I dislike that people missed the point of 1 being episodic. In spite of the fantastically designed big and highly interactive levels, it's still worse than Blood Money because of its shitty IKEA soft railroading and achievements killing exploration and experimentation.
>achievements killing exploration and experimentation
This take is so fricking stupid and yet it's lasted since the Xbox 360 came with it. No, it doesn't remove content from the game it just dings a little medal whenever you do something new. In Hitman's case it unlocks some minor shit. Anyone saying Blood Money is better is just trying to rep "real gamer" points because Blood Money is far more limited. Swapping the prop pistol with a real one is no different from a nuHitman opportunity. I've seen some real morons on Ganker too, claiming the nuHitman games are "scripted" as if the old games are not. >but it guides you to the kills!
Turn it off. That's your issue.
I wish more games did this kind of thing, I know Hitman was planned from the start to support all levels in the end but I would love to see more games come out with the entire previous game's levels too if the design allows for it.
to be fair PSVR isnt full VR anyway
but even if we get KB+M VR i will finally invest in VR just for hitman because i know i can easily get 1000+ more hours from it
Probably the best AAA I've ever played. It's insultingly deep and takes easily 200-300 hours to complete without exploiting the mechanics aka killing/rushing the level
>highly repetitive
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Any time Hitman as a series tried to deviate from the “kill all targets, then escape” formula, it never worked out well.

I think the irony of calling the new games scripted is they have by far the most fleshed out mechanics to allow you to kill a target dynamically without the aid of mission stories. The mechanical depth is ridiculous.
>If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
It's broke, and that's the problem. I'm not complaning about the killing of targets, that's the good part. I'm complaining about the repetitive gameplay loop which is plagued by an abysmal AI.
I did a first play through + uninstall about a year ago and now I’m doing Silent Assassin and I’m having way more fun. This is on Hitman 2 but when 3 comes to Steam and goes on sale I’ll get that too
All together, taken as one package (which it will inevitably be), easily one of the best games of the generation, if not the best. It's a sheer joy to play, I really can't get over it. Returning it to it a couple of times a week just to try new escalations/missions/alterations has become a hobby.
IOI has the most moronic management in the industry.
The always online is bullshit.
There should be more maps like Hokkaido.
Otherwise it was good, Hitman 2 had too large maps.
Essentially one game split into 3. Way better than whatever absolution was despite taking some mechanics from that game that worked.
Idk its like Bloodmoney to some extent which I liked. I just hope in the next game they bring back the money you get depending on how well you do, so you can upgrade guns/buy equipment for missions.
Absolution had a lot of good ideas, but it was hurt by its linearity. I’m glad they put the better mechanics of that game in a superior game where they can shine.
>single player game >episodic releases >exploitative DLCs >have to be always online to play >has missable content
I think it's a prime exhibit of the cancer that is modern gaming.
It sucked.

Sigma mindset.

Don't use mission story and other aids. Don't look at achievements. Problem solved.

This is true, though.
>it's over
but the steam release isnt for like three more months
still holding out hope for PC VR

kino
Since when is throwing a Black person over a balcony a “body found”?
Blood Money
Where is my fricking VR for PC
piece of shit devs.

best of the franchise
>What are Contracts and Blood Money
Probably the best AAA I've ever played. It's insultingly deep and takes easily 200-300 hours to complete without exploiting the mechanics aka killing/rushing the level
This.
I was having fun until I noticed I could beat every level by killing everyone because the shooting controls weren't clunky like in the old games.
you could still do that in the old games though
Do I wait for H3 on steam to play the entire series, or do I go for H2 and 1 included?
You can transfer your progress from H2 (including H1 levels) to H3, but I would wait anyway since they updated the levels in 3 to take up less space
Ok, cheers lads. I'll wait it a bit longer then.
if you want to experience everything possible i'd play each of them separately
otherwise just wait for steam release, nearly there
Wouldn't be funny if the game had only female targets and you had to rape them instead of killing them? haha
>Hitman 2
>Hitman III
why
You missed the other 109 games
I'll tell you once it isn't a game as a service that requires constant connection to servers for progression despite being 100% singleplayer.
Not bad, but highly repetitive, with tons of broken mechanics, a serious lack of realism, and too many "press X for awesome".
Missions quickly end up all looking the same because npcs all behave the same and you still use the same tools and tricks.
It's not bad, but 2 was overdoing it already, and 3 should have never happened.
>highly repetitive

good choice
i think i've loved every hitman game at one point or another
besides hitmanGO, never played that
I got sick of all the bullshit in both HitmanTM and HitmanTM 2.
>turn on faucet, get shot
>can't silent takedown on stairs
>overpowered and abusable throwing
>AI either psychic or moronic

I think it's the most polished Hitman game, and the little stories in each level are honestly pretty good.. better than the overarching plot tbh.
IOI has the most moronic management in the industry.
The always online is bullshit.

>1 is meh
>2 is less meh
>3 is eh
overall ok but not great, the story and some boring levels bring it down from being great to just average
Haven't managed to play 3 yet, but 2 and 1 are both absolutely fantastic games
>single player game with always online DRM
>bribed to not sell on a competitors storefront
The quest system is dogshit.
Hitman 3 isn't even out yet, how is it over?

Reasonably enjoyable puzzle game
