they could have released it again and people would have ate it up, this game is just a perfect storm of a bad mix of genre, ambition, actual ability, etc
oblivion had the content to motivate the player to play it
fallout 3 had the content to motivate the player to play it
skyrim had the content to motivate the player to play it
fallout 4 had the content to motivate the player to play it
starfield is an empty barren husk like fallout 76 but without the enemy variety and so thoroughly neutered of any narrative impetus that there's nothing compelling anybody to play it
I still can't name a single character from Starfield despite spending a worrying amount of my time here on Ganker
Is there just nothing interesting enough to post about? No fun quests? No interesting characters? No meme-worthy clips to make webm out of?
Yeah, I didn't do that one. I was talking about the thing where you become a Texas Ranger in space. I had fun with several quests, but the core space gameplay sucks, and outside of that it is just a worse Fallout 4. Worse crafting, way worse exploration, unbelievably worse companions... etc.
The random conversations in cities offered nothing. Generic conversations with no personality.
They seemed more concerned with who was having the conversations than the conversations themselves.
I find the fluoride staring mystery meat dystopia fascinating and love watching videos of them just going about their vacant lives as if nothing is amiss
Empty ass world, no characters, plot is moronic Dragonborn 2 electric boogaloo, no memorable enemies, nothing. The game is empty and fills only the autistic needs of a few niche audience, which must be precisely what went through Todd's aging chess club delusions
But there's ship building I guess
> What went so horrendously wrong?
People don’t like space. They like an abstraction of space where every planet is a unique theme park like in star wars.
1,300 planets with the majority of them being cratered grey rocks with no atmosphere only appeals to a particular flavor of autist (me). And truthfully they didn’t even do that very well.
yeah, that's the whole point of science FICTION.
are you going to post this in every thread now as some kind of gotcha?
reality being boring has nothing to do with starfield being a shit boring game
starfield had NO reason to try to do things realistically, and yet they did.
>everyone
kerbal is the most autistically niche game on earth
skyrim, fallout and starfield are SUPPOSED to cater to max appeal
starfield has failed to ignite the imagination of normalgays, because it failed to be the star wars/star trek talk with aliens/shoot at aliens/frick with aliens grand space fantasy everyone was expecting it to be
>starfield had NO reason to try to do things realistically, and yet they did.
just say you don’t like space man lol
Not everyone wants the same generic scifi universe. Some of us actually think the natural world is pretty neat
>it’s science fiction
starfield is also science fiction. Between the magic space rock gravity drives and multiverse shit. It’s just aesthetically and narratively more grounded >i like space when it's filled with cool aliens and stuff to interact with
yeah that’s my point. You don’t actually like space, you like an abstraction of it. You were never going to like starfield because this wasn’t the type of universe it was ever trying to be.
where the frick is all the edge? its an m rated game but there's no consequences, no real stakes, you can't be evil at all, no dismemberment, strip clubs in shady areas with fully clothed npcs etc. it's way too sterile. they should have either cut out all combat and shooting and made it into some comfy space explorer game or actually commit and turn it into a gritty scifi rpg where shooting people in the head actually does something. right now it's neither and it just bores the frick ouf of me.
When you outsource your dev team overseas who don't know what a polygon count is. Then when you have four big ideas but integrate them in a mix mash way trying to be safe as possible. Lethal company is a better exploration game than starfeild, somehow the dungeons are more varied when it actually has less than starfeild. What worse than a boring game, cringe dialogue. All the writing makes my back tense up and only did three mission before I was done.
no aliens
fpbp
i wanted bethesda mass effect, and what i got was fallout 4 but emptier and uglier
Bethesda has been releasing the same game since oblivion and it seems like good will has finally run out
they could have released it again and people would have ate it up, this game is just a perfect storm of a bad mix of genre, ambition, actual ability, etc

Most bad reviews are from people that can't run the game well
everyone deserves a (you).
does it at least have bawdbots?
not in the slightest. the closest you'll get is the laughably bad robotic (as in they're stiff and horrible) dancers in Neon.
I still can't name a single character from Starfield despite spending a worrying amount of my time here on Ganker
Is there just nothing interesting enough to post about? No fun quests? No interesting characters? No meme-worthy clips to make webm out of?
the only meme worthy thing is that you are the STARBORN and you learn magic space shouts.
creatively bankrupt
>No fun quests?
The space ranger thing was pretty fun.
The Ryujin quest was awful.
Go get coffee
Ok now you are a spy because you got coffee without killing anyone.
Yeah, I didn't do that one. I was talking about the thing where you become a Texas Ranger in space. I had fun with several quests, but the core space gameplay sucks, and outside of that it is just a worse Fallout 4. Worse crafting, way worse exploration, unbelievably worse companions... etc.
You can kill the guy and still be a spy because you aren't afraid to get your hands dirty.
i killed everyone and they still made me a spy lmfao. i'm pretty sure the cashier is the only killable quest npc

The woke shit really killed this game.
I find the fluoride staring mystery meat dystopia fascinating and love watching videos of them just going about their vacant lives as if nothing is amiss
It's like an entire game made with radiant AI and quest system. Empty, hollow, depressing shit from beginning to the end.
It gets worse when you beat the game once.
>Skyrim get out
>A decade of Thalmor's vassals vs stormfron...cloaks banter
>Fallout 4 appear
>A decade of brotherhood vs militia vs skizos vs pisstitute banter
>Starefield is relased
>Nothing. Only complains about how bad the game is.
we won sister 🙂
I can handle the bugs and boring gameplay and the shitty quests but the loading screens make me wana kill myself
The game so bad even trannies don't like it

Kerbal (1) had realistic planets. All with their specificities.
And everyone loved them.

i like science fiction, man
i like space when it's filled with cool aliens and stuff to interact with
if i wanted realism i'd watch a fricking movie

people kept buying bethesda slop
Remember when the media tried to pretend it was game of the century for like a week after it came out?
