Kulu because, while a shitmon, bouncing with purple sharpness off of a dinky rock feels like ass. G. Wroggi has exactly two attacks, being poison spit and shoulder check, so it gets old fast. Every other monster is decently enjoyable in some way and I really hope some of the monster fight designers work on MH6.
