So did the devs just give up or what? I remember it was supposed to come to consoles last August, so updates were halted for PC to focus on console release. Still not on console and the last update was just the shop update which was in February.
I've realized these devs kinda suck. They take forever to release updates and when they do they break the game for weeks. The game runs like shit and you get banned for using any mods (which this game would benefit a lot from). Shame because it's fun
All together? That's a lot. I'm honestly wanting to see their overhaul for the level grinding since I read they were turning that down somewhat and making leveling/gear unlocking faster.
From what little I've heard cj mention, Unity seems like a nightmare. It may be easier to just move to an entirely new engine than to use duct tape and string on this one.
>4 years in dev >barely any new maps >no horror events still, just the same old shit >overcomplicating the equipment >removing the flickering ghost shadow that gave you a hint where the ghost was, making the hiding mechanic a gamble >adding a frickload of ghosts, you can easily misidentify a ghost now >still the same asset flip character/"ghost" models >wasting time making seasonal events for streamers than actual content
I wish they would just focus on making a lot of smaller maps, that's where Phasmo shines, short gameplay sessions. Also it needs more scary/interesting events. When they started adding many ghost types and overcomplicated the ghost ID mechanic that's when I lost interest.
I don't mind the bigger ghost pool but the same old ghost events, no new maps, the moronic 90° back breaking models when you look up among other stupid shit still being in make it hard to come back
I still play with friends, but it's my least favorite coop horror game. Lethal and Content Warning are better. I'm still pissed that I was 300 levels before the update and had to grind to unlock the equipment that I already had by default before the update, when they should have made it to where veterans had the good equipment to start off with..
who fricking cares for VR, another issue where the dev doesn't know their own audience. Phasmophobia is fun with friends and small maps are kino.
No one cares about shitty VR. Everytime I joined a lobby with a VR player they looked so ridiculous and they could break the game because they'd clip everywhere, it was so unfun to play with them.
I like the bigger maps, but none of my friends want to play them. I'm stuck doing a rotation of Willow, Edgefield, etc. Never get to do Prison or Sunny Meadows because they are too scared to do it.
I only play this game for a while every year to year and a half at most, I like it but also I would like it to remain feeling "special" in that spooky way, I don't want it to become just another video game and the more you play the more the mechanics become mundane.
>run into house >throw down every piece of equipment in the game >go through the checklist >"oh no its hunting" >go through the checklist >"oh no its hunting again" >go through the checklist >"oh no its hunting again" >go through the checklist >"oh no its hunting again" >click the ghost type >leave without having to retrieve any equipment, bodies, or do anything about the ghost
it fricking sucks now. ghosts hunt basically nonstop and there is no investigation or real gameplay anymore. just in and out as quick as possible
What are you looking for in an investigation?
I like playing on Nightmare because of the 2 clues and then trying to guess which ghost it is from its specific behaviours.
maybe a puzzle or something, a bit more interaction with the environment than literally nothing at all. the ghost is haunting a specific house, why cant we find out why, or have the means to exorcise it.
maybe some maps have the players collect the bones and put them back in some old grave. or find out the identity of the ghost through some on site information and have to say a specific name and tell the ghost to move on. complete a ritual using items found in the house.
finding out the type of ghost and then just leaving is about the most boring thing you could possibly do with a ghost hunting game
In the newest update, if you bring incense, salt, or any disposables into the house and don't use it, it is lost. Same for crucifixes. It does get repetitive though. I wish my friends would be more varied in their gaming habits. I'd love to play No Man's Sky or Total War with someone.
>people still think that indie devs will actually finish their early access slop fests after they already got their streamer blow up and paycheck
Man you guys are absolute fricking suckers haha. Popularity is the worst possible outcome for any early access game.
hate

These things, they take time.

The game would benefit heavily from the Steam workshop or something just for customs maps alone.
i realized this 2 years ago and dropped it accordingly
Next big update is adding the lighthouse map, revamps of the two farmhouse maps, and photo and video overhaul.
All together? That's a lot. I'm honestly wanting to see their overhaul for the level grinding since I read they were turning that down somewhat and making leveling/gear unlocking faster.
>All together?
Oh I doubt it, but those are next on the agenda.
It's three dudes and I imagine the underlying systems done by one guy are pretty shoddy and need a lot of boring work.
From what little I've heard cj mention, Unity seems like a nightmare. It may be easier to just move to an entirely new engine than to use duct tape and string on this one.
Is VR still a shitshow on this game?
It works alright now. All the issues I had like dropping items randomly got fixed around halloween last year.
HELLO? ARE YOU THERE? WHATS YOUR NAME? ARE YOU FRENCH?
BOB NEWHART, ARE YOU A GHOST?

I've been saying that too. More small maps is all I ask.
I gave up on this game when they gave up on the "Horror 2.0" stuff
Here's your game dev, bro.
what's wrong with him?
ESG-DEI face
are you a mindbroken shitposter?
gay troon devs
oh no the ghost is walking in a straight line towards me!! x10000
who the frick plays this shit

Have YOU played in VR?

You might want to try Demonologist, it's a Phas ripoff where you do exactly that, and it's a lot freakier in my opinion.

why can't we just get a good ghostbusting game without homosexual coop shit
you CAN play on your own you know
It would be cool if we got new varied ghost models for each ghost type....but I guess that would give away what it is so that wouldn't really work.
>people still think that indie devs will actually finish their early access slop fests after they already got their streamer blow up and paycheck
Man you guys are absolute fricking suckers haha. Popularity is the worst possible outcome for any early access game.
Slow as it is, the game has had updates for four years now
>Bite me
Dumb Shitbrain, how old are you? Were you a moron in life? How happy is everyone now that you're dead?
New ghost when?
