Are the DLCS worth the money, honestly? They don't seem to add THAT much content, certainly not enough to warrant paying more than the base game. Like, royalty maybe adds 5 hours of extra gimmicky gameplay to each play session. Ideology is cool on paper, but in reality is very limited and only offers maybe 3 or 4 different gameplay gimmicks, like woah I can be a tunneler colony, woah I can be a cannibal colony. Biotech adds the most but still, the xenoshit starts feels more like an afterthought after a few sessions. I haven't gotten the new one yet, but I've heard that it's very repetitive as well.

Start playing recently. When my colony is on the brink of death sometimes a stranger in black with good stats shows up. I sorta dont like it, feels like hes showed up in most of my failed colonies. Too obvious of a bone thrown to the player
Yeah, I don't like it either. In there settings, there is a "Dev mode" toggle. You can use it to delete the man in black.
Wasn't that an option? Just ban the "man in black" event when you make your run, before selecting colonists
