I haven't had any problems with the newer xbox ones. Maybe gamesirs are slightly cheaper but I couldn't really find much for a lower price that didn't look like they would break after a week
I went with a gamesir. My Xbone controllers tend to drift after about 4 years of use. My old Xbox 360 wired is still pretty solid except with certain games with tiny deadzones like MHRise, in which it drifts on that as well.
Get a HORISwitch Pro controller off amazon.
It's basically a 360 controller except the dpad is excellent.
>8bitdo is actually perfect.
Notorious for their build quality issues, where the dpad registers the wrong inputs (diagonals), the face buttons stick into the shell and don't pop up, and many more.
Nobody liked the duke it's why controller s was invented and hypershit is still made out of chinesium.
buy a real 360 controller or don't, but please please please avoid the crappy 3rd party fake controllers.
I have the Hyperkin Duke (I rarely use, more of a nostalgia thing), but from what I've heard other anons say, Hyperkins are pretty bad for getting stick drift after a few months.
I would spend the $120 and just get another wired 360 because the build quality is going to be much better and also the dpad is fine stop complaining you've had 20 years to get used to it.
otherwise get a sex controller
The latest one is fine. But my issue with it is that bluetooth connections fricking suck with it. They want you to buy their exclusive dongle and while you don't need it, the bluetooth dongles you have will auto-disconnect with the controller sporadically which gets annoying real fast.
You might as well get a wired controller at that point.
I don't avoid them, I just used the old one for 13 years until it stopped working. I'd like to try out the newer ones (tho I don't know if they're actually better)
Microsoft has them on sale right now still I think. Buy it, try it, return it if you don't like it. Use Amazon if you want hassle free. Amazon Warehouse deals if you want a discounted open box unit.
a new SeX controller is going to be half the price, if you're lucky, of a new oldstock 360 controller unfortunately. I like the SeX controller, I do, but it's not going to last 20 years like the 360 pad and really the dpad is fine.
Yes. It's wireless via 2.4Ghz or bluetooth, you can remap everything, I've only had to charge it once in the two months I've owned it so far...I can't name a single flaw, other than the fact that visually it uses Nintendo button layouts.
PC? One of the GuliKit controllers with hall effect sticks. I'm never buying an Xbox controller again until hall effect sticks are on the standard version of the controller.
I really like my Xbox one controller, great for Helldivers 2.
Other than that hyperkin recently released a clone of the x360 controller, i don't know how close it's to the original although i really liked their duke the one time I've used it.
Are there any decent controllers built for on the fly remapping? With back buttons especially, it feels like the shitty PS4 addon was the last sensible controller design because you could tap a button to define what keys you wanted to map to the back paddles, instead of having to quit your game and go into some stupid assignment tool.

Some people don’t like the Series X concave clicks Dpad, but I love it. The textured grip on the back too.

8bitdo is actually perfect.
It even has programmable grip triggers and they're somehow more comfortable than the steam controller.

I haven't had any of those issues so they're clearly not guaranteed.
And I was wrong, I'm coming up on my fouth month with it.
i've seen you before, you're the only guy on Ganker that talks about sticking face buttons on 8bitdo controllers
>it has to be one guy, not that we're endlessly worshipping this one brand of controllers instead of buying other better chinese controllers
8bitdo has known quality issues. am I the same guy too?
you think 8bitdo is good because they viraled here. you are prey.
Bros, should I get this?
>willingly subjecting yourself to that gamepad for a second time but now with shitty hard plastic analog sticks
DO NOT buy chinese knockoff 360 controllers, buy the genuine article or just go get one from walmart.
Huh? Isn't the Duke re-release Hyperkin? I remember everyone (that likes the Duke) thinking that was fine.
Nobody liked the duke it's why controller s was invented and hypershit is still made out of chinesium.
buy a real 360 controller or don't, but please please please avoid the crappy 3rd party fake controllers.
the controller s was made for little Japanese boy hands. Duke is fine if you're not a manlet.
the controller s was made for deciding who to molest at halo tournaments and i can't recommend you purchase one
Horrible button lay-out and ergonomy. Get your head checked if a controller size is that big of a deal to you
>hyperkin
>chinesee

What compels a person to actively avoid nu Xbox controllers if they're already fans of Xbox controllers? They're so good.

They are expensive. Maybe if you are American they are cheaper but still

>$60
>Expensive
Buddy, that's the price of a NEW game (before they raised the price $10). It's cheaper than a new game.
They get stick drift super fast and their is law suits because of it
SO WHICH CONTROLLER IS GOOD??? AAAAA
this one
This one?

what a pile of shit, looks like a wii waggle pro or something
just buy a 360pad you know it will work for years
>$45
stop falling for that crap. Avoid all knockoff shit. You can already get a genuine official Xbox controller for the same exact price.

PC? One of the GuliKit controllers with hall effect sticks. I'm never buying an Xbox controller again until hall effect sticks are on the standard version of the controller.
I'll shill the Xbox Series X controller because like the other anon said the clicky D-Pad is excellent.
What's a good compatible controller for playing on 360 hardware? From my experience the official ones are too faulty.
Opinions on the KingKong 2 for use with switch and PC? I like my XBOX 1 controller, but I cant play motion control games with it
massively outdated, why would you buy something that old when newer similar products appeared
you guys need to stop falling for names so much, just because you have seen a name here doesnt mean thats the only thing you can buy
there are the flydigi controllers, gamesir, etc
If you're still here, I'd say the new Xbox controllers are good.
Do not buy new Xbox controllers. They have a button press problem that is unfixed
the good thing to buy now is chinese controllers from Amazon
I really like my Xbox one controller, great for Helldivers 2.
Other than that hyperkin recently released a clone of the x360 controller, i don't know how close it's to the original although i really liked their duke the one time I've used it.
it's accurate, they used the original molds from MS.
