DE had the best writing in any game and there’s not much like it. New Vegas and Deadly Premonition have some great writing in terms of sounding authentic, believable and entertaining. I also really enjoy the Kingdom Come writing for being both historically and conversationally well done and entertaining.
For me, it's Disco Elysium and KOTOR (original). Don't understand people who shit on DE as a commie game when it's more about alcoholism+heartbreak. KOTOR 2 has some strong themes but the original was better as a whole

I don't care if people shit on the devs as commies or the commie elements to the story but it seems like a lot of DE threads get flooded with hate because of it. Right from the start of the game you're confronted with Harry's alcoholism, residual feelings towards his ex wife and blatant self sabotage. I strongly related to all 3 despite never being married. The story has so many moments that hit like a truck
