The talisman is 2 wex 1 crit ele and a 3 slot and crit ele 2 comes from a 4 slot deco which I can’t do for attack boost stuff, I’m not messing with the crit element aspect of the set. Maybe I’ll just get in mushroomancer for the lolz
you could just use the 4 slots for attack up 4 if you want max damage. otherwise if you're using any other glaive than last boss or valstrax, protective polish is probably very worth slotting in. evade extender 1/2 are also really nice for IG if you can fit it

It depends on the weapon, if you're running elemental phial you get a big chunk of damage from phial bursts, so crit boost is less valuable, but power phial it should be worth taking I think. If element probably just slot in a comfy skill and wait until you unlock the last boss armor, then try and fit in a point of dereliction and then you can use extra space for something like resentment. Due to the way dereliction works you have permanent uptime on resentment so it ends up being a significant raw boost

It's match up dependant, elemental is very strong at the moment, eg to dragon weak monsters ele phial death stench swaxe is the way to go. Dereliction gives you a significant raw boost, at the cost of your health being slowly reduced the entire time. The health drain stays as red bar damage and you can heal it up normally or with a scroll swap, which will heal the red part of recoverable hp

It's accurate, otherwise my friend's would give me shit when I tell one of them to step it up. If I say my friend did 35% of the damage and 20,000 points of damage, that's usually 99% accurate to what he can see on his side with it. I also make sure not to track monster damage so mounties can't try and pad their stats. Ailments are tracked, for the rare ailment-chad.
Ranged weapons are extremely gear dependent. It's not ammo, but actual armor skills and weapon tree that matter. More than any other weapons, the ranged ones feel like SHIT unless you're using the meta OP blow-it-out-the-monster's-ass SSS build. There isn't really a middle ground.
Don't forget > Narwa > Zinogre (slightly worse than narwa performance wise but has much better slots and rampage slots) > Aurora Somnac**t (worse than kush but has applications on monsters with huge elemental weaknesses like espinas)

I can't decide if I want to stick with advancing guard for the 3 hit leaping stab or guard tackle for constant poking. I've seen both used to great effect.
If you have sharpness issues, leaping thrust is better, since it's three hits for one instance of sharpness loss. If you have plenty of sharpness tackle's combos will deal more damage though.

rng decos only "lock up" skills if you have not played the game very much, and they fixed all the common complaints people were having in iceborne anyway. Like you pretty much just do the greatest jagras/lavashit quest and the tempered elder dragon event quests for rare decos, the rest are craftable. The issue I have with rise is that the rng god charms are far to rare to reasonably obtain without cheat engine and they can completely change your build. In world you'd only have that issue if you wanted 4 attack 4 decos for some reason

Charms enhance sets to make them stronger, gear is so insane in sunbreak that having a god charm doesn't really matter.
You can make attack 7, crit 7, wex 3, crit boost 3, wirebug 3 without a good charm.
RNG charms are fine when you know what charms are on the table and you could get dozens per 3 minute missions. Current charms have RNG on RNG on RNG due to the sheer variety
I've gotten some good ones, even great ones...but Not the one i'm looking for to complete the build i'm doing. Atleast one that's not better than my current one from Rise.
I think the only weapon I use where I use roll as an evasive maneuver is IG and that's because I still haven't found out what the counter move is for it

As a pea brain who hates delayed attacks and is so jittery with counters that they only work on Valstrax most of the time because he’s consistently swift, even i feel that this is kind of slapdash and removes a bit of the soul from each monster.
We're running the valstrax IG on the majority of fights, don't fall for the magia shit stick that people have been jacking off here. Specific element IGs can edge out valstrax if the monster has a high weakness to that specific element and is immune to dragon.
Not sure on armor, but I used the Ceanataur lance until I got to Malzeno. I heard the set you get for doing quests with Fiorayne was decent starting out.
Ive been using Knights Squire (Fio's set) and its pretty good for lance, gives you a nice amount of guard up and guard. Slots arent super flexible but I was able to put in the other skills I like for lance.
You can get Arlow's set too, its similar but more geared to gunlance and with even worse slots, but can be made to work if you have a halfway decent charm

You could still make great sets in world without having 7 attack decos, especially now that they're meldable with guild alchemy and "essential" ones are craftable. But in rise you will probably never get the attack 3 + slots charm unless you use cheat engine
its so good in rise cause it affects wirebug movement too which makes you just as fast as a dog at traversing map without needing a dog. now it even affects scroll swap dodges which is even more value shoved into this one skill
oh no you might have to settle for another charm that has just as many level 2 slots worth of skills on it

Azuros ls gives 330 and 2 level 2 slots and has purple, and the final story boss gives 340 with a lot of sharpness. So you can easily run protective polish on azuros (you need to with tigrex) or just use the other sword with absurd purple. Also furious george is better than azuros.

i dont think you need to farm afflicted too much. the afflicted mats are garuanteed rewards but average around 2-4 per hunt based on how many parts you break and shinies. the part thats irritating is that they are pretty much tiered off from you with 2 types of afflicted mats being linked to each abnomality rank.

If you want to unlock Switch Skill Swap, you can do one sunbreak mission and then farm HR if you're enjoying it.
You still HR while doing Sunbreak, so you don't need to grind it per-se.

your HR will passively increase while you do sunbreak story so you can easily come back and do all of the urgents back to back
would recommend at least doing the switch skill quests for the weapons you want though

The talisman is 2 wex 1 crit ele and a 3 slot and crit ele 2 comes from a 4 slot deco which I can’t do for attack boost stuff, I’m not messing with the crit element aspect of the set. Maybe I’ll just get in mushroomancer for the lolz
you could just use the 4 slots for attack up 4 if you want max damage. otherwise if you're using any other glaive than last boss or valstrax, protective polish is probably very worth slotting in. evade extender 1/2 are also really nice for IG if you can fit it

I honestly have no idea how element damage interacts with everything and how the SWAXE wants to optimize its damage with all that shit, all I know is phials don't crit and stack with raw
It depends on the weapon, if you're running elemental phial you get a big chunk of damage from phial bursts, so crit boost is less valuable, but power phial it should be worth taking I think. If element probably just slot in a comfy skill and wait until you unlock the last boss armor, then try and fit in a point of dereliction and then you can use extra space for something like resentment. Due to the way dereliction works you have permanent uptime on resentment so it ends up being a significant raw boost

It's match up dependant, elemental is very strong at the moment, eg to dragon weak monsters ele phial death stench swaxe is the way to go. Dereliction gives you a significant raw boost, at the cost of your health being slowly reduced the entire time. The health drain stays as red bar damage and you can heal it up normally or with a scroll swap, which will heal the red part of recoverable hp

It's accurate, otherwise my friend's would give me shit when I tell one of them to step it up. If I say my friend did 35% of the damage and 20,000 points of damage, that's usually 99% accurate to what he can see on his side with it. I also make sure not to track monster damage so mounties can't try and pad their stats. Ailments are tracked, for the rare ailment-chad.

Ranged weapons are extremely gear dependent. It's not ammo, but actual armor skills and weapon tree that matter. More than any other weapons, the ranged ones feel like SHIT unless you're using the meta OP blow-it-out-the-monster's-ass SSS build. There isn't really a middle ground.

If you have sharpness issues, leaping thrust is better, since it's three hits for one instance of sharpness loss. If you have plenty of sharpness tackle's combos will deal more damage though.

RNG charms lock away at most 5 skills, usable charms can easily give 3-4 and aren't very difficult to get

rng decos only "lock up" skills if you have not played the game very much, and they fixed all the common complaints people were having in iceborne anyway. Like you pretty much just do the greatest jagras/lavashit quest and the tempered elder dragon event quests for rare decos, the rest are craftable. The issue I have with rise is that the rng god charms are far to rare to reasonably obtain without cheat engine and they can completely change your build. In world you'd only have that issue if you wanted 4 attack 4 decos for some reason

3 attack + good slots are signifcantly more rare than the level 4 attack decos.
Charms enhance sets to make them stronger, gear is so insane in sunbreak that having a god charm doesn't really matter.
You can make attack 7, crit 7, wex 3, crit boost 3, wirebug 3 without a good charm.
RNG charms are fine when you know what charms are on the table and you could get dozens per 3 minute missions. Current charms have RNG on RNG on RNG due to the sheer variety

what’s an early master rank lance/armor? still using Narga at the moment
Not sure on armor, but I used the Ceanataur lance until I got to Malzeno. I heard the set you get for doing quests with Fiorayne was decent starting out.
Ive been using Knights Squire (Fio's set) and its pretty good for lance, gives you a nice amount of guard up and guard. Slots arent super flexible but I was able to put in the other skills I like for lance.
You can get Arlow's set too, its similar but more geared to gunlance and with even worse slots, but can be made to work if you have a halfway decent charm

i played base world for 500 hours starting day 1, not sure what to tell you. i got my first one slightly before they provided everyone with a free attack israeliteel, i remember that. it was complete bullshit and rng decos are a hundred times better. i don't even have a god charm in sunbreak but can still run great builds
You could still make great sets in world without having 7 attack decos, especially now that they're meldable with guild alchemy and "essential" ones are craftable. But in rise you will probably never get the attack 3 + slots charm unless you use cheat engine

its so good in rise cause it affects wirebug movement too which makes you just as fast as a dog at traversing map without needing a dog. now it even affects scroll swap dodges which is even more value shoved into this one skill

eh not rly. It's 350 with slight purple sharpness with -15% affinity and no slots right? Azuros ls gives 330 and 2 level 2 slots and has purple, and the final story boss gives 340 with a lot of sharpness. So you can easily run protective polish on azuros (you need to with tigrex) or just use the other sword with absurd purple. Also furious george is better than azuros.

All you need is evade extender and rapid morph skills. The switch skills lets you stay in sword mode longer and there's one that lets you do a follow up attack after zero sum discharge

i dont think you need to farm afflicted too much. the afflicted mats are garuanteed rewards but average around 2-4 per hunt based on how many parts you break and shinies. the part thats irritating is that they are pretty much tiered off from you with 2 types of afflicted mats being linked to each abnomality rank.
While its true that I am guaranteed a drop, I have like +25 weapons to max them to rank 10. Its ganna take a while.

If you want to unlock Switch Skill Swap, you can do one sunbreak mission and then farm HR if you're enjoying it.
You still HR while doing Sunbreak, so you don't need to grind it per-se.
just go straight to sunbreak
your HR will passively increase while you do sunbreak story so you can easily come back and do all of the urgents back to back
would recommend at least doing the switch skill quests for the weapons you want though

The fricking super buffed Los in general for rise. Even in High Rank he was obscenely strong for what he was.
The fight doesn't even feel fluid. At least I can hammer dance Rathian but Los flies around so much and constantly blasts huge AoE, tracking fireballs or huge landing shit it's just boring. Especially when the new monsters for the DLC are largely very fun.

I think he's still easier than previous games because he takes up so much time just landing after attacks, but some of his moves like the driveby fire breath come out so fast. I never really "learned" how to deal with him except lock him down with damage. Just think of the new cancer Silver can do.
