to this day the only routes that truly made you feel like you're navigating through an ocean
because of the complaints, water routes are just corridors with conveniently placed rocks all around so that you never get lost, pathetic

Simply said, it's a big group of very small islands and stones.

Has there been any game since gen 3 that has had a moment that actually makes you plot out a route the way you need to from Pacifidlog to get to the Regi chamber? Like you actually had to go through the route a few times in order to chart your course backwards. I feel like no game since has required that level of thought, simple though it is.

      >people whine about gen 3 routes being too complex
      >people whine about gen 4 dungeons (mostly coronet) being too complicated
      >people complain about their 'bros' from previous gens missing in gen 5
reminder that the fans are the main reason why modern games have linear corridors, simple ass dungeons or no dungeons at all, and constant nostalgia pandering

Gen 3 routes aren't complex. They are corridors with nothing but water

the last stretch with the water routes is literally the most open part of the game

        That's actually what happened.

Underwater was cool, but yes there is too much water. The soul is all in in places like the route with fallen ashes. Love that shit.

Game freak forgot to create 30 water type and flying type mons that would've made this more bearable.

Also they forgot secret islands with hidden unique pokemon.

Overall it shows r/s was rushed, which is why we have no beta. The game was basically in beta and never got edited except for small details like horns and tails.

We actually have confirmation through interviews, nintendo was rushing the release. Masuda had to give birth a few weeks before development ended.

I wish they'd just finish the games, and its always been a problem at game freak.

Loved these as a kid, meanwhile most of gen 5 is an asphalt road with maybe a small cave on the side if the route is feeling daring

I hated it because the "exploration" was basically just a grid sweep. That's boring as frick.
