Haha, funny joke. It doesn't matter what system you play, the playerbase is going to be 99% shitty playerpigs who won't even ever TRY their hand at DMing. If we're talking DnD, it's 99.9%.
I've found DMs are weirdly impatient in getting a group together. Most players accept they'll have to hunt for a GM for some time, and that's the right mindset. There are tons of players out there and you can easily discard them until you get what you need.
I have offered several times to run a game other than D&D to my friends but they simply aren't interested. Now they say they don't even want to do that. I think I need new friends.
They don't want to RPG at all? That sucks. Taking a break doing other activities has worked for me in the past, eventually video games lose their lustre. Then you come back strong with >Yeah, uh, been looking at this, uh, game, uh, yeah, uh [insert whatever rpg you are currently looking at], yeah, uh, kinda cool, maybe we should try a oneshot of that or something
But getting more RPG friends is probably the better option.
>Have you tried making a better game and making it more popular than D&D?
Not a high bar, especially when you consider what a game actually is and how D&D doesn't fit any of the criteria. >Have you tried fine players who aren't only only interested and know how to play D&D?
Have you tried learning how to proofread your posts in order to properly express what you're trying to say? >Have you found a online tabletop community that is not overrun with D&D Players and Dungeon masters?
These aren't required to play a game, they are merely preference.
>Have you tried making a better game and making it more popular than D&D?
Why would I, when there are already better games out there and I don't give a frick about popularity?
>Have you tried fine players who aren't only only interested and know how to play D&D?
Yes.
>Have you found a online tabletop community that is not overrun with D&D Players and Dungeon masters?
Yes.
because people here keep trying to sell their players on "not dnd" instead of "this awesome shit I found where you can do this cool thing I know you guys would like"
and even when they do they the second thing they make the mistake of talking about how much better it is than dnd, which is just bad salesmanship
I've asked myself the same question. It's a rock in the lake of our mind. It's something that we've built upon, and put a lot of time and effort into. We'll never be able to fill in the ruts that tabletop gaming has carved in our brains, and we insist it needs to mean something that we have them. So we go back to what we know, instead of carving new paths to places we may enjoy more. I think that's just sorta part of being human.
i have schizotypal disorder and every form of human interaction other than the anonymous BBS i grew up on makes me incredibly uncomfortable, and as bad as /tg/ has gotten all the other boards i used to go to are even worse or dead

This is a social hobby, I just play with my friends so none of that really applies.
>play with my friends
>Overrun with Dungeon Masters

I'd settle for friends that don't leave me on read for days or even weeks at a time. Being able to play RPGs would just be a bonus.
c**ts. Yeah, get new friends. That's shitty behaviour.
>Popularity means quality
Thanks for your input. You can go back to playing Fortnite and eating Macdonald's four times a day.
>eating Macdonald's
Pay attention zoomers, this is how you spell it. You go to MacDonald's for a Big Mac, not McDonald's for a Big Mc.
It's called Macca's, zoomer.
Shut the frick up, Australia.
No, you go to McDonalds for a Big Mac, because language is weird.
Stop breathing oxygen and drinking water and living on this planet.
Be as contrarian about those things as you are about games.

Why would I want to ruin my game by catering to basic b***h-tier homosexuals?
>basic-b***h troll who comes to a board just to complain about [popular thing] thinks he can convince people he has standards
lol
OP didn't even mention D&D. kys tryhard wanting to fit in
>No matter how many times we try to leave, Why do we keep getting dragged back.
me with taco bell
Maybe because it's the only places open at two o'clock in the morning.
>No matter how many times it gives me violent diarrhea I keep coming back to Taco Bell.
Same.

Who needs players when you have AI?
Should have chose wargaming, which actually requires dedication to the hobby and naturally gatekeeps secondaries unlike role playing filth.
