It was a ton of fun, plus it felt good to work with my favorite monsters instead of brutally murdering them for once. I also refuse to swap my Black Diablos out for her upgrade, carried me through the entire game.
The cutscene dissonance in 2 was some of the most jarring shit I've ever seen. Normally RPG cutscene stuff doesn't bother me because obviously the reg characters aren't just dropping meteors, but that dragon kept getting his ass kidnapped and my character kept getting his ass kicked and he just would not USE THE BIG FRICKING WEAPON HE HAD. Nevermind throwing out another monster, I can forgive him pretending he doesn't have a flying monster when he's supposedly falling to his death for the big save, but he just ignored this big honking fricking weapon while these utter nobodies were stopping him and it just took me right out of it.
Other than that it's just a decently polished monster capture game with the only major flaw being the reliance on counter mechanics which turns most games into random rock paper scissors matches.
The graphic in this game is low polly and it does not need stellar fluidity since it is turn based anyway so I would rather play it when laying on couch rather than sitting in front of my pc
>we will never ever get to fight Oltura in mainline even though it's one of the most beautiful Elder Dragons with a god tier battle theme and fun animations >all because the devs are autistic about spinoffs and monster choices
If I could have just one wish, it would be for Capcom to bring this cute monster back in Sunbreak as a very hard super boss Fatalis Equivalent who, true to his fight, either has a shitload of 1hit KO attacks or a gimmick that makes you spend half the fight at 1HP (closer to Magatsu Kyuubi lowering your Max HP to 1 instead of the cowardly ignorable Vaal HP drain gimmick) so you're required to actually learn the fight. The battle field should just have dead Rathalos strewn about like that one quest.
Anyway, been playing GS for the first time since like 4U. This seems pretty unfair, I've been getting like 100-300 damage hits on shitzones using fast Surge Slash combos, this is silly and just makes me wish there was a spear weapon with moves like this instead of a GS that always leads into the charge stuff.
Not good at it yet, I've mostly just been spamming Surge Slash or using the generic Draw Charge playsty.
When the Sunbreak story started talking about giant craters appearing all over the place, I was hoping the cause would be Oltura, even though I knew it was pretty much a 0% chance
He is unironically very hard and only autists will deny it because they fought him so many times their tiny brain can't remember the first times.
He gets easy once you fully understand him, but it takes longer than most monsters because of how dynamic his moves are.
Malzeno, Valstrax and Magnamalo are the three I would put in this category of their own.
Gimme the lowdown: Are you actually expected to just run around and dodge for extended periods of time against mons like this, simply to wait out their enrange/hyper periods? Too many of these shits seem to have modes they go into where they turn their entire body into a hitbox and dash around and any attempt to attack them seems to be completely futile.
Is that the game? 30s-1min of just waiting for some enraged c**t to stop flying about?
No? It just sounds like you're a total shitter
If anything you're encouraged to keep attacking cause if you hit his hellfire parts enough he blows up on himself and doesn't get the chance to use his super move
Furious isnt better, some people just find Rise Rajang easy in general but if you find Rajang to be a hyper coked out mfker than FR is literally that but way worse
Swap out Valstrax for Shagaru. Valstrax is fairly easy to learn and only really needs you to keep rolling horizontally to position away from most of his attacks, including his giant double frick you beam. Shagaru's entire gameplan feels like it's there to relentlessly hound you by keeping most of the arena unsafe then kick you if you're already down or struggling.
nah Shagaru is easy, just roll inside/under him. The only attack that can hit you there is his bodyslam and hipcheck, but if you see it coming you can just roll out
Valstrax > Shagaru > fartcat+
Really? I fricking suck at gaming in general. Hardest game I played was Sekiro and I got walled by the easy version of Owl. Magnamalo was kinda tough but I still beat it my second try, only getting carted once on said run.
I mean I guess? Imo Nergigante was harder.
Shamefully, it actually was Chameleos that triple carted for me for the first time in Rise. I really forget that the guy can sometimes hit like a truck because he looks so non threatening.
I'm a series veteran and LR Village Magnamolo was pretty easy. Sure it's harder than the others but I was still wearing unupgraded base armour and took it down.
Malzeno and Magnamalo are not hard. You just got your impression of them warped because your first experience was the demo where they gave you dog shit gear and limited the amount of time you had.
It's a lot more dynamic now with the mine counter wirebug move. Don't know if you're actually using that though. And ammo choice also matters because sticky will be more boring than spread by default
Yeah I do, vaulting over monsters and planting mines on their body with pin point precision is very satisfying so I'm sticking with that skill, but is it actually good? Because until I started LBG I never see gunners do that, or plant any mine for that matter, so I can't tell if they can't be arsed or if it just suck.
I'm talking about the one where you kind of wirebug up and back while blasting a mine and getting iframes, not the one where you vault and can put the mines on the monster. I never use that one honestly.
Then I can't say, I haven't spent much times with all the skills yet, I like moving around the monster while unloading shit into its face so that's why I'm using the vaulting one, it's pretty handy and fun
Gunner has always been fun and based, what's gay is the people who use it as a DPS/instantly end the hunt stick instead of an actual weapon. This is true of all weapons however, and most people just use the strongest stuff for each weapon without learning how to have fun.
Dodging the monster up close and personal with low defense using HBG or LBG is fun as frick, especially in Solo. I mean HBG still has the reputation of being the HAME machine, but in all honesty it's probably the clunkiest piece of shit with the slowest and shortest rolls in the game.
>filtered from playing with uptight buttholes
Sounds like a win to me. They'll continue having fun while you continue being a victim of your bloated standards.
That's because a lot of people are shitters that don't even understand their own weapon of choice, let alone the shit other people use.
I generally disagree. Maybe the few grounded designs, but MH has always tried to replicate real world things on monsters like crowns or helmets.
GE ventures far more into the strange designs, alternative body shapes and weird attacks than MH ever did. This is more like what a typical GE design is like and it's nothing like Magnamalo down to the core design concepts.
Venus is pretty atypical for God Eater Design. Magnamalo actually straight up looks like an aragami which isn't a bad thing in the slightest. A lot of aragami are pretty cool.
Aragami are less 'homogenised' I suppose, they don't really have a core aesthetic. There's some families, so to speak, but none of the families really resemble each other. Whereas every MH monster in a category at least generally resembles the rest of that category in some way.
LS counter doesn't even work half the time. You can perform the counter properly, hear the cling and see the gleam yet you will still get hit by most attacks.
sunbreak is designed around gigantic lingering hitboxes and spamming easy counters on them
but a lot of them end up lingering for so long that iframes will sometimes run out and the attack will end up hitting the player anyway
Take a point or two of Evade Extender so you don't end your iframe moves inside a lingering hitbox
it's a comfort skill
if you're good enough that you can get away without running it then good for you
but if you're so bad that you need a crutch to make a weapon playable then either get good or stop complaining
You ever think that maybe after 6 gorillion hours of monster hunter you might not be bad at the game anymore?

>Still get my shit pushed in in FU.
bro what? just walk to the fricking side and those old monsters miss every goddamned attack

That’s because FU is shit with shit mechanics, shit hit boxes, shit movements. You could be the greatest MH in the world and still suck at FU because of shit FU is mechanically
I really hope if he ever comes back he gets a total revamp, for such an amazing design it feels like it's wasted on a moveset that is completely trivialized with one skill and is pretty boring and generic to boot. There's a lot that could be done with a zombie dragon that isn't just spewing nulberry check aids everywhere.
Agreed. him using his plague gas to resurrect dead small monsters was great, and the actual aesthetic was super cool. The plague DOT was honestly fine outside of the fricking Arch-tempered version which was so bullshit with the regen that you basically needed his own set to deal with it. Maybe make the gas a double status type where it causes sleep or stun in addition to the degen so you're basically guaranteed to take some damage off it while you're dealing with the other status. I think though if they did more with the necromancy stuff, that'd probably be a good way to add more to it.
All I've ever wanted is Quropeco but title updates are just for subspecies and big-name mons. Maybe we could get another brute wyvern or two in Rise though.
>Maybe we could get another brute wyvern or two in Rise though.
Rise has me fricking hankering for Deviljho, Barroth and fricking Anjanath being the only brutes sucks
resentment + bloodrite + dereliction is a good combo.

But theoretically you'd never have red health with bloodrite? Wouldn't it cancel out?

You lose hp constantly because derelict, the resentment buff uptime is pretty high because of that. And reminder that bloodrite only triggers on broken parts of the monster aswell.

Ill try it out then, cheers anon

To play this build you have to be good at dodging and play agressively because the hp Loss. I recommend you to run level 3 partbreaker aswell, so you can break the monster parts easily to trigger bloodrite.
I dont know whats happening, I'm MR62 and I had to farm some Malzeno Fellwings and I failed him twice. These were the first fails I had in all of SB. All solo. Im gunlancing, and sometimes I try to BB through attacks since it has armor. If im understanding correctly, when Malzeno sucks you, the only way to get out of the followup attack is to wirebug? So I basically can never use the armor on BB because he might be trying to grab me, and if he does, I get grabbed, I lose my wirebugs and the followup kills me, even if I was full hp.
>SA needs Rapid Morph, Evade Extender, Power Prolonger 2/3, Element Up, and Sharpness skills to be even remotely comfy >can't even use the final boss weapon because it kind of sucks for SA >little to no room for damage skills
Making sets for this b***h is fricking moronic.
You probably feel like you're falling short but your damage is perfectly fine even with only 70% crit and crit boost 2, because phial bursts don't even crit anyways
I would argue that prolonger, rapid morph and sharpness skills ARE damage. Especially rapid morph, that thing does more for SA damage than any other skill. Dont feel bad that you dont have room for worse damage skills (and really the only one you need is lvl 5 of your element since phials dont crit)
In the case of Repid Morph at least, there's no argument to be had. It's 100% necessary for SA to reach its maximum potential. You should be morphing a lot, and that skill simply makes it better. The speed increase is nice too.
You really don’t need power prolonged, practice with the counter and you’ll be amped for the entire fight. Between that and the 2 stage axe morph combo you can amp yourself up and build gauge meter quickly without using the switch charge either. SA really only needs EE1/2 and Rapid Morph with everything else being dealers choice.
>solo anomaly monster easily with full Dereliction set >go online for a change of pace >triple cart >one of which is in the first minute or two of fighting
I feel like such a loser...
going from solo/no pet to multiplayer is so jarring at first. not being able to predict the monster is annoying, and at least for me personally, i kinda fall into the trap of not even thinking any more because the monster spends so little time targeting me, that if it decides to attack me more than twice in a row i will just die
Both Khezu and Basarios are shit and annoying, but at least they do no damage and die quickly while staying mostly still. Almudron moves everywhere around the map every second, has shit hitzones and his attacks cover the whole zone while doing a ton of damage.
>Khezu and Basarios are both shit fights that deal no damage and do nothing at all if you're decent at the game >anon admit this >yet somehow this is better than a Monster who doesn't just keel over and actually tries to fight you instead
Fricking what? Outside of the glitching into terrain, Almudron is leagues better than these two.
Anonymous
I'm talking about what monster is more annoying to fight, not who's the strongest.
I still don't understand the absolute hate almudron gets in these threads. Having said that, I can agree he's not very inspiring and ultimately disappointing when he seemed like he'd be interesting before release. He doesn't live up to, at least what I thought he'd be, which was being able to use the mud to change the environment. All you have to do is wirefall over or out of the mud areas and the fight goes back to normal. A smaller almudron could use the mud he makes much like tobi or izuchi use the walls to evade you. Instead almudron puts up mud between you and him and then forgets it's even there.
>Almudron is the worst monster in the game
he's only the worst if you are bad at the game, so most likely a skill issue
Magnamalo is also completely fine, his hellfire is annoying but easy to deal with
Having a monster that counters certain weapons and playstyles is good game design, it encourages you to switch up the way you play and what weapons you use.
Almudron's tail is his biggest weakpoint and he shoves it in your face all the time
Frick, his neutral stance literally has his head and tail right next to eachother
i think almudron's only problem is the same as barioths in that its too fricking big and moves take up all the room in the area also by that logic magma almudron is actually much better
>I like my dog >He's significantly inferior but he can't be matched for moving around the map >I like my cat >He's a fricking healer type and I don't want to replace him and level a new cat
is there a way to change an existing cat's skills? Similarly, is there a reliable (i.e. not waiting around for fricking bug cooldowns) method of going fast?
>is there a way to change an existing cat's skills?
You're in luck, Sunbreak has that very thing. You're outta luck for their level 1 and 20 skills though but 3 out 5 skills being customizable is alright.
I wish they'd bring back Great Maccao. Sure, GU and 4U were my first games, but I think it was one of the best designed beginner monsters. In terms of mechanics/difficulty of course
>even when you can kill them in good time, feel like a fricking eternity
How? you just smack their giant ass heads and until they fall down then smack them some more like any other monster
>Ibushi and Narwa just fricking suck
Not really, they're surprisingly good huge monster fights for MH standards. You aren't a newshitter are you? Look at Lao, Ceadeus or Yama if you want a monster that takes way too long and just sucks from beginning to end
Thread without newshitters and trash takes like that:
I enjoy them individually. They don't fricking stay still, but I guess my bow makes me not feel that so much. It's just the fricking Allmother that sucks ass.
let me guess, you got clobbered by the dragonators?
The first time, yeah, when I didn't realize they were moving outwards. That one was understandable. The rest of the fight was shit.
>speedrunner strat
Is it even faster? You still have to get blown away and recover from that, as opposed to just standing outside the Dragonator circle and then running in as soon as the lightning ball dissipates.
When the attack starts there's a thunderball there to stop you from running to the middle too early, it disappears after a few seconds and the middle becomes safe
GL bros, do you run Guard skills? Do you just Redirection through everything? Maybe just a few points in Guard and Guard Up? Im a little too bad at vidya to consistently Redirect attacks, and just guarding through things is pretty comfy, but its a lot of skill points. Should I keep struggling with Redirection until I learn or embrace guarding? This is all for solo play, online I just go damage unga.
BROOOOOS I CAN'T PLAY RISE IN BED ANY MORE COS I HAD TO RMA MY DECK WHAT THE FRICK DO I DOOOOOOOO i still have it on switch but i just can't fore myself to play that piece of shit any more
Rise Monsters are so trash, they constantly fall over, half the time you're just beating the shit out of them on the ground. Then some other dumb monster always has to come in and do their shitty attacks on the monster your fighting for another trip. The game is so unbalanced that all the combat and movement options they added make it pointless.
Magnamalo is unironically too fair to be hard
Watch it for a while, it has extremely long windups and recovery, and distinct tells unlike gays such as zin or narg
>In this speedrun, we used the new Spirit Release Slash from the Sacred Sheathe Combo. This charged attack is the most powerful move of Longsword and consists of 3 slashes, with the first having a MV of 58, the second 155 and the third 250. However, in order to prevent the monster to flinch or stagger on the first or second hit and so miss the third hit, we used a mod made by Dtlnor (dtlnor#6902) that simply sets the part modifier and the part break modifier of the first and second slash of the Spirit Release Slash from 0.5 to zero, the third hit remained with the same values (1.05). >This "nerf" was incredibly useful to be able to land all the 3 hits more consistently.
You fricking idiots know adrenaline is banned under TA wiki rules right? lmfao no shit an adrenaline run is a minute faster than a no adrenaline run you fricking idiots its a 35% damage increase
Every new game brings in moronic newbies
Had one think slaplance was meta because of a fricking Heroics run, and argued vehemently until he finally posted it
Not the point you stupid fricking subhumans, you're comparing a heroics run (35% damage boost) to a non heroics run. It's obvious that heroics is faster by about a minute. The lance run is made under TA wiki rules which doesn't allow heroics, that's why it's not using heroics and it's a worthless comparison. Not that I expect worldfetuses to understand.
Thinks like heroics and adrenaline are typically banned because they favour some weapons greatly over others (chiefly due to chip damage on things like block/guard counter/tackle).
Anonymous
I think they banned it because it's extremely strong and it would be a lock in every time attack if it wasn't banned, and doing time attacks with heroics kinda sucks because even the slightest damage like getting clipped by the monster turning around kills you. The TA wiki is maintained by japanese people so they have their own frickall definition about what fairness is lmfao.
>lmao dude lance is dogshit 5min hoont? LOOOOOL >now please look at this random youtuber with LS (undoubtly the best weapon in the game since day 1) demolish this monster >wait, my times?? well uhhh it doesnt matter ok??? lance is shit
I don't know if this is actually the case but it feels like you're guaranteed to get the Kittenator at least once per hunt, and if it misses or it doesn't get used after being set up then your cat can just use it again later.
I've just been using Ameowzing Mist because my main cat is an Assist, and having so many potential blights given my slow style is definitely nice. I'll probably get the others once my other pets max out.
How does one play the charge blade?
It feels like a worse lovechild of SNS and S.axe. I like both of them but this ugly fricker gives me none of the love.
I still maintain that Magna is just a God Eater enemy that got lost and wandered into Monster Hunter. It just feels like it shares that same design space, visually and mechanically.
Then you have never played God Eater because they make him look like a Great Jaggi by comparison. MH players would have an aneurysm trying to fight some of these monsters since they're designed for much snappier combat. Not to mention all the complaints about tracking which is like 1000 times worse (better) in GE.
Eh, I'd say Venus is the outlier as GE designs go. The flagships are all more grounded, so they're the more 'known' ones. Yeah, you get stuff like the tank one, but Vajra and similar ones are very much the standard.
>but Vajra and similar ones are very much the standard.
They're not the standard is what I'm saying. Gboro-Gboro, Quadriga, Chi-You, Sariel, Borg Camlann, Hannibal, etc are the standard designs and they're all alien to the MH style. GE takes a more humanoid or mechanical approach to their monster designs, even Kyuubi who's one of the more standard designs has a very distinct artstyle to the textures and stuff. I don't see the connections people always make, mainline MH hasn't reached GE levels and Frontier surpassed it years ago in absurd over the top designs/fights.

Well, at the very least Magna feels like a Vajra offshoot, that's not that weird to say.

Maybe, but Vajra is just a really toned down Zinogre so I don't think it means much to say.

Vajra predates Zinogre, doesn't he? GE1 is before Portable 3rd, I think.

Oh wow I just checked, same year, but MHP3 is December, GE1 is Feb.

I just mean design wise Vajra is a lot less busy than some mainline Monsters to begin with making the whole argument a little pointless, honestly a lot of things MH tries have already been done by GE and better even. Not to say that it copied GE at all, just that MH tries to reign this stuff in while GE just has fun with it. Like Vaal Halzak's entire HP drain gimmick was already done in 2013 where it's actually a threat and the music selection in GE is available for missions instead of locked to Hub only.

I'm not really arguing quality of each series (I didn't like GE3 and sort of got turned off after MH from 4U onwards, only recently picked the series back up with Rise).
I also forgot to say it's really, really, REALLY anime as frick, the cheesy kind that makes you feel like you're reading a shonen straight out of early 2000.
What would work for that best? Vajra is the most iconic, but would feel too same-y to Magna. Hannibal or Quadriga or something... Maybe Marduk or Anubis?
I got my friend to get rise but he’s taken to IG which he’s decent with and LBG which I’m extremely worried that he’ll cart and give out piss poor damage (not a parse gay just don’t want him wondering why he’s taking so long in killing a monster with a gun that requires a lot of understanding to clear quest fast)
Literally stop being a gay baby
Nothing in this game is so hard that you can't carry one moron so long as he doesn't triple cart
Or, go full autist and lose a friend who tolerates you
the morph sweep sucks ass because it doesn't count as a morph attack because it doesn't force you to morph like it did in world. It's actually dogshit and serves no purpose
kinsect slash is pretty good and you can aim it but it uses more stamina if you aim so you need to either eat for fighter, slot constitution or use a dash juice
>spend entire hunt trying to break Valstrax's back >he dies before that happens >no Spineshells from Target Rewards (do get a Dragonsphire, frick you desire sensor) >need 2 of these fricking things
ugh
breaking his back is a fricking pain unless you're using a ranged weapon. Even with IG you always get blocked by the fricking wings and good luck with anything else except maybe beyblade spam dual blades
It took me 20 Valstrax kills to get my Dragonsphires despite breaking the head every time, cutting the tail, getting multiple carver/target reward dango, finding the bird, and running 2 gatherer cats. I used to like the jet engine. Not anymore.
God none of these newbies would have survived older monhuns where sheathing and superman diving was a required skill and necessary meneuver on a ton of monsters.
fricking exactly
the same morons that call you a grumpy boomer because you hate the spiderman weebshit mode in MHrise would throw a fricking tantrum and quit ten minutes into playing any MH series before generations
fricking exactly
the same morons that call you a grumpy boomer because you hate the spiderman weebshit mode in MHrise would throw a fricking tantrum and quit ten minutes into playing any MH series before generations
oh come on, stop being such old gramps. as if sheathing and diving were hard to execute. old MH isnt hard, it just required patience. if youre a patient hunter you would have no trouble adjusting to and beating old monhun. >inb4 blabla
i beat FU when it released.
the point they're arguing is literally that in an era where instant gratification and dopamine hits the absolute vast majority of people would not survive a monster hunter game where you literally have to not to damage and execute a several seconds long maneuver for survival, nothing was ever said about difficulty
Magnamalo? Just dodge fireballs bro. The Hub quest where you have to hunt him is super hard solo until you advance via the Village quests. A 3 star Hub quest is about as hard as a 6 star Village quest
Maybe it’s a trait we all share? I thought it was just me. I basically exclusively played hammer in literally every MH game and the thought of even touching another weapon sounds scary and I feel like I’d have to learn the whole game all over again at this point.
I got a challenge for you Ganker >LR 1* hub quest called "Jumped in the Frost Islands" >target monster is Great Izuchi >it has the lowest hp of any target monster in the game
How fast can you solo kill it? Go hunt it and post a screenshot of your fastest clear time, use any dangos and buddies you want but it has to be a solo hunt and no capturing. See if you can beat my shitty time
im still messing with it but the call of "press b to live" is strong
ive seen people use it as a sort of counter since it has a lot of iframes but i need some time to adjust
It's not really a cheesy weapon, but having one of the two best shields in the game coupled with the fact that you don't have to care about hitzones as much as other weapons means it has an easier time surviving, and the tradeoff is less stopping power compared to other weapons
>MR101 >Beat the true final boss
Im done. Im actually done. I feel like I can put this game down now. I did everything available. There is nothing left for me here. See you Black folk later
Is there a mod for free character edit vouchers? I already used the free one and forgot to change the voice from default. My character looks 50 and sounds 15
>tanned sexy Japanese punk girl layered all set up >Hyena coloured palamute dressed to impress with edgy gear >Salem coloured palico dressed all "a cat is fine too" in the nun outfit >GS with Surge Slash playstyle only equipped
Yep, it's gaming time.
>Consistently gotten a mantle/rare on every returning flagship I’ve fought for the first time in SB
Makes farming so much easier. I almost forgot how nice full sets are.
I'm finally starting to get okay talismans, but have yet to get anything that surpasses my best HR talismans. Best HR talismans are:
CE3 2-1-0
QS3 SR2 2-0-0
WW2 3-2-0
WW3 3-0-0
Best I've gotten so far from MR is WEX2 WW2 0-0-0, which is comparable to the above (worse than some) but not terrible. But I was really expecting more from MR charms.
>play Swaxe through all of base Rise >have fun >try GS for Sunbreak >stop having fun >use Swaxe again >have fun again
GS sucks and fighting these spastic monsters with it is not fun. I don't know how GS players do it.
Run with Nargacuga until MR. It's easy to make, great damage, and was close to meta. For gear just run whatever collection gives you good AB, CE, WEX and CB.
Yeah it is, unless you think doing shit damage is 'a good rotation'.
If you're not using it on cooldown, you need to be using groundsplitter and poke shelling or EC shelling. Not doing slaplance or either of those first two is just plain wrong, end of story.
most certainly not. juiced GL does most damage when it just rotates through its slap > slap > FB combo, especially with reverse blast. youre being very autistic about dps so i assume youre speaking from a speedrun perspective, in which case BB is really only used when you have the opportunity, usually at the beggining of a hunt.
if youre not speaking from a speedrun perspective then i dont know why youre shitting and pissing yourself so much.
I wish people were less obsessed with exclusively aerial IG or tornado slash spam IG and went for the balanced fun route with powder vortex.
Just popping at 2-3 clouds each time for 300-500 damage easily, tetraseal slashing for the up close damage, that new kinsect vault -> kinsect slash x 2 -> diving wyvern for fun when the kinsect's already out.
Can even just fire a pollen shot from afar every now and then for easy cloud setups when monsters move super far.
They made tetraseal faster though, it's better damage than tornado slash in almost all cases now and has the same AA combo loop, except it auto-sends out your kinsect and doesn't require repositioning.
It’s funny because after testing stuff I’m finding the most damage is just mashing A with assist kinsect for tetra slash and comboing it into itself as much as possible. If I’m in a tight spot I use recall kinsect to gtfo and maybe do some kinsect slashes if I’m feeling fancy then go back to grounded blunt unga
>Critical Bombardier: Shelling has a chance to crit >Diffuser: Narrows shelling blast radial, but increases damage 20% >Splitter: Shells have a 50% chance to he fire twice
A man can dream...
>Satan >homosexual join and don't come to fight, just stand near the tent >Come running to carve once we kill it >Kick him just as he's about to shove his knife in
Retreating sheath. If you have guard and guard plus you can tank some chip damage and shield dash through it. Spiral thrusts can also get you out of the way if you're quick enough.
So i just beat Stories 2. What do i think of it?
Oltura was kino.
Is stories 1 and 2 actually good?
Rise disappointed me beibg GU2
Maybe i'll give those a shot instead
Stories 2 is great, you can play the demo or pirate it to check out.
Certainly wouldn't be the first time I pirated a MonHun game. Dos was cool, can't excuse right control stick attacks tho
Thanks, I'll check it out.
Story 1 and 2 is very grindy. If you like slow and grindy games
then you will like it.
I fricking wish rise was GU2. rise is world 2.
Couldn't recommend it enough. Try the demo and see what you think you get a decent feel for it then you will know if you like it or not.
I'd give it a 10/10 if it wasn't for that fricking c**t cat Navirou. Potentially the most painful fictional character to ever been created.
Stories was good and I think I regret buying it on pc instead of switch
why? lmao
PC version is better than switch's in every way.
The graphic in this game is low polly and it does not need stellar fluidity since it is turn based anyway so I would rather play it when laying on couch rather than sitting in front of my pc
sounds like a deck moment
>download region locked multiplayer
Who the frick plays MHS2 multiplayer with randoms lmao
>Who the frick plays MHS2 multiplayer
ftfy, people fricking wish there were randoms to play with
Just change your region bro
>we will never ever get to fight Oltura in mainline even though it's one of the most beautiful Elder Dragons with a god tier battle theme and fun animations
>all because the devs are autistic about spinoffs and monster choices
Oltura was kino, it's really a shame you can't have him as a monstie
I'm surprised actually they haven't added any rideable monsters in Stories.
If anything you're encouraged to keep attacking cause if you hit his hellfire parts enough he blows up on himself and doesn't get the chance to use his super move
so you got a video of you continually attacking him during his enrage without being hit and just tanking it with excess def?
wait until you get to rajang
an actual hyper schizo monster with literally no openings depending on your weapon, mf never stops attacking
good luck
apparently furious is better? not that far yet
Furious isnt better, some people just find Rise Rajang easy in general but if you find Rajang to be a hyper coked out mfker than FR is literally that but way worse
I use GS so yeah I kinda hated him. Funnily enough I didn't find his HR version that bad, but I guess it was because it had actual fricking openings.
Literally one shotted him in LR with DB
Just get good
I've done 400+ quests and not failed a single one. including several hunts against magnamalo. you're just shit.
I'm a series veteran and LR Village Magnamolo was pretty easy. Sure it's harder than the others but I was still wearing unupgraded base armour and took it down.
Malzeno and Magnamalo are not hard. You just got your impression of them warped because your first experience was the demo where they gave you dog shit gear and limited the amount of time you had.
pre nerf barroth was harder
not impossible but he is shit to fight
Just incase you don't know, the Village Quest is a lot easier.
If you are failing the Village Quest then you are bad at vidyagames sorry
You know what, I don't think you're really sorry at all
I tried hub quest alone first and I thought htf is this a low rank 3* quest?
I dont get why he showed up so early in the hub compared to village
3* is as high as low rank goes
Shit. Just want him to stay still so I can whack him with my full charge greatsword
How do I view this? Asking for a friend
If it's a decoration or some shit you can set it in your room.
uhhh hang it up in your room and post screenshots... for research
Still waiting for those screenshots.
you can't actually hang it up in your room, it's just a sell item like eggs
oh yeah, i coomed and then forgot
>try out lbg
>it's not as boring as Ganker make it out to be
I dunno I enjoy the dakka.
Your guild card is forever ruined now.
>filtered from playing with uptight buttholes
Sounds like a win to me. They'll continue having fun while you continue being a victim of your bloated standards.
That's because a lot of people are shitters that don't even understand their own weapon of choice, let alone the shit other people use.
Just stand still and counter with the long sword skill.
Take a point or two of Evade Extender so you don't end your iframe moves inside a lingering hitbox
why do I need a specific set of skills in order to play a weapon at its most basic level? I'd rather not
>why do I need a specific set of skills in order to play a weapon at its most basic level?
tell that to bow players
it's a comfort skill
if you're good enough that you can get away without running it then good for you
but if you're so bad that you need a crutch to make a weapon playable then either get good or stop complaining
because ur bad
Wait till you get to scorned magnamalo
Scorned magnamalo is easy, furious rajang is way harder.
Im actually scared of hunting Furius Rajang solo.
But Furious is easy. Is Scorned that bad?
Yes. Its easy as frick.
no, he's the hardest fight in the game, with a lot of oneshot potential
It just proves how babymode MHRise is. I one shotted this MF and i'm not even good at Monster hunter.
Every single game in the series is babymode, these monsters do no damage if they don't hit you
You ever think that maybe after 6 gorillion hours of monster hunter you might not be bad at the game anymore?
Still get my shit pushed in in FU. The game's have literally gotten easier.
Yeah but OP is having trouble with regular magna
This but the other way around
Furious Rajang is fricking child's play meanwhile Scorned Magnamalo is like a kick in the dick
What monsters are you missing that probably won't end up getting in?
certainly not THAT stupid homosexual
I am the only person in the world who misses najarala
Tribabby here. I miss Great Jaggi.
same. and its not even the fight either seeing as he isn't that much different from wroggi or baggi.. i just think he looks cool
Arch tempered Black persongante.
kirin
need my bawd armor
>fighting Kirin would be much easier now with buffed wide shelling + EC
>she isn't in
Definitely THAT stupid homosexual
Worldbabby here
>Greatest Jagras
>Odogaron
>Vaal Hazak (not Arch Tempered though frick that gay)
>Vaal Hazak
Nergigante and vaal hazak.
Big Al.
I miss Duramboros.
Same. He's a big dumb idiot of a monster and I loved fighting him.
We've had dragon sex bring back bug sex!
I want a new bug monster
Now that they are officially bringing in frontier monsters they got some neat ones over there

Lagiacrus is all but confirmed the second they work out the kinks.
>>no lagi
No water either, dont gimp a monster moveset like that
bro rathalos is a borderline different monster in rise M rank than tri, they can give it new moves
Garuga world was so shit I think he's better out of Rise.
how is he weaker than mizutsune in master rank?
mtf is rank while mitsu is rank 4 wtf
Wanna try typing that out again?
>want to try out cool meme armor sets like furious and dereliction
>too addicted to bloodrite
how do I wean myself off of blood
Simple, use dereliction with bloodrite.
Give me a set
Shagaru Head
Malzeno Mail
Archfiend Arms
Malzeno Waist
Archfiend Legs
Gives Lv3 Blood Rite, Lv3 Dereliction and Lv1 Bloodlust with Lv2 Coalescence and a bunch of other damage skills
Just don't forget to switch to blue scroll the moment you start the hunt or you won't get the attack boost
What other damage skills?
Get 5 Resentment and AB 7 and that's pretty much it.
>resentment with bloodrite
Um?
resentment + bloodrite + dereliction is a good combo.
I recommend you to run level 3 partbreaker aswell, so you can break the monster parts easily to trigger bloodrite.
why would you go for lvl 3 bloodrite instead of lvl 2 bloodlust
swap out the chest and its a much better set
I dont know whats happening, I'm MR62 and I had to farm some Malzeno Fellwings and I failed him twice. These were the first fails I had in all of SB. All solo. Im gunlancing, and sometimes I try to BB through attacks since it has armor. If im understanding correctly, when Malzeno sucks you, the only way to get out of the followup attack is to wirebug? So I basically can never use the armor on BB because he might be trying to grab me, and if he does, I get grabbed, I lose my wirebugs and the followup kills me, even if I was full hp.
Bro your Wirebug Whisperer 3 and Summon Endemic Life.
>HBG an afflicted
>30 minutes
>HBG the same afflicted but with this new fangled magic circle the added

Hmm... Very nice. Very nice.
Hell hath no fury like a Magnamalo scorned
>SA needs Rapid Morph, Evade Extender, Power Prolonger 2/3, Element Up, and Sharpness skills to be even remotely comfy
>can't even use the final boss weapon because it kind of sucks for SA
>little to no room for damage skills
Making sets for this b***h is fricking moronic.
You probably feel like you're falling short but your damage is perfectly fine even with only 70% crit and crit boost 2, because phial bursts don't even crit anyways
>Power Prolonger
Absolutely not. Counter the nanosecond you lose amp.
How? He’s in GU and World
Nah b***h. You lose too much uptime, counter or no.
Anon, I'm sorry but this is a legitimate skill issue
You can counter for insta amp literally 1 second after losing it
>knock monster down
>lose amp
>????????????????????????????????????
>monster gets tired and just stands around
>lose amp
>????????????????????????????????????
>counter attack for amp
>monster changes area
>you lose amp by the time you get back to it
>????????????????????????????????????
I would argue that prolonger, rapid morph and sharpness skills ARE damage. Especially rapid morph, that thing does more for SA damage than any other skill. Dont feel bad that you dont have room for worse damage skills (and really the only one you need is lvl 5 of your element since phials dont crit)
In the case of Repid Morph at least, there's no argument to be had. It's 100% necessary for SA to reach its maximum potential. You should be morphing a lot, and that skill simply makes it better. The speed increase is nice too.
Weird way of replying "I agree" but sure
It's called a discussion, anon.
I thought you were trying to disagree in bad faith. Its hard in these threads sometimes. My bad
GS, CB, or SA?
GS and SA
Mag is nothing compared to the cancer of barioth and narga. MR Teostra is pure nightmare incarnate as well.
MR barioth and narga are ez as shit
i hated HR barioth but for some reason like him now
always loved narga tho. best monster
Teostra is so fun now. I skipped world, but it's so cool to see him running around fluidly.
>MR Teostra is pure nightmare incarnate
Are we playing the same game?
TFW (you) are the triple cart.
It do be like that sometime.
>solo anomaly monster easily with full Dereliction set
>go online for a change of pace
>triple cart
>one of which is in the first minute or two of fighting
I feel like such a loser...
going from solo/no pet to multiplayer is so jarring at first. not being able to predict the monster is annoying, and at least for me personally, i kinda fall into the trap of not even thinking any more because the monster spends so little time targeting me, that if it decides to attack me more than twice in a row i will just die
im such a STUPID moron
Almudron is the worst monster in the game, Magnamalo comes second
Biggusbaddus is my most hunted, and is honestly fantastic in every way except appearance
>Almudron is the worst monster in the game
This is impossible since Khezu is in this game.
>Magnamalo comes second
Impossible, Magnamalo is actually fun to fight even if easy.
wrong and wrong
Counter argument: Basarios exists.
>play GL
>Basarios is a comfy fight
you just blow your entire load into him and you ignore almost all of his shitzones so he goes down easy
Both Khezu and Basarios are shit and annoying, but at least they do no damage and die quickly while staying mostly still. Almudron moves everywhere around the map every second, has shit hitzones and his attacks cover the whole zone while doing a ton of damage.
>Khezu and Basarios are both shit fights that deal no damage and do nothing at all if you're decent at the game
>anon admit this
>yet somehow this is better than a Monster who doesn't just keel over and actually tries to fight you instead
Fricking what? Outside of the glitching into terrain, Almudron is leagues better than these two.
Magnamalo is also completely fine, his hellfire is annoying but easy to deal with
muh skill issue
I bet you complained about alatreon and fatalis
Justify Almudron's big stupid tail and refusal to let you near his head
>refusal to let you near his head
maybe he wants to stop you from hitting it?
He's the monster. I'm the hunter. He should quit b***hing and deal with it
sounds like you are the one who needs to quit b***hing and deal with it, you are the hunter, are you gonna hunt his head or complain bro?
Having a monster that counters certain weapons and playstyles is good game design, it encourages you to switch up the way you play and what weapons you use.
Almudron's tail is his biggest weakpoint and he shoves it in your face all the time
Frick, his neutral stance literally has his head and tail right next to eachother
>bring back leviathans
>but almudron was made
should have kept the skeleton gone
HR Almudron is litty unlike MR Assholdron with fricked up moves and insane size glitching thru the terrain
i think almudron's only problem is the same as barioths in that its too fricking big and moves take up all the room in the area also by that logic magma almudron is actually much better
Magma Almudron committed the separate crime of being a lamer Agnaktor
Clack-clack is never coming back-back.
yea but Magma is worthless, shit armor, shit weapons, no reason to hunt him.
>shit weapons
That's straight up wrong but alright
reminder to drop your stupid, smelly dog and bring along two of your trusty palicos for maximum support and loot!
This but two attack palicos. Double the firepower, faster the hunt
how much damage do attack palicos actually do? in comparison to non-attack palicos?
More than other Palicos, but less than Palamutes.
>I like my dog
>He's significantly inferior but he can't be matched for moving around the map
>I like my cat
>He's a fricking healer type and I don't want to replace him and level a new cat
is there a way to change an existing cat's skills? Similarly, is there a reliable (i.e. not waiting around for fricking bug cooldowns) method of going fast?
Use Buddy Recon to get an extra fast travel point on the map.
>is there a way to change an existing cat's skills?
You're in luck, Sunbreak has that very thing. You're outta luck for their level 1 and 20 skills though but 3 out 5 skills being customizable is alright.
>village quest Khezu was a filter
KNEEL
>why is this big axe so fricking slow
every time
I wish they'd bring back Great Maccao. Sure, GU and 4U were my first games, but I think it was one of the best designed beginner monsters. In terms of mechanics/difficulty of course
I probably should have mentioned it filtered me to the point I ran out of money. Its a good casual filter
Captcha WXXN TM
>insecure about getting bodied by a shitmon
>calls everyone else insecure

So much better than Nergigante it can't even be put in words
What the frick is Narwa the Allmother's problem? Almost lost a hunt for the first time against this b***h.
its the worst monster they have ever made
a real shitmon
Ibushi and Narwa just fricking suck and even when you can kill them in good time, feel like a fricking eternity
>even when you can kill them in good time, feel like a fricking eternity
How? you just smack their giant ass heads and until they fall down then smack them some more like any other monster
>smacking the head
>not giving Narwa a good session of CBT
>Ibushi and Narwa just fricking suck
Not really, they're surprisingly good huge monster fights for MH standards. You aren't a newshitter are you? Look at Lao, Ceadeus or Yama if you want a monster that takes way too long and just sucks from beginning to end
Thread without newshitters and trash takes like that:
>not mentioning zorah the worst of them all
>thread wars
Peak newbie.
eat my ass im staying here
trying way too hard
>go to MY thread instead because I made it
>Not a Ceadeus fan
ngmi
I enjoy them individually. They don't fricking stay still, but I guess my bow makes me not feel that so much. It's just the fricking Allmother that sucks ass.
The first time, yeah, when I didn't realize they were moving outwards. That one was understandable. The rest of the fight was shit.
let me guess, you got clobbered by the dragonators?
no i just used a wirebug and stood in the air on the corner
its still a shit fight
>no i just used a wirebug and stood in the air on the corner
you literally got filtered
i made my point
i am not taking part in that homosexualry show she was trying to pull
i even faced the wall during the entire ordeal
Why not...just walk between them?
too complicated for Ganker, they'd rather spend that entire attack cowering in the corner then complain that the fight wasn't fun for some reason
why didnt you walk through them is what I was asking
because he stole the epik speedrunner strat that he saw on reddit
hes even on LS
>"recognize that from reddit!"
>"longsword BAD"
at least make an attempt to hide that you're a redditor, holy shit
>recognize that from reddit
lmao did I actually get it right? i was playing green hahaha
moron
>literally stated in HIS post that it's apparently on reddit
>accuses me of being the one who recognized it;s from reddit
And he's an ESL, inedible.
>inedible
post your wr speedruns khezu you surely got trigged over that call out
post hand, troony
do you wanna see with im edible honey?
Go back
>speedrunner strat
Is it even faster? You still have to get blown away and recover from that, as opposed to just standing outside the Dragonator circle and then running in as soon as the lightning ball dissipates.
No, speedrunners just run in since it's faster. It's no use trying to make sense of a redditor's logic
>random speedrunner and ls seethe
rent free
>redditor seethe
oh Ive just been farcastering whenever this happens
wow i always thought there was some reason not to go into the middle, like an explosion or something
When the attack starts there's a thunderball there to stop you from running to the middle too early, it disappears after a few seconds and the middle becomes safe
easily one of the best final bosses in the series, I don't understand why people are struggling with her
why does everyone hate Magnamalo?
Shield tackle is love
GL bros, do you run Guard skills? Do you just Redirection through everything? Maybe just a few points in Guard and Guard Up? Im a little too bad at vidya to consistently Redirect attacks, and just guarding through things is pretty comfy, but its a lot of skill points. Should I keep struggling with Redirection until I learn or embrace guarding? This is all for solo play, online I just go damage unga.
BROOOOOS I CAN'T PLAY RISE IN BED ANY MORE COS I HAD TO RMA MY DECK WHAT THE FRICK DO I DOOOOOOOO
i still have it on switch but i just can't fore myself to play that piece of shit any more
a
Anybody know why Spiral Spin for Dual Blades doesn't really work half the time? Or is it really just hitbox frickery?
it only works on weak spots
so heads, tails, claws maybe
only on weakpoints, apparently
If only works if it connects with weak spots, i.e. hitzone of 45 or better.
What MR is Gore? When do I get to see my boy?
he's a quest in 4
Rise Monsters are so trash, they constantly fall over, half the time you're just beating the shit out of them on the ground.
Peppo (Team Darkside) hates Sunbreak's endgame.
not even the rest of TDS agrees with this cheating gay so why should I care kek
Peppo is the best TDS player so the other gay's opinions are irrelevant
>cheating gay
Cope
So he just did the devs job and fixed the damn game the game and you claim he's cheating?
Take your meds

Guess it's time to stop playing now.

I don’t give a shit about Salto.
i thought you guys said lance was shit??
Lol
>retorts with cheatsword

I feel sorry for you
You fricking idiots know adrenaline is banned under TA wiki rules right? lmfao no shit an adrenaline run is a minute faster than a no adrenaline run you fricking idiots its a 35% damage increase
Every new game brings in moronic newbies
Had one think slaplance was meta because of a fricking Heroics run, and argued vehemently until he finally posted it
i thought you guys were ironically arguing speedruns, lol this is for real? there are speedgays in this very thread? how humorous
>thinking TAwiki means frickall
lmaoing at you're life
Not the point you stupid fricking subhumans, you're comparing a heroics run (35% damage boost) to a non heroics run. It's obvious that heroics is faster by about a minute. The lance run is made under TA wiki rules which doesn't allow heroics, that's why it's not using heroics and it's a worthless comparison. Not that I expect worldfetuses to understand.
Why is Heroics banned?
Thinks like heroics and adrenaline are typically banned because they favour some weapons greatly over others (chiefly due to chip damage on things like block/guard counter/tackle).
I think they banned it because it's extremely strong and it would be a lock in every time attack if it wasn't banned, and doing time attacks with heroics kinda sucks because even the slightest damage like getting clipped by the monster turning around kills you. The TA wiki is maintained by japanese people so they have their own frickall definition about what fairness is lmfao.
>troonywiki speedruns
>relevant
moron
because it is lmao
Lance shouldn't do high damage, its a safe, giant shield weapon.
Lance is paying for war crimes in past games
>Lance .... [is] a safe, giant shield weapon.
>flashbacks to iceborne beam attacks going through power guard
300 hours in that game and I never got that fricking Guard Up deco
>I regurgitate my opinions from others instead of attempting form my own
this is how zoomies argue their points, by linking you to their favorite streamer because that's where they get their opinions from
Any big differences between PC and switch minus obvious ones like framerate and resolution?
I'd like to play through sunbreak on PC, but I don't really want to go through everything I already did on switch.
Sunbreak has a surprisingly decent mod scene.
>lmao dude lance is dogshit 5min hoont? LOOOOOL
>now please look at this random youtuber with LS (undoubtly the best weapon in the game since day 1) demolish this monster
>wait, my times?? well uhhh it doesnt matter ok??? lance is shit
I think I'm gonna slot in Quick Sheathe skill and just play Surge Slash without ever charging, bros.
Oboro busi
So it seems like followers can reduce a mon to 1 HP, but can't actually score the kill themselves.
wow what a discovery sherlock
Cats and dogs can score the kill. Followers can cut tails, I figured that they might be able to land finishing blows as well.
Same with wallbangs.
Best Support Secret Move? Kittenator sounds good on paper but fast mons just bullrush through them anyway. Not to mention it's a gachashit.
I just use the mist one, applies blights
Ameowzing Mist and Healing Bat
I don't know if this is actually the case but it feels like you're guaranteed to get the Kittenator at least once per hunt, and if it misses or it doesn't get used after being set up then your cat can just use it again later.
I'm certain the Kittenator has higher priority if it doesn't fire or hit anything
I'm hr 50 now are there any worthwhile hr event quests to do before starting to chip away at early mr
get to hr100 bucko
>mfw I realized that you can aim Kinsect Slash
I'm playing a completely different game.
This, I was relieved when I found out you can just follow the kinsect reticle to aim it
how were you even using it before?
comboing it with Awakened kinsect slash.
I've played all three. I didn't mean he necessarily fights like one, but a lot of what he does and his look feels like an Aragami adapted into MH.
I think you're just thinking that because he can expels purple flames.
That’s just a monster girl
Here is GE's equivalent to Qurupeco then, completely different style.
>does literally nothing except make all monsters permanently enraged and all player characters constantly at max power
Beyond based.
Man I always forget how everything look like it's on crack in GE.
I do like some of the design though
Why aren’t monster frickers more interested in this, since they can actually frick it probably
Cause god eater is kinda ass to play, it's fun but it's got a few particularities that are not to everyone's tastes.
I also forgot to say it's really, really, REALLY anime as frick, the cheesy kind that makes you feel like you're reading a shonen straight out of early 2000.
that generic korean mmo gameplay is really cool anon, thanks for sharing with the class
I'm glad you enjoyed my Magnamalo TA run, anon.
>that shitty 'out of my way'
fricking cring-
>*90s inspired mecha song plays*
Kino
GE songs have been always pretty hype. It's the one thing you can always count on from Bamco.
mod to replace MH shitty soundtrack for GE fricking when?
>
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves now
God Eater collab monster when
Kongou would unironically make for a decent LR/early HR fight.
>tfw Fierce Kongou was GE’s Rajang
What would work for that best? Vajra is the most iconic, but would feel too same-y to Magna. Hannibal or Quadriga or something... Maybe Marduk or Anubis?
Supy is a weirdo and deserves to be bullied.
frick you homosexual Supy is based
I want to carry Supy around
for a little while then set him down and send him on his way
I want to FRICK the princess.
Or, go full autist and lose a friend who tolerates you
Nah, guns are so obnoxiously strong you can play them however the frick you want and still do well.
if you touched a weapon I dislike you did not beat the game.
which weapon so i know to avoid you
if you dislike the same weapons as me then i agree
if not then cope, seethe, dilate etc etc
SA users, any reason to use wide sweep over morph slash combo?
Basically no
the morph sweep sucks ass because it doesn't count as a morph attack because it doesn't force you to morph like it did in world. It's actually dogshit and serves no purpose
? morph slash literally forces you to switch to sword mode, and you can morph again for a double morph attack when going into axe
I was referring to wide sweep
ah okay
it's a good wakeup move at least, does SA have a better one for sleeping monsters?
You can activate the counter with your own bombs exploding if you also hit the monster with it so I would go with that
How much time am i supposed to spend in the air with IG? all the aerial attacks feel like shit to use
Until a tailswipe 10 feet below you suddenly hitting you and making you crash into the ground.
kinsect slash is pretty good and you can aim it but it uses more stamina if you aim so you need to either eat for fighter, slot constitution or use a dash juice
>spend entire hunt trying to break Valstrax's back
>he dies before that happens
>no Spineshells from Target Rewards (do get a Dragonsphire, frick you desire sensor)
>need 2 of these fricking things
ugh
me but with malzeno, I always kill him before I can break the fricking wings
breaking his back is a fricking pain unless you're using a ranged weapon.
I'm convinced dango reward do next to frickall by now.
Take the Shrapnel Ammo pill anon
holy frick I love seregios theme
Sunbreak's returning monster themes feel very faithful to the originals for the most part, it's refreshing after World and Rise
>powered up monsters coming in the TU
>afflicted are basically frenzied from 4
will be getting 4U apexs that survived the affliction?
>hate monsters like basarios and new crab
>start playing GL
>shitmons are now fun
>Hating either crab
God none of these newbies would have survived older monhuns where sheathing and superman diving was a required skill and necessary meneuver on a ton of monsters.
fricking exactly
the same morons that call you a grumpy boomer because you hate the spiderman weebshit mode in MHrise would throw a fricking tantrum and quit ten minutes into playing any MH series before generations
oh come on, stop being such old gramps. as if sheathing and diving were hard to execute. old MH isnt hard, it just required patience. if youre a patient hunter you would have no trouble adjusting to and beating old monhun.
>inb4 blabla
i beat FU when it released.
the point they're arguing is literally that in an era where instant gratification and dopamine hits the absolute vast majority of people would not survive a monster hunter game where you literally have to not to damage and execute a several seconds long maneuver for survival, nothing was ever said about difficulty
oh okay, well i guess i can agree with that. i thought they meant survive literally.
Magnamalo? Just dodge fireballs bro. The Hub quest where you have to hunt him is super hard solo until you advance via the Village quests. A 3 star Hub quest is about as hard as a 6 star Village quest
How fun is HBG in this one? I wanted to try it in world but never got around to it.
I don’t remember taking this screenshot
I had the same instinct lmao, what's with hammer morons and using literally only hammer?
Maybe it’s a trait we all share? I thought it was just me. I basically exclusively played hammer in literally every MH game and the thought of even touching another weapon sounds scary and I feel like I’d have to learn the whole game all over again at this point.
For me (screenshot poster), I don't like how weapons like Longsword feel like they lack feedback and are really flimsy.
I got a challenge for you Ganker
>LR 1* hub quest called "Jumped in the Frost Islands"
>target monster is Great Izuchi
>it has the lowest hp of any target monster in the game
How fast can you solo kill it? Go hunt it and post a screenshot of your fastest clear time, use any dangos and buddies you want but it has to be a solo hunt and no capturing. See if you can beat my shitty time
>everyone ITT too scared to fight LR1 great izuchi
Cowards
>LR 1* hub quest
>it has the lowest hp of any target monster in the game
Lower than the village one?
Youre right, meant to say lowest hp of any hub quest target monster
I had a dream last night I was playing Rise and I tried longsword for the first time and was doing wicked damage. Still not playing longsword
Reverse Blast Dash is too high IQ for me, back to Guard Edge
im still messing with it but the call of "press b to live" is strong
ive seen people use it as a sort of counter since it has a lot of iframes but i need some time to adjust
>old man yells at clouds
Beat him last night on my first try without carting. I'm starting to wonder if gunlance is just a cheesy weapon. I haven't had trouble with anything.
It's not really a cheesy weapon, but having one of the two best shields in the game coupled with the fact that you don't have to care about hitzones as much as other weapons means it has an easier time surviving, and the tradeoff is less stopping power compared to other weapons
>GE

Can wyverians and humans even frick?
They must have SOME sort of hole down there for breeding, so yes, they must be able to frick.

Shit, you're right.
Your spirit shines brightly!
I fricking hate Chichae and I'm pretty sure the only people that like her are part of the UOOOOH squad.
She kinda does nothing yeah, but I just find her inoffensive than anything.
I play in English so she has the super fricking shit voice etc
>I play in English

Why do that to yourself
She looks like an 80 year granny librarian. False dicky.
This but replace "protect" with "breed"

>Guard doesn't help with the GS counter's chip damage

Rapid Morph shows up way too often.

I bet the devs made it so the melding rng tips away from the weapon the player uses most.

Welcome to the club.

GS sucks and fighting these spastic monsters with it is not fun. I don't know how GS players do it.
What’s a good SnS build for high rank
Run with Nargacuga until MR. It's easy to make, great damage, and was close to meta. For gear just run whatever collection gives you good AB, CE, WEX and CB.
>tfw have all these various tickets
>don't even know what the frick to use them for
*captures monster*
Thanks I needed extra Gore Sensors
*gives everyone but you a like*
Good luck sleeping with that on your mind.
>not even scorned

what kind of gear do I want for Gunlance? I'm still mostly rocking HR Bazel gear (I'm still only doing MR2 quests as I'm not very far)
I figure I want guard stuff, AB, and Bombardier, but is there anything else to keep an eye out for?
protective polish can be good if you're full bursting
once you reach MR bazel just make his entire set, even without decorations it's a perfect GL set
Sick, thanks. I hear that in Sunbreak one tends to use Bullet Barrage more than full burst stuff, is that accurate or is there more to it than that?
Bullet Barrage is only for big damage opportunities, it's not replacing your regular attack rotations.
ah, gotcha. Thanks brother.
Yeah it is, unless you think doing shit damage is 'a good rotation'.
If you're not using it on cooldown, you need to be using groundsplitter and poke shelling or EC shelling. Not doing slaplance or either of those first two is just plain wrong, end of story.
Gunlance is bottom of the barrel dps with and without Bullet Barrage, lets be honest.
>an extra minute or three every hunt in exchange for actually enjoying yourself
The horror!
most certainly not. juiced GL does most damage when it just rotates through its slap > slap > FB combo, especially with reverse blast. youre being very autistic about dps so i assume youre speaking from a speedrun perspective, in which case BB is really only used when you have the opportunity, usually at the beggining of a hunt.
if youre not speaking from a speedrun perspective then i dont know why youre shitting and pissing yourself so much.
>This moron again
Maybe try hitting the fricking proper hitzones once in a while you one note frick.
Artillery if you're not slaplancing.
Load Shells level 2
Evade Extender
Guard skills if you want
there are 2 complete sets that you don't even need a gem, one is Bazel (MR5) and the other is Heavy knight (MR4)

Yes I do play IG
I wish people were less obsessed with exclusively aerial IG or tornado slash spam IG and went for the balanced fun route with powder vortex.
Just popping at 2-3 clouds each time for 300-500 damage easily, tetraseal slashing for the up close damage, that new kinsect vault -> kinsect slash x 2 -> diving wyvern for fun when the kinsect's already out.
Can even just fire a pollen shot from afar every now and then for easy cloud setups when monsters move super far.
I hate tetraseal it leaves me with nothing to filler with. Tornado slash is too fricking good.
They made tetraseal faster though, it's better damage than tornado slash in almost all cases now and has the same AA combo loop, except it auto-sends out your kinsect and doesn't require repositioning.
Blunt Assist + Blast Weapon + Tetraseal + Kinsect Slash is the peak balance between damage and fun. Diving Wyvern gays need not apply.
>other players and/or IG users can activate or steal your clouds
This weapon is unplayable with the fun categories online, unfortunately.
Charge Blade is a god damn clunky piece of shit what a trashheap of a weapon. Those recovery frames and that sheathe delay are absurd.
another LS user filtered by a weapon that requires above single digit iq
LS is fricking trash, too.
>do counter good
>still get hit anyways
I just took the habit of cancelling foresight into iai.
Well shit, when's that update?
Just a tip for MR mag, if you get hit by the grab, wirefall into him instead of away
Come up with a new skill dedicated to Gunlance

Switchskill that changes Wyvern fire into a Pile Driver, or one that expels all shells in an AOE around you that you can press twice to jump with.
Just machine gun shelling from GU
easy, a counter movie that for a short time, your attacks are sped up, making the weapon quicker to use.
I'm baffled that this has never been used on a single weapon in the series ever. beyond quicker charges with focus.
Master's Touch but for shelling rather than crits.
Also applies to Switch Axe.
Offensive Guard but instead of raising attack it restores sharpness
A skill that uses a loaded shell to blast yourself into the air if you hold down the shelling attack button while guarding.
you mean blast dash?
He said while guarding, not 2 seconds after you stop guarding and then 2 seconds after you hold the Blast Dash button.
Yes, but no. This one propels you vertically in the air.
But why
So you can follow it up with an aerial blast dash to go places fast.
Or do the aerial overhead slam and fullburst on landing I guess.
To jump horizontal attacks like sweeping beams or tail swipes on the spot and then counter with a quicker start up.
Replaces shelling level with a percentage modifier based on raw.
How the frick do I reliably dodge Malzeno's ground traveling blasts? I get hit by those things every time.
The quadruple one? It's important to keep in mind that he'll always hop backwards before doing them. That'll give you time to react.
Since they curve and crisscross, either hang back and stay where you are near the middle or roll towards him before the two middle ones intersect
I didn't notice the backhop. Thanks, that should help a lot.
