This is pure PvE with long delays between story content so you can start whenever. If you paypig a teensy bit for the BP($10 three times a year for constant uptime), you can farm any SSR unit outright with pretty low levels of effort. All the old characters return so there's very limited amounts of FOMO compared to other gacha

It's completely fine as a F2P game. Any team composition that can fuel Faust's Fluid Sac EGO can clear all content. You won't be able to play with all the IDs available, but that's not necessary at all. There are multiple 00 IDs (the not "super rare" gacha ones) that are very strong, and even some of the base ones are good enough.
You pay tenbux for the battle pass every time we get a new canto and maybe a bit more for the daily 13 lunacy and you are done.
Just do dungeons and buy six strong units and some EGOs and you should be set off.
R corp Heathcliff is a god tier damage dealer
W corp Don and Ryoshu are too
Lobotomy Remmant Faust is good for a 00 and she feeds fluid sac by herself so you can have a healer.
Dieci Rodion for a good tank, if you get Rime Shank for her you can blast some encounters with sinking.
Dieci Hong Lu is great once you learn how to use it discard his level 3 skill so he get 3 insight, slot defensive skills but don't use them so he can't discard anymore, he now hits like a truck.
The One Who Shall Grip Sinclair hits like a truck but you can get fricked by sanity shenanigans.
There are more but those are good for general use.

Nelly was pure win rate fiesta. She was permanently at negative SEN so I could clash with her for days.
That wasn't my experience. I had three sinners staggered by turn 9 and couldn't do enough damage for EX so I read the passive/her skills and built a different slash and rupture team to do it.
It was still an easy fight but was basically the only fight in the entire game I had to retry because I was used to mashing win rate.
I got lucky and didn’t even notice the binds until the turn before I broke the last stagger threshold when I noticed my Gregor had 2 stacked on him already. I thought her only gimmick was the mark that increased the attack weight of her skills.

i think it would have been fine if it started playing for the first time on the roof, so you get the initial heathcliff solo, then the duet. having it play in the fight before nelly just reduced the impact of the rooftop fight.
I'm not a fan of the high meme peaks either. I think she's good mind you, but I like stuff like Children of the City and most of Compass. In some contexts it works fine though like Between Two Worlds
it works for between two worlds because the entire song is so frantic, for things like fly my wings or the ending of compass it's just ear-piercingly shrill and kind of ruins it.
heathcliff's solo ver of the duet is probably my favorite song in limbus since between two worlds tbh.
I like the slow early part of Between Two Worlds better but I feel like it has this really tragic Christmas choir air to it. Fly Broken Wings while lyrics/thematic wise is amazing, mili gets way to shrill for my taste at times and my favorite parts of her songs are usually when she actively chooses to do low notes

Agreed with this one. I'm all for including quotes; the way they were used in Ruina and Black Souls 2 was kino, but "Call Me Ishmael" and Canto 5 quotes felt tacky and out of place.

Lockwood unironically should have been a meme character who gets accidentally caught in the middle of everything. Have him be one of Linton's intended lab rats, and he spends the whole canto just nervously nosing in on every conversation until he gets dough'd.

I feel like the Carmen shilling was something they felt they were obligated to do and really it ended up being completely nothing.
There's a couple of nodes of padding here and there that they were better off without.
I prefer the story being more low-down without tying into a wider multimirrorverse but I still find it very cute especially with the scene of all the different Heaths/Cathys
I dislike how PM is forcing itself to hit these marvel-esque plot beats every entry. Stuff like we have to have a blue man show up and we need some character to join Herman's evil team of evilness gets boring after awhile. I'd much rather see the existing characters built up.

Linton being made out to be an entirely unsympathetic freak when the point of his character in the book is that he's almost too nice and too earnest of a person to serve as a foil to both Hindley and Heath. Twisting characters is fine but it's in service of making him a lot less interesting.
I think it's just a random sinner gets it, gives a bunch of clash power and puts heartbreak on Erlking if you win a clash with it

If you paypig a teensy bit for the BP($10 three times a year for constant uptime), you can farm any SSR unit outright with pretty low levels of effort. All the old characters return so there's very limited amounts of FOMO compared to other gacha

It's completely fine as a F2P game. Any team composition that can fuel Faust's Fluid Sac EGO can clear all content. You won't be able to play with all the IDs available, but that's not necessary at all. There are multiple 00 IDs (the not "super rare" gacha ones) that are very strong, and even some of the base ones are good enough.
You pay tenbux for the battle pass every time we get a new canto and maybe a bit more for the daily 13 lunacy and you are done.
Just do dungeons and buy six strong units and some EGOs and you should be set off.

R corp Heathcliff is a god tier damage dealer
W corp Don and Ryoshu are too
Lobotomy Remmant Faust is good for a 00 and she feeds fluid sac by herself so you can have a healer.
Dieci Rodion for a good tank, if you get Rime Shank for her you can blast some encounters with sinking.
Dieci Hong Lu is great once you learn how to use it discard his level 3 skill so he get 3 insight, slot defensive skills but don't use them so he can't discard anymore, he now hits like a truck.
The One Who Shall Grip Sinclair hits like a truck but you can get fricked by sanity shenanigans.
There are more but those are good for general use.

This canto was good about that. Every fight in canto V and prior you could just mindlessly auto but Nelly and the final fight at least required your brain to be functional to beat.

That wasn't my experience. I had three sinners staggered by turn 9 and couldn't do enough damage for EX so I read the passive/her skills and built a different slash and rupture team to do it.
It was still an easy fight but was basically the only fight in the entire game I had to retry because I was used to mashing win rate.
Nelly was pure win rate fiesta. She was permanently at negative SEN so I could clash with her for days.

i think it would have been fine if it started playing for the first time on the roof, so you get the initial heathcliff solo, then the duet. having it play in the fight before nelly just reduced the impact of the rooftop fight.
I'm not a fan of the high meme peaks either. I think she's good mind you, but I like stuff like Children of the City and most of Compass. In some contexts it works fine though like Between Two Worlds
it works for between two worlds because the entire song is so frantic, for things like fly my wings or the ending of compass it's just ear-piercingly shrill and kind of ruins it.
heathcliff's solo ver of the duet is probably my favorite song in limbus since between two worlds tbh.
I like the slow early part of Between Two Worlds better but I feel like it has this really tragic Christmas choir air to it. Fly Broken Wings while lyrics/thematic wise is amazing, mili gets way to shrill for my taste at times and my favorite parts of her songs are usually when she actively chooses to do low notes
