Shagaru a tier higher, but interestingly in the ingame monster catalog Shagaru's threat level is listed the lowest of Elder Dragons in the game, lower than Kushala/Teostra/Chameleos

Sunbreak is my first MH where I'm getting to this G/MR rank. How big leap in difficulty from high rank it usually is? Is it like getting to hr with low rank armor and taking shit ton of damage, but things get to more or less normal when you craft your first MR armor?
in terms of progression it's like going through HR again, only some of the new monsters are going to be a lot harder
HR valstrax should carry you until you're getting one shotted

In Rise, the heavy slam buff gives you increased amp gauge gain. In IB, it gives you improved stagger and part break capabilities in axe mode. It sounds like this update is merging them together and giving you all of these benefits now.

Savage Axe was fun when it actually complimented your kit and had a much more fun gameplay loop where you would transform in and out of both modes to keep them powered up, as opposed to just being locked in Savage Axe for 90% of the hunt.

One thing I kinda dislike about Rise over World is that it just cut out a lot of tiny details to get to the point faster, like stuff where your hunter takes off when moving out and you don't even cook your food at camps anymore. It's nice if you're in a hurry I guess but I liked these neat details in World because no other dev would dedicate animating these bits ever.
Those are exactly some of the reasons why Rise is better, World's bloat is endless, I still can't belive that I don't have to move an inch from the entrance just to get to a quest, those details are gorgeous.

Apex emergency event quests are meant to be done as challenges. To unlock the normal optional quests for the apexes, you have to be high enough HR + beat them in rampage once.
I will keep trying. I was able to do apex rathian without much trouble. I really dont like the rampages.

In Rise, the heavy slam buff gives you increased amp gauge gain. In IB, it gives you improved stagger and part break capabilities in axe mode. It sounds like this update is merging them together and giving you all of these benefits now.

Savage Axe was fun when it actually complimented your kit and had a much more fun gameplay loop where you would transform in and out of both modes to keep them powered up, as opposed to just being locked in Savage Axe for 90% of the hunt.

One thing I kinda dislike about Rise over World is that it just cut out a lot of tiny details to get to the point faster, like stuff where your hunter takes off when moving out and you don't even cook your food at camps anymore. It's nice if you're in a hurry I guess but I liked these neat details in World because no other dev would dedicate animating these bits ever.
Those are exactly some of the reasons why Rise is better, World's bloat is endless, I still can't belive that I don't have to move an inch from the entrance just to get to a quest, those details are gorgeous.

Apex emergency event quests are meant to be done as challenges. To unlock the normal optional quests for the apexes, you have to be high enough HR + beat them in rampage once.
Even chip damage from Blocking attacks will kill you if you're careless in Emergency Quests.
And I have Guard 5 slotted in.
