Yeah, like Clodsire, Runerigus and Perrserker. Since Sinistea is specifically the 'Black Tea" Pokémon I suppose a regional variant of Sinistea is likely.
New Regional Variant evolutions always share more similarities with prevos (Perrserker having Meowth's body type, Runerigus being more serpentine with two hands) so I assume this is the case here.
>Grass/Ghost again
What a fricking waste. How many times are they going to shove this shitty typing on us? This is the 6th time they've done it since 2013, and I'm only counting evo lines. This one had better be a special attacker, that's the only way it can redeem itself.

>Weak Armor and Sleep Powder >Use Sleep Powder, probably will get hit by a quicker Pokemon before that but no problem because it will trigger Weak Armor and boost Speed. Hopefully your target falls asleep >Next turn +2 Speed and you Sleep Powder again

Yes, it's a convergent. A regional form would have to make sense as having a common ancestor with the counterpart that we know. In this case, we know exactly how it originated and sinistea was not involved.
>we know exactly how it originated
With that logic, there can't ever be more than one.
>we know exactly how it originated
We don't, it's just a story to scare kids.
You fricks never believe it until the pokedex confirms it in a mere month. Every time.
Irregardless, they're separate ghosts that both ended up possessing either a tea cup or tea itself, CONVERGIING on a similar look while not being related or having a common point of origin. Cry more. By your logic, any ghost pokemon that originated as dead humans are just variants of one another.
Covergents are actually different creatures, though. Diglett is a mole, Wiglett is a garden eel. Tentacool is a jellyfish, Toedscool is a mushroom.
Polteageist is tea, and Poltchageist is tea. They’re going to be related in some way.
We know how Banette came to be and yet it is related to Shuppet.

Why can't Polchageist have two possible origins?
Anonymous
It can, but it's not confirmed at this time. Based on what we know, coupled with Khu's calling it an rfake, it's safer to guess that that's what it is.
Polteageist and Sinistea already have different origins. Sinistea is from a dead person's soul and Polteageist can be born from Polteageist pouring into more tea. Poltchageist is already Sinistea's origin again
Are we even sure if the rfake thing was two Pokemon or was it just an assumption due to the other rfake lines? Because if it's just Poltchageist the 7 + 8 + 1 hint would make more sense >Ogerpon >Okidogi >Munkidori >Fezandipiti >Dipplin >Poltchageist >Blood moon
>at first we just had regular split evos >then came regional variants >then regional evolutions >then convergent species >now a convergent species that looks exactly like a split evo or regional evo would look like, despite having no actual ties to the original line at all
It's getting harder and harder to keep up with all these concepts
>It's getting harder and harder to keep up with all these concepts
There hasn't been a point for a long time. Baby Pokemon with dex # after their parents, new evolutions with even farther ones. Forms without dex # and some with dex #.
The best attempt you can make to follow the nonsense is something like https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_by_evolution_family
GameFreak is too dumb to redo the Pokedex order though because it would probably break their entire game.

Pic related are called "tree jellyfish" in Japanese, because people thought they looked vaguely like jellyfish. Toedscool is just a silly joke about how there are also mushrooms in the Pokemon world that look like Pokemon jellyfish, even though the two have nothing to do with each other beyond looking similar.

Moles and eels, and mushrooms and jellyfish have nothing to do with each other. Sandshrew and Alolan Sandshrew are both still shrews. That said Sinistea/Polteageist and Poltchageist are still both possessed tea/tea containers. So why they're apparently unrelated is beyond me. It's not like ghost Pokemon with different objects makes them suddenly unrelated since Galarian Yamask exists

The original idea of convergents was seemingly a way to reuse a design but in a way adaptation wouldn’t allow. Diglett can’t just start breathing underwater and Tentacool can’t just start walking on land, so their designs were reused in new mons as garden eels and mushrooms, respectively.
With Poltchageist none of that rationale is there. It’s just a different kind of tea in a different kind of pot. I can’t think of a reason why it needed to be a totally unrelated mon.

No. You know all of those Pokemon in gen 5 who are suspiciously similar to gen 1 Pokemon, but are completely unrelated? Convergents are basically those, except the similarities are played as a joke instead of trying to pass them off as original ideas.

Trying to make a Pokedex without nonsensical order is impossible. Best to give up on that kind of autism.
I need chocolate producing pokemon, imagine not giving a frick about pokemon battles but just traveling and camping with food producing monsters and live in peace
It isn't exactly what I pictured but at least it isn't a recolor.
Though I expect everyone to call it the worst thing to ever happen in the history of forever.
polteageist was one of the most forgettable pokemon in gen 8
this one is an improvement, I could probably actually remember it if you held a gun to my head
7/10
I like how out of the way they went to let you know that no one died. Even the old guy only passed out (we swear). The snoring at the end was especially funny.
With all this Gen 8 pandering I'm looking forward to the next Legends game where the only starter is Sobble with 3 new ultra gay evolution forms for Intelleon.
Getting traded a high level Polteageist from Japan over Wonder Trade was one the experiences that made me really enjoy SwSh despite everything, I'm liking this Pokemon.
If this is the pre evo what are the odds that it’ll pull a dartrix and change its type when it evolves so it’ll be fairy grass instead? its fricking zero isn’t it
Considering it's a tea caddy, if it did evolve again, there's not many likely options outside of items from a matcha tea ceremony. I'd say the most likely evolution would be the tea bowl holding the bamboo wisk.
Honestly seeing a modern-day smartphone in a tale told in traditional Japanese style with characters in traditional Japanese clothes was weird as frick
So what's this things deal? It feels like they had a million ideas and tried to cram them all in. "It's the anger of a strict tea master, it hates rudeness, it covered you in matcha, it sucks your lifeforce out, it like to crack matcha into holes!"
Like, if this thing hates rude people, why is it actually committing murder? That's a bit rude. Also, why does it fill holes with matcha?
>Also, why does it fill holes with matcha?
It's a reference to a Japanese pottery thing called Kintsugi, where instead of throwing away pottery, they'd fix it with a gold paste. Then people thought the sealed up cracks looked cool and it became a popular thing.
Frick off, they wanted Spain the use Spain.
Don't half ass the foreign regions then give your own country a massive blowjob.
Western countries would get shit on for this and Japan should too, do actual research on the country you're supposedly using. Don't take a vacation then spend dev time trying to shove in random Japanese shit.
If a European set something in Japan but turned everything into Italy that would be just as moronic.
I get the impression designs for new pokemon kept getting turned down so the creative team just went >Screw it, old Japanese men aren't going to turn down old Japanese thing >Summer festival candy apple, tea set, mask-theme, photography
Oh please, the only reason they're doing it is because nips can't handle foreign shit unless either >foreigners all jerk off japan with every other dialogue >half or more of the foreign thing is actually just japanese
The only reason they're doing the school shit is to jerk off Japan, stop being moronic.
If they wanted to go somewhere else, then how about Kalos? Not japan after we just got legends arceus.
Difference is, Japanese people don't care about Spain, but they're very into Italian culture, just like they're into French and British culture. Notice how there's plenty of Italian Anime characters while Spaniards are virtually non-existent. If we ever get a region based on Italy, there will definitely be more effort put into making it feel like Italy.
Yeah, seeing how they barely tried to make the game feel Spanish makes me longer look forward to a region based on Italy.
Did people already memory hole that the premise of the doc is that you’re taking a school trip to a place called Kitakami? Yeah it’s not gonna be based on Spain when you’re no longer in the region based on Spain.
The only Pokemon from Paldea I can see the Spanish influence in is the Lechonk line and the Smoliv line, and I wasn’t aware that pork was so popular in Spain until I went there in person. Even in just the base game it feels like we got a ton of Japanese themed Pokemon like Dondozo, Tatsugiri, Kingambit, and isn’t the hairstyle of Squakabilly supposed to be based on some Japanese delinquent stereotype?
Hell, two of the starters are obviously South America inspired (day of the dead + carnaval) and Meowscarada's masquerade theme is more French than Spanish.
Yeah but that's every post sinnoh region. Unova had bisharp, darumaka, the forces of nature
Kalos had shit like pangoro, the list goes on
This is a japanese franchise, and they are going to come up with japanese ideas. It's just more noticeable because we haven't been in a japanese region in decades
>but muh jap pokemon in spain!
did people never play pokemon? lots of foreign concept mons in Japan-themed regions, lots of japanese concept mons in non-Japan themed regions
>lots of foreign in japan regions
Barely fricking any you moron, BARELY ANY.
Meanwhile the majority of the Unova dex is japanese, and tons of shit in the kalos and alola dexes is japanese, and shit in the galar and paldea dexes is japanese.
Hell Japan actually dislike the nickit line entirely because it's not a fox with a Japanese design inspiration.

It's almost everything.
For being a region that supposedly is all about multiculturalism, seems kinda shiity to make so much of it Japanese.
Almost as if...as if...the multicultural shit was a lie so they could make the """""""first non-japanese"""""" region as japanese as they could get away with.
The starter trio already ruins the theme anyway. >all of the western world is just france >asia gets a Chinese rep which makes perfect sense
Oh but hold on >japan just needs it just needs a rep too despite supposedly leaving Japan and already having an asia rep we just have to have a japanese themed starter in samurott

>Almost as if...as if...the multicultural shit was a lie so they could make the """""""first non-japanese"""""" region as japanese as they could get away with.
thank god, bring back japanese kino. it's no coincidence that the quality of the games plummetted the moment they decided to make regions based on mutt countries

european knight >leavany line

flying squirrel
The timburr line uses a lot of aesthetics related to Japanese construction. Hydreigon's design is based on the Orochi and was going to have 8 heads but they decided this would make the design too busy and gave it 6 wings instead. Purrloin's a bit dubious but Leipard's got a lot of Japanese fox aesthetic. Deerling and particularly Sawsbuck's spring form follow the Japanese cherry blossom aesthetic. Emolga's Japanese name is Emonga, which is a play on Pteromys momonga, the Japanese flying squirrel.
Victini is based on the usagi ringo technique for cutting apples, moron. >american worker
Japanese worker actually, the devs specifically said the line was based on Tobi trousers japanese workers would wear.
Volcarona
Based on the sun tower in Japan as stated by the devs >karrablast
Devs stated the bug is based on rhinoceros beetles, let's not pretend japan doesn't associate them entirely with hunting bugs in japan >leavany line
Based on hikkikomori in Japan with leavany being the japanese trad wife mom >hydreigon
moron, that was the scrapped idea. The actual thing is based on yamata no orochi. >pidove
The first stage is generic pidgeon, the rest are based on species of Japanese bird. >purrloin
Based on doronjo, the successor to doronjo is also literally called leopard to make it even more obvious >deerling
Based on deer you find all over japanese parks you can feed and shit throughout the year >emolga
Based specifically on the japanese flying squirrel.
Also I love how even if you were correct about more than just the accelgor thing, not one was based on america.

that or it’ll just be a split evo from normal Sinistea
It'll probably just be an evolution for regular Sinistea, using an item you can only get in the DLC.

No way they do that. They literally gimped the Toedscool out of using status moves for that reason.
Sleep moves from +2 speed is nothing new, like from Chlorophyll. Toedscruel's ability gimped it because it's got Spore from 100 base speed.
groudongays are eating good rn
Yes, it's a convergent. A regional form would have to make sense as having a common ancestor with the counterpart that we know. In this case, we know exactly how it originated and sinistea was not involved.
>he thinks the spooky legend told to children is the canon backstory
anon…
You fricks never believe it until the pokedex confirms it in a mere month. Every time.
Irregardless, they're separate ghosts that both ended up possessing either a tea cup or tea itself, CONVERGIING on a similar look while not being related or having a common point of origin. Cry more.
By your logic, any ghost pokemon that originated as dead humans are just variants of one another.
But if we already know its "origin," then it shouldn't evolve.
Covergents are actually different creatures, though. Diglett is a mole, Wiglett is a garden eel. Tentacool is a jellyfish, Toedscool is a mushroom.
Polteageist is tea, and Poltchageist is tea. They’re going to be related in some way.
Both are unrelated ghosts though. Even with what they physically manifest as, one is the teapot and the other is the actual tea.
We know how Banette came to be and yet it is related to Shuppet.
So Banette has two possible origins.
Why can't Polchageist have two possible origins?
It can, but it's not confirmed at this time. Based on what we know, coupled with Khu's calling it an rfake, it's safer to guess that that's what it is.
This. It'll either be a split evo or regional form.
>we know exactly how it originated
With that logic, there can't ever be more than one.
>we know exactly how it originated
We don't, it's just a story to scare kids.
Polteageist and Sinistea already have different origins. Sinistea is from a dead person's soul and Polteageist can be born from Polteageist pouring into more tea. Poltchageist is already Sinistea's origin again
Those don't contradict you fricking moron.
Did I just witness a bunch of people die
They just fainted
I thought this thing looked like ass at first but if it can even repair TINKATON’S HAMMER then that’s a god damn game changer
Why this isn't a split evo for Sinistea is beyond me. We already have Dipplin that looks more like the preevolution than the other one
They are little buddies
Cute
I don’t know my tea lore, why does it carry around a little stick?
To stir
It is the spoon for taking matcha powder
It's a bendy straw.
So will its pre-evo be
>regular Sinistea
>Kitakamian Sinistea
>Sinistcha (convergent species)
?
Or it is the pre evo
Are we even sure if the rfake thing was two Pokemon or was it just an assumption due to the other rfake lines? Because if it's just Poltchageist the 7 + 8 + 1 hint would make more sense
>Ogerpon
>Okidogi
>Munkidori
>Fezandipiti
>Dipplin
>Poltchageist
>Blood moon
But if Poltchageist is just a split evo of Sinistea, why would Khu even call it an "rfake"?
Khu never gives anything but vague hints for people to look too deep into.
It's just an rfake of one member of the line
>at first we just had regular split evos
>then came regional variants
>then regional evolutions
>then convergent species
>now a convergent species that looks exactly like a split evo or regional evo would look like, despite having no actual ties to the original line at all
It's getting harder and harder to keep up with all these concepts
>It's getting harder and harder to keep up with all these concepts
There hasn't been a point for a long time. Baby Pokemon with dex # after their parents, new evolutions with even farther ones. Forms without dex # and some with dex #.
The best attempt you can make to follow the nonsense is something like https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_by_evolution_family
GameFreak is too dumb to redo the Pokedex order though because it would probably break their entire game.
What forms have their own dex number?
Convergents
Those aren't forms.
Too bad that name doesn't actually work for these since they don't have a common ancestor. I understand not wanting to call them parallel pokemon, but we gotta come up with an actual name for these that aren't nintendo's *official* name "new pokemon that coincidentally look like old pokemon but have no relation"
>Too bad that name doesn't actually work for these since they don't have a common ancestor.
That's literally the definition of convergent
>Too bad that name doesn't actually work for these
Like how Alolan Sandshrew and Sandslash don't have anything to do with sand or ground?
Those are anagrams
Do you know what an anagram is anon?
They were normal Sandshrew and Sandslash who used to live in sand, but a volcano destroyed their habitat and forced them to frick off to the mountains, so they adapted for snow digging.
Why were they not called Snowshrew and Snowslash then?
And that's not a convergent species with it's own dex # because?
>They were normal Tentacool and Tentacruel who used to live in water, but a drought destroyed their habitat and forced them to frick off to the land, so they adapted for walking.
>They were normal Diglet and Dugtrio who used to live in dirt, but a flood destroyed their habitat and forced them to frick off to the beaches, so they adapted for water.
>>They were normal Tentacool and Tentacruel
>>They were normal Diglet and Dugtrio
That's what makes them convergent species. They weren't normal Tentacool or Diglett.
And yet somehow they still have tentacles and dig like the original name implies. Still doesn't make sense for Sandshrew/Sandslash.
You know the real answer is that GameFreak changed their mind and decided that they wanted to increase the Pokedex number after all and that's it.
>And yet somehow they still have tentacles and dig like the original name implies
And somehow penguins have flippers. Are they really the long-lost cousins of fish?
>And yet somehow they still have tentacles
It's mycelium, aka the actual mushroom rather than the fruiting bodies aboveground
>and dig like the original name implies
A trait that so many unrelated things in the animal kingdom share it's foolhardy to try and point out as an indicator of similarity.
They literally weren't.
It's not like ghost Pokemon with different objects makes them suddenly unrelated since Galarian Yamask exists
https://scarletviolet.pokemon.com/en-us/pokemon/poltchageist/
English site is up, it's convergent. Even though I think it's a dumb idea because they're both tea.
Aren't both of their teas based off different plants though. Wouldn't that be like arguing that Diglet and Wiglet should be the same as they're both animals?
It's the same ghost.
I mean it's a species, not a singular entity, so I'm not sure how it would be "the same ghost".
I'd argue that the bigger difference is that the new one seems to be an "object come to life" type youkai, while the old one was just a ghost who liked to hang out in teapots.
I guess they figured possessed matcha powder makes it totally different from possessed tea since most Ghost objectmons are souls possessing different objects
Still kinda bs. Might as well make it completely unique
Are convergent Pokémon just "regional forms but they get their own names"
Poltchageist is regional Sinistea but has Polteagist name, it probably won't evolve
>regional
Convergents are basically those, except the similarities are played as a joke instead of trying to pass them off as original ideas.
>tfw people shat on gen 5 for doing it but praise gen 9 for doing a significantly lazier version of it
Not at all
Machamp and Conkeldurr have no similarities except for being strong, one is a fighter first and foremost the other is a construction worker first.
Boldore/Geodude share nothing in common but being rock based.
The similarities were intentional as a soft reboot, not that the mons are related.
I thought it was an evolution.
>polteagheist posses a fluid
>this mon posses a plant(powder)
now we need a ghost mon that posses fire
ah, and incense pot
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incense_in_Japan#K%C5%8Dd%C5%8D
Convergent traits on species are ones that DON'T have a common ancestor (or the common ancestor is so far back down the evolutionary line as to be a proto-species from which a frickton of others diverged anyways) but still ended up localizing on the same traits for one reason or another.
pic related
Don't forget Paradox shit that could use the same dex number and doesn't.
Trying to make a Pokedex without nonsensical order is impossible. Best to give up on that kind of autism.
What about Dipplin's evo?
That's indigo disk
I need chocolate producing pokemon, imagine not giving a frick about pokemon battles but just traveling and camping with food producing monsters and live in peace
Comfy
>it's just another haunted nutella pot
Okay /vp/, rate this little mass murderer out of 10
WHERE IS THIS SCREENSHOT FROM THE ENGLISH SITE HAS JACK SHIT
It’s a cute little fricker, gonna go get some matcha for lunch to celebrate the new ghostmon.
probably a 6 or 7, not bad by any means, just kinda not as exciting as it would be if it were wholey original might use it on my team
It isn't exactly what I pictured but at least it isn't a recolor.
Though I expect everyone to call it the worst thing to ever happen in the history of forever.
it's whatever, more disappointed about the typing
meh/10
0/10
It doesn't exist in my mind and it'll be forgotten really quickly. I need another hobby
Meh. I wish they did something else but I don't hate it
polteageist was one of the most forgettable pokemon in gen 8
this one is an improvement, I could probably actually remember it if you held a gun to my head
7/10
>Shell Smash
>Polteageist sweeps your entire team!
>Antique form
>James Turner
sure..
This is about the only thing I associate Polteageist with.
cute
Would be more likeable if it was a Sinistea evo
I like how out of the way they went to let you know that no one died. Even the old guy only passed out (we swear). The snoring at the end was especially funny.
Holy shit it was with us all along
How come it didn’t make it into the base game?
Why would GameFreak do that when they can remove content from the base game to sell as DLC for more money?
Can't remove what was never added.
I assume that it's a region evo since it share a similar name to Polteageist and it might further evolve into
That pot in the background
I don't see it
The pot’s cracks in the background was repaired with matcha powder
Cool design, but I don't get what is this thing supposed to be. Is it just a regional form or is it a convergent species?
It’s a split evolution of Sinistea
>people say it killed group of kids
>but they only fallen asleep...
>re-watch the trailer
>it actually fricking killed people
I bet youtube is now like; "Haha it's only playing that way"
With all this Gen 8 pandering I'm looking forward to the next Legends game where the only starter is Sobble with 3 new ultra gay evolution forms for Intelleon.
How will it be different from other grass ghosts?
It has a special ability that places matcha powder when hit by a physical move
I don't think I want live in pokemon world anymore, it's literally post apo survival world
It took you untill now to realize that?
I guess I was blinded by comfy aspects
>Seals up Tinkatr00n's axe wound
Nothing personnel bro.
>axe
it's a hammer, moron
newbie
/pol/ack
Getting traded a high level Polteageist from Japan over Wonder Trade was one the experiences that made me really enjoy SwSh despite everything, I'm liking this Pokemon.
If this is the pre evo what are the odds that it’ll pull a dartrix and change its type when it evolves so it’ll be fairy grass instead? its fricking zero isn’t it
Whoever thought this thing was going to turn into grass/fairy is moronic. I don't know why people kept saying it was.
It was wishful
Was just people with "convergents can't share the same type with the original" autism
Considering it's a tea caddy, if it did evolve again, there's not many likely options outside of items from a matcha tea ceremony. I'd say the most likely evolution would be the tea bowl holding the bamboo wisk.
Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse
Honestly seeing a modern-day smartphone in a tale told in traditional Japanese style with characters in traditional Japanese clothes was weird as frick
Well there was a timeskip after the old man's death
That's just lighting
>the lighting makes a single spot out of three appear to have an empty, perfectly circular space in the center of it
Yes.
Is it liquid? I think its dust
that IS dust
FRICKING KALART
>Cha tbh
Heh, I like it. English name didn't translate well enough
Yea you dumbass
Then people thought the sealed up cracks looked cool and it became a popular thing.
>my 2 yen pot broke
>better fix it with 15000000 yen gold
How did that even happen
The idea is that you make something broken more beautiful and/or valuable by including gold.
Huh, well I learned something new today, thanks
wtf
Frick Game Freak
Well at least it's not just green Polteageist. Already better than Wugtrio and Toedscruel
>Even more nipponwank
Was it really that much to ask for some actual Spanish representation in this game based on Spain?
It's a Japanese franchise, just get over with it.
I get the impression designs for new pokemon kept getting turned down so the creative team just went
>Screw it, old Japanese men aren't going to turn down old Japanese thing
>Summer festival candy apple, tea set, mask-theme, photography
>NOOOOOOOOOO YOU CANT GO TO A SCHOOL TRIP IN ANOTHER REGION. STOP. STOP. IT SHOULD BE ILEGAL. IM GOING INSANE
Yes, Spanish kids go on school trips to Japan all the time.
Oh please, the only reason they're doing it is because nips can't handle foreign shit unless either
>foreigners all jerk off japan with every other dialogue
>half or more of the foreign thing is actually just japanese
The only reason they're doing the school shit is to jerk off Japan, stop being moronic.
If they wanted to go somewhere else, then how about Kalos? Not japan after we just got legends arceus.
Don't say anything anti Japanese here anon, you can get banned.
Deny warcrime now
If we went to Kalos they’d have to bring back Megas, and that’s not happening.
it could be South Kalos where they dont do as the north part like ww2 and dont use mega
They hate the Spanish
Please dear Lord let this franchise return to being Japanese instead of being global brand westernized slop.
anon-san, pokemania was a global thing
Yeah, seeing how they barely tried to make the game feel Spanish makes me longer look forward to a region based on Italy.
They dont care about anyone but themselves, the french and british regions were also shit
More like they have to go
>here's shitty non-japanese thing we barely tried on
>OHHHH SUGOI tbh SUPERIOR NIPPON THING WE ACTUALLY PUT EFFORT INTO
Japan is the absolute worst country for doing this shit, and people just enable it because HAHA LE FUNNI.
Did people already memory hole that the premise of the doc is that you’re taking a school trip to a place called Kitakami? Yeah it’s not gonna be based on Spain when you’re no longer in the region based on Spain.
At least you were able to have a spanish starter
>unova starters use fricking FRANCE as the western representative in the America region
You can guarantee if they actually do some shit for unova there's zero chance they make the trailer inspired by those fearsome critter drawings.
>unova form/convergent/who cares
> shitmon made even worse with zero attempt to look good
>the one good looking mon is made entirely based on Japan
So which is the "actual" face? The swirl on the liquid inside the caddy or the face on the caddy itself?
Both, same with sinistea. The expression on the cup/pot can change
spain region by the way
The only Pokemon from Paldea I can see the Spanish influence in is the Lechonk line and the Smoliv line, and I wasn’t aware that pork was so popular in Spain until I went there in person.
Will there be authentic versions of these too?
>but muh jap pokemon in spain!
did people never play pokemon? lots of foreign concept mons in Japan-themed regions, lots of japanese concept mons in non-Japan themed regions
>lots of foreign in japan regions
Barely fricking any you moron, BARELY ANY.
Meanwhile the majority of the Unova dex is japanese, and tons of shit in the kalos and alola dexes is japanese, and shit in the galar and paldea dexes is japanese.
Hell Japan actually dislike the nickit line entirely because it's not a fox with a Japanese design inspiration.
>Meanwhile the majority of the Unova dex is japanese
>Samurott
>Musharna
>Throh/Sawk
>Darmanitan
>Zoroark
>Jellicent
>Chandelure(?)
>Mienshao (more like Chinese)
>Tornadus/Tundurus/Landorus
>Reshiram/Zekrom
that's all
pawniard and bisharp too
And Meloetta
>greek muse
>danish fairy fale
?
Japanese Idol.
Are you moronic?
>victini
>timburr line
>volcarona line
>shelldur evo
>karablast
>leavany line
>hydreigon line
>pidove line
>purrloin line
>deerling line
>emolga
It's almost everything.
Add the elemental monkeys too.
For being a region that supposedly is all about multiculturalism, seems kinda shiity to make so much of it Japanese.
Almost as if...as if...the multicultural shit was a lie so they could make the """""""first non-japanese"""""" region as japanese as they could get away with.
The starter trio already ruins the theme anyway.
>all of the western world is just france
>asia gets a Chinese rep which makes perfect sense
Oh but hold on
>japan just needs it just needs a rep too despite supposedly leaving Japan and already having an asia rep we just have to have a japanese themed starter in samurott
>Almost as if...as if...the multicultural shit was a lie so they could make the """""""first non-japanese"""""" region as japanese as they could get away with.
thank god, bring back japanese kino. it's no coincidence that the quality of the games plummetted the moment they decided to make regions based on mutt countries
>victini
statue of liberty
>timburr line
american worker
>volcarona line
egiptian god
>shelldur evo
Accelgor could be japanese
>karablast
european knight
>leavany line
tailor
>hydreigon line
german tank
>pidove line
city bird
>purrloin line
cat thief
>deerling line
nordic myth
>emolga
flying squirrel
?
Volcarona
Based on the sun tower in Japan as stated by the devs
>karrablast
Devs stated the bug is based on rhinoceros beetles, let's not pretend japan doesn't associate them entirely with hunting bugs in japan
>leavany line
Based on hikkikomori in Japan with leavany being the japanese trad wife mom
>hydreigon
moron, that was the scrapped idea. The actual thing is based on yamata no orochi.
>pidove
The first stage is generic pidgeon, the rest are based on species of Japanese bird.
>purrloin
Based on doronjo, the successor to doronjo is also literally called leopard to make it even more obvious
>deerling
Based on deer you find all over japanese parks you can feed and shit throughout the year
>emolga
Based specifically on the japanese flying squirrel.
Also I love how even if you were correct about more than just the accelgor thing, not one was based on america.
You know the country unova is supposedly entirely based on?
>You know the country unova is supposedly entirely based on?
American culture is comes from other cultures. What American things do you want that you didn't already associated with japan anyway? There's Braviary and Mandubuzz.
Japanese culture is American
nips arent Black folk worshiper
>Bringing up nigs out of nowhere
Lol ok Black person lover
I guess you haven't been in the last ten years?
>deer is japanese culture
Yes, Deer only exist in Nara Park.
Most of these are reaching anyway
>statue of liberty
thats a french thing
Ramen is a chinese thing yet it's almost entirely associated with Japan.
The statue of liberty was actually made with the slaves being freed in the US in mind so kinda a bad comparison.
>barely
>Hell Japan actually dislike the nickit line entirely because it's not a fox with a Japanese design inspiration
citation needed
Literally just go online and that's the explanation why they don't like the line.
>nickit has a japanese aesthetic
>they threw it away for something western instead of the 8th japanese themed fox mon 🙁
Is one that particularly stood out to me.
>doesn't provide any citation
>trust me bro
of course
>japanese aesthetic
>literally looks like a masked burglar
Are you moronic?
You don't see the white kabuki-esque markings on nickit?
Japanese fanbase thought it would become another Japanese fox, then got mad because they were wrong.
What citation do you want? The line is extremely unpopular moron, there's no poll all you have to go off of are what the few people talking about it have to say and that's what they're saying.
so you have no claims then
there are lots of unpopular shit in pokemon why is this suddenly special in being unpopular
>kabuki
have you actually seen them? you're confusing zorua to nickit
Here got bored because there were so fricking many so this is all you get.
Yeah I think I'm gonna say you're right on this one, a shame that means if thievul gets anything in the future it's guaranteed to be more nip wank.
>myth of america bringing foxes from UK
>UK bringing foxes with them around their colonies
>nah just make it a generic kitsune ninetales 2 🙂
Fanbase would unironically call it genius.
Have you?
Do you unironically think the white markings on Nickit or the eye shape with the wisp is actually western inspired? lmao.
Source on the japs?
Yet, you can't take a few minutes to do exactly that. Curious.
Why did it kill all those people? For the lulz?
It did it for the epic winz
They were going to an hero anyways after being stuck in this series.
Even Ghost Pokemon can die and need sustenance. You think all of those ghostmons are absorbing life force for the lols
>make regional form
>arbitrarily separate it from the original pokemon so I can make the dex look bigger
>throw in some quick flavor text bullshitting a vague explanation as to why it's not the same mon
>my loyal fans will now fight tooth and nail to claim I am an unparalleled genius and that there is no possible way I could have implemented or illustrated this concept in a better way
>all those tertiaries absolutely unaware that convergent evolution is a real thing first
wow.
biology and taxonomy has never been a strength for pokegays anon, you know that
real life convergent evolution is leagues more interesting than the shitty execution pokemon goes with
What a nonense response, stop using chat gpt for your meme, homosexual
cope and seethe, ESL
They're literally scraping the bottom of the barrel now holy shit. The constant pandering to cringe homosexuals that keep liking crap like this is the reason why I have bailed on this shit show of a franchise.
So does it evolve or what? Why is it being compared to Sinistea if it doesn't?
I remember there was a leak about matcha convergent polteageist. Any anon has the rest of the leak?
https://twitter.com/Riddler_Khu
i thought we killed james turner!?!?
Aren't we supposed to be in Spain?
kitakami is japanese stylized
Japanese franchise; deal with it
No. You're on a school field trip to Japanland. Pay attention.
Not for the first dlc
>GameFreak dedicated an entire trailer to demonstrate that we're never getting a Rock/Ghost type.
Lmfao it just KEEPS HAPPENING
So this shit was leaked ages ago right? What else was in that leak now it's legit.
There is likely a Dipplin evo or Sandaconda evo.
the tokusatsu mask
Website updated https://scarletviolet.pokemon.com/en-us/pokemon/poltchageist/
So what's the point of adding cross gen evolutions to Gen 8 Pokemon now of all times?
Why do we need a third Applin evolution?
Why do we need a Japanese Polteageist?
Why did the fricking urinal dragon of all Pokemon get an evolution?
they are out of ideas nothing new
they wanted a japanese tea pokemon and a candy apple pokemon for the new japanese location and festival. they wanted a bridge for the futuristic underwater school hinting at unova the region with five hundred bridges
where are the yakisoba and takoyaki or the fish scoop or water baloon game
>fish scoop
We know there was a Magikarp-like Pokemon cut from the game pretty late in production, which may have been moved to the DLC. There was also pic related in PLA.
he looks so happy
They might just put Goldeen in since they already have it for a goldfish pokemon.
Why not? It sold very well.
>Why do we need a third Applin evolution?
>Why do we need a Japanese Polteageist?
See
Why did the fricking urinal dragon of all Pokemon get an evolution?
Dura is a failed shillmon and they want to try again because its tied to a popular character from gen8.
he cute.
but this is like the 12th grass/ghost type now.
why not rock/ghost?
can you count?
no, but immediately gourgeist, trevenant, decidueye and the gen 9 tumbleweed thing come to mind
Just had a massive shit lads
prove it
How massive?
8 inches or so. Half is down the bowl
That's crazy that Yokai Watch has been influencing Pokemon since gen 7.
DQ did it since gen1
>yokai watch invented japan
also my favorite kabuki
i wonder if they used more Tatsunoko ip in Pokemon like Karaas, Gatchaman or the fat genie
The name is throwing me off
They are comparing it to Sinistea, but it's taking Polteageists name.
Is it a one off? Will it evolve? Or is it already evovled?
