You are a literal moron then.
4 doesn't even have random map generation, functioning AI or fun stuff to do. It removes all "broken" stuff from 3 like logistics and powerful spells / unit combos and replaces it with... nothing. And it looks worse than goat puke.
4 is more broken than 3, as in literally broken. When you have a large army, and attack a town, "AI" will just shuffle it's troops on and off from towers, sometimes even their ranged units won't shoot. Other thing is "Potion of Immortality", Xanfas map on hardest, sneaky hero, essentially you beat everything just with a hero, no reason to buy any units. They did not try to balance sneaking, instead made only a single XL map, so you utilise it less.
Also while that is separate from gameplay, most 3D in game looks like shit. And battle grid also sucks.
>It removes all "broken" stuff from 3 like logistics and powerful spells / unit combos and replaces it with... nothing.
While the zoomer in question is a complete moron, Order spells in 4 are broken on so many fricking levels, it's not even funny. Hypnosis, two different cloning spells, morale hijinks... and you have two caster units, too.
Aesthetic value through graphics and music hold up to this day
Gameplay still very good, but exploitable if you know the game. Should immerse someone new to the series just fine though
Modding community still active
Makes 95% newly released games in the last 10 years look like shit easily
For me it’s not nostalgia.
I played the Homm5 first, and had a lot of fun.
Then I played HoMM 3 and actually found it better.
I still come back to 5 from time to time out of nostalgia, but the 3 is the one I enjoyed the most.
Also tried Song of Conquest, but it felt like garbage and returned to HoMM 3.
Consider this:
I've played a hotseat with friends last weekend.
I've been playing hotseats for past 22 years.
On top of that, I'm also playing it solo, because there is an endless supply of randomly generated maps that are always fun.
still good. >still has an active playerbase >a playerbase that made a mod that has an revived multiplayer lobby >thousands of people watch streams of players and tournaments. >Art so crisp >State of art music
the game is good and more alive than probably ever
It's still very good but 2 is better
>t. zoomers starved for (You)s that never played a single HoMM game in their lives
Here, get some
Mostly nostalgia
Good but overrated through nostalgia.
I unironically prefer HoMM 4.
IV sucks ass.

You haven't played the game.

ban the base ai. making something barebones isn't all that hard

Ironically, nostalgia is the only saving grace of 4, unlike 3.
still 10/10 I play it with my homies when our schedules line up

Played on the Normal/Standard difficulty it's easily more difficult than Very Hard mode in most games made in the past 10 years
Great music and sprites with great art direction never get old.

HOMM 2 and 3 are still some of the best in their genre. AoW3 and that new indie one might be better but not by much.
>that indie one
You don't mean that pixelvomit game, right?

Best of them all. Still holds up IMO.
Songs of Conquest is also a banger.
3>5>>>2>>>>>>>>>>The rest of homm
It was never good. Shit series in general with simplistic battles and awful campaign map.
I fricking hate everything
still good.

Still on top, best game ever made
