    > The Kingdom of Conscience will be exactly as it is now. Moralists don't really *have* beliefs. Sometimes they stumble on one, like on a child's toy left on the carpet. The toy must be put away immediately. And the child reprimanded. Centrism isn't change -- not even incremental change. It is *control*. Over yourself and the world. Exercise it. Look up at the sky, at the dark shapes of Coalition airships hanging there. Ask yourself: is there something sinister in moralism? And then answer: no. God is in his heaven. Everything is normal on Earth.

not him but i dont get the feeling to replay DE to try out a different build. sure, i can solve some situations differently (and maybe thats where the real joy lies) but the cryptid still rears itself as a key narrative point at the end of the game

        Anonymous

That it was just some characters calling on your choices of playstyles during the game but no actual consequence on what you did or how you played it. Hell, even COD BO2 had more choice and different endings that this RPG.
idk, it just felt really lacking at the end when you realize nothing of what you did really matters and it was going to end the same way anyway

No, what I mean is that the only thing hard locked behind time progression is the bridge getting repaired. Which is good that way, because the rolls on the second part of the island are harder.

They can't make games anyone actually wants to play, so instead they do this shit and pay for reviews.

I avoided these threads because I figured they'd be filled with spoilers, that was a mistake. It's easy to see a few OPs in the catalog every so often and think "oh, maybe that game is worth playing".

No, it represents 4 major ideologies and shits on all of them equally.
Whichever you pick, you become and ironic carricature representing it.

There's no "good" ideology option that you can follow and not act horribly to other people and be told off for following it. Nationalism is about bigotry, ultraliberalism (libertarianism) is about cruelty for the impoverished, communism relishes in mass murder, and moralism (centrism/neoliberalism) doesn't act upon problems, causing their exacerbation. Try to be neutral between and you'll get told off for being a fence-sitter.

it's about as communist propaganda as unsafe the vaccine is this is a rorsach test of how insane schizo you are

Every political ideology available in the game is criticized rather ruthlessly.

Communism, while given a fairer shake than most others, is jabbed for its naive if idealistic goals. And the means of reaching those goals is often brutal violence that hits the working class it attempts to benefit.

Fascism is attacked as a refuge for "nationalists" with a bad case of Nostalgia Filter, and all of the characters who identify with it are either socially backwards, deeply insecure, virulently racist, or all of the above.

Ultraliberalism (Libertarianism) is looked down on for its dog-eat-dog mentality of gaining wealth no matter how much pain is caused to the less fortunate.

Moralism (Centrism) is knocked for enforcing the status quo and leaves both sides of a debate unhappy, and the progress it supports happens so slowly that those who need help will never receive it in their lifetime. In addition, the story criticizes centrist thought for its warmongering tendencies in pursuit of the status quo. Notably, none of the previous three political ideologies is portrayed as outright "evil" (with communists being naive, facists being pathetic and liberals being self-destructive) but moralism is continually hinted to have a very malicious edge to it.

Thought Cabinet: Look up at the sky, at the dark shapes of the Coalition airships hanging there. Ask yourself: is there something sinister in moralism? And then answer: no.

I played this shit for the first time a week back, what a general waste of time. Zero consequences for anything, I even tried fricking up and perfecting the tribunal to see if it made any difference and it doesn't, aside from replacing Kim if you fail the easiest check in the game.

What made me the most disgusted is that picking the "racist" path gives you a thought that just hurts you whenever you pick the racist options. I guess the creators just couldn't suppress their hatred enough.

It's like Planescape: Torment if, instead of being an interesting fantasy world filled with intriguing concepts, it was filled with bland political commentary, far too many fricking words, and a tiny map barely the size of 1/5th of the first area in Torment. They didn't even have to work on anything complex like combat or npc movement or anything, all they had to do was write shit and make a few very low poly models.

finished this game yesterday. i failed basically every check in the tribunal, inclluding this one. but bloodbath aside i actually really liked having the ending with cuno.
i had a hard time getting into the game at first, especially while talking with joyce, but after getting familiar with the world i felt deeply involved with it and the people in it.
