What was promised in the initial game that isn't in at this point? They've far surpassed the initial promise by now, and not a single drop of additional monetization.

Can you do anything you could possibly imagine? Because that is what was promised.

That's the line sony made them spout yeah. But every other specific feature that was promised is in the game at this point.

I believe online play isn't, they promised something like on destiny 2 where you are on a planet and you would randomly see people mining and stuff.

Is the core of the game still ">mine >sell >fly to new planet" or have they changed this? Because they can keep adding systems for all it matters, but it doesn't change how absolutely mindnumbing and boring this game can get. I just want to go shoot shit and fly around, not run around for precious metals or babysit a settlement.

It's a lifestyle game. You're meant to go to work and make money, then come home and relax with a beer and check out a couple planets before hubby makes dindin.

This game’s cultists will deny it, bt The main gameplay loops is still boring as shit. All the bells and whistles they’ve added have done little to change that.

        >The main gameplay loops is still boring as shit. All the bells and whistles they’ve added have done little to change that.
this. the actual core of the game is so simple you can play for hundreds of hours in your head, i played nms for probably 20 hours before i quit and now i can just think about nms and play it whenever i want, just think about the loop and keep looping with slight variations.

Looks cool but I keep feeling it's a drag to work my way up. I'd love to have my own capital ship but my original play through character still has some D tier dinky ship. Feels like a gatcha, there is a uphill slog to grind through but that grind doesn't seem worth it or fun.

If one of these days they fix the planet generation, and a few other basic improvements like auto-piloting from one planet to another, or meaningful economy and rewards, at least flying from planet to planet could be interesting.

The core loop is still too repetitive for the kind of variety the game has to offer.

If the repetitiveness was tied to proper procedural generation that made sense the game would be something else.

As it is now there is fun to have with it but doesn't last very long for most people.

Woohoo another pointless update that only adds more grind and busywork. Wake me up when the game has actual combat against actual enemies that pose an actual threat. When there's npcs that I don't want to kick in the face cause they look like some reddit tier abomination. When making a base on a planet actually serves a purpose and not just purely for shallow farming mechanics. This game could be something, but the devs keep releasing meaningless updates that add nothing but more micromanagment and pointless features. Fix the problems with the core game play loop first, then start adding things.

Pic unrelated but start going to the gym you slobs

Still no true coop. This could have been the only saving grace for the game and they still haven't implemented trading or coop-based progression.

An animal-crossing wannabe game just released on Steam not only has seamless co-op features and progression, but it also has LAN co-op in addition to proper online co-op. What a fricking joke.

why are there so many disconnected sub-systems in this game?
Each update added something new that exists within its own bubble. And why is base building so important in a game where you're constantly zipping from star system to star system hundreds of times? Wouldn't it have been better to make the ship your base instead of building shit on a planet you visited 500 jumps ago?
