Schreier's a homosexual but he's also the closest thing the industry has to an actual journalist, so Bloomberg reporting this makes this more concrete than every dipshit with a twitter account saying "dude trust my dad is Uncle Nintendo"
>every dipshit with a twitter account saying "dude trust my dad is Uncle Nintendo"
twitter accounts and game journos arguing about how powerful the switch 2 will be is hilarious when it's been known how powerful it'll be for months-a year thanks to nvidia's leak
>the guy who thinks its racist if a bunch of friends who happen to be white decide to make a game >the guy who thinks liking big breasts makes you a pedo >the guy who ran a smear campaign on a voice actress just because she didn't reply to somebody asking her to say trans rights
Actually you are right, he is the closest to modern day journalism
He's the most journalist journalist that ever journalled, that's why he works at Bloomberg despite making a living talking about children's toys. You will find these hyper journalists at other max journalist institutions like the guardian
Don't forget that he knew about the ActiBlizzard sexual harassment shit for years without bringing it to light until much later.

When/who was this? I don't remember this one.

I don't.
I'm not some fricking nerd who takes his gaming device on a hike and then sits five hours in the sun playing Mario Kart.

Frick, for the first time ever I might have to deal with scalpers on a Nintendo console release
depends on when it's coming out and how much of a stockpile nintendo can build up. If they start manufacturing now, they can have enough so that there won't be any shortages at launch
Every single one of you tards would be all over Mario if it was available on you PC or basedstation.
PC gays scrambling to emulate every major nintendo release proves this.
You hate us because you ain't us,
90% of the "PCgays" poortards won't be able to emulate it if it ends up pushing raytracing (which it very likely could). These morons still use GTX1080
Mario is one of those games I think you either have to have grown up playing in order to enjoy as an adult. I can't imagine an adult man with a functioning brain playing bing bing wahoo without the nostalgia factor.
You have it backwards, only kids give a shit about this kind of thing. "Mature games for mature gamers such as myself" is an ancient meme for a reason.
If you're some 35 year old dude it's fine if you play it in your own home, everyone has their guilty pleasures, but if you do it while you're out and about people are just going to think you're a pathetic moron. They're not going to tell you that to your face, but they will think it. Hell, if you're not good looking they're going to judge you playing a switch no matter what. You can shrug your shoulders and say whatever, not my problem, I'm above that, I don't care what they think, but it's no better than the smashgays who reek up the joint.
>people are just going to think you're a pathetic moron
The only people who care about being perceived as pathetic are pathetic morons. I'm sorry but even without a switch with bing bing wahoo in hand they still think that about you.
>8 inch LED screen
Nintendo pretty much hit it out of the park with the switch, no idea how they're gonna top it but I highly doubt they're going to go with n 8 inch LCD screen of all things.
Because the Deck 2 will be even stronger, so it doesn't matter if that has LCD. Switch 2 still be underpowered, and won't even have at least the benefit of OLED.

>2 hour battery life
That's what you're going to get out of the switch 2. If people think it's more powerful than the deck and is using a battery hungry lcd, you're going to get a Rog Ally tier 1 hour battery life.
Because they’re going to release a Switch 2 Pro bundled with the new Zelda in 2027 to make some extra cash when the new console is halfway done with its life cycle.
Do you guys think Nintendo learned how to make a crack proof console? V1 had the glaring rail exploit and V2 could still be mod-chipped and of course, two emulators that actually work semi-well.
funny how all it took was 1 pokemon leak for them to go absolutely fricking mental with the switch >rigs your console to brick if you downgrade >autoban you for going online with cfw even if you're not cheating >games no longer come preloaded with the console >no browser app
I've owned every Nintendo console and handheld. This isn't unusual. My N64 joystick got lazy after the games forced me to spin it, my 3DS joypad fell off after Smash 4 and Kid Icarus forced me to smash it hard to smash/dodge and my joycon started drifting after a few years. They've always been cheap on this one thing and I've no idea why.
>But Nintendo wouldn't do that!!!
The 3DS was made to capitalize on Avatar.
The Wii U was made to capitalize on tablets and iPads.
Ditto with the Switch.
Phones are the biggest market both in Japan and worldwide.
Yes, they would do it.

Remember that Japan never had a covid explosion, they used alternatives to the vaccine for longer... so they kept trying to contain every minor happening because it´s a tiny island
It won't release this year, be underwhelming when it finally dribbles out, and Nintendo will continue its cyclic slide into irrelevance. The successor to the Switch 2 or Super Switch or whatever will be a massive hit
Honestly the Switch 2 is a wildcard. It could do very well following the Switch’s success or flop like the Wii U did after the Wii.
It all depends on how they market it. Wii Us reveal and subsequent marketing made it look like it was just an add on for the Wii (which was already a dead console by 2011/2012). As long as they don’t make that mistake again and ALSO give it a proper name that suggests it’s a NEW console they should be good. Probably not Switch level numbers since they would be hard to replicate but maybe in 3DS/GBA territory
It may get constantly compared to Steam Deck and will be looked down as a weaker machine.
If Switch 2 has physical games and are reverse compatible with Switch, it would do moderately well. If it goes all digital, then it would be judged under the standards of an all digital console and will be stomped by Steam Deck in that regard even in Japan.
Nintendos are always the "weaker machine."
It's library is what will determine success.
Like you said, backwards compatibility is a must.
But a decent launch title followed by some quality titles soon after is what matters.
[...]
Yeah, Nintendo has a weird cycle of a successful console followed by a failure followed by a success. Been that way since the N64
After the wiiu blunder they're definitely scared shitless of a repeat of that.
Imagine having a console gen so bad that its entire lifespan (if you can even call it that with a straight face) is essentially just a big five year blank space of wasted time and money.
The ps3 was a complete meme when it came out, but thanks to aggressive marketing, price reductions and clinging to third party support for dear life it managed to make a comeback and even defeat the 360 in sales by the end of that console gen.
The wiiu gets compared to the virtual boy.
I don't know about the switch2's successor, but I can almost guarantee that nintendo is gonna try like hell to avoid another wiiu situation.

There is a reason they went the hybrid route instead of just shitting out a more powerful Wii.

QUICK, START SPAMMING MORE BULLSHIT RUMORS OF A NON-EXISTENT CONSOLE AGAIN FOR THE 4TH YEAR IN A ROW
Shit scalpers probably wouldn't give me the chance to get one, but with how innovative Nintendo wants to be every console I don't think I'd want to buy it day one anyway, definitely gonna givit it a month or so, I just hope they're generous enough to have Nintendo account games carry over, that's all I'd personally want and a system that targets 30fps
Really motherfrickers? Nobody is going to mention this is just "yet another analyst thinks a thing?" These analysts are wrong all the time. They're probably right this time, but only because they have to be right eventually. They don't know shit. Literal nothingburger.
fairly certain it's the exact same gay so I put no stock in this, he's consistently wrong on nintendo and I'd more surprised if it came this year than if it came out some time next year
LCD requires a backlight so you inevitably have to deal with slight light bleeding, especially in light/dark contrasted scenes. This also means darker pixel values will generally look muddy-er, because 8-bit color depth uses a majority of the color depth on bright colors
OLED/LED screens don't require backlights, so black pixels can actually turn 100% off and be completely dark. This means high contrast scenes pop out way more, there's no more light bleed, and darker colors are way more vibrant/sharp
difference is subtle but once you go OLED you just don't go back
>OLED/LED screens don't require backlights, so black pixels can actually turn 100% off and be completely dark. This means high contrast scenes pop out way more, there's no more light bleed, and darker colors are way more vibrant/sharp
This is misleading. LED is just LCD with many small LED backlights. It’s not as good as OLED where each pixel is its own light source allowing for much better contrast and true blacks.
LCD looks like shit and OLED doesn't, simple as. OLED also has better response times. The only drawback to OLED is burn-in but it's not an issue for smaller screens which is why it's used for phones all the time.
>The only drawback to OLED is burn-in
Uh no, the main drawback to OLED is price. They would have to give up something else to have an OLED screen, like less RAM or using a 720p screen or less storage space. All more important than OLED.
>8 inch screen >joycon like controllers as well since it will likely be backwards compatible
Won’t this thing be fricking massive? The Switch itself is barely portable and that’s after u remove the joycons. I just want true portables to come back and it seems like Vita was the last one
Why would I need 1080p though? The vast majority of people can't see a percievable difference in detail between 720p and 1080p when on a 7 inch acreen that's 18" to 24" inches away from one's face.
I don't agree with that personally. I have a 1080p tablet and I definitely see the difference between it and the 720p switch. I do agree going above 1080p is useless though.
I myself would like a 1080p screen, I just meant that I don't see Nintendo supporting that mainly due to it being a higher cost. I could see something ala the Oled, a refreshed console with a 1080p oled screen.
>I myself would like a 1080p screen, I just meant that I don't see Nintendo supporting that mainly due to it being a higher cost. I could see something ala the Oled, a refreshed console with a 1080p oled screen.
A 1080p LCD screen at this point is dirt cheap, probably cheaper than the 720p screen the base switch had on launch.
The problem for a 1080p screen for this type of device is for pixel perfect Switch game support they need to show a 1280x720 image, and you can't do that cleanly with a 1080p screen.
Plus 1080p is more pixels they need to drive for each frame.
Now 1440p would be more believable, but only because they could run game UI at full res for extra sharpness, and run Switch games at 1/4 resolution.

Ah but you are ignoring a factor there. If the 720p versions look worse, it helps them sell upgrade patches for $10-15.
People will always have a reason to proclaim Nintendo doomed. The switch was doomed because it was too big for a portable, now the switch 2 will be doomed because it's not OLED which literally no one outside of Ganker gives a shit about. In reality everything will come down to the games and nothing else.
Here's a leak for ya.
It's not going to be called the Switch 2.
It will be called the "Nintendo Swap" and will have a gimmick that involves swappable parts for customizing the handheld experience as an expansion on the removable Joycons concept of the Switch.
Nintendo seems fricked, don't they >release in the near term, have to navigate the absolute frickheap that is the modern economy >hold off until conditions improve, watch the switch get more and more irelevant
I'm genuinely curious to see big N's response
60% of phones still use LCD screens. This isn't even outdated tech, it's the norm. OLED would mean they're pushing into the high end market which they're not gonna do.
>8 inch lcd >presumably more powerful than the previous
Thing’s gonna be massive and lose out on half the market. Plus everyone would wait for the oled
I bought a Switch to play Odyssey and was disappointed. The only good parts were the parts where you turn 2D and walk inside the walls. Those are the only parts that didn't feel like they were copy pasted filler.
>I dunno, 1080p on a handheld sounds a bit ambitious for nintendo. Would 960p be significantly cheaper?
1080p is probably cheaper because it's more mass produced. The only reason to go for 900p is if they think they cant run most games at 1080p in handheld because obviously you'd rather run the games at the screen's resolution.
On the positive side it should have a lot of RAM. The Ipad that released the same time as the switch had 2gb while the switch itself had 4. Now the lowest Ipad is 8gb and the average is 12. I'm not expecting them to do some moronic shit like 24gb but 12gb should be the absolute minimum and 16 wont be shocking.
From what we've seen of the Nvidia hack it appears to be like half a PS5 after factoring in DLSS, which is close enough to port anything without much difficulty. Anything on the series S can be dragged and dropped onto the switch 2.
Disappointment if it's not miniLED with at least a few hundred zones (it won't be). I'd still rather have LCD over OLED because it's guaranteed to last longer.
In any case, I won't get it because Zelda is Ubislop now.
>Disappointment if it's not miniLED with at least a few hundred zones
Why would you even expect this in a Nintendo handheld in the first place? It needs to hit a certain price point (<$400) and miniLED would not help it achieve that in any way
miniLED doesn't actually cost very much more due to LEDs costing less than a cent each. The problem is mostly thickness because it's not as thin as sidelit. And of course Nintendo wants people to double or triple dip and that makes OLED inevitable on the refresh. For whatever reason, Nintendo fans are the absolute worst when it comes to buying multiples of the exact same console. My brother and I bought a single switch years ago right as it could be preordered, and it was more than enough.
I just can't imagine needing another handheld after the Deck OLED. I certainly won't ever be buying indies or multi-plats on any other system than PC/Steam from now on, it just doesn't make sense to. With every Nintendo system from the last 15 years, I've just bought it for cheap towards the end of its life cycle and then binged all the big exclusives by buying pre-owned/marked down copies. But now Nintendo games seem to retain their value permanently, which really puts me off buying another system.
Pretty much this. Deck is all I'll buy from here on out unless some other UMPC is even better. There's no fricking I'm going back to consoles after owning one of these things, it mogs consoles so hard it's not even funny.
>The 3ds was underpowered and still had a great fricking library
Ahh yes, all the best Pokemon games...
The DS has a great library, the 3DS library fricking sucks.

under powered compared to what? What exactly is nintendo missing out on by not going with a 20 terashart brick next to your tv?
Very tired of these gay little article. The source is your ass I assume? My dad works for Nintendo. There’s no switch 2 coming until 2025. It’s not coming with an 8 inch screen. It’s coming with an 8 inch rubber wiener right up your ass. Trust me bro
>still didn't realize that the switch pro was real but the covid chip shortage made them repurpose the new dock and oled screens into the oled model
monkey brain. even the terrible performance for some games like the pokemon ones make more sense if it was designed for the pro and then scaled back after they found out it wouldn't be releasing due to covid.
>terrible performance for some games like the pokemon ones
No, that's just Game Freak's incompetence. It looks and runs worse than BotW.
They wouldn't make the game for a small subset of the userbase.
I would prefer if it didn't have a screen at all. I don't want to waste money on shit I will never use. They should make a version that is docked only with no screen.
FRICK NO I WILL NEVER SUPPOR CONSOLES IN STICK FORM LITERALLY FRICKIGN have a nice day YOU PIECE OF FRICKING SHIT
DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE
Something they should have done for the switch is a revamped dock with extra processing power and expanded memory space, allowing the switch to turn into a proper home console.
>2006 looks better than 2011 >2007 and 2011 look nearly identical
Granted, Intelligent Systems hasn't really tried to push graphics on FE but it's a little disingenuous to compare the absolute best of the 360 and ps3 to a mid-budget strategy rpg
Nintendo is israeli as frick but I think they're smart enough to know that's financial suicide. Everyone would be pissed and they already blew their load with totk so no Zelda to carry sales this time.
It probably will
I'm going to be honest, I wager the reason it's taking so long to announce is that they made backwards compatibility a MUST for NVN2 so Nvidia had to go in and ensure that the binaries were backwards compatible, which is probably harder with the Switch since it's not like they were planning for it to be back compat when they wrote the first API
The only Nintendo handheld that wasn't backwards compatible was the Switch itself. But there was a drastic change in SoC microarchitecture and the whole not-dual-screen thing coming from 3DS
There's more precedent for a handheld to have backwards compatibility than not. And this time around, it's only going from ARM+Nvidia to newer ARM+Nvidia so it shouldn't be a chip microarchitecture limitation
I would be more surprised if there wasn't BC
>and the whole not-dual-screen thing coming from 3DS
The could've made it backwards compatible with the 3DS which also used ARM. Both screens could've fit on the Swich's touchscreen, it's how it works for all DS emulation. They're not going to give anyone backwards compatibility if they think they can get away with not having it and Nintendo has become scummier this gen than they've ever been before. Problem is the normalgays Nintendo focuses on couldn't care less about backwards compatibility. They'll go out and buy the game one and done and then they'll buy the port or half-assed remaster 5 years down the line again.
lmao this is nintendo were talking about here, we'll be lucky if it's even backwards compatible with the switch
them shutting down online that only uses p2p is a great example of how anti-consumer they are, they're not just going to let you transfer those games you bought to relevant hardware, they want you to rebuy them every 5-10 years
Hopefully it's a Wii situation and the Switch 2 is basically an overclocked Switch. No idea if that's even possible with whatever chip the Switch uses.
Holy shit you fricking spergs I'm so tired with le specs and gimmicks discussion whenever a console it's a bout to release

>Classic Zelda is dead in the water.
One less console I'm going to buy.
It's still baffling to me they just don't get Grezzo or Namco or Capcom or anyone to make a normal Zelda again
2D and 3D Mario co-exist and while Zelda's always been big it's now absolutely fricking massive thanks to BotW so I can't imagine there's not a market for more Zelda stuff

>according to a literal who
He correctly reported the type of the screen, screen size, screwn manufacturer, price increase and release date of Switch OLED months before announcement
The Switch Pro really tarnished his name. It must be frustrating because from what I've gathered, those reports were true it just never came to fruition due to various factors.
To tell you the truth, I haven't craved better graphics since about 2017. Everything substantially better costs an exorbitant amount of money, and I have a 3080. At this point, I'm more concerned about a stable 60 Hz minimum in everything and 120 Hz in fast games or shooters. Native 4k is hard enough to reach on PC, and not possible on any console with the shiniest graphics. I mean it's not even possible in most games because nobody cares to optimize anymore.
>according to a literal who
He correctly reported the type of the screen, screen size, screwn manufacturer, price increase and release date of Switch OLED months before announcement
>when all their games looks/plays like they came out in 2005?
Genuine question: Can you name a non-indie game made in the last 15 years that wouldn't have worked more or less the same on a PS3 if you downgraded the visuals?
Most gamedevs haven't really innovated worth shit for the hardware they're working on. At least with Nintendo consoles every once in a while they end up hitting on a really good gimmick because of how hard they focus on hardware features at the start of a console's lifespan (i.e. Splatoon 1 making everyone realize that Gyro Aim is objectively superior to Stick Aim + Aim Assist)
If you want a legitimate answer, it’s because they don’t. 90% of the games that come out from Nintendo now would make the Gamecube explode. Even if it’s not much relative to the hardware of their competitors, the upgrades they make benefit the games the make. Also newer hardware gives 3rd party devs more wiggle room with ports
I have a feeling they got another Wii U on their hands here. It sounds underwhelming as hell already, and the niche of a powerful handheld was filled by Valve not too long ago. The competition is tough and I doubt they can catch lighting in a bottle again.
The problem is the masses don't care about quality, control or consumer friendliness, all they care about is if they see it walmart, ads on their twitter feeds and if their normalgay friends are buying it. It doesn't have to be good to succeed, the average soccer mom isn't going to be signing up for steam to get access to a steam deck to buy for her 30 year old manchild living in her basement, she's going to buy him a switch she saw in target.
Or maybe people don't want to fumble around with a clunky PC stuffed inside a lunchbox?
Home consoles are still popular despite PCs existing and being available at Targets.
>Or maybe people don't want to fumble around with a clunky PC stuffed inside a lunchbox?
That's the thing, you are the exact type of person I'm talking about. The deck is extremely convenient. You never leave the steam frontend and it's just a souped up console. For anyone who wants to go into desktop mode, they've got even more power and control, but it's by no means a requirement.
>The deck is extremely convenient
It will never be convenient for the casual gamer until 100% of games work without issues
Tell someone they need to swap to Proton-GE and you've lost them forever
They can stay well within steam's verified games, which focuses on the main big games casuals would tend to play, and still get a far better experience. 100% of games on steam is already 95% more games than consoles even have available to play. I gifted a deck to a casual gamer and they use it every day and have thus far had no problems.
Protonge is not mandatory and is only really useful for certain older games with old video codecs and is extremely easy to get besides. You could make a video tutorial doing it in 20 seconds in a few clicks.

Last number I saw back in october there's over 12,000 games verified, very likely above 16,000 at this point, which alone is quadruple the entire switch's library.

The problem is "verified" doesn't mean flawless
It's like emulators that mark something as playable but with issues
The point being the Deck is not as convenient as Deckers claim it to be
It's only "convenient" for someone who is already in the PC ecosystem and has done some troubleshooting before

Verified is pretty flawless, it's not comparable to emulator issues at all. Verification will note even minor things like using the keyboard, which will pop up as needed automatically. The worst a casual will ever really have to deal with if they stick to verified games is looking at the game's settings to change the resolution if they want.
People act like normalgays are the most negative IQ tech illiterate motherfrickers, and by and large they are, but thing is that goes both ways. For the sake of this argument you would probably care a lot about the fps in a game dipping into the 20's. Normalgays don't even know what fps means. They don't care as long as the game just works. It's why they'll all rush out to buy pokemon despite it looking and running like absolute ass and even crashing on occasion.
The only thing I really care about with a Switch 2 is backwards compatibility. It would be a pain in the ass to dig out my original Switch whenever I want to play something like Final Bar Line or Puyo Puyo Tetris 2.
hello nintendo. if your new shitmachine does not have a new iteration of smash your shitmachine will not sell. you will not be getting my money you cucks.
When the steam deck was launched, nobody knew valve would do an OLED version. That was crystal ball shit.
Now we've seen nintendo dive into OLED with the switch, there's no reason to buy the next one knowing oled would come again. >inb4 metroid prime 4
Ps5 is the only one that tried a fancy shape.
Series S/X are just rectangles with easy cleaning.
Switch formfactor is locked in and the future of Nintendo consoles for 2 decades, and they'll never go back from it because of the advent of cellphones requiring them to breed together a hybrid home/mobile console experience.
Which they did with the Wii U kind of, and perfected with the switch. Of course they'll have competition like the Steam Deck in the handheld market, but they'll be the only ones that really dominate since a steamdeck is an accessory for PC gamers, and a Nintendo console isn't that.
>and the future of Nintendo consoles for 2 decades
We'll see about that.

Can't imagine it'll change much, people will always buy Nintendo for their IPs, the mobile experience is part of it's selling point, and is what makes the switch on the verge of being the most sold console of all time.

People can never imagine what Nintendo will do next. Whether they do something smart or dumb.

you seem to not realize how locked in the blend of console/mobile is.
Since the gameboy the mobile gaming identity has been a defining feature of Nintendo.
The marriage between the two is basically permanent as well.
Can't get away with having a Wii, and a DS anymore. Consumers won't buy the handheld when their phones do most that shit, and Nintendo never needed powerful graphics on the console side, so it was a match made in heaven that saved their company.
I again can't really see how they can pivot away from that in this current technological landscape. It'd take some major advancements in ARG and VR spaces to even consider a gimmick they'd move onto.

You seem to not realize that EVERY SINGLE TIME someone comes out like you are doing right now, saying "Nintendo is going to do X because anything else wouldn't make sense" they end up having to eat their words.

That hasn't been the case in ages though anon, plenty of people predicted the switch building off the Wii U.
This isn't 2008 in gaming anymore.

The same people that predicted the Switch OLED would be a new system because staying with the old chipset was ludicrous?
"people" have no fricking clue what Nintendo is going to do, but they always pretend to know. And they always end up looking silly.
Tendie is too big too fail, they've a dozen IPs that will sell millions based on name alone. Even if it has no games people will switch in hopes of getting something better because the Switch is too dated.
>Tendie is too big too fail
The Switch 2 will almost certainly be some level of a success, but there's every chance it could end up seeing a noticeable drop from the Switch. The 3DS ended up selling about half of what the DS did, after all; that taught us that the launch is going to be a huge factor in early momentum by means of its pricing and available software (and no, BC won't save a shit launch lineup).
It's almost to be expected switch 2 gets a drop off.
Switch's numbers are just behind the DS launch, and the 13 year lifespan of the Platstation 2 in the biggest introduction to gaming worldwide.
Switch 2 will mostly be seen as a hardware upgrade to switch 1, it really depends on backwards compatibility, which I think most switch 2 titles will probably have with the original switch.
Take a look at PS5, it's numbers are still only at 40% the adoption rate of the PS4, physical consoles have lost a bit of their identity, and with 5-10 year development cycles on AAA releases, (BOTW 2 was six years from BOTW launch), I think in general most of the console space have realized that competition for a consumers attention in competing entertainment markets and the increasing cost of hardware is currently making them rethink consoles life-cycles, etc.
why do poorgays think everything trickles down from luxury in tech in the span of like 6 months?
not everything can be done in a snap of the fingers.
You getting oled's for example. Can't be done in a snap of a finger for no cost increase.
Long gone are the years of free gains in hardware and performance.
>WAHHH WHY CANT THERE BE THIS
because until the next tech upgrade, that makes the luxury just not so luxurious, all the prices can go down.
Until then the price of luxury fuels the next generation of innovation.
If they kept the Switch around another year-year and a half it would, but seems unlikely. And the Switch 2 sure as hell isn’t going to. I think it’ll do decently but less than the Switch for sure
>Even if it technically doesn't, it's still likely to see better performance results and better battery life.
which mostly doesn't matter, depending on how FPS is locked on the switch console itself, vs emulation on the Steam Deck,
and Steam Deck players can still play every switch game on the steam deck, and reverse isn't true for switch users.
Deck players are not going to be able to emulate the next Nintendo system day one. Or at lest, it's fairly unlikely to happen that way.

>day one
that really isn't a big deal to them, and they'll enjoy day 1 emulations when it's optimized, which it will be because Nintendo has never been difficult to emulate.
Having access to their steam accounts game library is always going to be the selling point over a switch

Forget that. Scalpers will kill it anyways if Nintendo learned nothing from the PS5 and xbox
Frick, for the first time ever I might have to deal with scalpers on a Nintendo console release
depends on when it's coming out and how much of a stockpile nintendo can build up. If they start manufacturing now, they can have enough so that there won't be any shortages at launch
Good luck coping with a company that has historically produced low launch units

Every single one of you tards would be all over Mario if it was available on you PC or basedstation.

*bing bing wahoo stops*
Didn't happen with sonic will not happen with mario.
He's just not the target audience of PC gaming in the west.
90% of the "PCgays" poortards won't be able to emulate it if it ends up pushing raytracing (which it very likely could). These morons still use GTX1080
theres no fricking way nintendo will push for raytracing come on now
>underaged nintendo virgin has no idea how technology works and thinks mobile gpu's can output raytracing
No mobile SoC has had dedicated ray tracing hardware prior. T239 in the Switch 2 will have 12 of Nvidia's RT cores.
>underaged Snoy virgin has no idea how technology works and thinks pnly his NoGamesStation can output raytracing when even mobile phones can
Mario is one of those games I think you either have to have grown up playing in order to enjoy as an adult. I can't imagine an adult man with a functioning brain playing bing bing wahoo without the nostalgia factor.
nah you just reach a certain age and no longer need to be the edgiest guy in the room
you start to be able to enjoy other things than gore and sex

Are you morons forgetting what the Switch and Deck launched with? Be prepared for a Switch 2 OLED so they can get morons who will double dip
>Are you morons forgetting what the Switch and Deck launched with?
I didn't buy any of those shits till the oled version came out
it's 2024, stop with this lcd nonsense
Nintendo already double dipping on there switch 2 going to sell oled to people in 2 years
At least the Deck was powerful to make up for it.
Deck is closest in power to the base PS4. The Switch 2 has been rumored to be PS4 level with DLSS. How is this literally not the same
Because the Deck 2 will be even stronger, so it doesn't matter if that has LCD. Switch 2 still be underpowered, and won't even have at least the benefit of OLED.
>still thinking Deck 2 is happening
Lol
Deck 2 is easy, they just need a new cheap AMD SoC with recent hardware, Zen2 was nice but its old.
Two more weeks right moron
deck 2 will release b4 switch 2, this leak is from a literal who and worth shit. switch 2 will release at 2027.
That would be nice.
Valve themselves literally confirmed a Deck 2 already dumbass. If you don't think it's coming after Deck Oled idk what to tell you.

Now this is fair, there are rumors of a deckard but who knows
>Where is the steam controller 2?
I'm waiting as well
>Where is the steambox 2? Where is the index 2?
Both of those are coming.
Yeah with that terrible 2 hour battery life even on games that are 4 years old lmao
that's why nintendo is going back to a screen with the backlight always on because they care so much about battery life.
>2 hour battery life
That's what you're going to get out of the switch 2. If people think it's more powerful than the deck and is using a battery hungry lcd, you're going to get a Rog Ally tier 1 hour battery life.
sorry, not gonna wait 2-4 years for a somewhat better screen that may or may not come.
They're Nintendo they have to keep the price low (both for production, for them, and for the consumer)
All it needs is DLSS. That's it,
8 inches is totally average buddy
The next step is licensing Apple Vision and releasing a goggle console. Nintendo and Apple fans synthesized into one shrieking uberconsumer

People said the same exact thing about TOTK lmao
TOTK was also delayed
>LCD when the Switch OLED and Deck OLED exist
They're in the Wii mindset again I see. Fluke incoming.
Do you guys think Nintendo learned how to make a crack proof console? V1 had the glaring rail exploit and V2 could still be mod-chipped and of course, two emulators that actually work semi-well.
funny how all it took was 1 pokemon leak for them to go absolutely fricking mental with the switch
>rigs your console to brick if you downgrade
>autoban you for going online with cfw even if you're not cheating
>games no longer come preloaded with the console
>no browser app
They also rigged their joycons to drift and break as a last precaution. And it all meant nothing when faced with me and my paperclip.
Can't forget that they left the drift issue in the shitty switch lite release. Bravo Nintendo
I think they're just banking on denovo for next gen
>console denuvo
it's joever
No console is banking on denuvo despite being available on them for years because no developer is.
Denuvo. Its impossible to crack at this point. Even Denuvo Anti DLC and Anti Cheat works well to this day
miniLED when? yes, mini, not microLED
MiniLEDs are still LCDs anon
The switch 2, yeah, more like the switch to pc so I can play it in a better resolution and framerate
It's literally a phone lol.
Nintendo already capitalised on the phone market with mobile games, there’s no need for a whole product.
It's basically guaranteed to be like $399. With an OLED upgrade later
Nintendo is just as wienery as Sony was at the end of PS4, they're gonna frick up this generation so hard
>it's twice the size of my penis
it's over...
Nothing to be ashamed of anon

I'm conflicted. In the end I'm not totally happy with my Switch and its exclusives. I will probably skip this one.

Remember that Japan never had a covid explosion, they used alternatives to the vaccine for longer... so they kept trying to contain every minor happening because it´s a tiny island
Any chance for it do run Switch cartridges? If it does I'll get it. If not I will wait until the OLED one
I’d be shocked if it wasn’t backwards compatible.
You guys get too hung up on their home consoles and forget they have completely dominated the handheld market since the 90s and even scared Sony shitless from ever trying to compete in it ever again.
There is a reason they went the hybrid route instead of just shitting out a more powerful Wii.
It won't release this year, be underwhelming when it finally dribbles out, and Nintendo will continue its cyclic slide into irrelevance. The successor to the Switch 2 or Super Switch or whatever will be a massive hit
Yeah, Nintendo has a weird cycle of a successful console followed by a failure followed by a success. Been that way since the N64
>Been that way since the N64
Neither N64 nor GC were successful
The N64 sold as much as the SNES in America. A solid 2nd place despite being gimped by cartridges.
now imagine if it had used CDs
Then Sony would've produced both console and the media, leaving Nintendo at their mercy as a second party on their own system.
didnt they have some sort of deal with Phillips too? the point is cartridges held back the N64 like nothing else and where an objectively bad idea
All it needs to be called Switch II or Super Switch and consumers immediately understand it a better Switch that they need to get.
>The successor to the Switch 2 or Super Switch or whatever will be a massive hit
Nah, this generation will likely be the last significant one. PC and AI are going to take over in the coming decade.

fairly certain it's the exact same gay so I put no stock in this, he's consistently wrong on nintendo and I'd more surprised if it came this year than if it came out some time next year
In this case, the analyst entire niche is display panel equity research and he would likely gain access to things such as POs and Bill of Ladings.

Can I keep playing their games on Yuzu?
>All the shitposting on the >LED stuff
What's the difference between LCD, LED and OLED screens anyway?
just modern day bit wars. ignore and play what you want
This means high contrast scenes pop out way more, there's no more light bleed, and darker colors are way more vibrant/sharp
difference is subtle but once you go OLED you just don't go back
thanks for the exblanation anon
More like the reason its not an issue for phones is because phones aren't on 24/7.
Your tv and monitor are on 24/7?
My monitor is on almost every waking hour.
>that hairstyle
Hmmm....
on god
A good quality LCD with HDR can be quite comparable to OLED. Increased resolution and pixel density over Switch will help too
My TV looks better the left. You will never guess the model.
>deck has oled and hdr
>switch 2 won't
It's funny that this can now be used in the exact opposite way it was intended for
You know you can get HDR with an LCD, yes?
But will it.
>forced colors
Yeah, OLED is troonshit. Switch 2 confirmed based.
Uhhhh, that doesnt look good for the shitdeck
>8 inch screen
>joycon like controllers as well since it will likely be backwards compatible
Won’t this thing be fricking massive? The Switch itself is barely portable and that’s after u remove the joycons. I just want true portables to come back and it seems like Vita was the last one
>Won’t this thing be fricking massive?
Yes. It's a forgone conclusion at this point.

Gives Nintendo and Valve enough of an excuse to make you pay more.
>8 inches
>LCD
FRICKING WHY?
remember, Ganker is always wrong about everything
except when I post
But then this post is wrong, which actually means everyone is right. Checkmate atheists.
Shut up Reviewtech and just die already!
An 8 inch 1080p LCD screen will look vastly better than the 7 inch 720p OLED screen let alone the 6.2 inch base switch LCD screen.
If the 720p versions look worse, it helps them sell upgrade patches for $10-15.
>he plays on handheld
People will always have a reason to proclaim Nintendo doomed. The switch was doomed because it was too big for a portable, now the switch 2 will be doomed because it's not OLED which literally no one outside of Ganker gives a shit about. In reality everything will come down to the games and nothing else.
Here's a leak for ya.
It's not going to be called the Switch 2.
It will be called the "Nintendo Swap" and will have a gimmick that involves swappable parts for customizing the handheld experience as an expansion on the removable Joycons concept of the Switch.
Going to double dip the new console so hard on God to annoy chinese c**ts that are screaming about palworld.
Hope old Switcharoo controllers work on the next one.
I've never seen an OLED screen in real life (any kind of device).
24" LCD is good enough for gaming. Change my mind.
You have never seen a phone or walked into the electronics section of a store? Every Sams I've been to has OLED TVs right near the entrance...
I haven't gone to a big store in like six years. I don't really leave my house.
No palworld no buy
Weren't they saying this for last two years?
And before that bloomberg predicted switch pro "this year" every year even during covid

I mean, the PS5 is selling well, isn't it?
>2024
>lcd
hahahahah
60% of phones still use LCD screens. This isn't even outdated tech, it's the norm. OLED would mean they're pushing into the high end market which they're not gonna do.
>60% of chink shit still use LCD screens
and they cost 90-120$
imagine buying a nintendo sloppa machine at 400$+tip when it has a fricking lcd
If the processing power justifies the cost then I'm perfectly fine with it.
It will be years old tech like every nintendo product.
>8 inch lcd
>presumably more powerful than the previous
Thing’s gonna be massive and lose out on half the market. Plus everyone would wait for the oled
I bought the OLED in May 2023 for TotK.
I guess I'll wait until 2028/29 for the Switch 2 OLED.
Time flies really fast. There's not gonna be goods games coming out soon other than Prime 4.
There will probably be a 3d mario around launch.
I heard that Mario Odyssey is a boring collectathon game, I've never played it. I also heard that it magically "cures depression".
Only mario game I would find fun playing out of these is the Mario Maker series.
>I heard that Mario Odyssey is a boring collectathon game
yes
>I also heard that it magically "cures depression"
also yes but unironically
I bought a Switch to play Odyssey and was disappointed. The only good parts were the parts where you turn 2D and walk inside the walls. Those are the only parts that didn't feel like they were copy pasted filler.
I dunno, 1080p on a handheld sounds a bit ambitious for nintendo. Would 960p be significantly cheaper?
>I dunno, 1080p on a handheld sounds a bit ambitious for nintendo. Would 960p be significantly cheaper?
1080p is probably cheaper because it's more mass produced. The only reason to go for 900p is if they think they cant run most games at 1080p in handheld because obviously you'd rather run the games at the screen's resolution.
I think they should go back to 240p screens, their fans wouldn't mind it.
>lcd
oh frick off, there better be a premium model with an oled screen for $100 more or something.
NO you will wait 4 years for the OLED model and you will like it
nooooooo i don't want to double dip damn it!
That's why they're setting up a Pro OLED model before the console is even announced.
16GB minimum or they can frick off
>we want the 30 minute battery life audience
implying they won't put a bigger battery in it
My Switch haven't left the dock for 3 years
if no OLED model i will never EVER buy
>another handheld with low end hardware and no third-party
What will they call the SSB Ultimate port for this one?
SSB Ultimate [insert console name]
SSB Ultimate X booster pack, $30 for 3 anime swordsmen and Croc
From what we've seen of the Nvidia hack it appears to be like half a PS5 after factoring in DLSS, which is close enough to port anything without much difficulty. Anything on the series S can be dragged and dropped onto the switch 2.
SSB Ultimate Complete (COMPURITO)
Do you need to pay money for f2p games online on Switch?
I'm thinking of buying it to play 3d gachas, surely they will port them on switch now
No, you don't need online for f2p. Just make sure you wait for the switch 2 they're not gonna bother backporting games to the base switch.
>Just make sure you wait for the switch 2
Yeah, thats my plan since 2021
>No, you don't need online for f2p
Sweet
I miss DS
I miss 3DS
I miss handheld with truly unique experiences and games libraries
Soooo is it not a "Switch 2" are they going to call it something else? Is it going to be a completely brand new design from the Switch?
Nah I'm good.
I'll emulate that for a dollar!
So how long until the next animal crossing game, 2026? 2027?
Disappointment if it's not miniLED with at least a few hundred zones (it won't be). I'd still rather have LCD over OLED because it's guaranteed to last longer.
In any case, I won't get it because Zelda is Ubislop now.
oled only doesn't last if you are a moron i will NEVER buy miniLED just cause of morons like you
>Disappointment if it's not miniLED with at least a few hundred zones
Same. For me will be Deck 2 or any other umpc
>portable again
>another underpowered piece of shit console
whoa...hype...........
>portable because it sells way more
>underpowered because it's portable
whoa...profits......
Yea like those powerful consoles that can play great games like uh........
tlou2
TLOU2 runs on a base PS4 from 2013, I know Nintendo is an expert at making shitty gimped consoles, but come on now.
The 3ds was underpowered and still had a great fricking library
>The 3ds was underpowered and still had a great fricking library
Ahh yes, all the best Pokemon games...
The DS has a great library, the 3DS library fricking sucks.
wrong
>another underpowered piece of shit console
under powered compared to what? What exactly is nintendo missing out on by not going with a 20 terashart brick next to your tv?
keep paying $500 for a fisher price tablet with LCD screen and joycon drift I guess, just don't act like it's a smart idea.
if nintendo is smart they use hall effect sticks on switch 2
haven't they patented a new type of joystick not that long ago?
keep paying $600 dollars for last of us remaster machines I guess, just don't act like we care.
nintendo lost
the shitch lost
PALWORLD WON
COPE AND SEETHE
If the games are good I certainly will
>keep paying $500
wrong console, snoy
moreover, you're paying for the library, not the hardware.
GTFO snoyflake. Not your thread.
nintendo won't miss out on anything, their consumers will.
>nintendo missing out
It's not nintendo missing out, it's the people who buy it.
RELEASE DATE: FRIDAY DECEMBER 6th 2024!!
SATORU IWATA'S 65th BIRTHDAY!!
Will flop harder than the piiu
Very tired of these gay little article. The source is your ass I assume? My dad works for Nintendo. There’s no switch 2 coming until 2025. It’s not coming with an 8 inch screen. It’s coming with an 8 inch rubber wiener right up your ass. Trust me bro
>Bloomberg
the same homosexuals who said the switch pro was coming since 2018?
yeah ok sure bud
>still didn't realize that the switch pro was real but the covid chip shortage made them repurpose the new dock and oled screens into the oled model
monkey brain. even the terrible performance for some games like the pokemon ones make more sense if it was designed for the pro and then scaled back after they found out it wouldn't be releasing due to covid.
Yeah I had the same theory for this.
It is weird that people does not recognize that covid pushed us back a few years.
>terrible performance for some games like the pokemon ones
No, that's just Game Freak's incompetence. It looks and runs worse than BotW.
They wouldn't make the game for a small subset of the userbase.
>rumor: some guy from unknown Japanese company or whatever
I give zero fricks
>no talk of new gimmicks so far
>LCD in 2024 is not a gimmick
>he is so stupid he still prefers LCD
I would prefer if it didn't have a screen at all. I don't want to waste money on shit I will never use. They should make a version that is docked only with no screen.
nintendo firestick
FRICK NO I WILL NEVER SUPPOR CONSOLES IN STICK FORM LITERALLY FRICKIGN have a nice day YOU PIECE OF FRICKING SHIT
DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE
This honestly, they made a handheld only so why not the other way around?
Why? They can sell four handhelds to a single family
>families of 4
anon, it's 2024, not 1994.
Switch3D, let them have another crack at it.
>i want more eyestrain
3d is horse shit. always has been and always will be
the the console separates into 4 parts that can function as handheld devices to share with friends for coop gameplay.
time to preorder the switch 2 and keep it sitting in a box until a cfw comes out
Why can't they just make a console that is on par with current gen opposition. Drop the handheld memes and use current technology.
Something they should have done for the switch is a revamped dock with extra processing power and expanded memory space, allowing the switch to turn into a proper home console.
reality: "we remove the etherneto porto preasu underustando!!!!"
people would b***h when this dock cost the same as the entire console since the only way to do that is external GPU
>8 inch lcd
What
the
frick
HOW COME THE DECK CAN DO OLED BUT SWITCH CAN'T
Because the OLED deck came out 2 years later and even then was a $150 fricking premium over the original price.
Is it finally gonna have modern hardware?
why did you take a screenshot from 2019?
>2006 looks better than 2011
>2007 and 2011 look nearly identical
Granted, Intelligent Systems hasn't really tried to push graphics on FE but it's a little disingenuous to compare the absolute best of the 360 and ps3 to a mid-budget strategy rpg
I'd be surprised if Engage even had half the budget Three Houses had
eric lost
>3DS and Wii U officially dead in March
>Switch successor officially announced soon after
>it's compatible with 3DS and Wii/Wii U software
No they'll put a select number of the games on their Nintendo Switch ™ 2 ™ Nintendo Switch Online ™ Expansion Pass ™ 4 ™
Enjoy!
I'll be honestly surprised if the thing has backwards compatibility with the switch itself
They'll go out and buy the game one and done and then they'll buy the port or half-assed remaster 5 years down the line again.
lmao this is nintendo were talking about here, we'll be lucky if it's even backwards compatible with the switch
them shutting down online that only uses p2p is a great example of how anti-consumer they are, they're not just going to let you transfer those games you bought to relevant hardware, they want you to rebuy them every 5-10 years
Physically please even if they sold separate hardware to do it 3ds/ds/wii/wiiu backward
>new console
>8 inch LCD screen
Is it too much to ask for to just release a proper gaming console without any of this gimmicky horseshit?
emulator when? day 1 yuzu?
Hopefully it's a Wii situation and the Switch 2 is basically an overclocked Switch. No idea if that's even possible with whatever chip the Switch uses.
>screen won't burn in
>won't cost extra for TV-only chads
Good.
Holy shit you fricking spergs I'm so tired with le specs and gimmicks discussion whenever a console it's a bout to release
WHAT ABOUT THE FRICKING GODDAMN GAMES
Why isn't anyone "leaking" or talking about Prime 4, the open world mario or whatever theyre making for the new hardware? it's always speculation about specs so autists can argue it seems
here are the confirmed games anon
mario
mario again
mario yet again
breath of the wild 3
game freak slop again
super smash bros again
>breath of the wild 3
Aonuma outright stated this era of Zelda is over and they did everything they wanted with it
>they did everything they wanted with it
Nah. They still need to do water physics.
they didn't want to
Switch couldn't handle it... Switch 2 will get it done.
That is literally the exact opposite of what he said. All he said was that it won't take place on the same map again or be called BotW3, but it is absolutely going to be BotW3 in all but name. Classic Zelda is dead in the water.
How do you know they don't have someone working on new 2D Zelda?
I don't but given that the only Zelda game that wasn't BotW-related or a remake on Switch was the fricking Crypt of the Necrodancer one my hopes aren't exactly high
A brand new entry? Doubtful, but I can believe a 2D remake
lets not call it a console, its a handheld and it will be weaker than the smartphone in your hand lmao.
Prime 4 is going to be ubislop.
If Mario goes open world it's going to be ubislop too.
There's my speculation.
Unfortunately Nintendo's dev teams are filled with a minimal amount of trannies and women so there's nobody to have a meltdown and leak everything
LCD is better than OLED
have a nice day
>Tendies already changing their tune
>worse looking
>takes up more space
>sucks up more battery life
It is objectively worse in every way.
I'm done with gaming. Even Nintendo now focuses on crap like Splatoon.
Can't find the source of your cute chink. Send source
WOAH
switch release #4!
>another portable "console"
>will run as hot as the sun in docked mode like last time
>will never release a docked-only version to counter the lite version just like last time
Docked only would be the same chipset, so why bother? At best, it would have better cooling
>At best, it would have better cooling
That's precisely why I want it.
Bloodborne for the Switch 2 before PC, watch it happen.
Splatoon on PC before that happens.
we're still using LCDs in the rawring '20s?
My wiener is longer
>deck updates
>adds cool shit and improves performance
>switch updates
>see zero difference just feels like it's wasting your time trying to frick over pirates
Sad
The best update was the one that fricked over 2nd hand Switches that were factory reset after running CFW, where you had to run CFW to fix it.
Is that a fricking ps5 portal you have there? I can almost see the screen and the grips lmao
>LCD
Just fricking WHYYY
It's cheap, downsides be damned, and they can force you to double dip with an OLED version a couple years out. That's all.
It's cheaper for me who is about 70/30 docked vs handheld
And LCDs aren't even bad, just not as good as OLED
Who even needs OLED to play Nintendo games? Like oh wow look at the black detail on this cartoon man's ass
Why dont you like cartoon MEN? Fricking snowflake. You think you re so special?
Because you'll buy one and then also buy the oled version in 3 years
Because tendies love paying for the same console a second time years later.
Particularly the handhelds.
They wear out, and the worn one can be handed down to a child.
Then, the Switch won't outsell the PS2.
so,
the original switch
switch OLED
switch 8in screen
switch lite
>buying the same shit over and over
lol lmao
The race is on, let's see if I can manage to kiss a girl before it comes out
Wish me luck bros!
Here's the specs
>60 Hz
>No mention of VRR
These are the real problems. A higher refresh rate would be welcome in less demanding titles and VRR helps everywhere.
T239 supports VRR
I'm talking about the display. That has to support it as well.
The display has been rumored since last year. There haven't been any information aside from it being an 8" 1080p LCD
why would i buy this with lcd screen if it will get an oled in like 2 years lol
ive barely played the switch library 0 reason to upgrade rn tbh
tbh if you have ps5
a pc with anything better or around a 1060
and reg switch or steam deck do you really need anything better lol
doesn't OLED have shit longevity?
>8 inch screen
>with joycons to top it off
Oh frick off. If I want a "portable" console that won't leave the house I'd rather just use something to remote into my desktop anyway, and have much more power available.
>according to a literal who
Everyone was predicting a Q3 or Q4 release based on the fact that first party announcements for switch have evaporated, don't need to be an analyst to notice that.
>according to a literal who
He correctly reported the type of the screen, screen size, screwn manufacturer, price increase and release date of Switch OLED months before announcement
The Switch Pro really tarnished his name. It must be frustrating because from what I've gathered, those reports were true it just never came to fruition due to various factors.
LCD IN 2024 WITH PS4 GRAPHICS LOL
To tell you the truth, I haven't craved better graphics since about 2017. Everything substantially better costs an exorbitant amount of money, and I have a 3080. At this point, I'm more concerned about a stable 60 Hz minimum in everything and 120 Hz in fast games or shooters. Native 4k is hard enough to reach on PC, and not possible on any console with the shiniest graphics. I mean it's not even possible in most games because nobody cares to optimize anymore.
i personally don't care much about the screen since it'll be pretty much permadocked
i want the dock to produce better results before ill buy
>another tablet
When is the Gamecube 2? I’m tired of waiting
>according to analyst
NOOOOOOOOO NINTENDO BAD
bringing the oled later is the new handheld meta huh
What costs them $5 will cost you another $300+. Enjoy consumerism.
Why would you buy a whole new system with just a different screen?
No idea. Ask all the people who bough 2+ of each Nintendo console over the last 20 years.
Don't know anyone like that
I'd buy a switch 2
>bloomberg
>the guys who said the same thing every year for the past 5 years
lol, lmao even
Can someone explain to me why Nintendo needs a new console when all their games looks/plays like they came out in 2005?
Not a Nintendo hater, just genuinely curious.
>when all their games looks/plays like they came out in 2005?
Genuine question: Can you name a non-indie game made in the last 15 years that wouldn't have worked more or less the same on a PS3 if you downgraded the visuals?
Most gamedevs haven't really innovated worth shit for the hardware they're working on. At least with Nintendo consoles every once in a while they end up hitting on a really good gimmick because of how hard they focus on hardware features at the start of a console's lifespan (i.e. Splatoon 1 making everyone realize that Gyro Aim is objectively superior to Stick Aim + Aim Assist)
>when all their games looks/plays like they came out in 2005?
I wish. Nintendo games were a lot better back then.
Because Nintendo wants to make more money. That's it.
If you want a legitimate answer, it’s because they don’t. 90% of the games that come out from Nintendo now would make the Gamecube explode. Even if it’s not much relative to the hardware of their competitors, the upgrades they make benefit the games the make. Also newer hardware gives 3rd party devs more wiggle room with ports
>their
hmm
You are moronic
No. You are.
You think Nintendo has made all the 4000 games on Switch?
moron
>LCD
LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO
I have a feeling they got another Wii U on their hands here. It sounds underwhelming as hell already, and the niche of a powerful handheld was filled by Valve not too long ago. The competition is tough and I doubt they can catch lighting in a bottle again.
Has Valve outsold the N-Gage yet?
The problem is the masses don't care about quality, control or consumer friendliness, all they care about is if they see it walmart, ads on their twitter feeds and if their normalgay friends are buying it. It doesn't have to be good to succeed, the average soccer mom isn't going to be signing up for steam to get access to a steam deck to buy for her 30 year old manchild living in her basement, she's going to buy him a switch she saw in target.
Also, china. And other countries and pure availability in general. Valve still doesn't ship to many places.
>Linux
No.
shut up moron
No.
>They can stay well within steam's verified games, which focuses on the main big games casuals would tend to play, and still get a far better experience
Last number I saw back in october there's over 12,000 games verified, very likely above 16,000 at this point, which alone is quadruple the entire switch's library.
The problem is "verified" doesn't mean flawless
It's like emulators that mark something as playable but with issues
The point being the Deck is not as convenient as Deckers claim it to be
It's only "convenient" for someone who is already in the PC ecosystem and has done some troubleshooting before
>the Deck is not as convenient as Deckers claim it to be
In other words, Linux users being Linux users yet again. Disingenuous fricks.
>8-inch LCD screen
Kotor _____3 never ever.
>8 inch screen on a handheld
Why. This thing is going to be bulky as frick.
I don't care if it's LCD but I hope the joycons are dead and gone
They publish this same article yearly, they're just trying to manipulate stocks as usual
>buying consoles
>past the year 2012+12
poor souls..
WERE SO BACK, RELEASE THE $100 POKEMON ALREADY
Mindbroken
Sex with Namonaki-chan
Sounds unlikely.
But sure.
Switch was announced and released inside a half-year window. They can still do that with a successor and hit the holiday season.
The only thing I really care about with a Switch 2 is backwards compatibility. It would be a pain in the ass to dig out my original Switch whenever I want to play something like Final Bar Line or Puyo Puyo Tetris 2.
>It would be a pain in the ass to dig out my original Switch whenever I want to play something
Are burgers actually THIS lazy?
gonna wait for the switch 2 light
It's actually a 7.91" 1080p LCD displays from Innolux and Tianma
Is that a good thing?
Not great, but it will have a higher pixel density than all of the other Switch models.
Sure, sure.
Though that seems fairly idiotic on a screen that size.
?
A 720p 7.91" would be an awful sub 200ppi
Your mom's awful though.
>LCD
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHHA
Shadows of health bars and icons burned in.
No thanks.
>moron thinks OLEDS are still from 15 years ago
Kek your phone uses OLED you idiot. No burn in
Mine doesn't
Yes it does
Good, "muh OLED" is a meme
>overpriced
>burn in after a year tops
Its the new plasma screen, kek, and you fell for it.
no palworld don't care
>2024
>LCD screen
>LCD
>on a portable device
>in 2024
LMAO
You just know they'll release an OLED version a year later to milk the NINTENSOOMERS.
hello nintendo. if your new shitmachine does not have a new iteration of smash your shitmachine will not sell. you will not be getting my money you cucks.
>400mhz CPU
>2GB ram
>4gb flash drive
oh my YES!
Wait, wut?
Is that some crap from the actual article?
Life must be very hard for you anon, I'm so sorry.
I just wanted to hear exactly how stupid the rumors were.
Heres what we know so far:
Big, phat and powerful (portability not allowed)
breath of the mild 3 scrapped
mario shoddyssey 2 scrapped
mario blunder 2 scrapped
basedcons scrapped
open world slop is out
Zelda game PROPER
3D Mario PROPER
Not a just a Switch 2
A real menu

No dlc
Eshop is debloated, trash games are not allowed
>LCD
please be OLED
>handheld consoles are coming back
Wow I can't WAIT for the 4DS!
It's for nerds with glasses!
>switch 2 is going to be Steam Deck hueg
It's fricking over. Deck ruined handhelds forever
What did what now?
>it's coming this year for sure
I mean they say this literally every year so they'll eventually get it right kek
>It was fine for steam deck to be 800p LCD but not Nintendo
PcC cuck double standards as usual
>X screencap
>jewberg
>8-inch LCD
This post might as well have been in Pidgin. What a fricking waste of a thread.
>8" LCD
>Not OLED
>Right when they did OLED
Why would anybody buy it knowing that an OLED version will come soon enough?
Ask the early adopters of Deck.
When the steam deck was launched, nobody knew valve would do an OLED version. That was crystal ball shit.
Now we've seen nintendo dive into OLED with the switch, there's no reason to buy the next one knowing oled would come again.
>inb4 metroid prime 4
OLED is the first thing to cut when the price is already at $400
If it has HDR it can still be decent and have no risk of burn in
Early versions are the most likely to have vulnerabilities.
It's just new version of switch with bigger screen.
If so I'm skipping it.
I like the switch a lot, but they're going to have to some up with something new.
you realize the old methodology of new fancy shaped waste of plastic box is gone?
It's always gone until Nintendo does it again each time.
It’s gonna flop
Screen capped
Tendie is too big too fail, they've a dozen IPs that will sell millions based on name alone. Even if it has no games people will switch in hopes of getting something better because the Switch is too dated.
yeah they have a huge built in audience ready for the next gen leap
Take a look at PS5, it's numbers are still only at 40% the adoption rate of the PS4, physical consoles have lost a bit of their identity, and with 5-10 year development cycles on AAA releases, (BOTW 2 was six years from BOTW launch), I think in general most of the console space have realized that competition for a consumers attention in competing entertainment markets and the increasing cost of hardware is currently making them rethink consoles life-cycles, etc.
>handheld gaming
I unironically have more respect for Indians gaming on their phones.
Put it in the dock, then it's a home console
why do poorgays think everything trickles down from luxury in tech in the span of like 6 months?
not everything can be done in a snap of the fingers.
You getting oled's for example. Can't be done in a snap of a finger for no cost increase.
Long gone are the years of free gains in hardware and performance.
sucks to see gamers who can't handle this
>WAHHH WHY CANT THERE BE THIS
because until the next tech upgrade, that makes the luxury just not so luxurious, all the prices can go down.
Until then the price of luxury fuels the next generation of innovation.
fricking TARDED MONKEYS

>Switch won't outsell the PS2
If they kept the Switch around another year-year and a half it would, but seems unlikely. And the Switch 2 sure as hell isn’t going to. I think it’ll do decently but less than the Switch for sure
LOL
enjoy another woefully underpowered and obsolete on launch piece of shit with the same 5 tired franchise games nintrannies
>t.
Another toddler pad with no screen protection incoming.
>console
>Nintendo releasing new generation console
>The PS5 and Xbox still has no games
Pottery
>$500 LCD deck
ok
>$300 LCD switch 2
nintendoomed
explain
I hate Nintendo
>Better hardware
>deck can run every switch game ontop of every PC game
thats basically it, but nintendoomed is moronic anyways
Switch 2 will have better hardware thank Deck, though
Source?
Nvidia hack. 1.6TF portable, 3TF docked
Even if it technically doesn't, it's still likely to see better performance results and better battery life.
You won't be emulating Switch 2 on a weaker hardware lmao
idk what the hardware is to comment on that, but then there is always DECK 2
I love my launch switch but its showing its a age a bit, hope this comes out soon and is backwards compatible. I will say for a 7 year old machine the battery is still in great shape
My mariko model is really holding up well too.
