I'm a not much for anime, but I did enjoy Akira, Ghost in the Shell, The Vision of Escaflowne, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood... I think that's about it. What else should I watch? Patlabor looks good. Pls only one or two top tier suggestions.
Recently watched through the Patlabor tv show. If you can stand the slow pace the show has a quiet charm to it.
If you enjoyed the cyberpunk aspects of some of those shows then I'd suggest Psycho-Pass, it's enjoyable to begin with even if it becomes a bit of a trudge in season 2.
Super Dimensional Fortress Macross and then Macross Do You Remember Love.
Gundam 0079, Zeta, ZZ and Char's Counterattack.
Wings of Honneamise
Give Patlabor 1 and 2 a try, they are good.
anon im gonna be honest with you: ive been on wsr for half a year and i cant think of any post
more moronic than yours. to put this into context for you: there is right now a 'how do I get into online gaming' and a 'I want a good anime that blows wind in my sweaty pants' thread.
>S2 was so good
Too many of the episodes were self-indulgent shit with zero entertainment value, it was worse than season 1 overall even if the highlights were better.
i personally regard this as one of anime's swan songs before it became predominantly formulaic like today.
it used to be original but it's all just manga and LN adaptations now, shonen crap, slice of life crap, moe crap... it's a real complaint
>it used to be original
Anime started as mainly adaptations of manga, literally called "terebi manga".
The most important anime were usually adaptations of manga or played into popular genres of the time like mecha.
This "muh anime used to be all original" shit is stated purely by someone who has watched maybe 5 pre-90s anime at best, and definitely hasn't seen a single 70s or 60s anime.
Hell, here's a list of the most important anime, with their source listed next to them >Tetsuwan Atom (manga) >Tetsujin-28 Go (manga) >Dororo to Hyakkimaru (manga) >Ashita no Joe (manga) >Ace wo Nerae! (manga) >Zambot 3 (original, toy commercial) >Gundam (original, toy commercial) >Ashita no Joe 2 (manga) >Ideon (original, toy commercial) >Daicon III (original) >Macross (original) >Hokuto no Ken (manga) >Zeta Gundam (original) >Dragon Ball Z (manga) >Royal Space Force (original) >Legend of the Galactic Heroes (LN) >Patlabor (media mix project) >Gunbuster (original, though inspired by Ace wo Nerae heavily) >Urusei Yatsura (manga)
And that's just the 60s to 80s
It has always been playing a part in adapting manga material you moronic homosexual and I'm not even talking about Tezuka's work or early mahou shojo shows.
Awesome movie the manga is also really good too. God bless whoever was responsible for acquiring the whole series of books at our local library the moment it became available in german!
Meh, Nothing really.
Sure, i don't dig Vash's redesign. But i'm actually going to hold before i throw shit at it. Orange is mildly competent when it comes to cgi animation and the trailer didn't look like a shitfest so i guess i do have a degree hope for it to be a decent show. But once again, this is modern anime, so i'm not expecting much.
>tokyo is a destroyed wasteland >gang violence as survivors fight for territory >no known way of cultivating crops or growing food >FRICK YOU, UN, WE DONT NEED YOUR HUMANITARIAN AID
Was kaneda moronic?
If you are talking about the ending, he refuses help from outsiders and foreign countries since he's still a dumb delinquent and a rebel. And yes he is moronic.
It's not a good movie but it's one i like regardless. It's not good because the screenplay/script is atrociously bad.
But it's watchable because the animation/set pieces and music are just so good.
What went wrong was it utterly flopped and they lost a shitload of money. Seriously watching Akira is the closest you'll get to watching money just burn away before your eyes.
The amount of effort they spent on the art and animation was insane.
People say they don't make anime like they used to - and they're right, because after Japan's economy shit the bed in 1991, and all the big movies like Honeammise, Akira and GITS etc flopped, they simply can't afford to make em like they used to.
The only movies that made money were from Ghibli - and even then only the miyazaki ones broke even. Takahata's movies all flopped too.
whoops wrong pic
Absolutely nothing.
Still stands as the best-animated movie of all time.
>he doesn't realise
>castle of cagliostro
>kiki's delivery service
>end of evangelion
all arguably AS good as akira, not any sort of slam dunk
you guys say evangelion instead of evangelion right?
None of those come close to Akria you blind moron

vampire hunter d bloodlust
Cowboy Bebop
Samurai Champloo
Rurouni Kenshi Trust & Betrayal (the 4 episode OVA, not the series)
>Cowboy Bebop
>Samurai Champloo
Appolon is better than both of them, and the same director.
Sword of Stranger, it’s a movie so it won’t cost too much time
Super Dimensional Fortress Macross and then Macross Do You Remember Love.
Gundam 0079, Zeta, ZZ and Char's Counterattack.
Wings of Honneamise
Give Patlabor 1 and 2 a try, they are good.
>he thinks entriest entry level netflix anon would appreciate any of these and especially Wings of Honneamise.
Are you implying that Honneamise is deep in some way? Because it was written by a 24 year old lmao
anon im gonna be honest with you: ive been on wsr for half a year and i cant think of any post

Seething
>i was merely pretending to be a troony
YWNBAW
>still can't articulate what his problem is
kek stay mad you dumb b***h
>tell me why im moronic i cant see it
of course you dont
utterly impotent, what a loser lol
sick comeback bro. creating a non-issue from your mental illness like a troony sure showed me.
>still seething impotently
pathetic
I don't think Wings of Honneamise is a bad suggestion if someone liked Akira.
If you like slow arthouse films watch Angel's Egg.
Trigun
Space Dandy
S2 was so good, but I have to wonder, did they know they would never get a 3rd season and is that why they went all in for experimental stuff with it?
>S2 was so good
Too many of the episodes were self-indulgent shit with zero entertainment value, it was worse than season 1 overall even if the highlights were better.
They only wanted 2 seasons and a movie. The Movie never happened.

Did you forget to mention Evangelion?
>rewatched Ghost in the Shell
>plot is just as moronic as Akira but beloved by it's animation
Are all old anime movies like this?
nah, patlabor, the goshogun movie, be invoked, macross and more still hold up in all aspects
Ping Pong the Animation

Nothing. It earned its praise.
Patlabor is based.

Nothing. Huge improvement on the manga. Great movie.
Too fricking short.
Read the manga.
i did and made me realize that i don't care honestly anything about akira other by its godly animation.
>too adhd-ridden to appreciate the paneling, the art and the wild ride
I'm so sorry anon. I didn't know you can't read manga.
i thought you gays were talking about the mega drive game
It's a good OVA, watched it through the 4k release myself. I still need to read the manga though.

OP here, I was talking about the Amiga game but I forgot Ganker is full of morons
Just link me the kino moment already
>CANADAAA
>TOKYOOOO
>moments women will never understand
Awesome movie the manga is also really good too. God bless whoever was responsible for acquiring the whole series of books at our local library the moment it became available in german!
>post yfw you watched the new trigun trailer

Embarrassing zoomer plebs parroting their favorite ecelebs' epic hot takes GET THE FRICK OFF THIS WEBSITE
Careful not to burst a blood vessel, grandpa.
Literally Crysis in anime format aka technological masterpiece dogshit everything else
You now realize the rise of anime coincided with the downfall of the West
It's bollywood shit and looks like it was drawn by a 4 year old.
It's the only piece of media I've seen with an actual 192khz audio track.
Isn't this game legit impossible to beat due to bad platform placement?
Nothing but it's nowhere near as good as kino like this
>tokyo is a destroyed wasteland
>gang violence as survivors fight for territory
>no known way of cultivating crops or growing food
>FRICK YOU, UN, WE DONT NEED YOUR HUMANITARIAN AID

Justify this statement.
