I did, you are now ignoring it. And so you will be ignored from here on.
ah cool you weren't joking about using my stupid meme to bait.
for anyone wondering it's just this, based on a post someone made in a thread about bo path of the teal lotus where an anon described it as >japanese nine sols, which is taiwanese hollow knight, which is australian dark souls
Yeah, there's no way I'm ever beating Eigong.
After 20 attempts I've only managed to get 10% of her health bar down.
I think I'm just going to give up and look up the endings on youtube.
I had to take a break after fighting her for an hour, because my index finger started aching a bit from mashing the parry button a bunch. Succeeded the next day after letting my hand rest a bit.
I thought it was going to be miserable for me but I was able to do it in a few attempts after coming back from sleeping. You can do it, broski. Always take advantage of the true parry when you can, it's literally free damage.
let's be honest and admit a game is fricking dogshit when anyone even considers doing this. I simply fought true radiance for an hour to ultimately beat radiant difficulty true radiance after a dozen or so tries. parrying was a mistake, dodges can be (and are in many games) so much better when the timing is less strict than a matter of frames but the element of spacing is added.
What the frick, it's like I'm playing an entirely different game than you
If I try any that crap I get hit despite not even being close to her animations
Well, as long as you had fun. I still wouldn't judge the game on your actions though.

it's hard to deny that Eigong (3 stage ver) is an insane difficulty spike compared to anything you had to fight before
such difficulty is usually reserved for secret bosses not the final one

It took me less time to get P3 down than it did the entry into P2 and P2 itself. P3 is just visually intimidating so when you get to it, you tend to panic or misjudge what's going on and that leads to dying. Once I got there and took a moment to see that, I got it down quickly.
>preventing shuanshuan from building the fortune teller
Ahh, so its one achievement or the other I see. Glad I kept them all alive, because breaking one would be much faster. But I'm probably not gonna cheevo hunt, seems like such a waste of time.
>preventing shuanshuan from building the fortune teller >tfw i didn't break any of them besides the one that goes aggro on you and the one that's pre-broken and i don't know wtf you're talking about
From what I heard it doesn't change the fight too much. It makes it slightly easier giving you more openings. Dialogue might be a little different though
depends on what bell puzzle you're stumped on. if it's the one in the tower where you meet that lil homie for the first time, there's an item you get eventually that reveals it. (just make sure you've been finding all the artifacts and giving them to shawn.)
if it's the one in the empyrean district, it's on a painting in the room to the upper left of the bell room.
Some cool myth facts.
Yi is based on Hou Yi, who shot down 9/10 suns.
Shennong was a man who ate poisonous herb to come up with medicine. Using tea instead of alcohol.
Kuafu was someone who wanted to chase and catch the sun. He eventually succumbed to thrist. Apparently that's why he's always drinking in the game.
Ruyi means "as you wish". It combines with the word for abacus is an expression means to be overly optimistic.
Fuxi and Nuwa were basically the Adam and Eve of China.
The Shanhai 9k tour guides are probably based on the Shanhai classic, a text of mythic geography and beasts.
Some bosses are based on beasts in this text, like Yingzhao, Goumang, Kanghui (otherwise known as Gonggong), Chiyou, Xingtian.
I had no idea why Lear didn't sound chinese. I looked up the hanzi and it's actually Li Er, or more commonly known as Laozi, the founder of Taoism.
Similarly, Lady Ethereal's chinese name is just butterfly, which is probably a preference to a story in one of Taoism's foundational texts, Zhuangzi. You probably know it, guy woke up aftering dreaming a butterfly, was he a butterfly dreaming a man, or the other way around.
Ji was too short for me to search info about, so I tried the hexagram divination instead, and found the I Ching divination. The main contributor was Ji Chang, the founder of Zhou dynasty, when Taoism appeared.
Yeah the Lear translation is a major oof. Calling him Laozi would have made the connection far more explicit and not make it sound like he's a random westerner.
>The Shanhai 9k tour guides are probably based on the Shanhai classic, a text of mythic geography and beasts.
For any other chinkshit webnovel readers out there, Shanhai is spelled with the runes 山海, which literally translate as 'mountain and sea'. Which I found enlightening. >Similarly, Lady Ethereal [references] guy woke up after dreaming a butterfly, was he a butterfly dreaming a man, or the other way around
That's a really interesting reference, for her character.
Though I understand the translators since Lady Butterfly would have just felt like an inappropriately-blatant Sekiro reference (and nobody would have connected it to that story anyway).
Wish it had some nicer designs for characters. Yi and Shuanshuan are good, but the rest is lacking. Combat is fine but the jump deflect for red attacks and green auro sucks wiener. Should have made it a 2nd deflect for strong attacks instead of jump.
Mostly age depended I've boticed through some basic survey (plebbit based though) and twitch streams people below 30 rarely have many issues with bosses purely due to reaction time and more plastic brain that molds fast to the need
Just beat the game; solid 8/10.
Some bosses felt too easy (Goumang; Crane-claw.) Others were great with a few flaws (Lady E; Jiequan; Ji; Twins.) And some were just bad (Eigong; Most mini-bosses.)
Fun exploring the map and the lore and art is interesting. Lots of little secrets and fun character interactions. Can't say much for the map design, but I never felt lost and could tell where I was rather easily.
Enemy variety was fine, lots of enemies are just 'small-guy-but-big/yellow' but they often have unique designs and additions that make it feel more like a way to let you apply old muscle memory to new enemies.
Didn't miss any-thing and never had to grind or any-thing like that, 12 hours to 100% no guide on standard difficulty.
Fun game, felt like one rather than a grind or way to pass time.
Suprised it's not more popular. Should be.
they didnt put out a lot of review copies, people look at it as a hollow knight derivative, and the fricked up stuff probably puts some people off would be my guesses. pray its a slow burn and it gets more popular the more time goes on
The robot in the area mentions how Yi would run past him without seeing him. Was he tripping on soulscape shit or was he unconsciously blocking out all the apeman brains
Dragged into the dream when walking past most likely.
The brain being gone until the signal; the jumpscare and the entrance the first time around being a tent/shroud/memorial thing hint towards it.

>mfw finally understand the Eigong fight (normal ending)
water flow + charged attack is actually crazy good, I was sitting on this combo all game. was able to beat it with only like 1-2 pipe uses
Once Taiwan reunion with china . This game will be praised by ccp for great interpretation of Chinese mythology. And the reviews will increase positive.
man they try really hard to make me care for shuanshuan but I just don't
I know I'm supposed to like him but I just don't
is there anything wrong with me?
did people actually struggle with it? the guy does like frick all but autistic tantrum left and right the axe and if you tag his ass during his heals it breaks him out of it instantly. Killing the 2 mobs isn't even hard since he's slow as shit and doesn't chase effectively while you deal with them
He's so basic that its hard to get into. At that point of the game you're very much used to long combos and this dude is essentially a basic mob with a huge healthbar.
I just spammed arrows at him.
top left of the research center place during the escape sequence at the very end of the game past point of no return.
If you go to your map during the sequence there's a ! on your map at the top left. Only happens if you 100% did all of chiyou's questline though (buy all his shit bring him all he asks)
Could it be that he asked for weapon 1, I gave him weapon 2 and the game bugged out?
Because I reloaded a previous save and I literally can't talk to him about it.
I'm gonna say it again: Yingzhao is just a little too brutal for a starter boss. Goumang is way easier and picking up the charge attack along the way also helps. You can even go further out of the way and pick up air dash and find Shennong to get at least one HP boost.
goumang sucks she is a gimmick boss >infinitely respawning mob >double boss battle that relies on one being quick and the other being slow so they can combo the player >actual health bar is invincible and untouchable until certain conditions are met
the problem with gimmick bosses is that they are either super easy for some players, or hardstuck walls for others and there is no balance
The final boss was a kino test of skill. The story is well-told, without the typical soul garbage of collecting 1000 items to have an idea of whats going on.
I wasn't expecting the credits song to be this fricking good, it was the cherry on the top.
Solid 8/10, doesn't innovate much as a metroidvania and the battle system is not really complex, but it was really enjoyable to play.
>been lurking in threads for a while >see everyone praising and having fun with the game >too poor can't buy the game >cant bring myself to pirate as well because I know I won't be able to enjoy the game knowing I pirated a good indie game
It's a feels kind of feels.
Same, but I pirated it anyway. I'll get it on sale at some point
Can't do it, I've pirated plenty of times before and the same thing always happens.
Play the game and start having fun if it's a really good game, but a bit later starts to feel guilty and end up stopping and never touching it again, autism issue I know but I can't help it.
You can buy it when you stop being poor.
I haven't bought a game since regional prices were removed in my country, but they're still wishlisted for the time I get a job.
I'm a student right now and can't really balance a part time job with my classes. Especially since I screwed up a few things during my uni stuff.
You can buy it when you stop being poor.

we need more protagonists like these, preferrably someone who keeps repeating a word like "chaos" and fools the entirety of Ganker into being a marketing campaign for the game by just repeating this single word
Yi cares quite a lot about some council members, he often tries to talk it out before fight becomes inevitable, sometimes not out of need but out of sympathy.
seriously, why didn't any of them just fricking give it to him? he's root-noded out the ass and literally impossible to kill, what's the point of fighting?
jiequan had the right idea, but then he too succumbed to the moronation
yeah but they were buddies even before that, fighting wasn't even on the table. nobody (outside of jiequan) ever acknowledges that beating Yi is impossible.
I was confused on that part. Jiequan implies his immortal and will just continually revive but then Kuafu and Abacus are scared he’s gonna die when Chiyou brings him back
>>Nuwa also did not mind.
She got pissy when he came for the second one, telling him he wasn't invited to the party. She could have just let him through.
Although Fuxi would still need to die as he is spreading the mutant virus by existing.
nah Nuwa flipped on it, more to the point she thought she could kill Yi despite all the root frickery, which is utterly moronic. i guess she wasn't exactly sane at that point though...
Honestly it was a real gamechanger when I realized in phase 2 and 3 after I make her parry whiff her talisman combo that ends in a little patch of fire on the ground I EASILY have enough time to dash in jump, slap a tag on her ass, and peace out before she recovers. I was slogging like crazy till I started doing this and then beat in her in the next 3 tries
So what is a sign I have everything for the true ending? Did the final village protection, gave all the stuff to shuanshuan, i THINK I did everything for the shanghai 9000 and the salesman?
you need to have a deep bond with shuanshuan (achievement), the poison guy has to have been made into the village chief, and you have to have found the rhizomatic bomb in the grotto and given it to kuafu
I used cheat engine to get 100% completion right before the cutoff point. Couldn't care less about le troony exploration and pixel hunting in those large maps to localize items I could've missed, especially in a game where boss battles are the highlights. The loading screens between rooms (seriously, in a 2024 game) and lack of movement options also do not help. (no shinespark as well)
>calling things troony
Die >pixel hunting
How? I grabbed everything in every area as I went through it by just jumping around.
Sounds like you just want a boss rush.
Honestly phase 2 is easier than phase 1 just because i fricking hate dodging the talisman dash move where it grabs you mid dash sometimes if it isnt tight enough. phase 2 seems to do it less so it's easier imo
The flash-slash attacks are the only new thing, and they always end the full sequence (flash into talisman into uppercut into finisher) with an unbound counter. Run the jade that transfers your internal damage on unbound counter and play hyper defensive.
But it does take a few tries to get the timing down, by which point you should be able to do the first phase with no mistakes and the second with only a few. The fast medicine pipe jade is also helpful here.
ok yeah it was just the intro flash slash dash bs of phase 3. legit got mugged the first run lmao
oh yeah I've been dashing instead of the air kick. I've been using water flow + charged attack mostly, the talisman dash is easy to dodge as well, i'm just moronic and sometimes do the dash too early

Full Controls damage is shit, the big 5 talisman blast does not make up for its long as charge. Water style of just spaming another talisman after each explosion does more damage over time and is much easier to apply.
I really like eigong fight because of how dynamic it is. Bosses usually have one or two attack pattarns which lead to a talisman window, instead she chains her attacks like crazy and forces you to constantly re-evaluate if going for a strong attack is safe. It's such a good change of pace, i wish more bosses would've done that
He doesn't deserve to be in it. He has colorful clothes, a distinct design, a voice and a personality. As much as I like Baba is you, Rain World and Hollow Knight, Yi just mogs them. He's not even truly white btw, he's asian white
Sorry anon, Rain World conveys it's message better by forcing player to adapt the buddhist lifestyle in order to complete the game. If you don't accept unfairness and suffering, or the game will spit you out.
Nine Sols just shows the consequences of rejecting the taoist way, with gameplay not directly related to it.
>i hate how flying enemies in this game keep hovering at fricking high distance.
You'll unlock abils which will let you deal with them easily. >And why there is no checkpoint when going back to the village...
Why would it be there, like logically.
It's a breeding pen, solarians need not apply
Those floating guys with two knives out that occasionally fly at you while spinning were my least liked enemy type. Like, they're not hard, but when I was just cleaning up areas to pick up any collectibles, they were really persistent about following you around sometimes.
There needed to be some kind of closure. Like a time skip showing the apes thriving instead of just landing there, like what they did in the 'good' ending.
I think there should have been three endings. Other then the current two, there should have been a third ending where if you DON'T min max your love and friendship with your bros and chose the apemen path you don't have the bomb so you see a truly bad ending of the entire thing getting infected. Would have made the true ending feel better if you could see the contrast of what would have happened without Yi's sacrifice.
The implication is that he becomes Eigong 2.0 but I don't see any reason why he'd go down that path. He seems mature enough to pass civilization down to the apemen if he realizes it's truly over for Solarians. I still like the true ending for being a human origin story.

The way I see it: Solarians are truly and utterly fricked; there's no cure for Tianhuo, and it's uncertain if the mutant strain in the research lab is being kept in check. Because of that, there is no guarantee that they'll make it safely to Penglai, and even if they do, it may or may not be inhospitable for apemen to live on, because we don't know what state it is in after New Kunlun left the planet, after all those years. So, while Yi doesn't die in this particular ending, and gets to be with Shuanshuan, he's delaying the inevitable, while the apemen are taken along for a ride with an uncertain future.
Really, all the solarians had to do was have Shennong bite a part off of an infected solarian and have him develop antibodies against Tianhuo. Easy!
The tianhou gene is literally why they're sentient.
In the lab you can see eigong remove the gene responsible for their susceptibility to the disease and her race turns into cats. As in, cats like here on earth. Which also means that catgirls are only a gene away!
Eigong specifically states that she created tianhuo by accident when messing around with solarian DNA, attempting to reach immortality. So, while tianhuo is basically like a self-destruct mechanism the virus exploits or whatever, they seemed to be doing pretty alright as far as sentience goes. Without Eigong's meddling, they probably would continue to exist fine on Penglai.
So I went past the Point of No Return and basically missed the entire Grotto/Grave of Lear sequences/secrets. Can someone fill me in if they ever explain WTF is going on with the roots/Lear/all the supernatural Tao shit?
dumb questions after finishing the game because I'm dumb and forget things
Why exactly was Yi unable to die again? like the tree roots kept reviving him? why? wtf was so special about that tree and why does only Yi get that infinite res power?
why could Heng hear the tree roots? also did that amount to literally fricking anything story wise?
I don't remember it being explained how Heng could communicate with the roots, but it definitely led to her causing the roots to revive him. If he wasn't pseudo immortal from this, Eigong would've successfully killed him in the intro sequence.
>like the tree roots kept reviving him? why? wtf was so special about that tree and why does only Yi get that infinite res power?
He got that power after the incident, most likely thanks to Heng. Why exactly roots keep him alive is not certain, but the fact that Leah himself decides to talk with Yi may mean that this is the way Tao has decided to enact it's plans. >why could Heng hear the tree roots? also did that amount to literally fricking anything story wise?
Heng is special, she has a much more innate understanding of Tao, not as a pretentious philosophical bullshit, but as a natural way of life. Her connection to roots is what most likely saved Yi from dying in his late childhood, so they're both part of the Tao.
Didn't the Council play a hand on grafting that chest hole on Yi though?
I don't remember the exact context, but I'm fairly certain he mentions owing his life to them at some point.
what if it's cyclical? >humans created solarians (solarians with the part of their DNA that the virus targets removed become regular housecats or at least i think that's what that log was trying to say, when i read it the information just kinda slid right off my smooth-ass brain to be honest) >solarians created apemen >apemen will go on to create solarian^2s
>This is not a cat, this is in fact an ancient Solarian descendant that has had the Tao forcibly removed from their spiritual and physical being, rendering them as this smaller animal with less brain activity >That's why Officer it can't be considered bestiality and I have not committed a crime
Just beat this boss, and I only ever invested 1 extra ammo into my arrows, so once those ran out I just had to pray that it wasn't in the middle of the arena when he did it again
I just parried knifes and dodged away from him and waited for a better timing to pop tali. I did full 5 charge after parrying the backwards slash attack, the window is huge.
>want to give you advice >realize the only boss that i struggled against enough to form a cognizant strategy beyond "jump attack/air parry and hope you win" is eigong
If it looks like an attack is impossible to Unbound Counter, it's usually because it's supposed to be dodged. See also Lady Ethereal's spirit bomb and some of Eigong's combos.
Also the Fengs have a huge ass arena, you can often just run away to handle the mechanics separately.
Don't get pushed into snakes, dodge instead of parrying if you're too close. You can also use knockback reduction jade.
Sweeping horizontal snake attack is kind of bullshit, you have to focus on it to time a dash just right.

beat the game. I am proud to say I did NOT use unbound parry ONCE for ANY boss fights. It took me long enough to learn parry timings let alone this reverse timed parry shit. I only used it during mandatory puzzle sections.
Only hard fights were eigong, lady ethereal, feng twins. In that order. Turns out having 3 fricking phases is gonna add to your difficulty who'd have thought
Goumang took me a while but not that bad. The rest was fairly whatever
Ji could actually make a good dlc protag >lives forever, so you can put him into any situation whereever >small main hitbox so level design would stay mostly the same >wealth of ideas for mechanics with teleportation and transformation >story potential because of precognition
>kill Ji >get black screen instead of main menu
Suits me right for being a filthy pirate I guess
I'll see if I can salvage my save file but it might be owari da
From what I've read from patch notes, the black screen issue seems to stem from some graphics setting related thing. You'd need to modify the graphics settings a bit to make the black screen issue go away.
>yfw the only reason why the earth has cats is because uncle chubby attempted to cure himself when he got to earth and released members of his species without the virus gene in the wilds
I really liked the story, but it left me with a niggling feeling that I just wanted to know more. There might not be enough material to cover for more than maybe DLC, but I just wanted to learn more about the day-to-day stuff between the Sols, you know?
In contrast, in something like Hollow Knight while I appreciate the overall stories and lore, I don't have any particularly strong feelings about most of the characters involved. You grow an attachment maybe to one or two characters, like with Quirrel, but I don't ultimately feel like I need to know more about them.
Like, there's nothing wrong with having a more hands-off approach to delivering a story, but damn did Nine Sols deliver for me.
Not the best OST but I fricking love the credits song and Last Man Standing. I dunno maybe it'll grow on me. I didn't used to really love most of the Hollow Knight OST until I sat with it a while.
Nine Sols' OST is one of those that works in the moment, while you're playing it, but might not work too well in isolation. There's still a few tracks I liked, but a lot of it is still more atmospheric than something to hum to.
For me, it's Lady Ethereal's fight.
It's what carried me through that hour-and-a-half. Not incredible on its own but combine it with her crazed laughter and the background changes between phases and it rises above the sum of its parts.
I had the same experience with the final boss, too. The music changing up in the final phase just gets me all tingly while trying to survive.
You just can't get that experience while listening to the OST on its own.
Okay what the frick is up with Eigong?
Her talisman teleports you in front of her
Her red slash moves towards you diagonally
Her three after-effect slashes have extremely moronic hitboxes
There's even barely a rhythm to her basic attacks
I struggled on some of the bosses so far, but all of them at least felt fair
Her talisman attack eventually became the one thing I could consistently parry every time. It's just bullshit that you get zero openings for doing it.
I unbound parried her screen-filling slash attack once and it doesn't even stun her so there's no point. Just dodge parry parry dodge. Or honestly double jump over it parry parry dodge. Or if she's doing the second variant double jump parry parry jump dash.
Yeah, I had the same issue. I think I bugged my game by giving him the second item for his first request, because I can't seem to trigger his second request.
>finish game >immediately look up let's plays >first one I find the dude doesn't even read lore pickups and skips all dialogue
Willing to bet at some point he'll complain he doesn't know what's going on.
Big spoils: The three statue door is Lear's tomb. To open it you have to find the three tombs of his disciples in this area and the one next door. They're all a little out of the way and each contains a parry challenge. Then a miniboss appears at Lear's tomb and it's the most heinous miniboss in the whole game.
Yeah, no, I give up.
Second stage Eigong doesn't even telegraph her attacks, they just appear randomly.
I do not have the patience nor the time to suffer through her first phase only to immediately die at her second phase.
I rate the game a 6/10. If the bosses were better designed and the combat was a little better this game would easily have been GOTY.
I am not 15 anymore, anon.
In the past I could easily spend an entire weekend on this.
Unfortunately I now have responsibilities that come with being an adult.
Man, I wish immortality was a thing already so I wouldn't have to worry about missing out on things and could just take my time with everything.
>Second stage Eigong doesn't even telegraph her attacks, they just appear randomly.
They don't, there is a tell for everything she does. Stop panicking and take some time to just watch her attacks.
Then you aren't actually paying attention to her. Take the sword waves for example, She will close her eyes as she enters her lai stance, then a sec or two after she opens them she does her red slash and follows that with two white slashes in the same tempo, then she will either raise her sword above her before doing one more red slash or she will put her sword to her side and lean forward to do the judgement cut like attack.
Really, just take some time to watch her, even if you eat shit doing it.
>She will close her eyes
What the actual frick is this dog shit
Yeah, no, I gave the game a pass for all the other terrible bossfights because I managed to get through them eventually, but I'm at my limit with this bullshit
P3 Lady is no longer disguised as one of her clones so you'll always know if it's her or not. Landing a talisman will always make her freeze and despawn all clones temporarily. For her genki dama just parry to both sides then dash. Catch her in the air for a big damage window.
>For her genki dama just parry to both sides then dash
To add to this, parry in the air with tai chi kick, it's easier since you don't have to worry about turning to face each one and you will already be in the air for the dash dodge.
>people saying they beating the game 17 hours in >im 15 hours in and only just killed lady ethereal
how the frick are you beating it in 17 hours? i'm barely struggling on the bosses
My Story Mode file is at 13hrs and my regular one I did after is at 16. Granted I knew where basically everything was the second time around but 17 seems reasonable if you're not constantly backtracking.
One interesting but easily missable detail is that she wears her amulet on her forehead after becoming a Dusk Guardian. I wonder if they are going to elaborate on her story.
...

It even says the games name in that image.
I think he was just making a funny joke...
>I think he was just making a funny joke...
Sorry, I get kinda irate about this stuff when you have actual pedophiles posting softcore e-girl porn 24/7 on this modforsaken board.
Reddit may be better place for you.
No, you fricking double Black folk
If you want to jerk off to e-girl THEN GO DO SO OVER AT /b/ WITH YOUR FELLOW DEGENERATES.
THIS IS THE VIDEO GAME BOARD
FOR, YOU KNOW, FRICKING VIDEO GAMES
DEATH TO COOMERS
DEATH TO COOMERS
DEATH TO COOMERS
you don't fit in
This game's got nothing pedo about it. Just a grumpy scientist cat and a curious child bonding over the course of the game.
>when you have actual pedophiles posting softcore e-girl porn 24/7 on this modforsaken board.
I think you should just leave instead of having eventually blowing vein in your brain over fictional content.
>of eventually
He's bothered by people making art and comments. He's not fit for the internet or life in general since he can't reconcile that fiction isn't hurting anyone and it's pointless to sperg out about it.
See
Please tell me how e-girl porn is related to video games.
Go on, I'm waiting.
>art of video game characters
Pretty self explanatory. If it was art of Lady E, you would be very silent right now.
Anon, what color is this board?
I don't see any porn images being posted and board color has never, ever, dedicated what can be discussed. Topic does that.
Please answer my question.
And while you're at it: what does the board color signify?
I did, you are now ignoring it. And so you will be ignored from here on.
i just started this game an hour ago but this relationship does seem pedo coded
ah cool you weren't joking about using my stupid meme to bait.
for anyone wondering it's just this, based on a post someone made in a thread about bo path of the teal lotus where an anon described it as
>japanese nine sols, which is taiwanese hollow knight, which is australian dark souls
i swear i didn't really mean anything by it.
>picrel
We really did come full circle... life is beautiful
>no iframes after getting hit
who the frick thought this was a good idea
You have an instant recovery dash in the skill tree.
You can also parry after taking a hit. Still, feels like the recovery dash should've been in the default kit.
>Like fighting a boss
>Don't want to kill it or make any progress
What do
Pray that they patch in a boss rush mode or that one anon finishes their mod.
Back up your save file.
Also is the boss Jiequan? I don't want to replay the game up to his part
how are you healing
There's a jade which recovers internal damage on hits. I don't remember how i got it though.
You're way more mentally ill than actual furgays, troony.
Best girl
somethingawful lost
join lowtax and eat some 5.7
Yeah, there's no way I'm ever beating Eigong.
After 20 attempts I've only managed to get 10% of her health bar down.
I think I'm just going to give up and look up the endings on youtube.
Damn homie you suck ass
20 attempts is nothing
Just keep going at it, you will eventually no-damage the first two phases
If you're gonna give up anyways, just turn on journalist mode
Previous anons have struggled to beat her, they took a break and came back hours later and kicked her ass. You can do it.
I had to take a break after fighting her for an hour, because my index finger started aching a bit from mashing the parry button a bunch. Succeeded the next day after letting my hand rest a bit.
Do it for Heng.
I thought it was going to be miserable for me but I was able to do it in a few attempts after coming back from sleeping. You can do it, broski. Always take advantage of the true parry when you can, it's literally free damage.
I downloaded a trainer and trained each of her stages for 1 hour with infinite health, not attacking, just parrying
then I beat her 3rd try
let's be honest and admit a game is fricking dogshit when anyone even considers doing this. I simply fought true radiance for an hour to ultimately beat radiant difficulty true radiance after a dozen or so tries. parrying was a mistake, dodges can be (and are in many games) so much better when the timing is less strict than a matter of frames but the element of spacing is added.
There isn't anything particularly wrong with either approach. It depends on what kind of combat the designers want to aim for.
video games are obviously better when the gameplay doesn't boil down to le QTEs. be serious and admit you prefer games with less depth.
But you can dodge everything the final boss does in Nine Sols, too?
moron
What the frick, it's like I'm playing an entirely different game than you
If I try any that crap I get hit despite not even being close to her animations
>let's be honest and admit a game is fricking dogshit when anyone even considers doing this
I don't judge games by what a moron does.
uhh frick you? infinite health training against Eigong were the best 3 hours I spent in Nine Sols
Once I got there and took a moment to see that, I got it down quickly.
filtered, both of you
What was his fricking problem
Tbh I would also be kinda scared any apeman I saw would want revenge for the heinous shit I'd been a party to that they surely must know about by now.
where are the kuafu racist memes
Not racist. Just don't like 'em.
>UH ALL THE APEMEN OR APEGGRS AS I LIKE TO CALL THEM
Fricking calm down, kuafu
Bros...
;_;
Shit happens, man.
already did. no boss replay mode so uninstalled
8/10
Anon was working on a mod
Just realized that chien was the one writing all those duskguard reports you find.
I did it bros.
It's probably gonna be my GOTY.
Does breaking the map robots do anything?
not really, other than giving you the achievement and preventing shuanshuan from building the fortune teller
>preventing shuanshuan from building the fortune teller
Ahh, so its one achievement or the other I see. Glad I kept them all alive, because breaking one would be much faster. But I'm probably not gonna cheevo hunt, seems like such a waste of time.
>preventing shuanshuan from building the fortune teller
>tfw i didn't break any of them besides the one that goes aggro on you and the one that's pre-broken and i don't know wtf you're talking about
>threads slowing down drastically
Solbros, it was a good run. See you in the Great Tao.
this is normal as a new wave of players come in and take their time beating it. just wait, people will be begging for advice in a few hours
Hope you're right man. If that fricking undertale fangame had threads for half a year we can have threads for at least half a month.
I love this chicken.
she is mine!
Should I use the gene eradicator
From what I heard it doesn't change the fight too much. It makes it slightly easier giving you more openings. Dialogue might be a little different though
It gives you an achievement if you do use it
Ok how to I solve those bell puzzles? I have no idea how to ring all at the same time. Nothing works.
...you're not supposed to ring them all at the same time
it's an order thing
How do I know the order?
depends on what bell puzzle you're stumped on. if it's the one in the tower where you meet that lil homie for the first time, there's an item you get eventually that reveals it. (just make sure you've been finding all the artifacts and giving them to shawn.)
if it's the one in the empyrean district, it's on a painting in the room to the upper left of the bell room.
First puzzle is tied to an item you give to Shuanshuan.
Second puzzle you just go to a room connected to it.
I'm stumped on the rest though.
Heng is based on who was the archer Yi's wife
Damn, anon. That's some fine detective work right there.
Xingtian is a guy who loses his head and then his body becomes his head all so he can kill god
Meanwhile games written by westeners:
Yeah the Lear translation is a major oof. Calling him Laozi would have made the connection far more explicit and not make it sound like he's a random westerner.
>Fuxi and Nuwa were basically the Adam and Eve of China.
Is it just normal for siblings to frick for Solarians then?
Based solarians
quties!
I do not remotely blame fuxi, his sister is hot as hell
>2x more expensive than hollow knight
yea im pirating this shit homie
Beat jiequan in like 5 attempts was he supposed to be hard
He wasn't that tough, I found.
Should be.
they didnt put out a lot of review copies, people look at it as a hollow knight derivative, and the fricked up stuff probably puts some people off would be my guesses. pray its a slow burn and it gets more popular the more time goes on
It won't be popular. Not when it looks like shit
>100% in 12 hours
how? It took me 24.
Mis-read 17 as 12...
I started after they reworked the maps so chances are that's why I took less time.
>parry eigong's stupid talisman attack
>don't even get a single free hit out of it
God I hate her so much.
Im just glad that more games are copying Sekiro's formula
I just entered the soulscape area and holy shit this is pure kino
you are in for a treat
How the hell did she do this? Why did she do this?
The robot in the area mentions how Yi would run past him without seeing him. Was he tripping on soulscape shit or was he unconsciously blocking out all the apeman brains
Dragged into the dream when walking past most likely.
The brain being gone until the signal; the jumpscare and the entrance the first time around being a tent/shroud/memorial thing hint towards it.
ywnbaj
you will never be normal, you animal fricking freak, have a nice day you deranged freak.
tfw playing a game with two-legged animal characters literally makes you a dog fricking animal suit wearer
thread is about a video game, not furshit porn, homosexual
Goumangs game, aka my moms game. My mom who was wrongfully brutalized by some manlet
cute cripplewife
>dogshit FOTM furshit thread still up
go back to
you fricking subhuman furries.
This is just a game with cartoon cat people characters. It's on the level of like pokemon or something. Why are you guys throwing a melty over it?
whats FOTM you pol-chud
Never, kneel. Stop resisting. Just let it happen.
do you not understand that pissing off normalgays is the best part
bro at least change the filenames so you don't look as pathetic as the people you hate
somethingawful lost
lowtax killed himself
shmorky died of aids
all of the gay let's players trooned out or became soimen
all of the based furgay destroying helldump/FYAD users trooned out and killed themselves
vilerat was killed by sandBlack folk for being a glowBlack person
its your turn to join them all
kys, you will never win. feel free to kneel at any time.
why did she turn herself into a butterfly lady
Its the ideal figure for swooping down and abducting manlet solarians.
Her character is based on taoist myth
"I dreamt I was a butterfly..." etc
Yes Taoism
It's from Zuangzi book. He dream he was a butterfly. But when he wake up he is not sure that he is dream of butterfly or butterfly are his dream.
The matrix spinoff also use this as reference
I stand with Eigong!
t. No one
>the loonatard is here
almost as cringe as the 10buxer
dunno why that part would be circled then
guess anon used an old image lol
because it says no anthro PORN, not no anthro outright
Yi's ears have bones.
yo FRICK THIS GUY
took me over 10 tries
fricker is just SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM
You can go past him and break the shield generator and come back
Why is he like this
(For Ban Evasion)
The great pro anthro - anti anthro war (anti anthros are the humans and pro anthros are the machines)
>mfw finally understand the Eigong fight (normal ending)
water flow + charged attack is actually crazy good, I was sitting on this combo all game. was able to beat it with only like 1-2 pipe uses
Frick why couldn’t I save lady ethereal…
everyone is far past the point of saving, anon.
you can still choose to save Yi anon
so he can't find a way out of being a good brother again
the game is Overwhelmingly Positive if you filter out Chinese language reviews, so frick the CCP i guess
they're being review bombed by chinese bot for their past game
Once Taiwan reunion with china . This game will be praised by ccp for great interpretation of Chinese mythology. And the reviews will increase positive.
man they try really hard to make me care for shuanshuan but I just don't
I know I'm supposed to like him but I just don't
is there anything wrong with me?
You are furry.
And nothing wrong with it .
He’s literally a substitute for Yi’s dead sister
Stupid sexy ji
Wow, someone actually beat me to it. Welp, enjoy Yi channeling some Confucius trying to solve the mystery that is Ji.
FRICK WHY COULDNT WE SAVE HER
OH WOW
>you are supposed to lose here
NICE DESIGN
Heroes are forged in pain
Suffering builds character anon.
The bedroom eyes are pure sexo
split his ass on my wiener
Why was this fight so shitty?
Parry 5 times and you've beaten him.
He only has two or three attacks and it's not the end of Yanlao's segment
I uploaded the wrong pic. I meant the extra fight during the point of no return.
did people actually struggle with it? the guy does like frick all but autistic tantrum left and right the axe and if you tag his ass during his heals it breaks him out of it instantly. Killing the 2 mobs isn't even hard since he's slow as shit and doesn't chase effectively while you deal with them
It's just not fun to fight against
He's so basic that its hard to get into. At that point of the game you're very much used to long combos and this dude is essentially a basic mob with a huge healthbar.
I just spammed arrows at him.
Wait, where is this? I think I skipped this fight.
top left of the research center place during the escape sequence at the very end of the game past point of no return.
If you go to your map during the sequence there's a ! on your map at the top left. Only happens if you 100% did all of chiyou's questline though (buy all his shit bring him all he asks)
That's weird, there's nothing there for me.
I did buy everything and got him that weapon he needed for his brother.
Was there a third step I missed?
he asks for 2 weapons
Could it be that he asked for weapon 1, I gave him weapon 2 and the game bugged out?
Because I reloaded a previous save and I literally can't talk to him about it.
>got filtered by the red centaur boss like 20 times
>beat Jiequan in 5 attempts
>beat lady ethereal in 3 attempts
I’m getting good bros…
I'm gonna say it again: Yingzhao is just a little too brutal for a starter boss. Goumang is way easier and picking up the charge attack along the way also helps. You can even go further out of the way and pick up air dash and find Shennong to get at least one HP boost.
goumang sucks she is a gimmick boss
>infinitely respawning mob
>double boss battle that relies on one being quick and the other being slow so they can combo the player
>actual health bar is invincible and untouchable until certain conditions are met
the problem with gimmick bosses is that they are either super easy for some players, or hardstuck walls for others and there is no balance
Just keep running away and using charge attack to outrange them.
The final boss was a kino test of skill. The story is well-told, without the typical soul garbage of collecting 1000 items to have an idea of whats going on.
I wasn't expecting the credits song to be this fricking good, it was the cherry on the top.
Solid 8/10, doesn't innovate much as a metroidvania and the battle system is not really complex, but it was really enjoyable to play.
>been lurking in threads for a while
>see everyone praising and having fun with the game
>too poor can't buy the game
>cant bring myself to pirate as well because I know I won't be able to enjoy the game knowing I pirated a good indie game
It's a feels kind of feels.
Just pirate it anon.
Can't do it, I've pirated plenty of times before and the same thing always happens.
Play the game and start having fun if it's a really good game, but a bit later starts to feel guilty and end up stopping and never touching it again, autism issue I know but I can't help it.
I'm a student right now and can't really balance a part time job with my classes. Especially since I screwed up a few things during my uni stuff.
Idk man. Just knowing I'll get it eventually is enough to not guilt-trip myself. Do whatever's comfy, Anon
Same, but I pirated it anyway. I'll get it on sale at some point
You can buy it when you stop being poor.
I haven't bought a game since regional prices were removed in my country, but they're still wishlisted for the time I get a job.
>tfw was hoping some big dick rich Chad would gift the game on steam
Well I guess you can't expect miracles to just happen to you :')
So when Heng tells us to do nothing and wait to die, it's based? But when Nuwa tells people to party and wait to die, it's cringe?
That's simply the way of the Tao.
It's about accepting it. If you're blocking out reality then you're still denying its inevitability.
What's the difference if you die in the end anyway? You go out satisfied either way.
I'm just pointing out the difference, I don't agree with it. The game supports Heng because she's the only character that advocates acceptance.
>But when Nuwa tells people to party and wait to die, it's cringe
I don't think the game implies that.
But then this means the game says that drugged out month-long cat sex parties are, infact, a good thing. And there's no way that's the case.
Anon, that's the overarching moral message of Nine Sols...
the whole point of Nuwa though is she delusionally thinks things are going to get better. like she's shooting vaccine into a 500 year old corpse
>the whole point of Nuwa
is to love her brother, anon. Like love love.
I don't think yi cares he just want the seal
we need more protagonists like these, preferrably someone who keeps repeating a word like "chaos" and fools the entirety of Ganker into being a marketing campaign for the game by just repeating this single word
Yi cares quite a lot about some council members, he often tries to talk it out before fight becomes inevitable, sometimes not out of need but out of sympathy.
he doesn't care that much
except a certain bird cat
that was just down right hatred
Maybe he just hates women?
The fat homosexual cat did get to live after all.
He tried to save Lady E but it was a bit too late for him to do anything.
and Yi will continue stop caring in the normal ending
/v/, hand over your Sol Seal.
I will never hand it over so now we must fight needlessly.
seriously, why didn't any of them just fricking give it to him? he's root-noded out the ass and literally impossible to kill, what's the point of fighting?
jiequan had the right idea, but then he too succumbed to the moronation
Kuafu gave it to him.
yeah but they were buddies even before that, fighting wasn't even on the table. nobody (outside of jiequan) ever acknowledges that beating Yi is impossible.
I was confused on that part. Jiequan implies his immortal and will just continually revive but then Kuafu and Abacus are scared he’s gonna die when Chiyou brings him back
I imagine that dying would take 500 years to recover from again, and respawning only happens quickly for game-play reasons.
Jiequan was quite reasonable if you consider the bigger picture. Either he wins and it's epic, or Yi wins and he gets an equally epic kino death.
>why didn't any of them just fricking give it to him?
Ji "did", technically, but he wanted to a last-minute frick.
Nuwa also did not mind.
>>Nuwa also did not mind.
She got pissy when he came for the second one, telling him he wasn't invited to the party. She could have just let him through.
Although Fuxi would still need to die as he is spreading the mutant virus by existing.
>She got pissy when he came for the second one
She didnt, she was about to hand it out but then muntant brother got nagery
those were just corpse grunts that she was schizoing out over. it's like the voices told her to do it.
Was he even intelligent enough to be saying anything, or did Nuwa just make that up?
Nobody knows, but it Eggnogg's research is true an not just her copium, the mutants actually their own race and have a mind
nah Nuwa flipped on it, more to the point she thought she could kill Yi despite all the root frickery, which is utterly moronic. i guess she wasn't exactly sane at that point though...
I'm just here to kill chaos
I think Yi is pretty cool. He kills sols and doesnt afraid of anything
kek. Nice
but he should be "eh"
>got game, expected just edgy stuff
>got many gato sexo
>got depressed
pick was me the whole game
HOLY FRICK FINALLY.
>That one Heng and Yi memory
You should have gone with her to the seaside, Yi. While you still had the chance...
forgot i had to go through the heng scene again for the true ending run in the lab
what did he see
He saw Yi naked from the front.
What would happen if put something in Yi's heart hole?
It would be extremely painful.
He's a little guy
l-lewd!
I want to hug Yi and tell him that he tried his best.
drugged up drummer cat's massive dick
I am going to HENG
HENNNNNNNNNNNNNNG
OH GOD I'M HENGINGGGGGGGGGGG
Warning. Do not watch if Heng is your weakness.
cute
Incest the game
and that's a good thing
ok you weren't kidding about eigong phase 3 what in the frick
I think if you get to that phase its okay to cheat now.
Die
>pixel hunting
How? I grabbed everything in every area as I went through it by just jumping around.
Sounds like you just want a boss rush.
Honestly phase 2 is easier than phase 1 just because i fricking hate dodging the talisman dash move where it grabs you mid dash sometimes if it isnt tight enough. phase 2 seems to do it less so it's easier imo
ok yeah it was just the intro flash slash dash bs of phase 3. legit got mugged the first run lmao
The talisman dash move is literally the easiest attack to deal with in her moveset. It's free damage or Qi charge, every time.
oh yeah I've been dashing instead of the air kick. I've been using water flow + charged attack mostly, the talisman dash is easy to dodge as well, i'm just moronic and sometimes do the dash too early
What food did they eat that caused mass extinction?
Don't tell me is Batsoup
None. Old Cat b***h accidentally made it while fricking with Solarian DNA to create immortality.
Full Controls damage is shit, the big 5 talisman blast does not make up for its long as charge. Water style of just spaming another talisman after each explosion does more damage over time and is much easier to apply.
Counterpoint:
rule of cool
I used internal damage perfect parry jade + water flow to ditch out insane single hit damage numbers, up to 30% health per talisman
I really like eigong fight because of how dynamic it is. Bosses usually have one or two attack pattarns which lead to a talisman window, instead she chains her attacks like crazy and forces you to constantly re-evaluate if going for a strong attack is safe. It's such a good change of pace, i wish more bosses would've done that
Fuxi tends to convert his downward claw slash into a reverse claw which is pretty neat.
I nominate adding Yi to the "white creature indie game protagonist" list.
He's more off a piss-stained off-white than pure white imo
Oh Yi's pissed alright.
There, happy now?
Tbh, the yellow kinda clashes compared to the others.
I would have sex with all of them
>CAPTCHA: 0TR0
10/10 drawing
Sorry anon, too much yellow
He doesn't fit
Ah Fez. If only the dev didn’t have his sperg out, we could have a second or third game by now. What a shame.
uhhhh, hello???
help???
Oh shit, she's Force choking that cat!
>What's wrong, Eidong? Slowing down in your old a-ACK.
mogged
Yi is too yellow to be counted amongst the white... How ironic.
Would you recommend the game if the only reason I'm interested is because I saw Shuanshuan x Yi porn
sure, but you also should show me the porn
It got fixed a few days ago.
>goumang would permanently break
Yeah, like my pirate games are ever up-to-date.
>suck in the lady ethereal realms
I want to suck on Lady E's realms if you catch my drift
i hate how flying enemies in this game keep hovering at fricking high distance. And why there is no checkpoint when going back to the village...
>i hate how flying enemies in this game keep hovering at fricking high distance.
You'll unlock abils which will let you deal with them easily.
>And why there is no checkpoint when going back to the village...
Why would it be there, like logically.
It's a breeding pen, solarians need not apply
>Why would it be there, like logically.
i think he just means one of those non-diagetic checkpoints, like you get during the lab escape
Those floating guys with two knives out that occasionally fly at you while spinning were my least liked enemy type. Like, they're not hard, but when I was just cleaning up areas to pick up any collectibles, they were really persistent about following you around sometimes.
can somebody post the ost rips from last thread

Goodnight.
These were good threads when they lasted
Everything will eventually pass anon, its best not to cling on longer than needed
I refuse to let these threads die. I will fight the Tao. Brb
Your blind enthusiasm won't only kill this thread, but all nine sols threads
Don't worry, I'm going to make these threads immortal. That way they'll be good forever.
So we'll be come mutants that all share a braincell?
Or become incredibly gay?
>Or become incredibly gay?
My fellow Fangshi, this is Ganker.
Worse, we have to accept we're apemen
the threads were filled with chinese shills from the beginning, as most chinese games will tend to
they were never good by default
>chinese
>taiwan game
Try harder
yeah both sides of the sea are
more than 90% of Taiwanese claim han chinese ancestry
try harder
I liked the "good' ending more than the true because Yi lives and is vibin. True ending is supposed to be better just because they frick off to earth?
That's what I thought too, lmao. I guess it depends on your perspective on how the apeman should be treated.
The way I see it:
Solarians are truly and utterly fricked; there's no cure for Tianhuo, and it's uncertain if the mutant strain in the research lab is being kept in check.
Easy!
I get a feeling tianhou is a little more than just a "poison", anon, shit is like DNA coded
I know, but it'd be funny if the solution was that simple.
The tianhou gene is literally why they're sentient.
In the lab you can see eigong remove the gene responsible for their susceptibility to the disease and her race turns into cats. As in, cats like here on earth.
Which also means that catgirls are only a gene away!
>Catgirls
catboys*
Eigong specifically states that she created tianhuo by accident when messing around with solarian DNA, attempting to reach immortality. So, while tianhuo is basically like a self-destruct mechanism the virus exploits or whatever, they seemed to be doing pretty alright as far as sentience goes. Without Eigong's meddling, they probably would continue to exist fine on Penglai.
Why didn't Jiequan simply cultivate enough power to overcome the virus?
He was courting death.
So I went past the Point of No Return and basically missed the entire Grotto/Grave of Lear sequences/secrets. Can someone fill me in if they ever explain WTF is going on with the roots/Lear/all the supernatural Tao shit?
After you beat the game, loading the save gives you an option to go back in time before the point of no return.
dumb questions after finishing the game because I'm dumb and forget things
He didn't die because of the roots, but what made him able to get back to normal functionality is the device that Eigong installed
I see, that makes sense.
Apemen are not modern humans
Correct, they're proto-proto-proto-Indo-Yangshao-Yamnaya.
My ancestors...
🙂
what if it's cyclical?
>humans created solarians (solarians with the part of their DNA that the virus targets removed become regular housecats or at least i think that's what that log was trying to say, when i read it the information just kinda slid right off my smooth-ass brain to be honest)
>solarians created apemen
>apemen will go on to create solarian^2s
Be right back Gankerros, I need to genetically uplift my cat.
Kuafubros, is this true? I thought he hated A*em*n?
>This is not a cat, this is in fact an ancient Solarian descendant that has had the Tao forcibly removed from their spiritual and physical being, rendering them as this smaller animal with less brain activity
>That's why Officer it can't be considered bestiality and I have not committed a crime
Currently stuck on the Fengs
>Two flying knives appear when the big guy charge a crimson attack
>mfw
Bro your stagger arrows attack cancel?
Just beat this boss, and I only ever invested 1 extra ammo into my arrows, so once those ran out I just had to pray that it wasn't in the middle of the arena when he did it again
I just parried knifes and dodged away from him and waited for a better timing to pop tali. I did full 5 charge after parrying the backwards slash attack, the window is huge.
>want to give you advice
>realize the only boss that i struggled against enough to form a cognizant strategy beyond "jump attack/air parry and hope you win" is eigong
The rest of the game can be brute forced pretty easily, yeah.
If it looks like an attack is impossible to Unbound Counter, it's usually because it's supposed to be dodged. See also Lady Ethereal's spirit bomb and some of Eigong's combos.
Also the Fengs have a huge ass arena, you can often just run away to handle the mechanics separately.
Just look the other way, parry the knives and immediately start charging your parry right after. That move is free damage.
Yeah I can reliably do that now
Now It's the snakes that kick my ass
For the snakes I personally wound up just chilling and waiting until they were gone.
And that's a wrap
Sex with every cat except Fuxi
Don't get pushed into snakes, dodge instead of parrying if you're too close. You can also use knockback reduction jade.
Sweeping horizontal snake attack is kind of bullshit, you have to focus on it to time a dash just right.
Seeker arrows in P2 while the boss is relatively stationary near the center of the screen.
>made by chinese
why should I trust you?
Because CCP fricking hates these particular devs.
yeah, don't go back to playing bodytype western slop while i enjoy references to mythology and the way philosophy coalesces with the story
beat the game. I am proud to say I did NOT use unbound parry ONCE for ANY boss fights. It took me long enough to learn parry timings let alone this reverse timed parry shit. I only used it during mandatory puzzle sections.
I'm based
You can also beat the game without using parry, so there's that.
I was struggling with the final boss a lot until i learned chargeparry timings on her. How long did it take you?
Like 4 or 5 hours? I was just being moronic and not taking openings, once I started slapping talismans more it became easier
You are a real human bean.
I really really really really really really really really really really really really hate screen-filling attacks.
Look at my cat!
I want to drink your cat
cats are liquid
Do solarians really?
I want to Heng her from a lamppost
I am aghengst that
Yi better not
ah-non, that's not very nice of you
Only hard fights were eigong, lady ethereal, feng twins. In that order. Turns out having 3 fricking phases is gonna add to your difficulty who'd have thought
Goumang took me a while but not that bad. The rest was fairly whatever
only hard fight was eigong*
Lady is one of the easiest bosses. She's the Mantis lords of the game. Super fun, peak aesthetic, but simple.
>simple
I was a moron and didn't realize you could bounce on the orbs. Trying to weave and dodge them made that fight substantially harder.
anon... these are the same orbs you used to complete platforming sections
I know, but I had a smooth brain moment.
What kind of secret bosses would you love to add?
>Flashback Eigong fight
>Non old Lear fight
>Adult Shaunshuan fight
Lear definitely could make for a neat optional super boss.
Punished Kuafu after you take his bottle. It's the form which his statue is based on.
>re-enactment of Ji fighting Lear as Ji's small form
Ji could actually make a good dlc protag
>lives forever, so you can put him into any situation whereever
>small main hitbox so level design would stay mostly the same
>wealth of ideas for mechanics with teleportation and transformation
>story potential because of precognition
Precognition as an ability would be cool
DLC that lets us save Heng when?
Why eigong wasn't infected? Her corpse doesn't produce a flower.
>kill Ji
>get black screen instead of main menu
Suits me right for being a filthy pirate I guess
I'll see if I can salvage my save file but it might be owari da
From what I've read from patch notes, the black screen issue seems to stem from some graphics setting related thing. You'd need to modify the graphics settings a bit to make the black screen issue go away.
.
>yfw the only reason why the earth has cats is because uncle chubby attempted to cure himself when he got to earth and released members of his species without the virus gene in the wilds
You know, the two in lab do go missing in the end. Maybe they managed to sneak aboard the away ship.
Oh, I thought those were just recordings
Neat!
>2cats
LMAO
god damn how deep does dorf background lore generator go
Eigong fricking down. Two phases only. I'm not going back for more punishment.
But you will feel great catharsis.
>two phases
Species traitor detected
>Last Man Standing
Best track in the entire game
>$29.99
whats the issue?
30 dollars for an indie game made by two thai ladyboys
>thai
They're taiwanese. There seemed to be at least 5 or 6 core developers.
I think you're confusing this game with:
>game made by two thai ladyboys
can anyone debunk this?
Taiwan isn't Thailand.
so what? the game being developed in thaiwan says nothing about the ethnicity of the developers? do you have low iq?
Can you debunk your own homosexuality?
oh no, that's almost a dollar per hour of gameplay!
Oh nice, even the big red circle attack hits you outside of its visuals
What the frick, man
Time to learn how to dodge everything, or learn the parry timings.
You can do it, anon.
Why is he so gay?
He isnt. You are.
Old enough to be your great-great-great-grandfather
yuck
why didnt you guys say this was in ugly 3d
It's like the only area in the game like that.
There is a door on the top left on the map of the reasearch center. How can you open it?
Finish the merchant's quest and it'll eventually open up after the point of no return.
Apparently he'll ask you for two items, not just one.
You mean Chiyou? I was wondering about that because I'm at that point of no return and his quest feels incomplete.
Yeah, I had the same issue. I think I bugged my game by giving him the second item for his first request, because I can't seem to trigger his second request.
You might need to reload the pavillion or just regular talk to him a few times, that did it for me at least.
Is there also more to Shanhai 9000? I gave him every map chip and nothing happens.
go to the bottom left of the lab during the end sequence
>see successful parry symbol
>still die
HOLY FRICK WHY IS THIS FRICKING GAME SO BADLY DESIGNED
Was it a multi-hit attack, perhaps?
You can't die if you do imperfect parries, they just cause internal damage that heals over time.
>finish game
>immediately look up let's plays
>first one I find the dude doesn't even read lore pickups and skips all dialogue
Willing to bet at some point he'll complain he doesn't know what's going on.
Anon, don't hurt yourself like this.
If you've ever watched a streamer/youtuber play Outer Wilds you'd know there's nothing but suffering there.
Who's the target audience for games about cute animal people in disturbing dark settings?
Everyone.
Edgy teens
gutter oil connoisseurs
Made of Abyss fans. MiA could also make a good metroidvania game.
Fritz the Cat and the like have been doing it for decades, so there's that
Whats the story?
Mortals attempt to defy the will of the heavens and get struck down.
The heavens didn't make local hag frick everything up.
You'll pick it up as you go.
Cat with accidental immortality gets wronged and goes on a quest for revenge.
Indomitable human spirit meets profound mental moronation
On one side, the bridge is closed
On the other I have no idea what to do with the 3 statues
Help!
Use the yellow portals. One of them will lead you to where you need to go.
There's only that portal hidden in the chasm that leads me to the top but then I don't know how to get to that platform with the rolled up rope
I might be mistaken, but you aren't forgetting to use your nymph, right?
First thing I tried
Ooooh, I know what you're missing.
You'll need to go back an area and explore there.
AAAIIIIIIIIIEEEEEE
I was the moron all along
Go out the right exit and work your way up in that area instead.
If the bosses were better designed and the combat was a little better this game would easily have been GOTY.
get good little b***h ass homosexual
I am not 15 anymore, anon.
In the past I could easily spend an entire weekend on this.
Unfortunately I now have responsibilities that come with being an adult.
Man, I wish immortality was a thing already so I wouldn't have to worry about missing out on things and could just take my time with everything.
>Second stage Eigong doesn't even telegraph her attacks, they just appear randomly.
They don't, there is a tell for everything she does. Stop panicking and take some time to just watch her attacks.
What the frick do you mean "they don't"?
She literally stands still and her red attack appears in front of me.
>What the actual frick is this dog shit
What's the issue with it? It's a pretty clear tell.
>lose exp if you die
no thanks lol
im going to give it a negative review too
Is there an achievement for buying all the weapons from chubby?
No. The different arrows are all worth upgrading for different situations but the money talisman is the only one you need and buy it early.
Play on journalist mode already, you stupid frick
I'm stuck at lady Ethereal and I don't want to continue
Which phase?
3rd
P3 Lady is no longer disguised as one of her clones so you'll always know if it's her or not. Landing a talisman will always make her freeze and despawn all clones temporarily. For her genki dama just parry to both sides then dash. Catch her in the air for a big damage window.
>For her genki dama just parry to both sides then dash
To add to this, parry in the air with tai chi kick, it's easier since you don't have to worry about turning to face each one and you will already be in the air for the dash dodge.
Yeah I know what to do, the problem is doing it and not fricking up the weird parry timings
Switch port when?
3 hours
>people saying they beating the game 17 hours in
>im 15 hours in and only just killed lady ethereal
how the frick are you beating it in 17 hours? i'm barely struggling on the bosses
I have like 41 hours on it but I also always leave my game open.
My Story Mode file is at 13hrs and my regular one I did after is at 16. Granted I knew where basically everything was the second time around but 17 seems reasonable if you're not constantly backtracking.
I wanna frick her.
>when Ji does his hexagrams you can just always parry the one that gives you free health
I am so fricking dumb. I was just hitting them randomly.
You still need somewhat good timing to always land it
Is there another fight at least half as good as lady ethereal or the transmutation dude?
Those two and Ji are the holy trio of good rhythmic fights. Eigong is challenging but I didn't enjoy it. Yanlao is honestly underrated.
game would be a 10/10 if it had more fights like that
Maybe DLC or such could add some optional bosses. Kind of like Hollow Knight's dream versions of bosses.
Yanlao is good but I found it too tiresome
Depends on your preference, I suppose. Final boss was the pinnacle of the game for me.
One interesting but easily missable detail is that she wears her amulet on her forehead after becoming a Dusk Guardian. I wonder if they are going to elaborate on her story.
woops, meant to quote
Eigong is fine, it's just that fighting a fricking manlet like that feels out of place
