Let it go man.
moron here, can I get a quick run down on the hunting horn?
I'm not sure I understand the skill very well
Press button to play note
Different button different note
Every note, skill
Play song, give skills. Skills change for every hh
Thanks. What's the bar that fill up around the horn icon?
Not the music shaft, the little circle
That's your infernal melody gauge.
you can play infernal melody which is an attack where you swing your HH around like a spastic for 4 seconds and get a 30% atk buff for 30 seconds
Oh, I knew about the melody but didn't know it was reliant on that circle, the book only tells you to make a given serie of notes and then press the input to activate it.
Thanks again.
Literally just hit shit and get buffs. The only difference is which Melody Mode you are running. In Echo mode you "play" a note once and pressing LR/R2 will trigger a buff that the note was tied to. In Performance mode you just need to "play" two same notes in a row to activate a buff. Though you still gotta press LR/R2 from time to time to activate the default buff that all Hunting Horns have.
Personally I like Echo mode better because trying to chain two notes in a row can get disrupted easily depending on the situation. Especially in multiplayer when you really need to pop a specific buff fast.
Yeah I think I got the hang of it by now, it was mostly the silkbind that felt odds to me, I knew the basic principle of the HH, though the buffs being automatic did tripped me.
What're the most appreciated buff?
I'm running the basic b***h Kagura horn because it seems like a solid starter with the def and atk buff but I figure there might be more to the other buff.
Not asking for the most optimal shit by the way just what gives people a good time in general, if I'm going to dish out buffs I might as well give the ones people like the most.
attack up, def up, hp regen
sharpness regen, earplug, sharpness loss reduced
So basically either Kagura or Malzeno, got it.
Thanks, I think I'm gonna give the Malzeno one a try for variety's sake.
i think lunagaron is a good weapon too since it give element boost too, god i miss rampage HH
Well if we are ignoring atk or def buffs then obviously Healing is something everyone appreciates. Earplugs (L) is also a good buff to apply too. Going down the order I'd say the new Sharpness related buffs are pretty good too. Affinity up is really nice too but then again that's just Atk Up in a roundabout way though this is more useful for players who already have a lot of damage numbers. Lastly I personally would suggest Stamina regen buff. It's not as important as others but damn it feels good to have that extra dodge or two when you really need it.
yeah I'd guess DBoys would be all over that sweet sweet auditory meth.

Damn xirs it feels good to play gunlance
sounds like a (you) problem
Trying out IG for the first time since 4U, which switch skills should I be using? They all seem kinda useless.
I just picked it up today and I've been getting a lot of mileage out of diving wyvern and kinsect slash. Yet to get the hang of advancing roundslash but it seems fun.
>Advancing roundslash / leaping slash
both work, I prefer roundslash. leaping slash combos into other skills faster but I prefer the mobility and the ability to counter with roundslash
>Tetraseal slash/Tornado slash
Tetraseal as the marking helps your bug
>Kinsect Slash/Jumping advancing slash
go Kinsect slash, Advancing slash can be used on second scroll if the monster has weak wings or back to tear up
>Wyvern dive/recall kinsect/Awakened kinsect attack
Wyvern dive. you can throw one of the other 2 on the other scroll if you want heals or situational damage
>Silkbind Vault/Kinsect Glide
Silkbind Vault, its counts as an aerial boost increasing the damage of dive
basically you want to spam tetraseal slash with occasional Silkbind vault > 2x kinsect slash > dive, you can aim the Kinsect slash with the reticle to aim for the head and preferably position the dive on head too.
Use blunt assist bug, Powder is possible but plays differently
What do you want MH6 to carry on from World and Rise, and what do you want left behind?
>carry on from Rise

I want base world slinger to return, also the more pretty maps.
I want Palamutes to return from Rise, and switch skills. Wirebugs can stay.
>I want base world slinger to return

I actually enjoyed world but I hated how shit made you reliant on it

5th gen has been fun, can we move on to serious monster hunting again?
>carry on from World
Auto crafting and radials, but those already got carried over so safe to say their staying.
>carry on from Rise
Dogs. They're not shit tailriders, and it'd be a waste to have modeled all that gear for them just so they'd be used in one game and its expansion.
>what do you want left behind
Slinger and RNG shit like Saafi and Kulve. Honestly just stop trying to force an end game via shit like Apex (both kinds), Tempered and Hyper monsters. They felt like bloat and I lost interest in them fast. Deviants and rare subspecies are all we really need.
>auto crafting
gay QoL. Makes it ridiculous easy to spam max pots/Ammo
>dogs
white woman detected. Pets should only exist for solo
>tempered, hyper bloat
>endgame bad
>deviants good
meh, can't you be stupid somewhere else
>Pets should only exist for solo
I said dogs should stay for MH6, not they should be allowed in 4 player hunts.
>deviants good
Deviants are a good idea, and bringing them back doesn't necessarily mean we'd have to obtain their gear the same way it was in Generations. You must really enjoy b***hing for the sake of it.
>Auto crafting
Disgusting. Frantic menuing mid-hunt was part of the fun.
none of it
pretend gen 5 didn't happen and make a new sequel to 4
>Carry from World
Investigations: They were a nice way to leverage dps into earning rare rewards
Arena capture Battles: Some times it's just nice to hunt a monster a single zone. They should give no part rewards, just there for fun and to keep the speedrunners away from the rest of the game.
Side Quests: Lot of fun side quests in World. Nothing wrong with them being slow since they're optional
Notebook Manual: It was cute.
Monster Nests: Monsters having their own little arenas was cute
Food (visuals): Looked good.
>Carry from Rise
Monsters difficulty: They're more fun. I don't care if they slow them down a little if MH6 has slower gameplay, but they monsters still need to be difficult
Food (system): Dango are shit, but the system is much better. I actually feel like I'm making choices over spamming chef special
Followers: If they're going to force story characters on me (and we all know they will), at least follower quests make it interesting
Switch Skills: They're pretty cool for spicing up gameplay, and allow weapons to have alternative play styles. Don't want silkbinds, though some of the moves need to be worked (back) into the weapons core gameplay.
I fully expect to see a grapple hook in MH6, I know they won't be able to resist. I just hope it's mainly there for map movement and not part of the core gameplay loop.

The updated zones and rampage gems are cool. Palamutes could use some extra work.
>From world

>rampage gems are cool
do people really like them?
There are only like 1-2 useful skills for every slot size. They are really cheap to make, you only have to make them once. Most rampage skills got dumped down (kushala soul used to be 40%, hellion mode 100% affi)
Its the most shallow system. I'd rather have the old system back and they balance the skills to make the best choice less obvious.
eat for spiribbirbs doubled (lvl3 is enough) and at least collect some green ones on the way to the monster or get the bird armor skill.
They were interesting when they were on weapons, but now they're just another deco.
I mean the base concept is cool. Special weapon skills. They have to do a bit of work though
PLEASE have 16-player hubs again and a not-moronic SOS system
World SOS was fine I don't get why they changed to this random matchmaking system
>16 player hub
That's fricking shit.
SOS is shit too.
Bring back the old system with named rooms and only 4 dudes.
what, why?
Because 4 dudes in a room promotes camaraderie.
When you enter a pre-world hall, you are expected to salute and wait for everyone to get ready. Meanwhile, you can have a little chitchat and ask for tips.
I met super nice people through MH.
My "master" was a random mexican dude that was super attentive and patient. He taught me how to play and in return, he asked me to play with his sister when she was around, because he didn't have much time to play. This was way back in the tri era.
He wasn't the only one i met this way. Half of my switch friends are people from mhgu. It is nice to play with courteous people who knows how to play.
And you know what's the best thing? No voice chat, only keyboard. People thinks twice when thet are not sputing shit over a microphone.
World style hubs promotes austism and treating people like they were bots. You use them and then dump them. I have never make a friend in post world games.
Frick
*i have met.
I must add that the lack of a 4 dudes in a room system is the reason why the MH community is so fricking shit now.
this, the only good part of SOS is that you can join mid-quest, that's it. its absolutely destroyed the enjoyment of hunting with randoms and the sense of community you get from sitting in a turns lobby for a few hours. you might as well replace the online with the follower system at this point.
I just want to be able to capture endemic life and decorate my room with them. I also liked having 2 variants of most armor in world

Maybe a more Barbarian feel next time around.

All 4 games of the 6th generation should be on the same platform. This is common sense. With that you can continually build up content and not having to reset after every 2 games. See 4th gen.
>All 4 games of the 6th generation should be on the same platform
As long as it's PC we are in agreement
>All 4 games of the 6th generation should be on the same platform.
This is impossible, unless they drop Nintendo completely or they downgrade their own game to run on a handheld. The first option is never going to happen, and the second one would be kinda sad.
Or cloud version on Switch like PSO2
bring back clutch claw, wirebug is a fricking joke
Palamutes are here to stay because lmao merchandise. Radial menus are here to stay. Single zone openly-traversable maps are here to stay. Nu-HH better not fricking stay. The leveling kinda sucks but i did enjoy hunting random monsters from whatever ecology.
Frick you reminded me that I never finished that. Last new monster I encountered there was Zinogre, so I'm sure there's still a long way to go.
world minus clutch claw and tenderizing with as much content as wrold+iceborne in the base game.
thats all i want and it would be my goty for many years.
I just want the biggest and most pandering MH game.
Literally just make the story visiting all of the previous villages and taking on all of their big bad bosses as they are all 'resurfacing' for whatever reason. Dalamadur, ghen mohran and lao and dire miralis and gog and ishvalda and kal'atha or whatever its name was. And then make the final boss a new bigger elder dragon. Hell make the old handler the new chief who is guiding the guild. Throw in a scene where she visits a grave and pours one out and says "this hunters got this pard" as you walk into the final cutscene against the main boss. I just want fricking monhun kino.
>anon wants mhgen
It exists
Right. But I want it in the style of world/rise story telling instead of the old style where you just mash A through text boxes to get to the next monster whose ass you are going to carve.
I sincerely hope the World-style story telling disappears forever. Slowly walking through cutscenes while someone blathers on about bio energy was fricking awful. MH doesn't really need a story. Some context to string things together is fine, but Rise is already pushing it and the only reason I mind it less than World is because it's skippable.
i literally just want world but with the non-BONED weapon models from rise
the unironic worst thing about Rise is that it just ported some of the boned/ironed weapons over without giving them new models
You forgot all the iron weapons with just “monster skin” thrown on top.
I hated World weapons so fricking much.
Wirebug is potentially here to stay, sunbreak laid a foundation for it existing in deeply European cultures and not just being ninja gimmicks.
And don't forget dangos
dangos are soulless and frick these rng buffs
but they exist in "deeply" European cultures
Post yfw you donj't play gunlance
when is the bundle going on sale? no way am I paying 100 bucks for a bing bing wahoo port
>paid 20 bucks for world through keysites
>paid steam price for Rise + Sunbreak

>100bucks
frick off moron
Am I missing something with the bow or do I really just mash shots out, dodge, and then fire power shots at opportune openings? Like is Dragon Piercer even good for anything?
Imagine NOT playing gunlance
>same webm with damage numbers on
>41 damage
but now he can wyvernride for 2000 damage
Sometimes I feel like Rise plays itself. If I feel like doing shit dps some monster will eventually run down from the other side of the map, punch my quest target in the face and await to be rideable to shit out free damage.
Is this a new maymay where we post cool webms and then some sperg replies
>ummmm, thats not quite efficient....yikes
>see you at the bottom of the dps parser
damage numbers were a mistake
You'd hope it's ironic but it's a 90% chance they really are just that autistic
Damage numbers introduced in World has since emboldened parseBlack folk to an extreme degree.
Fun no longer exists in their vocabulary.
And that is why I turn them off. And anyone that advocates for them I say, "So that's how you compensate for being shit otherwise." Then they usually triple cart, get laughed at, leave the group.
>fabricated story to make ximself feel better
you turn them off because you don't want to be embarrassed every time you hit a monster with your shitlance lmao
>every other weapon mains
damage numbers are cool, i can watch as thousands upon thousands of damage racks up from my combos, or turn it off if i'd like to
>tr*nslance players
SEETHE
ParseBlack person here, it is a fact that GL users are more often than not dead last.
But I don't give shit to anyone for it.
the entire focus of the game has shifted to maximum DPS homosexualry through all the mechanics that changed, damage numbers had only a small part to do with it
>slowly phase out anything that isn't hitting monsters with big weapon, farming and gathering is near none existent despite being not far off 50% of what you did in the older games
>let you teleport on top of the monster because walking the map isn't doing epic dps so must be axed
>wind press, roars, blights and other such monster mechanics are dumbed down to frick and a lot of the time hardly noticeable
>all the defensive skills that negate these thing are now useless because they aren't even bad enough to build around countering
>might as well just stack attack skills
>oh yeah and heres a new armor system thats still lets you slot in all your comfort skills along side your 7 damage skills anyway
>end game is obsessed with monsters that just get HP sponge life bars, even if you never touched the internet in your life anyone would come to conclusion that they want you to pump damage you dont spend 45 minutes fighting these c**ts
dont hate the player for doing exactly what capcom have spend the last half a dozen games pushing them towards
Reminds me of when some guy posted a cool CB webm and half the posts were like
>uuuuuuuh nice phial damage lol my HBG does more than that
I remember that, it was clearly an unoptimized progression build too
maybe post actual cool webms instead of some gay edited to hell and back with special effects muh cinematic kino shit?
It's just the obsessive autist seething about gunlance because he got blasted away by the bullet barrage a couple of times. Also shows he's a filthy casual playing with randos.
>gets kicked from every online lobby for using troonlance
o-online is for filthy casuals imagine playing to have fun
Weird cope but whatever makes you feel better about being a shitter
There's cool shit then there's stupid shit. The latter always looks better no matter the game because it encapsulates fun.
they are right thou, the game doesn't reward you for doing any cool tricks. You can skyward thrust a dragon from 10 miles above and you still do less damage than sticking a kunai into Rathians tail.
If you randomly do this, you are very lucky if this even makes the monster flinch.
Whoever made that video probably counted the hits to make sure his trick does the kill
>All that for 150 damage
>insect glaive jumps and does diving wyvern instead of all of this
>literally 10x more damage

For the anons asking about it in the last thread, Valstrax SnS is 340 Raw, 56 Dragon, and 140 hits of white. Not only is it the best dragon elemental SnS, but the maths nerds worked out that it beats out the raw option on any hitzone that has a 5 or greater value for dragon. So you can basically run it a better raw weapon for a huge portion of monsters even if they're not specifically weak to dragon. All that white lets you spam the shit out of high damage slash loops and slash reaper combos rather than having to use shield bashes and perfect rush (metsu shoryugeki is your source of KOs). Thing is crazy.
Considering all the Valstrax weapons have 340 raw and long white, are they mostly BiS? Ignoring things like GL, HH and the guns where other factors might make them worse.
Maybe. Though they're not all 340 though. Eg LS is down at 320 for some reason.
Real men use hammers.
Wait, hold on, people are actually playing GL?
Roughly 3 vocal troonlance contrarians trying to cope
There is no end game
I’m MR 59 and I am already burnt out since there’s nothing to do
Talismans are so shit you would think you were in base Rise again
Literally already waiting for the first update
And what in your mind is a good "endgame"? Rise has been great because I've actually felt like I can hunt whatever the frick I like instead of being pigeonholed into whatever drops the best gear.
>look guys I have good damage in g rank not all it took was for the weapons playstyle to be completed gutted in favour of spamming 1 move for 10 minutes
>still dont actually do that much damage
is there anything more cucked than a g*nl***ce user?
amazing they made a playstyle more braindead than fullburst spam
Translance users are in a constant state of denial
They're too busy making soiface at the effects and sparkles to notice how little damage it does

don't even think you can deflect the hatred for your shitstick by calling out hammerbros, hammer might not be top tier but gunlance is on a whole other level of shit
>impact crater costs 2 wirebugs and does >2.7k damage
gunlance xisters... i thought we were at least close to hammer...
Hammer is absolute winner of SB. It went from absolute shit to one of the most versatile and fun weapons.
Meanwhile GL users gargle semen in joy to have become even more braindead than IC Hammer

Behold, the Ancient Forest of Rise!
For some reason my game dip in FPS when I look south on this map.
It's pretty annoying.
I have to turn model swapping on to keep a stable fps on citadel.
I'm can only guess capcom did some shit culling and there are still stuff rendering despite you not being able to see it.
Ancient forest was shit though
Citadel is actually a really good map once you get the great wirebug network up and running
>Citadel is actually a really good map
Only 2 zones in it are good for fighting, kind of like Ancient Forest

Shaggy is fricking literal aids on HH, can I get some s1ck n4sty tricks to keep on his head?
does charge master work with bow?
yeah but it's 33% worse
So was the anti-LS spam also just one autistic Black person like with GL now?
I noticed LS hate stopped when his seethe switched targets.
Which is more Black person, clutch claw or permabuff birds?
1 is completely optional to engage with and mostly done by shitters and the other is mandatory due to how bloated monster HP got due to it
can you figure out which is which
Only shitters use clutch claw. I soloed the game easy without it.
You have 50 minutes in a hunt, it's not a challenge
All you're telling us is how big your capacity for autism you have to waste that much extra time on it
But I only need 15 minutes
permabuff is literally free damage laying around I don't get why people stick the shitter label on it, with how obsessed gays are with their clear time you'd think they'd be all over it since it allow them to stack even more shit on top of their gear.
I wanna use his Foray thing
Whats a good lbg/hbg for it, with both para and poison?
His lbg seems okay, but deviation is annoying

I can't tell if those with jap/chink names are actual riceBlack folk or not
Why are ppl mad about GL now? The spam in the threads here or some leddit meme build?
It's one mentally ill Black person who spams these threads
Probably some LS bab who got BB'd once while they tried to do some flashy weeb nonsense
Pretty sure that was a single seething sperg gunlance is good and fun
Nah, the guy sperging in the threads is one thing but I can guarantee there are more people than him alone, I'm one of them.
Ultimately I'm okay with GL users, I don't discriminate, but be lying to say 85% of them are Black folk who can't aim their shit at all and ends up being a nuisance.
>but be lying to say 85% of them are Black folk who can't aim their shit at all and ends up being a nuisance.
Not any of the anons either, but this is literally every weapon type. The weapon itself is fine in the hands of someone who doesn't suck and the only time you'll ever be blasted away is if you're out of position, but reality of MH is that 95% of people suck and can't aim anything at all. Tripping jokes used to be in good fun and nothing but banter, but a while ago it shifted to just outright shitposting and ruined the joke.
Yes but other weapons don't knock you away from the monster no matter how shit the person playing them is, GL is a fricking burden online
>but other weapons don't knock you away from the monster no matter how shit the person playing them is,
Yeah they do? Hammer has done that for years and Bow/LBG/HBG is the king of fricking over melee, for example.
>but from my personal experience I'm getting blown the frick out by GLs in one quest out of five.
I personally haven't even seen this happen more than once, and I have been able to use BB online without knocking anyone flying myself. The point I am trying to make is that what you're really complaining about is players being shit at the game and that has nothing to do with weapons.
Bow LBG etc don't knock melee away if you have 1 flinch free. Hammer doesn't spam upswings and it is in a very small area. GL fricking covers the entire monster and knocks everyone away. There are lots of people who have this issue why are you pretending it's not a thing?
>really complaing about players being shit
Again no. Other weapons don't make a difference. It's GUNLANCE players being shit that's annoying as frick. Damage control it all you want but it's literally the only weapon that's a fricking nuisance online right now, outside of gunners standing far away and luring the monster out of the melee weapons range
>I personally haven't even seen this happen more than once, and I have been able to use BB online without knocking anyone flying myself.
If you can time and aim your stuff properly then it's all good man, and I'm not being sarcastic I mean it, but hell that shit literally happened to me again an hour ago where a GLgay kept blowing the whole team away as soon as he had wirebugs.
>The point I am trying to make is that what you're really complaining about is players being shit at the game and that has nothing to do with weapons.
Then I guess we both misunderstood each others, or I probably worded my shit poorly I've been playing all night so I'm kinda out of it, but yeah I wasn't shitting on GL per se just that shitters are being a nuisance, like you said.
Dudes are blowing their loads all over the place without a second thought and that is what's the problem, it's leaving a bad taste in my mouth because they don't even seem to give a shit.
I don't know, I got tripped by LS users but it was rare, getting swinged by a hammergay was just as rare and so is getting dunked by a GSgay, but from my personal experience I'm getting blown the frick out by GLs in one quest out of five.
It's not like I sperg out at them or go insane in the threads shitposting about it, all I'm saying is that bullet barrage frickery DOES happens very frequently to me.
Lets for a brief moment assume that every weapon type has the exact same percentage of complete morons, GL still now gave those morons the best tool to grief hunts with.
There's definitely more people annoyed at GL and its fair due to BB knockshit, personally I haven't experienced getting knocked away by it yet even though i see them often
got tripped by like 3 LS players just today tho
>GL launches people using the only decent attack it has
>said attack costs 2 wirebugs and expends all ammo with a long windup animations
>it still does shit damage coming in it 50% of impact crater on hammer of all things
>there is one avid GL troon defender in here who is convinced that the GL hate is literally one person
When will we get hunt-a-thons back

Insect Glaive has ruined me. I've tried a bunch of other weapons, but none of them are as fun as all the stupid shit you can do with IG in terms of dodging or counterattacks and even their builds feel boring to me since they don't have stuff like Kinsects that can completely change your approach to your skills + playstyle. Other weapons can't even pole vault.
What's the closest weapon to IG, anons?
Dual Blades and Longsword are both pretty mobile and have silly flashy moves.
Lance is also considered a "slow weapon" but its mobility and speed is underrated.
>Dual Blades
Maybe, but I don't like how it's aerial stuff can't be controlled and stamina management sounds annoying.
>Longsword
>Lance
I would not say they're anything like IG, unless Lance has some jumping moves or something.
I just use Narwa/Ibushi for my DB sets.
It ain't "meta" but it's so comfy.
>Narwa/Ibushi
Wait, you can do that? Don't you lose Thunder and Wind Alignment skill points?
The way Stormsoul works, you will always end up with +5 in one Alignment and +4 in the other, provided you have 3 of one set and 2 of the other.
Limits your DB choice to Dragon or Lightning but that's fine.
Lance can jump out of the charge, but it's more to deal aerial damage than getting any actual verticality.
>Lance is also considered a "slow weapon"
How? Unless they changed things since I played Lance it's anything but. Only slow thing about Lance is the walk speed and it's there just for readjusting, not actual movement. Thing is relentless.
SnS is very fast. Movement speed is almost as fast as being sheathed, has short and fast attacks, and you can zip around the map using shield bash. DB is another obvious choice, although I don't play it.
shield tackleCHAD ww@? didn't expect i have to use lance WW to fight him
shield tackle is really fun to use but i find myself sometimes relying on it too much in situations i could've insta-blocked/anchor raged/spiral thrusted in instead, i like to use it more as a combo extender/ko tool instead of a guard point
>shield tackle is really fun to use but i find myself sometimes relying on it too much
same, i can't use other weapon now because that sweet defense and attack at the same time
>all those seconds lost blocking instead of peerlessly hoping through
I don't like this
it's not that far, also i forgot to bring spiral thrust
I've played the entirety of base rise and sunbreak using only stock lance, miss me with this whole switch skill shit, i anchor rage.
In the end does it even reallly matter if Gunlance has a friendly-fire skill? Hammer, Long Sword, Charge Blade and gunners who use nonsticky explosives have been friendly fire trouble for a while now.
Yes, squeezing in 1 flinch free is expected for multiplayer and solves all problems, except for gunlance. And no one is gimping their build to accommodate for the literal lowest damage output weapon in the game when it's easier to just not play with then
Just beat my first rajang ever alone. Damn is this guy craz and fun.
Monkey Trouble is an absolute lad. Love him in every game.
Yeah at least when you get launched by a bonkchad it's probably for being too close to the head, and you can use the airtime for an additional attack.
Gunlance just delete your entire squad's opening on a downed monster, so hunts ultimately take longer as well as losing everyone out on partbreaks they would have had otherwise.
i'll cart three times when the monster about to die if i play with hbg sticky cluster bomb
When do you unlock the citadel map?
Rank 3 Urgent quest i believe
help me learn how to lance, bros. What are some basic combos I should know? I'm too new to the weapon to feel which switch skills are worthwhile.
shield tackle, also you don't need wirebug skill to play with lance
not that guy and I'm new too, but isn't the move where you launch yourself twice good for repositioning? and skyward thrust for tall or big guys
yes, that's good too, but if you play solo you don't really need it, if you play with other player you need it
i always bring guard and guard up, the rest is CE, WE, AB, EE, and offensive guard
What about EE?
Question: but why only guard 3? Doesn't shit hit really hard later on? I assume MR can't be any kinder than what I remembered in HR. Won't losing those two points mean you will spend more time recoiling from really heavy attacks?
Ok so I'm guessing the new shield dashes doesn't really cover ground as much as a EE 3 hop would?
EE one is enough, pic related is my build, talisman with EE2
why do you have no points
what points? kamura? talisman is a b***h
I found the shield dash and spartan thrust pretty lackluster for gapclosing, but there's a new switch skill that replaces your joust charge with a quick forward shield bash which is really good.
EE is mostly for sidestepping and activating stuff like Seregios passive, so not that important but still too efficient to pass up.
>Question: but why only guard 3?
A few things, first being that higher Guard will really mostly just stop you from sliding back from heavier attacks, and with certain skills/switch skills you can avoid those attack. But also Twin Vines, when you land it, will actually give you two more guard for its duration, bringing you from 3 to 5 so it's handy in a skill sense to use Twin Vines now. If you don't want to use Twin Vines, you can replace it with Sheathing Retreat which send you backwards a good way and out of trouble.
Gonna piggy back from this guy's post. What skills are necessary for Lance? Guard's a given but what else?
Required:
Guard 3
Offensive Guard
Advised while learning the weapon:
Guard up 2
Thats basically what you need. A skill of your choice for maintaining sharpness such as protective polish also
Guard. In past games Guard 3 was enough but you probably want Guard 5 in Rise.
Guard Up is your choice, really. Not needed if you know what to avoid (there's a wirebug sheathe/evade that lets you escape the big frick you attacks), but QoL.
Evade Extender 2 or 3 is meta on all builds but with Lance it's considerably more important than not having it, just for hop repositioning.
Lance also chunks through your sharpness gauge so usually you want some means of mitigating that. Rise gives you like 5 different skills for sharpness management so just pick one.
Don't listen to these other guys, in World you need guard 3 at minimum but if you can use instablock competently, all you need is Guard 1 and Guard Up 1. Instablock doesn't scale with your guard skill, and Anchor Rage is invulnerability if you land it, but Guard 1 is nice to have if you miss your insta window. The Bazelgeuse X gauntlets are a godsend for Lance, as well as the Squire belt. Depends on how comfy you want to be though, use Guard 3 if you think you'll need it.
Speaking of switch skills, both Guard Dash and Shield Tackle are extremely viable and fun. Shield tackle is a no-brainer, it lets you continue your combos with less downtike and scratches the itch of ceaseless aggression that Lancers want. However, guard dash got gigabuffed in Sunbreak, and now you can continually combo into Leaping Thrust, backstep, and go ad infinitum. The leaping thrust is 3 hits that only consumes 1 sharpness, has really nice MVs and if you run element lance, it just shits out element damage.
>ignore these guys
>play like a speed troony instead
Switch skills are more about what you're comfortable with/what you like. I really like Anchor rage for smaller monsters, and skyward for tall mons, since I've always been shit with spiral thrust. Sheild Tackle is also really good, but so is the dash, it's really up to what you're looking for. Sheathing retreat I haven't tried yet, but Twin Vines gives you the option of only taking 3 guard but still getting fully guard, which is nice.
Typically people suggest Guard 3 and Guard Up 1, Offensive Guard and after that it's up to you. Beyond the typical damage skills I personally like chain crit and blood rite.
>disregarding the meta and using shaggy weapons because they look amazing
Feels good to be a gamer
Holy frick that Malzeno horn is literally infinite sharpness
How the frick do i get high rank talismans? Shit doesn't make sense. I used the rebirth thing and got completely random talismans
Sunbreak talisman melding is unlocked after beating the final boss that unlocks your MR cap.
Just ignore it until then, but use the black market bargaining thing since it gets you Melding Jellies and Accelerants.
It's literally all RNG, just make do with what you got best until you unlock a better one.
I've melded so many MR talismans I am still using my Rank 4 talisman with DB2 and QS2. The system is hilariously bad.
I'm MR 104 and I've yet to get a MR talisman that's better than my HR ones. Found some that rival them, but nothing that surpasses them.
sweet!
Is the highest skill level you can get on a talisman 3? Like say I got attack boost on one talisman, the highest it can get on a talisman is 3? Or can it go higher than that?
Diversion 3 when, i hate it whenever i use it the monster decide to attack range user instead of me
do more dps ez
any pc room?
Should I switch to bow for mr, I've never played a gunner before
Bow needs heavy armor skill investment before it plays properly, you need minimum 2 con, 3 stam surge, 3 shot type up, 2 reload speed, 1 evade extender and 1 bow charge plus (in the majority of cases)
Without eating speedtroony food and chugging dash juice every hunt, you probably want con higher than 2, 4 or 5 ideally for comfort
Can I throw all that together in mr1
Very unlikely, will make bow a pain to use while progressing through MR. I would say you can get away with not having everything listed but honestly they're crucial to bow. Bow charge plus is a flat 20% more damage for example
i can't get fast kill times with gunlance
>use db, sns, hh, gl, lance, sa
>clear time always 10-15 minutes
sad
that's not bad if it's G rank monsters, most people getting 3-5 minutes are speed runners/meta autists
is lance bad? I get like 7-8 minutes on average
as long as you're not constantly carting, and you're having fun don't worry about it
shield tackle spam, i don't even use wirebug skill
How long does it take to kill lunagaron for you? I've been trying Lance on him a bit, constantly attacking, ibstablocking into counter but usually he's out of range and it whiffs. My best Lance time on him so far is 10mins, and I felt like that run I was constantly keeping up damage. I can comfortably kill it in under 8 mins on SA and IG
>try 3 times
>all just a couple ten seconds shy from 10 minutes
I don't like this whiffing c**t
Well it doesn't do any damage so don't be surprised
As an offline GL main, the perpetual seethe in these threads since SB released is hilarious.
>offline GL main
Probably use damage enhancer mods
Nah, keep seething b***hboy
>GL user calling anyone a b***h
lol.
lmao even
>He's still seething with tears of rage in his eyes
Pathetic
If it makes Ganker seethe I'm going to use it
Based, keep blasting them with your figurative huge wiener GLbro
Not seethe, mostly just people laughing at you dumbasses
>seething that other people are moronic
Its called laughing anon. We are laughing at you
>All these samgay replies
You seem to have riled him up, anon
>Afflicted Aurora Somnac**t
What a Black person
Holy shit this guy is still festering over gunlance.
This is actually pathetic.
Its definitely a longsissy coping that a chadlance cucked him
Shut up homosexual, you're just as annoying as the whiny child is.
Why are you pretending to be someone else now, seethebro?
Nobody is taking you seriously.
Why LS when it's always Hammergays b***hing about this stuff?
Dont even start with that shit. Hammerchads are always calm and cool
>Hammerchads are always calm and cool
He lied as naturally as a Hammergays seethe.
It would certainly be disappointing if it's a longswordsman. Studying the blade is meant to teach one discipline and humility.
can i play 3U entire offline or is it fricked like tri
>underwater hunt
good luck
I finished 3U offline, everything is soloable except the event G rank Jhen
Alright, Lance is pretty fun. Feels like I'm just poking them for a bit though.
i used to think lance and GL is a meme weapon, now i'm enjoying it
It's fun, just doesn't feel like I'm doing anything more than acting like a mosquito just stabbing the monster without any threat to me. I like wasting time to do insta-blocks though.
>constantly hear that Afflicted Magnamalo is hard as hell
>finally get around to hunting it
>it’s just normal Magnamalo with double the health
I’m disappointed
I've come to realize that most people don't actually know how to fight magnamalo, so just raising his health and making him less prone to tripping over himself is enough to make people triple cart to him over and over
It helps that I’ve apparently hunted Magnamalo 60 times (because goddamn is that fight fun) so I know all the windups and where to dodge. But still, it’s not that bad.
My issue with MR Magna is that it has the annoying tendency to wind up far away from you after attacks and then it can do all the annoying long-range attacks.
Also the tracking on the double tail beam, but I'm pretty sure that just requires me to stop being bad.
I like the ancient forest.
Why?
i'm buying MHGU
Enjoy, but don't feel pressured to do all the gathering missions immediately. They really kill the pacing and one's desire to keep playing.
>getting mad about weapons
Peak 'tism and not the good time
Go hunt some mons you homosexuals
Gaismagorm dragonsphire aren't real
I got 2 in a single hunt though?
lucklet
Got one on my first fight. Never went back.
I’m about to start Rise. Is Bow a fun weapon to main in Rise/Sunbreak?
It's very mid, bit of a weird control scheme though
I’m deciding between Great Sword and Bow
GS is very straightforward, i think you'll like it more
Is it really? Because I find GS to be very demanding when it comes to memorizing the exact moments of a monster's attack. Especially early game when one wouldn't have access to the new sunbreak silkbind skills.
Ah yeah I've gotten so used to Sunbreak skills i forgot how annoying it can be in early Rise. I'd still say that GS is more fun than Bow though
Yeah, pretty simple to pick up. Though do make sure to at least look up a guide video of sort for Bow because there are some simple but necessary stuff that the game doesn't tell you.
>NO U
NO U
>NO U
NO U
>NO U
fricking Black folk, all of (you)
no u
>Need benis mantle for chest
>Sit down, ready to farm benis all morning
>Get it second hunt
well now what
Farm him for a second one, just in case
If you don't have at least one of every material in the game in your box at a given time, you're doing it wrong
Now you farm another one for the redirection gem.
So I wonder how many times this homosexual took a bullet barrage in a single hunt to be this upset over a single weapon.
>gunlance main
No idea but it's pretty funny
We've entered an autism maelstrom, where two autists are so passionate about an extremely moronic topic(GL players are little angels vs GL players ruin every hunt they are in) and will continue to schizophrenically shitpost about this for weeks on end as neither is likely to concede
It's like being in a /vg/ thread without actually being on /vg/, how wonderful.
The trolls have learnt that regular posters don't take easy bait seriously, so they've started to feed themselves.
This whole thing is more one moron crying about a weapon while the rest point and laugh.
>everyone is laughing at gunlance
No matter how many times you restate this I just doubt it's very true
he's somewhat right, there's multiple people that hate GL new BB but there's clearly one big shitposter spamming the same troony lines, images and gifs the past few threads
Essentially yeah
Those are a couple of loyal dogs!
Anyone know if you need M100 to unlock the blast hammer under Magnamalo?
yeah
damn, I just hit M50 and thought it would unlock there. What hammers yall using?
I used the Ceanataur Head Axe for a good while, though that is partially because of nostalgia.
I just use the final boss or Royal Order hammers because I hate sharpening
The furious rajang one but you're spoiled for choice
Elemental works, Raw works, status works
I got a Dragonsphire from Gaismagorm on my first kill, and have been using his hammer since
Biggest disappointment on Sunbreak
nah, his fight is kino
It's a nice fight, but it's also pretty easy. I expected more of one of the Three Lords. Then again, Garangolm wasn't much of a challenge either.
>monster with “garon” in the name can’t hit you unless you let it
Garon hitbox curse
The big problem with him is his lopsided moveset. Like, both of his ice attacks are essentially harmless, while his two big threatening attacks are variations on claw swipes (that can be dodged by rolling to the side).
I really hope he comes back in the future and they revamp him, because he 100% deserves better.
Garon syndrome
>doesn't knock you back with any attack
hehe RAWR!!!
what could’ve been…
Cool design but throwing ice armor on this would really just make it look like skinny Zamtrios
I'd like him more if he wasn't a shitzone monster. Trying to get that tiny head is a pain in the ass sometimes.
Nah, he's the best new monster
Lunagaron and garangolm are too forgiving and need less windup between attacks.
Garangolm's hitboxes also feel surprisingly generous despite being so huge. I'd try to parry his slams so often as Lance and he'd just whiff.
Still love the big ape. Hope he gets a sub down the line.
Yeah; but the fact they went with a skeleton change mid-fight to reflect the werewolf aspect is nice at least.
Can't wait for the subspecies that's just gonna be the werewolf the entire fight.
god I want one of the title updates to contain variants for the three lords that aren’t complete pushovers
>shit eater
this looks like absolute shit, is this one of the online monster hunter games? looks like a chink phonegame version of monhun
Why did you post a webm of Magnamalo?
Will Gunner armor be back in Gen 6?
I sincerely doubt it.
At this point I'll happily take Alpha/Beta sets back.
Why are gunner armors gone? Why is Capcom lazy?
World merged Gunner and Blademaster armors for some reason.
MH is 5x more popular than its ever been and making more money than its ever made before. There is no excuse not to make another set for gunners.
>Why is Capcom lazy?
Its just an accepted part of the universe now. Nothing will stop Capcom from cutting corners
no
There won't be anymore alternate armor options because everyone let Rise get away with not including them.
I can dislike things about an overall solid project
Capcom isn't super unreachable and has surveys for fan opinions and I'm sure they've heard complaints about the removal of alternate sets. Here's hoping that mh6 has enough dev time to release as a fully fledged game
mfw I didn't even realize they were gone. I've only been playing gunners so I thought me getting chunked for 75% of my hp was just gunner armor things
You didn’t notice a gunner running along in giant bulking armor a gunner should be in?
I'm too used to not looking at my character because clownsets
Don't believe in layered?
It's a habit from old games, even with this game I've only just started using layered
>Espinas wants you to talk about his expansion
i didnt like the expansion or the base game.
didnt want to go back to world either since i completed it multiple times over. so i went and tired out dauntless but i got to endgame in like 4 days with meta gear easily obtainable. now im looking for something else to scratch the monster hunter itch but there isnt anything good around.
Do I have to run crit for every weapon? I hate this.
>playing MR with element hammers and golm armor
>think i'm doing pretty well in terms of damage and hunt times
>bro checks one of my hunts out and chuckles at my numbers
>check to see what "optimal" builds are doing
>everyone else is doing hundreds of damage on basic swings and over a thousand damage on super moves like impact crater
>my super moves are hitting less than some people's normal attacks
>check their builds
>every single meta build for every weapon is all the crit skills and attack
>only have shit decos like free meal and consitution after 250 hours of playing
did this way of building start in world? i remember having to run the same crit/attack skills on everything.
Mostly yes.
Ever since World changed the skill system it got super easy to make a set with half a dozen offensive skills and as Iceborne got more updates the armors and skill combinations got more ridiculous, culminating in the Fatalis armor.
You could do some dumb shit in GU too and it was the game that introduced Crit Boost (well, Gen did), which is a huge part of the problem, but that was horrifically charm reliant.
Are you guys all monsterfrickers who're hiding their powerlevel?
Yes.
Is there a mod to get rid of clutch claw in IB?
is there a more optimal way to get the materials for new decorations other than going back and farming low/high rank monsters? or do i just smile and keep farming HR chumps and hope for drop rates? having to hunt 3-4 mons for plates and orbs and mantles for a single deco seems pretty nuts.
Because Espinas opened the frontier doors and fricked its haters, it's possible they would add this guy
In an update?
In an update?
Never ever.
They'd have to create or import a whole new skeleton for Raviente. Too much effort.
They are adding the Burst monsters.
Mah, they are gonna add these guys
Several them already have their base squeletons in Rise, it would be easy.
Couldn't be worse than Zorah Magdaros.
I've almost reached 2000 Hunts with Gunlance in Rise & Sunbreak.
Ok anons, I've seen enough shitposting, ACTUALLY red pill me on GL
its shit. Contrarians will say otherwise
It pokes
The monster explodes
>huge visual effexts
>tiny damage
>objectively the worst weapon
There you go. If you like making soiface at marvel trailers then gunlance is the weapon for you
I tried it in base rise for like 30 hunts but just didn't enjoy it
It's lance, but less aggressive, less damage, and more upkeep.
Gunlance grants you high defensive options, fast repositioning, and it's Shelling attacks blast through Monster's Armor.
Also, Blast Dash is fun.
Gunlance can do pokes like a regular Lance, and the regular guards are the same too. Shelling has the benefit of being almost entirely pure damage (plus a touch of fire damage that cannot be boosted by elemental skills) that can ignore most shitzones to a high extent.
Your have a repeatable attack loop of Rising Thrust into Overhead Slam and Full Burst, which fires all of your shells at once, both attacks will go into Wide Sweep, and then you use Quick Reload which goes back into Overhead Slam.
Gunlance has actual mobility in Rise thanks to Blast Dash, which can also be used in the air up to 3 times before landing.
There are 3 kinds of shelling types: Normal has the most ammo capacity, but lowest damage in all areas that isn't Full Burst. Wide had the lowest ammo capacity, but has the strongest regular shell damage and a level 2 charged shell attack that inflicts KO damage as well. Long has 1 less shell than Normal, but has the longest range of them all, the highest level 1 charged shell damage, better regular shell damage, and the highest Wyrmstake damage of the group.
Generally, the highest level shelling Gunlance is what you want to prioritize, but the difference in per shell damage between a level 7 and level 8 shelling Gunlance of all varieties is like 12-15 damage, which isn't a big deal. Just don't go down to level 6 shelling.
the only problem i have ever had with the gunlance is that it always seemed way cooler than the regular lance. It made me wonder why someone would take a normal lance into a hunt when instead someone could take a lance with nukes and bombing shells in it. Even though they play radically different, two lances feels redundant.
>power through monster attacks with groundsplitter
>mobility by fast reverse blast dashing after monsters
>full burst infinite combo for explosions
>can stay constantly on the attack shelling, stabbing and guard pointing with guard reload
>wtf is a shitzone
Sunbreak GL is pretty great, much more aggressive and combo potential thanks to EC being fast as frick unlike stake and reverse blast dash being faster than normal one too
EC is so much easier to land than Wyrmstake it's not even funny.
You're supposed to use the shortcuts to use the wyrmstake
It's pretty fun when you're constantly plugging the monster with mini drills
Capcom doesn't know how to balance Gunlance and GL players have convinced themselves that it's fine
>the autismo doesn't realize the more he shits on GL the more people will want to play it
Curse of a self-defeating loser I suppose
thoughts of gunners? i used to despise em but i tried hbg and its pretty fun, its way more mobile than other games, also love going full dakkadakka with wyvernheart
>always wakes up the sleeping monster with a light 70 damage attack
>kites the monster around the arena so noone can hit it
>dies in one hit then abandons quest
my experience with all ranged players
>GS wakeup damage - 9000
>GL wakeup damage - 11
>so obsessed with GL he doesn't notice the post has nothing to do with GL
Ok bro.
>defends every post shitting on GL
You must be tired anon
doesn't GL have a charge blast? why wouldn't they use that as wake up
Wyvern Fire is not one big blast, it's multiple hits. And only a single one of those hits will get the wake-up modifier. It's better to just place bombs and detonate those than to Wyvern Fire the monster.
Or, you know, just not give a shit solo and do whatever.
Ignore it, it's just a moron trying to shit up the thread with moronic weapons war.
You mean Wyrmfire? That's a multi-hit attack believe it or not. Best options for wakeup are Overhead Slam, Wide Sweep if you can do it without waking the monster, and Ground Splitter.
GL use Bullet Barrage, problem is that its a multi-hit attack and also before it goes off it touches the monster for a tiny bit of damage which is what that shitposter ment by >11
GL just can't utilize the multiplier well but its a free WF or BB still
>always wakes up the sleeping monster with a light 70 damage attack
that would be a dual blades user
Damn, frick you too
What's the worst weapon in the game?
The one you use.
Hammer
Depends on how you categorise worst anon.
>worst damage output
Gunlance
>damage doesn't scale as powercreep from title updates sets in
Gunlance
>worst weapon for multiplayer
Gunlance
SOS Flares ruined old style games.
Instead of doing turns, you literally just sit in your own private hub and just do join requests.
I'm guilty of abusing it as well, and so was everyone in world. How many times did you join a random lavasioth quest with no intention of ever fighting that shit monster only because the same on the SOS quest list was created 9 minutes ago so you figured you'd join for 2 minutes of work for some free loot....
SOS in Rise barely works so you're forced to use the classic-style rooms, in which no one ever says anything. Times have changed, people have been conditioned to not talk out of fear of ostracization or hurting feelings.
>sos in rise barely works
It's your internet, Black person.
Rise online is almost flawless.
Check if you have NAT B at least.
>Rise online is almost flawless.
LMAO
Black person, when y played world on pc it was fricking impossible to get a stable connection. Meanwhile, i can count with one hand the the times rise has kicked me from games.
Get a better internet, Black person.
Maybe your region sucks or something or my games are more prioritized because I'm playing with my brother so its always 2/4, but I literally always fill up my hunts in sub 1 minute.
Could be hunter connect as well? It's an option in the menus and I just added the first 10 that I was invited to that had space...
Is Rise region blocked?
don't know about switch but i think steam is locked to your download region
On steam matchmaking is apparently tied to your download region setting... Try something American for a better experience.
I've seen nips and stuff so I don't think so.
On PC.
On switch i can even play with chinks.
Wouldn't surprise me, i've been seeing regulars from time to time on PC, whereas on Switch it was practically a miracle if you ran into a mutual like.
Never because I only play solo.
Shit LS is actually really fun.
Is it possible to play world with friends? Literally every mission forces us to play solo. Does it get better in iceborne?
You can join the missions after watching the cutscene in both World and IB.
It's a baffling arbitrary decision but playing story mp is possible
But then you have to restart the mission and start again.
But cutscene shit is every fricking mission.
>But then you have to restart the mission and start again.
Friends can join as soon as the cutscene ends, no restarting necessary.
how?
only if they themselves watched that cutscene in their own instance
It's a dogshit system if you're trying to play through the game with other friends, something Capcom apparently never envisioned anyone doing
>only if they themselves watched that cutscene in their own instance
Ah, missed this since I only played with a friend after soloing myself. My bad.
you just need to see each monster for the first time once. So if you hunt a rathalos, you'll get a cutscene showing you how cool the monster is, then you get to play. So either hunt it, or just leave the mission and hunt it again. It won't have the cutscene a second time and now you have hunt rathalos forever without any gripe. Unfortunately, you need to do that with basically every single monster. So every time you hunt a new monster, you and your friend will need to hunt it solo, watch the cutscene for the new monster, then abandon the hunt and start it over to play together. It is shockingly stupid.
it's the cutscene shit that makes it annoying to play online. You need to watch the monster intro, then leave and start the quest again; your friend needs to do the same. I played MHW at launch with 2 buddies and it was pretty tiresome. Once everyone has gotten through the cutscene shit, you can play normally forever after.
Attack that tracks you and multi-hit attacks has no place in monster hunter.
>people realize what the MH franchise could be without being held back by chinese phone tablet hardware
>y r ppl mad at rise??????!?!?!?
lol
lmao even
How do you pronounce Ceadeus?
I’ve always said “See-Ah-Dee-Us” but just got bullied for it.
Sea-deus
Sea god
Seedy-ous
>Seedy-ous
Sneed-juice
do join requests run on a timer? i noticed if i send one 3 people join at once or nobody does
How worthwhile is poison attack up if i only plan to use it to bully kush? Not sure if i should bother since the cham dual blades have so much as is
>Gunlance is literally the best it has ever been
>Autismo starts shitting on it
Damn...
Shows you how bad it was before
And somehow still always better then Lance. Capcom fears the power of shieldchads.
I’m new to MH and I’m about to start a new game. I have chosen GS and I played a little bit of the demo on Switch but I have a question. How “good” guard on GS? Do you even ever use it? Like if I can’t roll out of the way will it protect me and take less damage or will I take full damage regardless?
With Stun resist 3 I guard tackle through most things. I saw a potential meta build that uses guard up to be able to tackle/counter through the 2-3 meme attacks that you can't naturally tackle through.
Guarding with the GS is only for emergencies.
It is just another option, but it shouldn't be your first one.
>GS guard
Not that good. You will take less damage, but it eats your stamina and you'll still be staggered. You'll want to tackle through attacks instead.
Guarding with your GS is still better than tanking the attack with your face. Stat-wise it's actually a really damn good guard, it just eats sharpness (unless you use the appropriate Rampage Decoration) and you can't really do anything out of it.
shit stat wise but sometimes you need to do it if you feel there is no other way to dodge an attack and are in no place to counter
I wonder how it looks now for SB
>gunlance has a high %
>because they knock everyone else away from the monster when it's downed
what a surprise lmao
Anon this is base rise, BB wasn't a thing and you'd have to be moronic to get hit by WF
>GL starts dilating WF right next to all of the actual damage dealers
>you're moronic for getting hit by it
moronic but also kind of based
No Denuvo removal, no talk.
How hard is it not to cart at least once in Sunbreak? Do people here reset the fight if they cart?
>Do people here reset the fight if they cart?
Only pussies reset if they cart.
Unless you're one of those time attack autismos, which is a different kind of homosexualry.
>most of the OP melee weapons have "counters" that last a whooping 5 seconds
Why do people not mention this gay shit, counters should skillful high risk high reward not this baby mode free long invulnerability, you don't even have to read the monster or time shit, just click whenever the frick you want to negate everything.
All weapon counters should have about the same length as the redirection skill.
The SA counter is sort of the most balanced of the bunch I'd say.
>the db counter lasts for 10 years
>except I'm getting whacked out of the air 90% of the time
Which weapon is cooler looking?
>300
Why is it so small?
>45% affinity
Gee I wonder.
as top dpser in the infamous XxXihunt guild i can without a doubt say gunlance sucks since it falls off dmg wise in later phases of monsters and isnt optimal in party setups all gunlance users should prob reroll RIGHT NOW
>laughing in white fatalis
You talk shit about the gunlance. But when my boy whitefatty drops in rise you will come groveling back and begging on your knees for me, and I of course will oblige you.
CORNPOPPERS UNITE!
GL players furious that people won't take their weapon seriously while standing with a cornpopper on their back
Never cared for Gunlance myself but all of the recent hatred for it feels forced as frick, not going to lie
>t. cornpopper main
I didn't care much about it, but it taking up nearly every thread now with shitposting GL vs way too many defensive replies for a weapon I don't give a shit about just bugs me.
I'd much rather see any other weapon type's autism for a change of pace.
>those kino japanese videos that always popped up with 4 gunlancers just doing cool shit in sync
Weapon was always kino. Ya'll are just haters. DPS meta shitters should go back to world and let us have ___FUN____
just about to get the game. is sword and shield fun
All weapons are fun, anon.
I’d get Legends Arceus instead Sword/Shield kinda suck
I don't know what gear to use with the gunlance
please help
how essential are guard and guard up
>Guard
Only if you use Guard Reload.
>Guard Up
Just Blast Dash/Reverse Blast away from the attack.
Get a level or two in Evade Extender.
Depends on your playstyle, but guard 3, artillery, load up and evade extender 2 or 3 are a must.
why guard 3?
Guard 3 is the sweetspot.
It reduces knockback and stamina depletion to te point you can block almost any attack without getting puahed back.
I honestly think Extender 1 is enough. Any more and it feels too easy to get out of position
geologist
botanist
use it for material and kamura point farming and show off your contrarian weapon on your guild card without having to go through the misery of playing it
full bazel is a perfect GL set before adding decos
>play CB
>think im doing ok damage
>SAED loadsa money
>air dash spam immortality
>streaming to eachother cause why not
>pay attention to friends numbers a sec
>crouch shot hbg
>50 50 50 39 39 50 50
>every like, half second
>wait what i thought 4 inches was average
This is how I felt once I saw a LS and DB in action compared to my IG.
Greatsword
Is quite fun
>15min hunt
just play gunlance if you're going to suck
>nooo stop having fun!!
have a nice day, speedtroony
15 minutes. Is the normal time for a solo hunt. Are you dumb?
>15 minutes. Is the normal time for a solo hunt
maybe if you have parkinsons
more than 3 minutes is cringe
you kid, but if you take 15 mins or more to hunt, then there is something wrong
>15 mins or more
haha, imagine taking at least 15-25 minutes... haha
>dont take dogs
>forget about fast travel
>stop to gather from every ore/bone i come across
>hunt small monsters for more materials
Hunts always take me 20+ minutes.
Laughs in bow
>capturing
no bro you're supposed to use all item buffs, the correct dango, traps and optimal skills every single hunt
why wouldn't you, what else would you do with these things?
hoard them?
You should off yourself if you take longer than an attosecond.
t. the dudes I play multiplayer with who have 9999 attack and defense and literally every single armor skill active
>9999 attack
At least they'll be able to hunt afflicted mons in a decent amount of time
not if you use gunlance
>9999 attack
>still takes 15 mins to kill the monster with gunlance
>tfw my hunts take on average 22 minutes in MR
Not carting at least :^)
Is there any chance of them removing/replacing a weapon in mh6?
no?
unless you consider something like Rise HH as “replacing”
They've already replaced two weapons.
frick nu-GS and nu-Horn
Whichever weapon has the lowest popularity in Sunbreak will be raped to death
i got a blue checkmark, what am I missing?
What's the best endgame Horn?
I can't decide between SnS, GS and CB.
Help.
Use them all.
I am still going thru the story so I need to decide on 1
SnS for status and elemental memes, GS for when you wanna absolutely rape a monster you know well, and CB for when you want ez mode hunts
I’ve been playing since World so I’m no longer a veteran and it takes me 20 minutes to hunt solo. I don’t think that’s a long time at all.
Next weapon will be a big boomerang that can transform into a flute to give us a hybrid range melee weapon that can morph and also has support capabilities a la HH in flute mode. Trust me my dad is the Capcom Janitor.
What a c**t
This was the first times in a while I've actually laughed out loud at something in a video game.
Great Sword user here. Anyone who uses the barrel bomb parry is cringe as frick.
You look like a fricking idiot.
That was not the image I wanted to post…
>look like and idiot
>deal 3 minutes of GL damage in one attack
nothin personnel
Yes, let me play suboptimally to impress some grumpy homosexual on v
Do it. Post results.
>barrel bomb parry
nani?
to trigger the new counter skill
>place small barrel bomb
>start your charge
>do your strongarm just before the bomb goes boom
>????
>TCS!
might have to try GS
Capcom better nerf this soon so bombs or your own items can’t trigger the silkbind.
They didn't 'fix' it for the LS counter during the entirety of Rise, why would they change that for Sunbreak?
>t.seething cornpopper main also using 2 wirebugs but hitting for 1k
what the frick is cornpopper? stop trying to make a new buzzword
https://game8.co/games/Monster-Hunter-Rise/archives/326913
i wish there was more silly weapons like that
The egg hammer could pass off as a legit nonjoke weapon.
>Entire Rise SNS has been using that to trigger their metsu
>Now it is an issue when GS users use it
????
use a small barrel bomb, immediately go into charge and strongarm. it will proc the counter and push you into a 35% buffed damage TCS (15% more on top with offensive guard)
When a monster is sleeped you put down a barrel bomb at your feet and use the GS tackle parry thing that boosts your damage to hit them for a huge wake-up attack
why wouldn't you take barrel bombs for this? it's legit 9k+ damage wakeup hit
GS got a new move in SB that lets it TCS immediately after the parry.
You can put a small barrel bomb and parry the explosion into TCS
The actual cutoff for being a complete shitter or not is 13 minutes and 24 seconds for a elder dragon hunt.
LS got nerfed but is still the best weapon for Sunbreak?
Bow has always been unironically the best weapon for the past 4 games at least.
Okay. Best melee weapon
That would be GS if we're not counting ranged weapons
Oh. Why is GS the best melee weapon in Sunbreak?
>best damage
>best kill times
>shitters suck with it
I think GS still has the fastest solo clears but LS is mega broken for just general use
Just hit 500 swaxe hunts, want something more capable for consistent iframes/counters because relying on 3 wirebugs and using the slow manual parry it got is not fun at like MR90
I don't use strong arm stance.
I don't use rage slash.
I am a charger through and through.
Frick everything else.
I miss the TCS shortcuts from IB
I still play draw gs
>play gunlance since 3u
>watch as the devs completely misunderstand it
>generations introduces a shitty mechanic
>iceborne actually made shelling better and took steps in the right direction
>rise nerfed shells and hid worlds damage behind a silk bind
i dont get why they suck at balancing this thing
I got picture of my cohoot and the baby in the nest.
Wheres the third?
Above Galleus and co.
It sits on one of the beams there, IIRC
Oh right the admiral's cohoot
>eyes glaze over when trying to ramshackle together an optimal meta skill loadout
>instead find a full set that looks cool and has some decent skills on it
