I loved this and thymesia. The taiwan people really got the horror sekiro combat down and all done by 5 ppl in a basement. Thymesia lacks the story and characters though, but the combat they nailed perfectly.
Not to suggest that they have a thing for each other, but the game certainly doesn't seem to imply that Solarians find that sort of romance even remotely taboo. It really wouldn't surprise me if that ended up happening if shit didn't go the way it did.
Yi and Eigong fricked up big, but let's talk about pic related for a hot minute: >witnessed the rise and fall of dynasties >can divine the future >willing to lie his immortal twink ass off to fulfill his prophecies >with this experiences, knowledge, and prescience, allows Eigong access to his immortal DNA >all the while hanging out on the sidelines smiling gayly waiting for a glorious end to come his way
Don't know if I count, but I just finished the true ending, took me about an hour. She is certainly a jump from the other bosses. Phase 2 gave me more trouble than phase 3.
phase 3 is juts phase 2 with some extra flashy moves and the best track in the game
By the time you can hit phase 3 consistently, you're good enough to clear the boss
*hits pipe*
I cannot think or comprehend of anything more cucked than having an apeman. Honestly, think about it rationally. You are feeding, clothing, raising and rearing another species for at least 500 years solely so they can go and ravage another world. All the hard work you put into your beautiful little Shuanshuan - reading him stories at bedtime, making him go to sports practice, making sure he had a healthy diet, educating him, playing with him. All of it has one simple result: his species is more enjoyable for the society they will eventually develop on earth.
Raised the perfect apeman? Great. Who benefits? If you're lucky, a random apeman who had nothing to do with the way he grew up, who gets to live in his society on the pale blue world. He gets to follow his Daoist doctrine every night. He gets the benefits of his kind and sweet personality that came from the way you raised him.
As a Solarian who has an apeman, you are LITERALLY dedicating at least 500 years of your life simply to raise a species for another world to enjoy. It is the ULTIMATE AND FINAL cuck. Think about it logically.

There's a point-of-no-return that the game outright tells you to go finish your business beforehand. Assuming you passed that, you get sent to a save before the point-of-no-return after you beat her. Do with this knowledge what you will.

For the big door: Count the lines in the water from 1-5 going bottom-up (as with sheet music) and note where each sun appears on those lines. The bells correspond with those numbers from left to right, including the bell over the door.
For the treasure hunt: Literally just jump into the roof over the mural at the root node featuring the sun and fusang in the grotto
Big door has is another bell puzzle. The hint in the same room. It's not necessary for second ending and has backer messages.
Grotto has a lot of shit, so you better be more specific. I've spent a good hour in it to get all the stuff.

I don't care whether you call it Immortal, True Golden Immortal, or something even bigger dick, in progression power fantasies, the entire system needs to be planned out from top to bottom to have impact to anything, from the combat to the growth of the mc.

Hmm, I understand dao brother. Sure, the dao is endless but to stretch your webnovel by adding yet another realm to conquest and more cultivation stages at last moment is just shameless. Would have been better to settle point A to Z in the beginning while the rest of the chapters you fill the spots or try to find your way to advance, in some cases it might be even interesting to pioneer or discover your own path from beginning to end knowing well the final goal. If you get my drift.
You dare insult this grandfather?! Prepare yourself, this one shall exterminate your family to the ninth degree for this dishonor!

Is it just me, or does the fact that Tianhuo was actually caused by Eigong massively undercut the narrative of Heng's cutscenes which forwarded the idea of it just being time to return to nature? I might just be being too particular though.
Not so much. The Sols got together trying to figure out how to save the Penglai solarians like Heng. As they were doing that on New Kunlun, Eigong hyperfixated on immortality and eventually settled on using Ji's gay immortal genes. This led to the much worse fate of immortal killer mutants rather than just peaceably moving on to the realm beyond and uniting with Tao.
I thought the implication was that Tianhuo itself was caused by Eigong trying to research immortality before anything had gone wrong, and that's what Yi confronted her over and got laid out for 500 years over. The mutant stuff happened while Yi was out cold iirc.
Yep, though the solarians were dying out and turning to flowers before the immortality research really took place per the Heng cutscenes else Yi would have gotten a lot more voicemails about the mutants tearing everything apart.

Unless I'm mistaken, this was the timeline. 1. Things are normal on Penglai. 2. Eigong starts researching immortality because immortality is cool. 3. Woopsie-daisie! Eigong accidentally created the Tianhuo Virus while trying to figure out immortality, and now the apocalypse has begun. 4. The Eternal Cauldron Project is proposed as a last ditch effort to delay the inevitable until they can cure Tianhuo. 5. ECP is completed, and Yi discovers that Eigong was the one responsible for Tianhuo, confronts her, and gets knocked out for 500 years. 6. While Yi is taking his dirt nap, Eigong is researching a cure for Tianhuo (and still immortality, because this b***h never learns), with a focus on using Ji's DNA as a map to success. This works, but the 'treatment' is what creates the mutants. 7. The game happens. Correct me if I'm wrong on anything though, I just slapped this together off the top of my head

I think the experiments on Ji and giving Fuxi his first zombie injections happened before/during the New Kunlun launch.
If anything, it amplifies it. Tianhuo is a punishment by Tao to the whole solarian race for an attempt to create a way to freely become xians, and for disobeying the flow and using fusang for their own advantage, to which they object as we know from Heng. It being created by the solarian race itself is a twisted display of divine irony, and proof of Lear's principles being true.
I strongly suggest you to read on chinese folklore and mythology if story in this game interested you.
>I strongly suggest you to read on chinese folklore and mythology if story in this game interested you.
kek, other way around, anon. I was interested in the game because I have already autistically consumed a lot of content that gets into chinese myth/folklore. I agree that Heavenly Punishment from the Tao itself is very much in theme for chinese folklore, I just felt it was a different theme than Heng's 'All Things Return to One' schtick personally. I might be being too autistic though.
Twist ending, Heng never died.
She's actually Solarian Jesus sent by the Great Tao and after new kunlun left she began converting the peoples faith and working miracles leading up to the curing of tianhou.
Penglai is actually alive and going through a new era of peace with a new Heng/Tao religion by the time new kunlun comes back, which is now ancient history.
>new kunlun leaves with everyone with all the crazy science homies and everyone else that believes in their cause >everyone left on penglai is mostly taoists outside the people that wanted to get on the ship but couldn't >heng stops hearing the roots screaming immediately after and instead hears the voices telling her to try and convert everyone's faith to Taoism which leads to an eventual cure
this isn't even that far fetched if i can be honest. would suck ass when yi kys's himself in the true end just to find this out
>spoiler
It was still 500 years later, so everything and everyone ends up in Tao anyways. Though it is a strange move on her part to stop sending messages after saying, "Hey I'm bout to die, see you in Tao bro."
Drawing more Cat Jesus parallels, she sent that message before her public execution. Why shes getting executed during potentially the end times is anyone's guess though.
> her public execution.

i saw that message earlier today. She literally just cut her hand, it wasnt a big deal. She was making smalltalk
yi find heng eventually in the great tao just to get told "sorry brother, but there's something you need to know" and get the truth bomb dropped on him
Chinese lore autists, is this theory plausible?
It would make in-game sense, only problem isHeng's last message was pretty clear that she died and Yi sees her in right before he self-nukes in the shit ending
curious, do they go over what happens to the roots in penglai? did they just stay the same or was most of it condensed in new kunlun and it might have impacted the rest of the roots on the planet when they left
They only got a small bit of the roots onto New Kunlun, the rest of the planted is still saturated with them
It took 500 years for those message to reach so its possible she sent them at different points in her life. Although it would be a sort of a dick move to omit the fact that she saved the world and every other potential development in all that time.
that's not how physics work, anon.
unless she somehow warped in front of the message herself, then it wouldn't be possible to do that, they all have to arrive in chronological order.

what did devs mean by this?
Played it for 2, maybe 3 hours. It’s interesting but not particularly enjoyable. Feels a bit soulless tbh.
The attempts at story annoyed me. Character art sucks (which is odd as almost all other art is decent), dialogues/lore/etc is mediocre.
>dialogues/lore/etc is mediocre.
First few hours are extremely expositionary. I skipped dialogue at the beginning myself, but closer to the end of midgame it starts to really pick up once character progression takes priority over just teaching you whatever the frick is going on.
But if you don't enjoy combat, you probably won't enjoy it at all.

Three options:
1) Use the jade that lets you chain unbound counters.
2) Just be a pro and parry twice into unbound. There is just barely enough time.
3) Parry, parry, dodge. Deal with the fire. Not the most elegant solution but it works.
Use the regular arrow just before the big one attacks, it stuns him and lets you parry the pins
It took 500 years for those message to reach so its possible she sent them at different points in her life. Although it would be a sort of a dick move to omit the fact that she saved the world and every other potential development in all that time.

Yeah i think we're flying into fanfic territory with this one
I just want some of the cats to live on dammit, having them go extinct in BOTH endings is too grimdark for me to bear
why is it bad to go into fanfic territory. the story is fairly tightly knit, so it's kinda hard to avoid. just make it like, some alternate timeline shit, if it bothers you or anyone enough
>why is it bad to go into fanfic territory.
I prefer plausible speculation over just making shit up
>the story is fairly tightly knit, so it's kinda hard to avoid.
Not really, there are plot holes, like the different ways they could have survived the plague but didn't use for some reason
You can transition from a parry into Unbounded, so parry the first and second, then hold the parry button to charge up for the red attack before releasing
During some of the flashbacks, the camera moves upwards and i clearly remember there being planets, and you can see the Haotian Sphere.
Can somebody post a screenshot? That's probably actually the best view on Penglai we get.
I'll give you one better. This is very likely a portside town neighboring Kunlun. The closest landmasses to Kunlun are a chain of islands near the Yan kingdom, so it may be one of those, unless they only took the Grotto with them.
>mfw the game doesn't let you poison Jiequan if you didn't do it the first time

>Eigong could have just removed everyone's tainhao genes, turning them into normal cats, created automatic systems to care for the cats and monitor when the virus had completely gone, then re-added the genes and saved everyone
She truly was moronic
What's a Tianhao gene? If its a virus or bacteria, there is no Tianhao gene. The fact that she mentions a gene implies that Tianhao is some sort of autoimmune or mutation triggered automatically on Solarians. That's why there is no transmission vector. Even if she added the genes back, Tianhao would happen again. She has no idea what's triggering it. Could be the roots or coudl be Tao or could be microplastics in their dicks.
What's a tianhao gene? The gene for the bacteria? The RNA of the virus?
The gene that the virus attacks I guess

That's what im saying. Viruses dont attack random genes, they attack cells and hijack them. This process isn't down to a single gene as much as the whole immune system and a bunch of parameters of the cell itself. It makes no sense to say "the tianhao gene". And especially not one that'd transform you to a cat.
And there's another log where Eigong can't figure out its transmission.
What I said in

I propose a hypothesis:
Tianhou is a trigger for apoptosis which propagated through the roots. It may be in a form of bacteriophage pathogen which was synthesized from Ji's genome, which replaces part of solarian DNA in a particular position, so the replaced part can be called the Tianhou gene. But it doesn't work and triggers a suicide switch due to biological differences with Ji. The reason why death produces a flower is more murky, but i think you can come up with something about Fusang - solarian symbiosis and say that all solarians carry some form of roots internally, and the modified gene just creates an environment for their aggressive growth. Pathogen could've propagated through the root also, due to close evolutionary relationship between both species.

We see flowers (and Tao fruit) growing from the corpses of Lear's three great sages within his hidden tomb, which must mean the exposure of a (solarian?) corpse near Fusang produces those flowers independently of Tianhuo. Putting Fusang's DNA into solarians must have meant the flowers could grow without Fusang's direct presence. Eigong notes that the flowers have some of Fusang's DNA within it, and historically, Fusang provided "fruit," to early Solarians, who larely suffered from the poor soil found on the planet. Tao Fruit may have been that fruit.

Please learn to understand subtext in fictional works. If author doesn't say something directly, it doesn't mean that it's not implied anywhere else, and educate yourself on the source material.
I thought literature classes exist specifically to teach this kind of thing - to understand what author is trying to convey through stories.

Tao Fruit may have been that fruit.
There is a planet-wide plant organism that provides them basically limitless energy as occasional regeneration, extreme longevity (Lear) and other weird shit.
A scientist tries to make immortality using that plant organism's DNA and a disease happens that turns people into plants.
And people STILL think Tianhou is unrelated to Fusang. I don't get it.
Isn't it more likely Solarians have been uplifted by Fusang since forever, maybe originally from cats, and Tianhou is a process triggered by Fusang? And that's why it happens everywhere, is connected to plants and they cant stop it?
Just finished it and got the 100% ending. This game is legit a masterpiece. It's like if you had hollow knight and took out all the stuff that made hollow knight dogshit
Since Lady Ethereal's soulscape system isn't perfect, that means everyone that is asleep is already pretty fricked? Even if they wake up, they'll go crazy from being ripped away from their virtual paradise? How did the other sols sleep and wake up fine over the past 500 years?
it's not really explained. It's implied that the sols wake up more to do important sol stuff, but normal solarians must've had to wake up a fair bit for food/water, right? Plus, even if the sols had to wake up often to do work, the fact that most of them haven't aged that much makes me assume that they still spent like 95-98% of the time in the soulscape if it was for 500 years

> How did the other sols sleep and wake up fine
That's the great part: they didn't. An entry from Eigong mentions having terrible head pain after leaving the soulscape. Chances are likely they're all getting hit by it to different degrees while still doing their jobs.
So Yi only started martial arts after meeting Eigong and he became good enough in 10 years to not only become a Fangshi but to match Lear?

it's implied (honestly more like outright stated) that either one or both of them were tortured and killed by someone, i'd assume another solarian since it was torture and not a normal death. so it makes me think it was more a weird twisted motherly love than anything else if she went all the way to revive them
I don't know what program is in that particular picture but I've been using AssetStudio.

The virus started after she fricked with the flowers that the dead people turned into. The pink slime mutation started after she fricked with Ji's cells
I thought the virus only started after she got her hands on Ji's body that was resurrected by the roots?
1st. Eigong accidentally creats Tianhuo by synthesizing Solarian cells and root regeneration cells.
2nd. Eigong analyses Ji's cells and develops a cure prototype. All Solarians given this "cure" turn into mutants.
Picrelated (spoiler warning) is an anons explanation I like.
she only has one attack you can't charge parry (and I dunno, maybe some autist out there can, but I couldn't do it), it's one of the potential follow ups to her talisman grab. The others are very well telegraphed.
Because gods don't really operate on the same level as mortals do. Being siblings born of a primordial chaos isn't exactly the same as being born to the same mom.
it's always funny seeing these murals in these fantasy combat games because something like this in any "normal" setting would be a somewhat metaphorized or canonically fantasized view of what happened, but with Solarians, you can absolutely just see "yeah some guys flew around a massive temple doing aerial kung fu and throwing flying swords at a single guy"
>Aimu does a tour of Penglai >Goes to Xia and gets along with the Taoists who don't know who she is and probably just think she's a journalist or something >Goes to Ying and has to dodge rabid, tech-savvy orange fans at every turn
you have to kill mutants in the empyrean district and research center with a talisman for some of them. Being crowdfund backer goals, they're not really essential anyway.
it was completely different from the game with nearly zero relation to the game itself. I'll give a brief word because it's not that interesting for this game's discussion
Basically, there was an Extra menu on the main menu with two extra modes: "Bonus Modes" and "Episodes". Bonus mode has boss rush and speedrun and shit you'd see in a normal videogame after you beat it, while Episodes had three "episodes", with one of them locked
Thing is. The episodes were basically a completely different game. It was a fully 3D higher res first person immersive-sim like small areas set on a completely different scenario. Reminded me of Prey 2017 and Deus Ex, but it had no combat and was mostly interacting around and talking to NPCs. Instead of what happens in the game, you played as a Solarian on earth in a scenario where humans and solarians had a peaceful meeting and introduction to each other, and tianhuo doesn't exist. Most of the characters I saw were humans, with rarely any Solarians, besides the ones I played as
The first episode was in a sci-fi ass research building (still on earth and clearly human) and I think I was playing as Yi because the view point was short and the character talked irritated. The whole atmosphere felt tense and everyone was in hurry. Most of the characters were very annoyed and TV news gave a vibe of "shit is getting very sour".
At some point an overwatch ass robot starts just walking towards the end of a corridor, and despite not harming anyone, it was destroying everything and you needed to get away from it (which was obviously very easy because Yi could jump and dash and shit). It ended when you got to the other side and I don't remember anything else
The other episode was with Jihai, which was more clear because the objective was getting to his room which had lots of pictures of him in Penglai and with other humans (which I felt was super cute), and the vibe was way more calm, set in a residential building.
2/2
Jihai's episode ended at his bedroom too. At the very end there was some weird rumbling and I don't remember what else happened because the dream ended right there. The humans in Jihai's episode were kinder but still a bit annoyed, and the building was very comfy. I felt very happy looking at the pictures in his room because it had pictures of humans and solarians mostly smiling, and there was one with baby Jihai where he looked like a little bean and it was pretty cute.
basically, it felt like a narrative first person thing but for a COMPLETELY different game. The vibes in general were kinda weird, in particular. Humans were mostly either neutral to you but clearly weirded out or straight up very rude and mean. At some point in Yi's episode, a human just called you some fantasy slur and walked away. It felt like despite the more peaceful setting, humans and solarians clearly had some beef, and the episodes were taking place right on top of some weird shit about to go down. I can't put my finger on it but shit felt really "unnerving" throughout the entire dream, even in Jihai's dream which was very comfy and normal. It reminds me of Corru Observer because it was not about "aliens came to earth and colonized humans" but just "aliens came to earth and just tried to chill but because they're *aliens* it clearly would take some time for people to warm up to them".
But that's basically it, it felt very weird because it took me a while to realize that it was a completely different game for the two episodes
>dxhr + ns crossover
now THAT'S how you do fanfiction
yeah it felt completely different. It was a much more higher res game just for that mode completely in first person and didn't even have any combat. Well, Yi could still jump and dash, but not attack, while Jihai could only walk and talk, and he was clearly more comfortable and submissive.
A mindspike user in the wilds of Collective? If Velzie wills it, so be it, but i thought such occasions were beyond Zanruka's flash, it's been a third of an eye since i've met somebody similar
>I felt very happy looking at the pictures in his room because it had pictures of humans and solarians mostly smiling, and there was one with baby Jihai where he looked like a little bean and it was pretty cute.
Aww... Shit like that makes me wish things weren't so damn bleak for Solarians in canon. Also thanks for reminding me to finish Corru Observer. Stopped at the god fight and it's been a while so I may just play from the start again to jog my memory on the story.
is this game nonlinear with multiple points of progression and multiple entrances to areas like HK or nah? that's my single condition to play a metroidvania
Nah, only in the endgame you get the choice between 2 areas
The most you can do is leave a area incomplete after getting the moveset, but that's pretty dumb
It's barely a metroidvania, there are few points in the game where you get to choose which boss to go for next, but it's very minor and doesn't really affect anything.
There's also very little backtracking and exploration is meh.
bummer.
anything like HK you can recommend? I havent played many metroidvanias, but loved HK because of the open exploration.
planning on playing rain world because of the openness
I especially hate going around looking for a singular point of progression in metroidvanias. despised that in super metroid and dropped the game before long. might give this a shot if it doesnt have that, I do love sekiro after all
HK is honestly pretty unique in how open it is, most metroidvanias aren't at that level.
yet some people like to shit on it. some people are really stupid I guess
Rain World is not a metroidvania in the slightest. It's open world, but has no other aspects of the genre at all.
It's still a very good exploration game which i love to death and is certainly biased towards, but it may not have what you're looking for.
>Rain World is not a metroidvania in the slightest
yeah I'm aware of that. I'll have to give it a shot and see if I like it
Rain World doesn't have openness. At the beginning of the game you can either walk to a dead end or take the correct path and from there it's just a straight line

He does that on ancient, barely-active solarian forums that he's been using since he first discovered the internet. His signature consists of a quote from every Fangshi philosophy text he's ever read and lots of gifs featuring his favorite edgy xianxia novel characters from when he was 10

I finished this game like 2 days ago and I'm already fricking missing those boss fights. I want to replay them so bad, they need to add a "choose-a-boss" mode or do a KH2-style post-game where you fight copies of all the major bosses but harder.
just finished this game, what the frick is with the moral of the story? "don't strive to better your situation"? "just give up and die, you cuck"? "know your place"? what bullshit is this? I'm assuming it's part of some moronic chink religion
if these people had their way we'd still all be shitting in fields and dying of dysentery.
>"don't strive to better your situation"? "just give up and die, you cuck"? "know your place"? >what bullshit is this? I'm assuming it's part of some moronic chink religion
Hahaha you sound just like Yi.
>"don't strive to better your situation"? "just give up and die, you cuck"? "know your place"? >I'm assuming it's part of some moronic chink religion
unironically yes, the true ending is stupid
The moral is basically everything Heng and Lear say. Live well and drink peach blossom wine with your beloved little sister who loves you and wants to spend her life with you. But for some people, living well with the blessed time you have living and experiencing on this earth is not enough.
They need more. Always more. Reject always wanting more.
Embrace Heng.
don't be a consumerist capitalist who thinks deserves literally everything including putting others under suffering to achieve goals you don't really need
meh
it was alright
to me the fatal flaw was that only the twins and the final boss were hard enough to force you to use your tools and make it really fun
>what the frick is with the moral of the story?
Jiequan was right. Observe how Yi changes and grows as a person over the course of the game. Heroes are forged in agony.
Not at all, I enjoyed all of it, the highs and especially the terrible tragic and sad lows. The story elicited emotional reactions from me, and a game hasn't done that in a very long time. You may have a problem with it if you cannot let go, however.
So the meeting where Yi proposes the dreamscape plot to cryo-freeze everyone happens before they leave the planet right? Also do they just uproot Fusang and carry it with them on the ship?
they didn't uproot Fusang exactly, New Kunlun is actually just the entirety of the island of Kunlun converted into a spaceship. Fusang was already there and they took it with them.
Correct. Fusang's primordial roots penetrates through all of the Solarian's planet, Penglai. Only the roots that were present on Kunlun island were uprooted which was just a very small piece of a planet-spanning root system.
Just think about it, step 1, get the seals
Step 2..? As i said, for all purposes, ye just want to kill possibly single person capable of finding the cure (well, at least they thought so)
He's after revengeance at the beginning because he thinks they all worked with Eigong to kill him. After the prison, he calms down a bit and even more after Lady Ethereal, asking the rest of the Sols to give it up and he'd rather not fight.

He literally tells abacus at the start that if they don’t surrender he’ll kill them. So he’s fine with peace from the start
With exception of Kaufu, they all would rather have thrown hands instead of handing over their seals for various reasons. In another life, peace would have been an option.
That sounds like time and energy spent on something other than SCIENCE, which is not Eigong's style. She can make herself as pretty as she wants when she's fricking immortal
I wonder what purpose Goumang's halo serves? She seems to be wearing a less fancy version as Eigong's apprentice. We don't really see how the Fangshi Jade system looks but Eigong's forehead gem thing looks similar to old chien's, and all the other scientists with young Eigong seem to have something similar to young Goumang's halo. Perhaps blue and gold Jade provide non-combat utility, red jade helps with martial arts and green jade provides medical assistance? Similar to the color-coding for Yi's jades? I wonder where Yi's jade system is supposed to be inside his body, perhaps along his spine?
The thing around Kuafu's neck is called "Phone" in the game's files. You can see a Solarian wearing a very similar thing in Kuafu's photo. Perhaps Goumang's halo is what allows her to fly, because there's no way it's possible with just those wings of hers. Although her halo is just called "Hat" in the files.
it's a game made by a non-american, non-japanese and non-european country but with actual polish and good game design so you get something genuinely unique and good that you can enjoy without many setbacks that games from those outer ring countries tend to deliver
Chien DLC sounds like pure suffering kino given how she would up
Time travel dlc where Yi murders that b***h Eigong on sight
>Time travel dlc
Sounds cool, maybe the solarians could be saved with Yi's future knowledge
plus the Tao realm allows for information to be sent through time so it wouldn't feel like a cop out
Shuanshuan mini-sequel with him having to solve some human issues using his teachings from Yi
>Literal worst case scenario, would be dogshit
I genuinely think the only people who hold this opinion are people who only liked the game for the furbait. I don't see how you could hold that opinion if you gave any shits about Shuanshuan or the human storyline.
Because i'm a misanthrope and i want to play as the funny cute Taiwanese space cats
Making the MC a human would ruin everything hopefully the devs have enough sense not to do that
The true end fricked me up, bros...
But I like to imagine in the post-credits scene, the crying Shuan gets comforted by the Mystic Nymph and he begins to crack a smile when the sun rises to warm him up. Yi is still with him ;_;
I would like a mod in which Yi goes full Naruto and convinces all Sols to join him. After defeat, each Sol moves to the four season pavilion and you can talk to them and they tell you bits of their story.
Lady E, Jiquan, and Ji would be tough to negotiate to join for various reasons. >Ethereal's a brain in a state of torment for years >Jiquan believes people are best forged through pain and already put Yi through hell >Ji just wants to die
The rest I can see the hilarious potential.
It's tricky but not implausible. If Fuxi were persuaded, Nuwa would follow without question. Offering to allow the party to continue and offering a safer venue at the Four Seasons Pavilion would be a good opener. Maybe providing the opportunity to look into curing Fuxi's ligma with Abacus' help would seal the deal.
You convince her, she convinces herself that fuxi agrees with you, she uses her flute to control him into going along.
what i mean is that fuxi won't agree with you because he is part of the mutant hivemind. thats why he even got nuwa to fight you, because the mutant hive mind is what was actually speaking to her through him
It's unclear if he's even alive. It's implied that Fuxi speaking to Nuwa is just her imagination. That's why convincing Nuwa is all that matters, once she's on board Fuxi will obey because of that mind control helmet he's wearing.
How in the FRICK did Ethereal clean up her lab and make sure nobody knew what happened. She couldn't have told anyone for obvious reasons, so she must've done it all herself.
Eigong knew and still humored dreamscaping? While that seems anti-scientific, it does remind me of the XKCD comic of a dude getting shocked touching something and knowing not to do it again while a scientist wants to see if it happens again.
I get Bioshock vibes from this whole game. A lot of things went horribly wrong, and much like Andrew Ryan, Eigong refused to believe anything was wrong. Her belief became so twisted that an admission a project was flawed was an admission her science could not solve everything. Yeah it's dumb as he'll to think like that, but meglomaniacal leader tend to have stupid mindsets like that.
She DID say she killed them all herself... Though in reality she probably only needed to mercy kill some of them while the rest did the deed themselves. She had Tiandao Council money to get some guys to do the clean up, no questions asked. The Council wasn't exactly a public organization until the Eternal Cauldron Project.
She must have been mindbroken frame 1 from that alone if she had to put them out of their misery herself. Forget about the 500 years, she was already gone.
I suspect that was just her guilt talking. She probably didn't actually kill any of them. Some killed themselves, others probably had to be taken away by security and then killed themselves. Either way, Lady E blames herself.
>You were the best. You knew everything there was to know about everything... >I might not have understood everything you said, but I wanted to cling to you all the time. >To me, you've always been the smartest and most amazing person in the world.
If he did (which would be hilariously anticlimactic) he could just hop into a bundle of roots and stay there like Lear did until he joins the Great Tao with Heng
Speaking of Ruyi, it seems like he goes offline or is barely functioning if Yi also happens to be knocked out or something. Like when Yi is being tortured, or when he's trapped in Lady E and Eigong's soulscapes. IIRC, Ruyi's dialogue is all staticy in the prison since Yi is barely hanging on, and Eigong manages to break into the pavilion since Yi is trapped in the soulscape. When Yi breaks free from Eigong's soulscape, Shuan says the soldiers are coming back, which is when Ruyi is back online to hide the others and possibly have a fight and lose against Eigong.
Not sure how better to explain it, but I think basically Ruyi is connected more closely to Yi than it first appears, relying on Yi to be alive to function sometimes.
>Load game to before the point-of-no-return to check something >Back to title screen >Title screen is back to the original
Guess I gotta teach Eigong another lesson
To save oh wait nevermind they're all dead lol
i don't get it.
they have worms in their butt that make them think fat old men are hot
>send yi down elevator shafts
>taunt yi even though he was nice to you during the academy
>not give yi your sol seal
>send your two favorite apemen upon yi
>force them to continue fighting through the pain via mind control
Is that all goumang did wrong?
No, she also didn't have sex with me
Why did the council let her walk around naked?
Jiequan motioned for casual nudity privileges and Goumang piggybacked

Anon, if you want to talk about Elden Ring so bad, there are plenty of other threads for you.

What ither games from taiwan are even worth shilling? Even this game's devs just made horror slop
Cogmind
I loved this and thymesia. The taiwan people really got the horror sekiro combat down and all done by 5 ppl in a basement. Thymesia lacks the story and characters though, but the combat they nailed perfectly.
Really wish I could get into Thymesia. Love the setting and aesthetic but just didn't click for some reason.

>lol u playing the "we'll be just like him" card?
Yeah kinda when it comes to this.
fake. Yi can't maintain an erection to save his life. He needs apeboy in him before he can have sex with his sister.
There’s no way they didn’t have passionate lovey dovey sex in the Tao after the ending
They tried. Didn't work until Yi created a digital clone of Shuanshuan.
Not to suggest that they have a thing for each other, but the game certainly doesn't seem to imply that Solarians find that sort of romance even remotely taboo. It really wouldn't surprise me if that ended up happening if shit didn't go the way it did.
Try to look up the the ancient mythology that was used for the foundation of this game's characters.
Yeah but it was in no way related to Hou Yi and his wife, and incestuous relationships have been mythologically banned by one of the Fuxi's sons.
Yi and Eigong fricked up big, but let's talk about pic related for a hot minute:
>witnessed the rise and fall of dynasties
>can divine the future
>willing to lie his immortal twink ass off to fulfill his prophecies
>with this experiences, knowledge, and prescience, allows Eigong access to his immortal DNA
>all the while hanging out on the sidelines smiling gayly waiting for a glorious end to come his way
Seriously why does he dress like that?
If you gotta live forever and you have a body like that, may as well dress to show it off I suppose.
hexagrams told him to dress like a fruity homosexual to attract mates
He's used to his body being worshipped in various ways
He just wanted to kiss boys
6 million apemen? That's just not possible.
may it happen again
Don't know if I count, but I just finished the true ending, took me about an hour. She is certainly a jump from the other bosses. Phase 2 gave me more trouble than phase 3.
phase 3 is juts phase 2 with some extra flashy moves and the best track in the game
By the time you can hit phase 3 consistently, you're good enough to clear the boss
I want to explore his insides
Hmoff I think.
Look, Yi, you have to let him go eventually. Otherwise, he'd be just a pet.
>Using the other end of him is always faster than reloading.
I can't play this game but I really want to because now I'm just really fascinated by this aloof autist and what he gets up to.
genociding + enslaving an entire race and mass murder
If he can do it all while wearing that blank absent-minded expression the entire time then I bet they had it coming.
Someone please translate this. Google image search's translate function isn't working on this image but I'm sure it's hilarious.

Lady E is a fricking fatass
Isn't it great?
Frick off Yi
The brain IS 60% fat.
Heng please, you're breaking my heart.
Yes, that's the point. Frick you, frick doing, frick tao.
just remember who's gotta pay for this
Eigong. Eigong has to pay.
Heng couldn't have been more right.
She never fricked Yi so she was definitely wrong
Kind of a fricked up thought, but I do sorta have to wonder if she would've been more willing to go if they ended up having a kid or something.
should've been her trump card
>yi: if you wont come, then I never had a sister in the first place
>heng: *completely disrobes* what about now
>yi mentally:
I'm pretty sure I'm about to fight the old b***h but there's still places I haven't explored and I have no idea how to get to them
>The big door with the big bells in the Empyran district
>The treasure hunt in the grotto
>Map chip for lab place but that might be past the node which I didn't actually explore because I thought the boss would start immediately
There's a point-of-no-return that the game outright tells you to go finish your business beforehand. Assuming you passed that, you get sent to a save before the point-of-no-return after you beat her. Do with this knowledge what you will.
>The answer's on a painting in a room to the top left of the door, try and see if you can understand it
>It's not as hard to understand as you might think. Read it carefully.
>You'll have time to explore before the boss so don't worry.
Well it's been twenty minutes and I've not made any progress at all and all the guides I found are in chinese so anything more specific would be nice
Lab shanhai is in the upper part of the location.
frick off to /trash/
What are you so mad about exactly? The drawings?
I am mad about morons talking expressing their sexual urges instead of talking about videogames. 60 years of western sex propaganda leads to exactly this.

But I guarantee a majority of the degenerates are sexless third-world brownies. In fact, I'm sure even you are.

I can't believe the comfy threads are over so quickly, but such is the way of the Tao

gamer moment
I actually want to discuss the dao but if such is the way threads will continue then so be it.
Terrible segue I know, but my major frustration with xianxia slop is how most authors refuse to plan out the absolute cap in advance.
I dare. But do you?
I had been thinking about making this since I laid eyes upon the game.
I want to brush Yi's teeth
Once again I'm asking for someone's save with a shanhai9000 with a map chip available so i can kill it and get the cheevo
Just restart the game on a new save and kill the first one you see
the first one is near kuafu so its a pretty decent 1hr? 30min of gameplay
I think hurting the shanhai is mean. I didn't get that achievement and I didn't get the achievement for breaking Shuanshuan's pot. I don't intend to get either. I'm happy without them.
Does sparing/killing them do anything beyond change your usage of your money?
its for another cheevo, the shanhai 9000 and chien ques
anyone?
Pirated copy on who knows what version so don't blame me if it doesn't work my cheevoBlack person friend. Save files should be under appdata/locallow if your version is running the same file structure. >The co-founders just had an interview, and they said there is currently no plan on the dlc.
Can i get spoiled on why Heng was killed
The Great Tao wished it so
Cat aids got her
Is it just me, or does the fact that Tianhuo was actually caused by Eigong massively undercut the narrative of Heng's cutscenes which forwarded the idea of it just being time to return to nature?
You're correct, anon
Solarians were always going to destroy themselves eventually.
old people
Twist ending, Heng never died.
She's actually Solarian Jesus sent by the Great Tao and after new kunlun left she began converting the peoples faith and working miracles leading up to the curing of tianhou.
Penglai is actually alive and going through a new era of peace with a new Heng/Tao religion by the time new kunlun comes back, which is now ancient history.
>new kunlun leaves with everyone with all the crazy science homies and everyone else that believes in their cause
>everyone left on penglai is mostly taoists outside the people that wanted to get on the ship but couldn't
>heng stops hearing the roots screaming immediately after and instead hears the voices telling her to try and convert everyone's faith to Taoism which leads to an eventual cure
this isn't even that far fetched if i can be honest. would suck ass when yi kys's himself in the true end just to find this out

It was still 500 years later, so everything and everyone ends up in Tao anyways. Though it is a strange move on her part to stop sending messages after saying, "Hey I'm bout to die, see you in Tao bro."
In second to last message she said that her condition was quickly deteriorating. I think she just returned to Tao after the last message.
Drawing more Cat Jesus parallels, she sent that message before her public execution. Why shes getting executed during potentially the end times is anyone's guess though.
Cats are evil by nature so this tracks. Had to take out the outlier.
> her public execution.
what the frick when did that happen???
They're making shit up at this point, unless they want you to believe that her "accidentally" cutting herself was actually a lie and she was attacked in response to her attempt to radicalize the people of Xia and beyond to follow her as a messiah
>unless they want you to believe that her "accidentally" cutting herself
when did that happen?
I forgot when it happens, but one of Heng's messages has her saying she got injured and was in great pain because she had nobody else around to tend to her wounds asking when Yi will be coming back ;_;
i saw that message earlier today.
I am honestly more interested about how advanced the solarian technology is if a random denizen can get hands on a powerful enough transmitter that would send a message focused enough to not deteriorate over 500 lightyears of travel.
Well in the bad ending Yi literally goes back to Penglai and it shows the entire planet covered in the dead people flowers so no, it's not plausible
>Goumang, also known as Jumang (句芒), is an auxiliary god of the Fuxi family. The Classic of Mountains and Seas described his appearance as "bird body and human face, ride two dragons". He is the god of wood and spring, in charge of life and health.
>his
>he
what did devs mean by this?
>tfw if goumang had been male i'd likely not care about this game
Is it better to go for the normal or true ending first for maximum emotional impact
True.
It's way worse.
Normal, then true. Did the opposite and it did not hit.
So does anyone know why the final shard in the soulscape is always shattered? Does it mean it's something that they envisioned in the future?
Hey anon, yes (You).
Do. You. Have. Eyes. And. See. Mount. Tai?
Impudent junior! Kowtow nine times before I, your daddy, and I won't kill you with a flick of my sleeves.
I fricked your sister.
You dare insult this grandfather?! Prepare yourself, this one shall exterminate your family to the ninth degree for this dishonor!
But if you don't enjoy combat, you probably won't enjoy it at all.
curious, do they go over what happens to the roots in penglai? did they just stay the same or was most of it condensed in new kunlun and it might have impacted the rest of the roots on the planet when they left
We don't know.
Fusang is described as a plant, so it probably didn't have problems with regrowing lost mass after New Kunlun departed.
If you dont do the hand signals together with Yi everytime you get a Sol Seal, I dont want to know you
>twins phase 2
>2 pins + red smash
Three options:
1) Use the jade that lets you chain unbound counters.
2) Just be a pro and parry twice into unbound. There is just barely enough time.
3) Parry, parry, dodge. Deal with the fire. Not the most elegant solution but it works.
Use the regular arrow just before the big one attacks, it stuns him and lets you parry the pins
If Eigong is Isshin, who's Genichiro
During some of the flashbacks, the camera moves upwards and i clearly remember there being planets, and you can see the Haotian Sphere.
Can somebody post a screenshot? That's probably actually the best view on Penglai we get.
So, is the central planet Penglai?
The spots look like landmass, but it doesn't seem to resemble the in-game map.
I'll give you one better. This is very likely a portside town neighboring Kunlun. The closest landmasses to Kunlun are a chain of islands near the Yan kingdom, so it may be one of those, unless they only took the Grotto with them.
>mfw the game doesn't let you poison Jiequan if you didn't do it the first time
I just wanted to see the different dialogue dammit. What happens if you do poison him?
He coughs during fight occasionally and remarks that dirty play and evil is in solarian genes
He gives you the, "We're much alike, you and I," and he hacks up a lung occasionally during phase 1.
He congratulates you on fighting dirty like he would've
What the frick is below them? Is this a bowl? A fricking potty? I need to fricking know
It's a pot of water and bandages for Yi's injuries. You can see a nick in his ear and blood on his jacket.
It almost looks like someone pissed in it.
the bowl is brown and the water is a blood/water mixture
Why won't he just off himself and get a brand new body.
That's a pretty good solution for sleep too.
>Why won't he just kill himself and let his sleeping friends snuggle with his decomposing, virus-infected corpse
hmm I wonder
He would never let anybody into his bed either way. I think he prefers just staring into root nodes instead.
how did yi end up in this situation
Jiequan beat his ass
my little autistic coworker can't be this cute
twitter got some kino art
9 sols has great diaper art
TRUE
Nice headcanon moron
Now boot up the game again and read the lab reports
What's a tianhao gene? The gene for the bacteria? The RNA of the virus?
The gene that the virus attacks I guess
That's what im saying. Viruses dont attack random genes, they attack cells and hijack them. This process isn't down to a single gene as much as the whole immune system and a bunch of parameters of the cell itself. It makes no sense to say "the tianhao gene". And especially not one that'd transform you to a cat.
And there's another log where Eigong can't figure out its transmission.
What I said in
is probably reaching and they just wanted to put the easter eggs with the cats and handwavey-d the terms a little bit though.
the virus is caused by the mutated tianhou gene that make no sense to any scientists, including the fact it spread to every solarian immediately. the great tao was just PISSED who made that shit the most fricked up situation for the entire race
it's after you escape from the jiequan rape dungeon, probably
Sorry if i'm reading this incorrectly, but Tianhou starting to act like a virus happened prior to Eigong messing with Ji's cells.
Yes, Ji's cells just created the aggressive pink mutants
So would that mean Ji was meant to be the cure, but cause the tumors as whatever made him immortal was incompatible with normie Solarians?
Or is there more Tao stuff I'm missing?
>So would that mean Ji was meant to be the cure, but cause the tumors as whatever made him immortal was incompatible with normie Solarians?
Yes thats exactly what happened
the whole " the virus was a punishment from the Tao" bs is head canon made up by anons here
Why isn't it a punishment from the Tao? You try to get immortal after fricking over eachother for centuries, and then expect to just get away with it?
It's a classic wuxia trope. You frick with the way gods intended, and gods frick up your entire bloodline.
In game the virus is plainly stated as resulting directly from a lab accident in one of the research logs
Its not a divine punishment, (you) made that up
>It's a classic wuxia trope. You frick with the way gods intended, and gods frick up your entire bloodline.
In that case, it would only effect Eigong and her bloodline not the entire race
It's doing the soulsborne thing and using it as an excuse to make everything irreparably fricked
not him but in taoism, the tao is everything. why the frick wouldn't it know and frick with the experiment
>[head canon]
If it wasn't in the game, its a head canon
Please learn to understand subtext in fictional works. If author doesn't say something directly, it doesn't mean that it's not implied anywhere else, and educate yourself on the source material.
I thought literature classes exist specifically to teach this kind of thing - to understand what author is trying to convey through stories.
in his defense, you might be replying to a literal child.
>Please learn to understand subtext in fictional works.
The lab records tell you explicitly what happened
But ok Mr. subtext
eigong doesnt understand what happened you moron
Eigong has no understanding of what caused the virus. This is the entire reason why she's spent 500 years of utter incompetence throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks.
He's just baiting you. No ones this moronic.
A lab accident, which was created when chasing immortality (a classic Taoist trope) without blessing on deities (a classic wuxia trope), has resulted in a horrible disaster (a classic wuxia trope) which has doomed an large amount of population and caused large amount of suffering (a classic wuxia trope).
It depends on how badly you fricked up. Some stories describe bringing doom to entire nations just because some random dude did something which displeased some slightly-more-than-minor god.
The virus started after she fricked with the flowers that the dead people turned into. The pink slime mutation started after she fricked with Ji's cells
I thought the virus only started after she got her hands on Ji's body that was resurrected by the roots?
There is a planet-wide plant organism that provides them basically limitless energy as occasional regeneration, extreme longevity (Lear) and other weird shit.
A scientist tries to make immortality using that plant organism's DNA and a disease happens that turns people into plants.
And people STILL think Tianhou is unrelated to Fusang. I don't get it.
Isn't it more likely Solarians have been uplifted by Fusang since forever, maybe originally from cats, and Tianhou is a process triggered by Fusang? And that's why it happens everywhere, is connected to plants and they cant stop it?
whats Fusang again? the green glow?
the black roots plant
then wheres goumang art giving her human-like body and large breasts and buttocks?
that would ruin the design
thats the point of the fanart when they never seen the game's style
Just finished it and got the 100% ending. This game is legit a masterpiece. It's like if you had hollow knight and took out all the stuff that made hollow knight dogshit
Since Lady Ethereal's soulscape system isn't perfect, that means everyone that is asleep is already pretty fricked? Even if they wake up, they'll go crazy from being ripped away from their virtual paradise? How did the other sols sleep and wake up fine over the past 500 years?
The other sols have actual jobs to worry about
it's not really explained. It's implied that the sols wake up more to do important sol stuff, but normal solarians must've had to wake up a fair bit for food/water, right? Plus, even if the sols had to wake up often to do work, the fact that most of them haven't aged that much makes me assume that they still spent like 95-98% of the time in the soulscape if it was for 500 years
She said she fixed it slightly but I doubt it’s great. Eigong mentioned how it was fricking her head up
one shudders to imagine what depravities transpire within the deepest subconscious recesses of Eigong's soulscape
I thought most of them were hibernating
The reason the soulscape exists is to keep the brain active so the people hibernating don't turn into vegetables
> How did the other sols sleep and wake up fine
That's the great part: they didn't. An entry from Eigong mentions having terrible head pain after leaving the soulscape. Chances are likely they're all getting hit by it to different degrees while still doing their jobs.
>ungays your ji
Need futaji next.
The hexograms demand I breed with femJi.
I breed the male version
All Jis are valid.
So Yi only started martial arts after meeting Eigong and he became good enough in 10 years to not only become a Fangshi but to match Lear?
While also managing the Eternal Cauldron Project and checking up on satellite images and discovering new planets?
Huh kids got talent
Anyone have that image of the jiangshi soldiers being called lovers in the code?
Anyone?
What program are you using for that?
Eww, Gomang is a necrophile
I guess she deserved it then
Now now, it's not confirmed that she was fricking them (after turning them into Jiangshi)... Though I do wonder how she was going to feed that "rice" to them as a reward for their obedience...
But in that case she's into bestiality
yeah any relation Goumang had with these two would be fricked up. The way Solarians treat Humans in general would make any relationship with them very fricked up in the context of abuse and power
That’s exactly why Goumang probably liked them so much. She clearly enjoyed the power trip
it's implied (honestly more like outright stated) that either one or both of them were tortured and killed by someone, i'd assume another solarian since it was torture and not a normal death. so it makes me think it was more a weird twisted motherly love than anything else if she went all the way to revive them
went back just to confirm and forgot there was two coffins, so both were killed by some butthole for sure
I don't know what program is in that particular picture but I've been using AssetStudio.
1st. Eigong accidentally creats Tianhuo by synthesizing Solarian cells and root regeneration cells.
2nd. Eigong analyses Ji's cells and develops a cure prototype. All Solarians given this "cure" turn into mutants.
Picrelated (spoiler warning) is an anons explanation I like.
yeah that guy states what i tried to say earlier much better. I agree with his view.
I need to find out what spiked catboy wiener feels like
Please don’t lust after a cat boy that’s eternally 12 years old
Mentally 12 years old, that's why he's so cruelhouse
I love how Yi is always frowning despite Shuashuan being the ONLY PERSON who Yi speaks with using his least cynic sprite
dude just has the spite aura 24/7
He cannot be happy.
Forgot a book.
>Have you heard of Taoism? It's pretty interesting actually.
>finally get through Eigongs first phase with no healing left after half an hour of trying
>starts doing even more unblockables
just let me wiiiin
Charge parry dumbass
she attacks too quickly to charge those
Hahahaha
>he doesn't know about phase 3 full screen judgement cuts
Oh no no no
she only has one attack you can't charge parry (and I dunno, maybe some autist out there can, but I couldn't do it), it's one of the potential follow ups to her talisman grab. The others are very well telegraphed.
Why is chinese mythology like this?
I thought Zoroastrianism stayed confined to Persia and northern India
Because gods don't really operate on the same level as mortals do. Being siblings born of a primordial chaos isn't exactly the same as being born to the same mom.
literally all mythologies have incestuous relationships
>Yi: The Kunlun Immortal is just a myth.
It's all connected.
holy shit i didnt realize
Did you realize this? Funny how this relates to Ji again.
it's always funny seeing these murals in these fantasy combat games because something like this in any "normal" setting would be a somewhat metaphorized or canonically fantasized view of what happened, but with Solarians, you can absolutely just see "yeah some guys flew around a massive temple doing aerial kung fu and throwing flying swords at a single guy"
anyone got the prisoner token of the unlucky guy? I had a dream about Nine Sols and it had him and I'm trying to explain it to a friend
thank you
No problem friend. Also was it a wet dream
Damn... Where's her art?
Streamer cat exposes the truth.
>didn't want to make the heart with kaufu
yeah get mutated
>Aimu does a tour of Penglai
>Goes to Xia and gets along with the Taoists who don't know who she is and probably just think she's a journalist or something
>Goes to Ying and has to dodge rabid, tech-savvy orange fans at every turn
Would tier3 for her.
>god I'd simp for her so bad!
then go do it

Perfect.
Wait what??? I only found 3 of these with a 100% file??? Wtf??
They don't count towards the map data completion and are totally optional. You can find them when you kill specific mutants
you have to kill mutants in the empyrean district and research center with a talisman for some of them. Being crowdfund backer goals, they're not really essential anyway.
For purposes of better understanding the public general unconscious opinion on lore of this work, do you mind sharing your dream with us?
it was completely different from the game with nearly zero relation to the game itself.
The other episode was with Jihai, which was more clear because the objective was getting to his room which had lots of pictures of him in Penglai and with other humans (which I felt was super cute), and the vibe was way more calm, set in a residential building.
>dxhr + ns crossover
now THAT'S how you do fanfiction
But that's basically it, it felt very weird because it took me a while to realize that it was a completely different game for the two episodes
yeah it felt completely different. It was a much more higher res game just for that mode completely in first person and didn't even have any combat. Well, Yi could still jump and dash, but not attack, while Jihai could only walk and talk, and he was clearly more comfortable and submissive.
A mindspike user in the wilds of Collective? If Velzie wills it, so be it, but i thought such occasions were beyond Zanruka's flash, it's been a third of an eye since i've met somebody similar
yeah that game also got into my mind recently, super fricking fun. I still need to beat FRAME
what the frick does this mean
completely different game unrelated to Nine Sols. It's a browser adventure game that is really fricking good
https://corru.observer/
looks neat ill check it out thanks
>I felt very happy looking at the pictures in his room because it had pictures of humans and solarians mostly smiling, and there was one with baby Jihai where he looked like a little bean and it was pretty cute.
Aww... Shit like that makes me wish things weren't so damn bleak for Solarians in canon. Also thanks for reminding me to finish Corru Observer. Stopped at the god fight and it's been a while so I may just play from the start again to jog my memory on the story.
>Goumang
Someone needs to make a apeman version
is this game nonlinear with multiple points of progression and multiple entrances to areas like HK or nah? that's my single condition to play a metroidvania
The game is open, but still pretty linear.
bummer.
anything like HK you can recommend? I havent played many metroidvanias, but loved HK because of the open exploration.
planning on playing rain world because of the openness
Just give it a try nonetheless. What do you have to lose?
I especially hate going around looking for a singular point of progression in metroidvanias. despised that in super metroid and dropped the game before long. might give this a shot if it doesnt have that, I do love sekiro after all
yet some people like to shit on it. some people are really stupid I guess
>Rain World is not a metroidvania in the slightest
yeah I'm aware of that. I'll have to give it a shot and see if I like it
>might give this a shot if it doesnt have that
It's all pretty straightforward.
The game is hard as balls, though.
wouldnt have it any other way
Rain World doesn't have openness. At the beginning of the game you can either walk to a dead end or take the correct path and from there it's just a straight line
HK is honestly pretty unique in how open it is, most metroidvanias aren't at that level.
Rain World is not a metroidvania in the slightest. It's open world, but has no other aspects of the genre at all.
It's still a very good exploration game which i love to death and is certainly biased towards, but it may not have what you're looking for.
So when are we gonna get answers for apemen and solarian breeding success rates
100%
That's the rate for Human Male on Female Solarian couplings. Gousang contributed a lot of valuable data.
Who is the most racist solarian?
Yi and he progresses from solarian supremacist to apeman supremacist overtime
Would Yi post on solarian twitter about his apemen supremacy
He does that on ancient, barely-active solarian forums that he's been using since he first discovered the internet. His signature consists of a quote from every Fangshi philosophy text he's ever read and lots of gifs featuring his favorite edgy xianxia novel characters from when he was 10
stop calling it metroidvania when it's just fricking metroid
castlevania has RPG elements, most of those metroidvanias don't
nine sols actually does have some RPG elements
i bet you're the kinda autist who gets upset about people calling roguelite roguelikes
Rogueshit debate is a different flavour of autism because it stems from semantic shift as it wasn't factually incorrect from the beginning.
t. a roguelike-roguelite apartheid supporter
It has builds you dimwit
You sound autistic
I finished this game like 2 days ago and I'm already fricking missing those boss fights. I want to replay them so bad, they need to add a "choose-a-boss" mode or do a KH2-style post-game where you fight copies of all the major bosses but harder.
imagine if said boss rush also gave them new moves too
just finished this game, what the frick is with the moral of the story? "don't strive to better your situation"? "just give up and die, you cuck"? "know your place"? what bullshit is this? I'm assuming it's part of some moronic chink religion
if these people had their way we'd still all be shitting in fields and dying of dysentery.
Some disasters simply cannot be prevented, especially those borne from hubris and fueled by suffering.
Murdering millions of apemen to save your race is bad
humans would sacrifice another intelligent species if it meant our own survival, its just business
It was to love brown boys
God I wish that were me
The moral of the game is that good mobility, forgiving parries and cancellable animations make for very enjoyable combat and boss encounters
meh
it was alright
to me the fatal flaw was that only the twins and the final boss were hard enough to force you to use your tools and make it really fun
sounds like a you problem. Have you tried being more bad at videogames? I am and it worked great, I had trouble against most bosses.
>what the frick is with the moral of the story?
Jiequan was right. Observe how Yi changes and grows as a person over the course of the game. Heroes are forged in agony.
Absolutely based and Jiequan pilled
Speaking of agonypills...
Not at all, I enjoyed all of it, the highs and especially the terrible tragic and sad lows. The story elicited emotional reactions from me, and a game hasn't done that in a very long time. You may have a problem with it if you cannot let go, however.
Yi is a fricking b***h ass race traitor
the story in this seems like it's cancer
is it?
It’s one of the best stories in years
why do you say?
it looks like generic suffering cringe that koreans/chinks are obsessed with
Its not generic. but it does involve a lot of suffering
Yeah the story really falls off when he mind slaves goumang
So the meeting where Yi proposes the dreamscape plot to cryo-freeze everyone happens before they leave the planet right? Also do they just uproot Fusang and carry it with them on the ship?
He proposed the plan years before new kunlun warped to earth. It took them years to build the engines and other stuff
they didn't uproot Fusang exactly, New Kunlun is actually just the entirety of the island of Kunlun converted into a spaceship. Fusang was already there and they took it with them.
Correct. Fusang's primordial roots penetrates through all of the Solarian's planet, Penglai. Only the roots that were present on Kunlun island were uprooted which was just a very small piece of a planet-spanning root system.
If Fusang randomly uplifted the Solarians, could it eventually randomly uplift another species present on Penglai?
If it wanted to, sure.
Too bad it got uplifted into space, infected and then blown up lmao.
most of the fusang is still on penglai, you idiot
No, that was Eigong. Yi just put the shambling husks out of their misery.
Would you?
pic me of diving face first into the immortal bussy
The hexograms demand it.
>Shuanshuan demonstrates with all the items we gift him that he is a genius
>This is why he was chosen to be harvested
Crazy to think about.
>all harvested were genius tier
Grim
He really is a damn smart kid. Even Yi admits he's Grade SSS+++ wetware.
NO
I WAS DONE WITH THIS
Could the sols even give their seals to yi without dying or something
most of the sols killed themselves ironically enough
Why? For all purposes, yee just seething and acting moronic, he has no plan but to punish the council
It would be funny how less dark the story would be if they all just handed it over to em
Just think about it, step 1, get the seals
Step 2..? As i said, for all purposes, ye just want to kill possibly single person capable of finding the cure (well, at least they thought so)
I just don't like that Yi does that is all. I would've been more peaceful about obtaining the seals. Even if it meant beating their asses.
Yes, Kuafu allows Yi to access his Vital Sanctum and take his seal, and Yi simply enters Fuxi's sanctum and steals his seal.
all of them could but most of them wanted to kill Yi
With exception of Kaufu, they all would rather have thrown hands instead of handing over their seals for various reasons. In another life, peace would have been an option.
why is eigong so fricking ugly
you'd think she'd have prettified herself a bit with all the biotechnology they got
That sounds like time and energy spent on something other than SCIENCE, which is not Eigong's style. She can make herself as pretty as she wants when she's fricking immortal
Young Eigong.
It serves as her Bluetooth headphones
The thing around Kuafu's neck is called "Phone" in the game's files. You can see a Solarian wearing a very similar thing in Kuafu's photo. Perhaps Goumang's halo is what allows her to fly, because there's no way it's possible with just those wings of hers. Although her halo is just called "Hat" in the files.
Why the frick would she give herself wings if they didn’t let her fly
Soft feathery handjobs
The entire point of getting that modification was so that she could fly. It's something the Yumin people do after all, according to Yi.
sorry bro but i think sphinx cats are cute
Goumang had kids what are they gonna do now
die, presumably
Is the virus hereditary
did you play the game?
No. And I don't wanna play it cause goumang dies.
It's all-encompassing, even the method of transmission eludes the sols.
Be adopted by me
Explode in a nuke
Why is this game so kino
it's a game made by a non-american, non-japanese and non-european country but with actual polish and good game design so you get something genuinely unique and good that you can enjoy without many setbacks that games from those outer ring countries tend to deliver
what would they even do for a prequel/ sequel/ DLC? everyone died
Chien or Lear DLC
Chien DLC sounds like pure suffering kino given how she would up
>Time travel dlc
Sounds cool, maybe the solarians could be saved with Yi's future knowledge
plus the Tao realm allows for information to be sent through time so it wouldn't feel like a cop out
Literal worst case scenario, would be dogshit
>Literal worst case scenario, would be dogshit
I genuinely think the only people who hold this opinion are people who only liked the game for the furbait. I don't see how you could hold that opinion if you gave any shits about Shuanshuan or the human storyline.
Because i'm a misanthrope and i want to play as the funny cute Taiwanese space cats
Making the MC a human would ruin everything hopefully the devs have enough sense not to do that
kindly consider killing yourself
Shit taste
no u
nuh uh
yuh uh goumang is built for BHC
Time travel dlc where Yi murders that b***h Eigong on sight
Shuanshuan mini-sequel with him having to solve some human issues using his teachings from Yi
Why can't Yi just break Goumang's bell instead of exploding her legs
Because she was mean to him once
because they were engaging in life-or-death combat and she was actively trying to kill him you stupid fricking simp
It is perfectly fine to simp for goumang. She's just a farmer who was trying to feed people. Now the solarians will starve without her.
The true end fricked me up, bros...
But I like to imagine in the post-credits scene, the crying Shuan gets comforted by the Mystic Nymph and he begins to crack a smile when the sun rises to warm him up. Yi is still with him ;_;
The virus is actually a reference to toxoplasmosis isn't it
You do know cats can contract a body destroying virus literally called feline-aids right
no...
it's clearly not even an actual virus if it doesn't act like a virus and can't be cured tbh
no, moron
This "Virus" has no obvious ways of spreading like any other known virus and only seemingly spreads to just solarians. This virus is just racist tbh.
Why did the Solarians even go to Earth in the first place?
consider playing the game to find out
No, I don't read
They naturally craved apemen wiener
I would like a mod in which Yi goes full Naruto and convinces all Sols to join him. After defeat, each Sol moves to the four season pavilion and you can talk to them and they tell you bits of their story.
Lady E, Jiquan, and Ji would be tough to negotiate to join for various reasons.
>Ethereal's a brain in a state of torment for years
>Jiquan believes people are best forged through pain and already put Yi through hell
>Ji just wants to die
The rest I can see the hilarious potential.
genuinely curious how you would convince nuwa to give up on fuxi given you can't convince him
It's tricky but not implausible. If Fuxi were persuaded, Nuwa would follow without question. Offering to allow the party to continue and offering a safer venue at the Four Seasons Pavilion would be a good opener. Maybe providing the opportunity to look into curing Fuxi's ligma with Abacus' help would seal the deal.
what i mean is that fuxi won't agree with you because he is part of the mutant hivemind. thats why he even got nuwa to fight you, because the mutant hive mind is what was actually speaking to her through him
It's unclear if he's even alive. It's implied that Fuxi speaking to Nuwa is just her imagination. That's why convincing Nuwa is all that matters, once she's on board Fuxi will obey because of that mind control helmet he's wearing.
You convince her, she convinces herself that fuxi agrees with you, she uses her flute to control him into going along.
You wouldn't frick a weird cat thing, right?
Maybe.
>Has no simps
How did she do it
not enough Gankertards have studied architecture to appreciate her
>have studied architecture
where did this meme come from
i can simp for goumang because she has the potential to be alive in the normal end and take apemen backshots
lade e has the unfortunate fate of being a brain in a jar (and also 100% dead)
Imagine the soulscape dreamsex though
when you going to pound town with them staring you down
idk bro
They aren’t real so what’s the problem
Just have her chill in yours instead. It's been established that soulscapes can be shared.
fatass
Ladies need some meat on their bones
How often was Nuwa commanding her brother to plow her fields with his massive mutant minge mangler?
After he watches their opera (as a continuation of the story between the two lovers in said opera)
me in the back with the big shoes
Heres a real question.
How in the FRICK did Ethereal clean up her lab and make sure nobody knew what happened. She couldn't have told anyone for obvious reasons, so she must've done it all herself.
Eigong knew, so she probably handled the cleanup.
where the hell was this stated??? I thought what happened was she explicitly didn't tell Eigong because they would've cut funding
She didn't know. She complains about feeling weird after waking up in one of the logs
Yi ate them
She DID say she killed them all herself...
Is there any taoist significance behind the 500 year gap or the mention of 509 years?
Only thing I see is that its believed that Taoism was established in 500 bc.
>You were the best. You knew everything there was to know about everything...
>I might not have understood everything you said, but I wanted to cling to you all the time.
>To me, you've always been the smartest and most amazing person in the world.
Heng...
I hate Eigong so much it's unreal.
What do you think her fruit tastes like
salty jin
me and 60 other solarians gonna stone you to death homie
Wouldn't Yi just respawn back on pengali after nuking himself?
If he did (which would be hilariously anticlimactic) he could just hop into a bundle of roots and stay there like Lear did until he joins the Great Tao with Heng
i wish i could draw so i could create this awesome image
He responsible cause the roots. He blew up the roots too. So he's not coming back.
not that guy but there's roots on penglai. nobody knows how the roots actually work
Why is Yi's AI thing just him but naked?
Might be unused sprites for a virtual clone Yi boss fight, as mentioned in an interview the devs had not too long ago.
Or maybe Ruyi just likes Yi that much.
Gotta be tied to Heng somehow much like his flying fish. Would also explain why Abacus' sentimentality levels are so high.
Yi is an exhibitionist
he's a narcissist
Hes too autistic for that
He probably made abacus look like him out of pragmatism
I don't think that's Ruyi malfunctioning, I think that's just Yi not being able to communicate because the connection is spotty
>Load game to before the point-of-no-return to check something
>Back to title screen
>Title screen is back to the original
Guess I gotta teach Eigong another lesson
Last comment for goumang survived the story
If she can shrug off the events of the true ending, she's more than earned her survival.
