I loved Pikmin 3 as well, but it just lacked some of the SOUL 1/2 has.
3 is the only game in the series where I consider the challenge modes to be superior to the main campaign.

Naruto Clash of Ninja 2/4
Unbelievably based. 8ing make the most fun fighting games.
I should probably mention that this game has a fanmade translation/rebalance that's used for tournament play called Super Clash of Ninja 4. There's a decent competitive scene for it, by licensed 6th gen fighting game standards.
I don't like Super Clash at all and I'm really into fighting games. They took away the ability to switch out in 3 on 3 in favor of a KOF style team match. They also gave everyone dumb as shit alternate costumes and took away their actual early part 1 alt costumes. Just play the standalone fan translation. I've talked to the guy who made it and he's pretty cool

That's pretty lame, they should at least allow both options. I've only seen it in a normal tournament context since it was at Combo Breaker and I thought it was cool by that metric. I do recall commentary mentioning that they also completely changed the way backdashes work though, that seems pretty major.

based, this game is fun as frick and I've never even watched Naruto
It's a fricking shame that in all the years since this game's release it still hasn't been topped by any other Naruto fighter.
What's really is a shame is that Tomy never got the rights back. Clash of Ninja Special on the Wii was rushed and had apparently 10+ characters cut like Pain because their license was about to expire and they had to give it to bamco soon. So their option was release it with less or never get the chance to. Real shame, I still prefer clash 4 but special is amazing.
Especially because all they ended up doing was using Ultimate Ninja Storm as a template for anime arena fighters for the next two decades.
This was the only good Naruto game thanks Y-canceling shenanigans while I had fun with the Kiba glitch/exploit by delaying Akamaru's lunge and having almost full control of the stage.
Mario Golf Super Rush. It is a game that manages to offer the subtlety and depth you would expect from a more simulation-driven game, but at the same time is enjoyable to play.

5's side modes were fun. I liked the dumb battle cars mode and remembered liking that mode that was basically an actual board game. But you're right, other than maybe 5-6 really good minigames (Coney Island, that Ice cave crystal chase one, the Jet Ski one, the one where you have to catch the falling flowers, and the goomba hotel one) 5 sucks. Best Gamecube Mario Party is 6, not even a question.

Other than the great atmosphere and music I have to admit I wasn't terribly impressed by Prime 1. Way too much back tracking and gating, "Magmoor Caverns" is literally just a straight line you run through an unreasonable amount of times. I liked Prime 2 a lot more because the world is so much better designed.

Hanging with the boys after a long week of school and staying up all night playing city trial is one of my favorite memories.
Free play mode in city trial was great as a little kid. I would play with my brothers and we would make up game modes. We did

Did anybody at all ever even play the dumb fricking Top Ride mode? City trial of course was the meat of the game, sometimes we'd play the regular races and the stadium games just for something new but out of the at least dozen people I played with nobody ever liked that complete garbage mode or wanted to play it. The controls sucked on both vehicles and the tracks were hilariously small.

City Trial is a great local multiplayer experience that can last a good few sessions but people talk about it like the best party game ever made. yeah those were the days. Unfortunelty when I got a 360, trading in old games to fund new ones was a way of life. I would go door to door doing little chores for the neighbors, use the scarps I would get and trade in old ones to get new ones.
I wish I still had my old collection. Rip Air Ride, Lugis mansion, double dash, prime, fzero, smash, windwaker, Mario party 4, etc.
At least I still have TTYD, Sunshine, all the sonic collections, both Zelda Collections, SAB2, both pokemons, and a ton of 3rd party games.
I have a hacked wii and a crt so I can't justify buying my childhood game collection when it would basically cost a whole paycheck for me, but I feel a bit of longing when I look at my half complete collection.
