Gonna be picking it up from Gamestop day 1. Part of me is hoping they'll trickle out copies a day or two early because the 29th is my one year anniversary with my gf so I won't have a chance to dig into it til Saturday.
Game looks great though, only thing that I'm not a huge fan of is the art style. I'm really glad they're going for a more serious tone, but I wish they changed the aesthetic to match. Something akin to Xenosaga EpIII would have been perfect, but I guess that's just not as marketable. For what it's worth, I think the designs are more consistent than XB2 so it's still a step in the right direction.

I mean, I'd love if the game was on PS5 too, since that would solve my problem. I'd love if every Switch exclusive was on PS5 or PC since the Switch is an underpowered piece of shit that shits the bed for literally any game thrown at it nowadays. But it's not really due to console warring, it's just due to wanting acceptable performance. Nintendo could release a new system with decent specs and I'd buy that just as happily as I would see games ported to PS5.

In docked mode? I imagine it generally should since XC2 did and this doesn't really seem to have better graphics, looks like the same engine, same style, probably even the same assets in some cases. In handheld you can absolutely forget about it.

A hacked one with the sysmodule that displays FPS installed. I didn't use it 100% of the time but when I did there weren't really any drops. The only times FPS really dropped was when it was loading new shit and that was mostly alleviated by a slight CPU OC.

No, should be fine since Nintendo is actually running it underclocked compared to what it is actually spec'd for by NVIDIA. Overclocking a Switch is more like returning it to what it should be in the first place. It will run hotter and the fan will run faster too, but in my experience even going with max CPU + GPU OC it barely goes north of 60C so it's perfectly fine. I would not do it on battery though, just docked. Batteries don't like heat too much and quicker discharge also results in more wear, so you really want to avoid going beyond the Nintendo standard operating modes when on battery.
Do note though that handheld mode actually has multiple different clock profiles and the devs decide which to use for their game. Some games do not choose the fastest operating mode, neither XCDE nor XC2 run in the fastest handheld configuration IIRC. If you set it to the fastest (official) handheld clocks you can get a fair bit more performance. I think I remember actually lowering CPU clock a bit in handheld and raising GPU clocks in XC games, since that lets them run at higher res so they look less blurry.

literally the only issue at this point is random oversaturation over Gormott during daytime which happened to me like 2 times total
it also has mods to turn off double bufferisation and godawful sharpness filter
