Aren't you a rogue trader in this? Why would you wear power armor?
Im not the most knowledgeable about RT but i believe you had to use power armor from DH if your DM would allow it.
Inquisitors, Imperial guard generals, Sisters of battle and of course people who are wealthy enough, such as planetary lords, nobles in general and Rogue traders.
You could technically buy one, but honestly?
A void-shield plus your innate dodge is a better defense because you aren't as tanky as a marine or a techpriest.
Rogue Traders wear power armor, yeah. They're one of the only groups in the Imperium with reliable access to it outside of the usual suspects. The fact we can't get any is kinda lame.
I'll just wait for Space Marine 2. I don't inherently dislike the idea of a RT CRPG. But I've never enjoyed Owlcat games and it's pretty obvious that that isn't going to change.
terminator armor exists for baseline humans too. It just seems weird to have one of the most wealthy and connected (at least in theory) humans in 40k not having access to almost everything. Sure can't get marine relic tier stuff, but rogue traders deal in xenos shit as well as imperial all the time. If the rogue trader wants a baal-made melta pistol, or a set of ornate power armor, or terra forged lightning claws, or martian combat servitors, he should be able to, barring any gm shinanigans.

Why do you enjoy slurping the slop so much? It doesn't matter anyway, power armor is in, it's a matter of using toybox to allow your character to wear it
Just one of the many, many things you have to fix with mods because Owlcat is a fan of Bethesda
7 months ago

i don't give a shit about power armour because i wasn't gonna wear it anyway. if that's a dealbreaker to you, then you are free to not buy it. you will though all the while slurping your own tears and snot because you too can't help but consume
nta and I know lorewise it isn't typical for rogue traders to have power armor but can't the richest ones get their hands on some via you know, trading?

Yeah, but they are rare.
Honestly, in RT's setting, if you can't access back the imperium, chances are you won't get a power armor if it's not already on footfall.
You have great armors anyway, with heavy xenomesh and shit, so i don't see the problem.
cRPGs will never get a good game will we? Either the writing is complete shit or the gameplay is broken to having to wait years for a fix that just breaks something else

There are power armor types other than Space marine armors.

More like owlcat planned to do it and got a big fat no from GW. Several instances of such a thing now, working with them must be a nightmare.

At least in the beta you didn't get anything exciting. >LasGun >LasGun +1 damage >LasGun +2 damage AND +1 to aim
The best and most unique thing was the gun you got after taking out the floating monster in act 3 and that was just an eldar machine gun equivalent with better stats.
>as usual in Owlcat games
You didn't play Kingmaker moron. In that game your character literally had nothing special beyond you being able to minmax if you want to. Hell Ekundayo and Nok-Nok could potentially be objectively better than you no matter what, depending on your build
It's in WotR where your character gets something unique to him
>trade empire goes to shit and needs to be rebuilt because Owlcat needs to shoehorn in an annoying management minigame >big paper does not come with money, connections, or influence >Theodora didn't have power armor herself despite being a big-dick RT so she clearly didn't have the connections herself
The writ of trade goes a long way, but it doesn't give carte blanche access to the entirety of the Imperium's resources like the Inquisition.

Power armor for Space Marine, Pasqal, and Argenta. One is space marine only, the other is Admech only, the Third technically anyone could wield but for "lore reasons" it's likely Argenta only.
You can get the admech to run a forgeworld for you. Which, surprisingly, still doesn't get you anything better than a fancy hammer and a shitty tiny secondary vessel for the ship combat, iirc.
You can buy the game now and get early access to a beta. The beta is, of course, buggy shit.
The beta also stopped getting updates like 3 weeks after its release. Act 3 was still a broken garbage fire of unfinished content at that point.
>Couldn't even get past act 1 because I went for the fish first. That locks you out of the Act 1 boss and I couldn't be arsed to start again.
I did that in the initial beta release and made it to the second act. Did they break it with one of the patches?
This looks like a genuine downgrade from Wrath of the Righteous and despite probably having a third of the overall content when you take all the mythic paths into account it'll still be a shoddy mess on release and cost $50.
>Couldn't even get past act 1 because I went for the fish first. That locks you out of the Act 1 boss and I couldn't be arsed to start again.

I played it quite late after I realised you could get into the beta, so I imagine they broke it with a patch and I bet it will still be broken in the final game
>I played it quite late after I realised you could get into the beta, so I imagine they broke it with a patch and I bet it will still be broken in the final game
Noice. So like WotR where they add new bugs with each patch.
Half of the mythic paths are utter dogshit and not half as fleshed out as the good ones. They're releasing boring DLC with multiple season passes to get money, paradox style. The team making the DLC is a small sub-section of the company, they team making rogue trader is the same team that made WOTR.
Not even a complaint, I keep buying their games, just an observation
>an entire mythic path that was a huge part of the advertising just straight up didn't work at WOTR's launch
Remember the enhanced edition they hyped up with some love for the shitty late game mythics and then they did nothing. lul
I wouldn't call that broken, the whole auto-crusade thing is for morons who don't actually want to play WotR.
The campaign itself was fricked because if you had skellies or zombies in your armies, you couldn't bring those back, meaning your reinforcements gto fricked.
Good thing i had fireball guy on duty, or i'd have been stuck on the campaign.

I fricking love Argenta, sisters are some good shit.
Shame she chose to be celiabte but I guess her vows take priority.
Oh well, 10/10 will smite the enemies of Mankind with.
I refuse to believe that some people have been letting this game live rent free in their heads for five years now just because the developers wanted to let an ending remain ambiguous to appeal to more people.
90% of the spam is from that one single guy who fell in love with a video game character and got literally mindbroken by the fact that she had fictional sex before. He's been banned from /vg/ for a reason, you know.
Who cares, that shits stupid rare for anyone but a space marine. Can I at least get a metal tentacle? Dendrite.. mechandrite or w.e the frick 40k calls em.
he's right, only the tippy-top tier of RTs and Inquisitors can get it
who fricking knows why it was cut (or if it was ever in to begin with and Starrok was just talking out of his ass like a good little marketer), but a reasonable lore explanation exists for why (You) can't get it.
I would bet money that you only get the Space Wolf and Argenta's power armor through quests, you don't just stroll up to a Forgeworld and place an order.
I'm pretty sure that post refers to the space marine and argenta, who come already armored.

He probably thought there was nothing wrong with heavy armor being trash in WotR compared to being naked, not worth arguing with
You're not allowed to customize stuff in general. You can't decide on the equipment of your guards or your crew, how the main characters quarters look or anything.
This has been explained one gorillion times, it's because they use the pronouns of the iconic character's gender that represents that class
You homosexuals are so mindbroken by something being pozzed or not that you automatically forget about all the hims or hes
Space Marines aren't born Space Marines, they're born as normal humans and go through a series of grueling genetic and cybernetic modifications if they can get past the recruitment process.
they are normal humans who are selected to be modified into space marines through geneseed and brainwashing therapy.
they also have to spend time as a Scout before they're allowed to wear the power armor.
First they start off as normal men around their 20's.
After a selection process the successful applicants are subjected to a grueling process that impants in them a gene seed.
This gene seed (and a dozen other augments like a second heart and the like) bears the genetic code of the primarch of the legion they are being inducted into.
This causes a massive and rapid mutation that adds even the defects of the gene father into their now newly born space marine.
Women cannot surive this process, men do and even if women could they would probably be rejected each and every time.
Besides, the sisters get gundams and don't have to castrate themselves.
The first sentence is already 100% wrong. The Heresy was the last time anything older than a teenager was ever inducted into the Astartes. The average age of aspirants is between 7 and 12 at time of recruitment and first implantation.
They're big hairy men that do masculine male things in an all male convent, being handpicked chosen by burly Space marines from the best of the tribe. After training they drink a big gulp of Russ' geneseed and become wulfen Space Marines, even burlier and harrier manly men that are doomed to become actual furries that will be ridden by their fellow battle brothers.
>Daring breach >Single-handedly disembowel every single enemy on the map
I love the melee in this game, especially since the sound design really lets you feel the power behind your strikes.
All devs lie because all devs cut content/change their mind, whatever
Larian's 17k ending are nowhere to be seen. I don't care, it's normal for things to change over years of development. All I want is for the game to be good, they can say whatever the frick they want on online forums as long as the final product is something I enjoy
I could see the freebota being a recurring enemy, who after his 3rd defeat decides to join you because maybe this humie knows sumfing about bein ded 'ard that he doesn't... yet. So he has to see if there's anything worth learning.
Its bad enough we have to bring the damn elf and now you want fricking fungus onboard?
Just give me an Ogryn, they're about as stupid and fun as an Ork.
I'd be extremely surprised if they didn't add more characters through DLC. It's basically like printing money.
Ork DLC >a few planets with orks and ork themed problems >can recruit a a gretchin, an attack squig, a freebooter, a Mek, and a kommando
All they'd have to do is repeat this process for each different faction and they'd be rolling in the dough.
Makes sense of they mean astartes PA because you can't interface with it. There are PA that normal people can use but they are even rarer and much more cumbersome.
>even rarer >Inquisition has access to it >Ecclesiarchy has access to it >Admech as access to it >Squats have access to it >Knight households have access to it >even certain high ranked Imperial Guardmen have access to it
The frick are you on about? It's undeniably more plentiful for non marines.
>I'd be extremely surprised if they didn't add more characters through DLC. It's basically like printing money.
For some reason Owlcat is allergic to making DLC people actually want.
>Inquisition has access to it
A handful of people among countless billions >Ecclesiarchy has access to it
That is an exception, yes >Admech as access to it
No shit, they're the ones that manufacture it >Squats have access to it
Not human >Knight households have access to it
Closely allied to Mechanicus, and pilot knights which are even more rare than power armor >even certain high ranked Imperial Guardmen have access to it
Even Lords Solar wear carapace armor, not power armor
>this also describes rogue traders though so not sure what your argument is
Rogue Traders don't possess a level of authority even close to that of an inquisitor with a high enough rank to requisition power armor
Makes sense of they mean astartes PA because you can't interface with it. There are PA that normal people can use but they are even rarer and much more cumbersome.
Having a fricking contract signed by the emperor himself would have 90% of space marines and inquisition bending over to suck your balls for a glance at it
no lol, the Inquisition are on a level above Rogue Traders. Rogue Traders are actually near the top of the Inquisition's suspicious individuals list because they interact with xenos all the time.
they added "marketing software" in some random update that gave you no option to opt out, pretty sure it was gathering way too much information for "marketing software" and uproar made them roll it back within 24 hours. the community managers get fully butthurt if you bring it up
Just some shitty telemetry to know what content the players do, what builds they use, etc. The kind of shit any dev does, but they added it in a patch randomly without telling anything it and it looked like malware. They removed it in the patch right afterwards
They added literal spyware that tracked your browser use without any opt in and modified the EULAl, backlash was massive so they quickly removed it and begged for forgiveness in steam forums.
Drukhari will find a way anon.
Their continued existance literally relies on finding new and innovative ways to rape somebody.
Sometimes they make new holes to frick mataphysically because they all have mind powers.
Oftentimes they slice you up, splice your DNA with a dog and then frick that infront of you.
I'd say the only thing is that Abelard and the player have almost nothing to stand out with.
Argenta, Cassia, Jae, Ulfar, Yrliet, and BDSM elf all have unique shit on top of the same base class/origin that you're working with.
Abelard, Heinrix, Idira, and Player Character are fricked by comparison. Which is weird because one is an inquisitor, and the other is the goddamn Rogue Trader.
And Cassia, Yrliet, BDSM elf, and Ulfar all have abilities on top of that, apparently Jae is going to get some unique gunslinger kit despite being an officer, again making it pointless to ever be a PC officer.
I'm pretty excited for this game.
Owlcat is a pretty big red flag though. They're pretty fricking cucked. I guarantee you there's going to be some bizarre troony quest at some point.
Also, it seems like they write the dialogue normally until there's an insinuation of romance/flirting, and then they outsource it to the fattest fedora reddit moron they can find so that if you want to have sex you need to flirt with the social acuity of Chris-Chan.
I have a feeling that female romances in this game may be a shitshow, aside from maybe Fish. Owlcat has already they're doing something different with Yrilet and Jae just screams "Why?"
I've played the beta.
Flirting with Cassia is literally you being a weird fricking simp straight away.
She mentions how people can be creeped out by mutants and don't like being around them, and your first dialogue choice is literally "They just can't appreciate your beauty like I can." or something like that. Keeping in mind this is your first conversation.
Just cringe as frick lines, dude. You talk like a fat simp sending DMs to a girl with an OnlyFans.
Outside of that, the writing is fine. The Owlcat devs are clearly onions as frick and don't now how to be smooth with women.
Nobody uses /vrpg/
This is not a unique perspective on Owlcat's shitty writing. I remember Kingmaker required you to be a disturbing cuck to bang the warrior chick too.
>and your first dialogue choice is literally "They just can't appreciate your beauty like I can."
Except that's not the case, it's "you are beautiful, don't let anyone tell you otherwise" and this is in response to her basically saying she's fricking ugly for being a mutant abomination
Except she is an ugly mutant abomination and the only reason homosexuals here say otherwise is that the other two female romance options are just that grim in comparison.
Fricking dropped. You can't romance the sororitas, you can't wear power armor, gay buttfrick eldar companion. Worst chapter of space marine as companion.
Space furries are pretty boring. I would honestly take any other loyalist founding chapter over them or even a Black Templar or something. Imagine purging xenos with a BT bro and sororitas in the same squad.
A BT would be fricking annihilating everything that even smells like heresy.
If we have any other kind of marine I would want a Lamenter or a White Scar.

That would make it fun. You would get an OP as shit marine companion but you can't use xenos, can't use the psyker, probably can't use the fish wife, etc. You get immense power companionwise but have to limit yourself.
But I guess in the interest of broader appeal the space wolf makes the most sense but are still gay.

That's bullshit.
There exists non-Astartes PA that is designed for humans. Inquisitors and Imperial Nobles are one of the few people with access to this. SoBs have it as standard gear. Why wouldn't a RT with the ton of wealth he has not have access to human-issued PA despite them having access to it in lore?
This doesn't add up at all.
For me it's more like a "By THE Emperor what the frak is this arse's problem?".

The Blood Ravens themselves are considered completely cannon, and you used to be able to buy one of their characters (Jensus Natorian) for Kill Team.
Either GW has full rights to them, or it's split rights and GW gets all tabletop stuff for them, but Relic/THQ had exclusive use of them in video games.

Blood Ravens seem like an untapped resource if GW really does have full rights to them. I'd wager that behind the Ultramarines, they're the second most recognizable chapter of space marines. 40K was way more niche before Dawn of War came out and most people who are into the hobby now were either introduced by Dawn of War or have otherwise played it.

>I'd wager that behind the Ultramarines, they're the second most recognizable chapter of space marines.
A bold claim that really requires you to add to whom they are recognizable to. To people that just get their 40k from video games, or only got into it from video games maybe, but in the wider sphere? Definitely not.
If they do have full rights, then they're not pushing Blood Ravens because they're not a mini line that they sell, and you should remember that the books, video games, and even the table top games, are all just a way to sell the plastic. The plastic is all that matters to GW.
>Blood Ravens existed long before Relic made Dawn of War.

Blood Ravens existed long before Relic made Dawn of War. Relic selected them as the game's chapter because they were obscure and not being used anywhere else but they did NOT create them. As far as I can tell the Blood Ravens were made specifically for Dawn of War so that Relic could do their own thing with the characters.

Well yeah, her own fault for grabbing the hair instead of restricting either of the tau's arms, leaving both free to grip and steady the pistol. Also forgoing the standard issue flak vest.
>it's the "I know how to be smooth with women, these devs know nothing" autist again
It's a video game romance in an extremely over-the-top setting. It's genuinely supposed to sound corny as frick.
The Imperium has no legal jurisdiction over Rogue Trader ships, so she'd have to complain to her family about it. It would then be up to her noble house to petition the Navis Nobilite that one of their daughters is being used as a fleshlight. As this would no doubt harm their standing amongst the families, it's more likely they'd deal with the matter themselves, hiring assassins or telling Cassia to suck it up.
Navigators have jurisdiction over their sanctum/aquarium, it's considered the sovereign territory of their household. Even ship captains can't just waltz in without permission.
Navigators have jurisdiction over their sanctum/aquarium, it's considered the sovereign territory of their household. Even ship captains can't just waltz in without permission.
Jurisdiction and right in 40k is 100% "good ol' boy" rules. Just because someone has technical authority over something doesn't mean shit most of the time. It's why diplomacy is an incredibly valuable skill for an Inquisitor even if on paper they wouldn't need it because walking into someone's house and swinging your dick around is a great way to go missing or be "killed in action." While official actions can take decades or centuries, pissing off the wrong person can bring a very quick end to your "limitless authority."
Two of your companions can wear power armor. Meaning it already has stats and models in the game.
So I would expect a mod for giving your RT power armor will be out within less than a month of release.
I'll probably respecc her into an argenta-like build since it wouldn't make sense for me to keep Argenta in my main party as a not-so-subtle chaos worshipper.
I accidentally paid for this game twice because Owljew's website wasn't working properly and their "customer service" is literally ghosting me over £30.
Are we sure they meant all sorts of mechanized armor or just specifically Space Marine-esque power armor? I can see GW stepping in for that latter thing.
A lot of the iconography is born from the imperiums culture post emperor but it's a very common joke that he dressed himself like a golden, flaming god and then got pissed when people thought he actually was.
Unironically a LOT of the decoration was added AFTER the emperor's ascension to the golden throne.
Just imagine a bunch of fanatics frantically stapling skulls and religious shit to everything.
Though the big E did have a lot of flair to his own designs and architecture to begin with, and clearly he very much liked the color gold.
Don't even know why they bothered with the regular ass human companions, everyones party is going to be Cassia, Argenta, Pasqal, Yrilet, and Ulfar. Maybe Abelard for being a bro.
wizards aren't so special when everyone has access to stuff that feels and looks like magic. But feel free to surprise me when the game comes out and Idira turns out to be the most used character in the game I guess
Sosiel would could have been fixed by being so mundane, his main ambition is just surviving the crusade and getting back home to take over the family farm or something. To further point out how normal he is, he always wears some standard armor including helmet so you never see his face, like any of the other regulars except he can reach level 20.
Sosiel would be fixed if his questline actually focused on his problems instead of his plot device brother
Also if he was white and straight since that matters so much here

>Also if he was white and straight since that matters
Kind of does, but this wouldn't help him. Needs to be a white straight FEMALE for people to simp over if they wanted others to care.
Male romances are basically a waste of disk space unless they're designed to appeal to women. Regill for example would be infinitely more popular than Sosiel just if he was available for female commanders.
sosiel's problem was the fact that he's a black guy. if he was a woman morons here would be creaming their pants over him "omg muh loyal virgin wife whom i can abuse uwu".
Abelard is purpose built to be the tankiest character in the game. Ulfar is now a Gunner like Argenta (forma Arch Militant) so he'll (probably) never reach the level of tankiness as Abelard.
I haven't really been following the development/beta, but I liked both Pathfinder games.
How does this compare to the previous games? Does it have good build autism? Pre-buffing? Annoying campaign mechanics? Is there some sort of a mythic path equivalent that changes your form and how people see you? Can you play anything other than a human?
And when does it come out?
So if i understand correctly, psykers just get a full power melee options (force weaponry) as a bonus to their already powerful caster skill set?
Doesn't this make a psyker by far the most powerful progression path in the game?
Psyker is garbo early on, it takes until level 10 to get Psy Rating 1 for Main Character and 95% of Powers scaled based on that so you deal shit damage and buff like shit as well, then it's level 20 for Psy 2.
You literally start with 0 Psy Rating
And if you use an Unsanctioned Psyker companion like Idira I hope you enjoy having Wild Magic effects that are always prejudicial happen with high chances even on the first spell she casts in battle, including summoning high HP Daemons that just rape you
I wouldn't mind an only war tactics/crpg type game. Play as a commander leading a ragtag group of guardsmen (from multiple devastated regiments so you can have different guardsmen) fighting in a civil war that becomes an Ork invasion that culminates in the rebels going full chaos out of desperation.
there was also a half eldar space marine librarian in older lore.
Roboute Guilliman is probably going to bang a dark elf, currently in a will-they-won't-they thing.
there are enough humans defecting to the tau empire for there to be a human auxiliary in their armies.
Off the top of my head >a Deldar Wytch admittedly that she found a member of the Salamanders to be quite handsome >a separate Deldar Wytch was fricking a human on a nearly daily basis in the book Nightbringer >an entire Deldar Wytch Coven loves Lucius the Eternal and even hang out with him on a semi regular basis >ADB's cringy Black Legion character Iskandar Khayon loves his Deldar gf so much that he beat up a Keeper of Secrets and brought her back to life >Belisarius Cawl has a Necron gf that he's trying to convince to help him with his plans
If we count daemons then >there's a former world eater member of the Black Legion that has a khornate daemonette gf that sucks his blood and helps him ascend to daemonhood in the Creed book >there's a big titty older sister nun that seduced a child into worshipping Slaanesh by giving him head pats, lap pillows, and singing him to sleep. The big reveal at the end of the story is that she's actually a daemonette with her true form being a snake woman. Centuries later, she'sstill singing this kid (now a noise marine) to sleep. Yes, this is canon. Yes, this all actually happened. It's in the short story A Song for the Lost.
Craftworlders are basically Amish, they broke off from mainstream Eldar society to do their own thing.
Mainstream eldar society were such enormous bawds that they accidentally summoned a chaos god of bawdtery that destroyed their empire. Dark Eldar are the remnants of that empire and they have to do ever more debaucherous acts of lechery or else their soul gets eaten by Slaanesh.
Yes but that's their souls getting eaten at some indeterminate future point if/when they die. If deldar stop torturing people they get slurped within days to weeks.
It's simple really. >DEldar bawd is high maintenance, will plot to backstab you, will be carrying numerous designer made STDs to make your dick explode, will constantly complain about the quality of your palace even though she was literally born in a test tube and dumped in a gutter >Human slave will do whatever you say without question, will never complain (unless you want her to), can be given to a Haemonculus to be altered how you see fit, can be easily tossed out a window and replaced the moment she displeases you, and doesn't even need to be paid
's a big titty older sister nun that seduced a child into worshipping Slaanesh by giving him head pats, lap pillows, and singing him to sleep. The big reveal at the end of the story is that she's actually a daemonette with her true form being a snake woman. Centuries later, she'sstill singing this kid (now a noise marine) to sleep. Yes, this is canon. Yes, this all actually happened. It's in the short story A Song for the Lost.
magical fricking realm

Why is chaos bad again?
So is it worth shelling out early for Beta access even if release is in 2 weeks? I'm starved for CRPGs, and I wouldn't mind starting a new save on release day if it's good.
No. The beta hasn't seen an update since summer and they only patched it to the point where you can kinda reach the end without resorting to console shenanigans. Act 3 is a complete mess of missing text, quests, characters and broken triggers.
Not even light power armour? That's pretty dumb imo. If it's supposed to be that we're too poor to buy it even by the end-game are they going to restrict all the other equipment of "very rare" rarity too? No plasma weapons or power swords or even non-pistol bolters?
>Plays on a difficulty that warns him about the difficulty beforehand >WOOOW why is this game so hard? Why do I have to minmax.
Just don't be stupid and play on normal. Although rogue trader is easier than the pathfinder games, so even the higher difficulties shouldn't be too hard.
Rogue Trader isn't very rule intensive, so the game is only vaguely based on its rules.
This is Owlcat essentially making up their own shit using Rogue Trader as a framework. Judging it based on how the RPG functions is moronic because it's all ultimately up to the Owlcat's own discretion on how they want it balanced.
Here you go moron bro: >Melee characters max WS, and AGI or CON. >Ranged characters max BS and AGI
Now here's where it gets really complex! >Officers max Fellowship (and Willpower iirc.) >Agents max Intelligence and Perception! >Marksmen max the same as ranged! >Fighters max the same as Melee! (but also strength if they don't go assassin)
Why the frick would there not be a T'au companion? Gameplay wise they would be loads of fun and perfect for this. >Glass cannon ranged specialist >Drones for all kinds of uses >Crisis Suits >Can react to players moral choices in a T'au way
It has an entire section for "why the frick are there Tau in the Expanse" anon. Then there's the Comorragh adventure book that has Tau appear as slaves.
Pretty much all Tau worlds are in the Ultima Segmentum, the game takes place in the Koronus Expanse, which is in the halo stars on the very boarder of Segmentum Obscurus.
They can just make up some bullshit, make it member of the 4th Sphere Expansion who didnt end up with the rest of the fleet. >b-b-b-but MUH TIMELINE
nobody gives a frick about 40k continuity
>They can just make up some bullshit
But they won't, because the actual REAL reason why they're not there is because they didn't want to, and the actual reason why they didn't want to was probably to save themselves the money or maybe make them DLC
do you understand now?
Just admit that you want a cute tau anime girl to romance, and here's the reality check, the female Tau romance would be fricking hideous just like the men
Pretty much all Tau worlds are in the Ultima Segmentum, the game takes place in the Koronus Expanse, which is in the halo stars on the very boarder of Segmentum Obscurus.
Wow! You're telling me that in 2014 they released a supplement aimed at a CRPG that would only be announced 7 years later and only released nearly a decade afterwards? That's some foresight.

Anonymous
Goal post shifting anon, they created an excuse for there to be Tau in the very region where you say there can't be Tau, as you said 7 years ago.
So yes, if Owlcat wanted to, they could have Tau. You anon, are a moron for continuing to fight this.
You are a moron because you're caring about lore for a game designed to sell toys to adults.

Warhammer + Owlcat make a perfect combination of idiocy, jesus
Not that anon, just jumping in because you're unfathomably moronic.
Their whole argument is "The Tau are too far away from where the setting takes place."
How the frick can you not understand that? In the RPG you can be a Rogue Trader wherever you want, in this video game you are specifically in the Koronus Expanse, which doesn't have any Tau.
Not to mention the Tau are queers and so are you.
The supplement I posted made up a super special portal that lets Tau appear in the Koronus expanse. That's the joke anon.
To further explain the joke, it's GW doesn't give a shit.
THIS game takes place in the koronus expanse, moronbro.
Because tabletop is set wherever the frick you want?
Here is the full cover.
Wow! You're telling me that in 2014 they released a supplement aimed at a CRPG that would only be announced 7 years later and only released nearly a decade afterwards? That's some foresight.
>anon says lack of t'au in the region didnt stop tabletop from adding t'au >other anons say NO THIS GAME IS SET IN KORONUS EXPANSE TABLETOP DOESNT MATTER! >tabletop is also set in Koronus expanse
There is the quick rundown of the conversation since you are clearly not able to understand the conversation taking place. T'au should have had a companion. That is it.
I'm honestly kind of annoyed the only aliens we've seen are animals, eldar, and necrons.
Kronus expanse had lots of cool lesser aliens, freeboota fleets, and Kroot.

Making more xeno models costs too much money, please understand
don't expect a bunch of vitaliks to deliver a good game
if you aren't going to play as a fat frick robe-wearing nobleman lower your voice when you talk to me
Recommend me some 40k novels to prepare for this game.
Just got done listening to the eisenhorn novels.
Anything related to Ciaphas Cain.
Vaults of terra series
Cain series
Minka Lest series
Forges of mars series
Anything more specific?
Eisenhorn the entire series of novels.
Storm of Iron. It has absolutely nothing to do with anything in RT, but it's a great book and you should read it anyway.

Ciaphas cain, it's remarkable how consistent the writing has been.
Aren't you a rogue trader in this? Why would you wear power armor?
Im not the most knowledgeable about RT but i believe you had to use power armor from DH if your DM would allow it.
Power Armor is extremely protective but rare for humans in 40k. Thats why you only see Inquisitor Lords wearing it in 40k lore.
And SoB. And maybe some assassin types, can't remember.
The canon holders of power armor are:
Space Marines
Adeptus Mechanicus
Inquisitors
Sisters of Battle
Top 1% of Rogue Traders
Inquisitors, Imperial guard generals, Sisters of battle and of course people who are wealthy enough, such as planetary lords, nobles in general and Rogue traders.
>Imperial guard generals
Name one.
The fact we can't get any is kinda lame.
don't you need to have marine physique to use it?
there are armors for normal humans, too.
inquisitors and sisters of battle for example.
I'll just wait for Space Marine 2. I don't inherently dislike the idea of a RT CRPG. But I've never enjoyed Owlcat games and it's pretty obvious that that isn't going to change.
good, go play Fallout 4 then, they give powergoblins one right at the start.
Why would he?
Why wouldn't he?
He isn't a space marine.
moron, weaker power armor for humans exists, Sisters of Battle can wear them, as can Argenta in-game
terminator armor exists for baseline humans too. It just seems weird to have one of the most wealthy and connected (at least in theory) humans in 40k not having access to almost everything. Sure can't get marine relic tier stuff, but rogue traders deal in xenos shit as well as imperial all the time. If the rogue trader wants a baal-made melta pistol, or a set of ornate power armor, or terra forged lightning claws, or martian combat servitors, he should be able to, barring any gm shinanigans.
>weaker
Umm, sorry secondary-chuddy, but both basic sister and space marine PA is 3+ saves in tabletop.
it exists for the inquisition, not for glorified merchants
>literally in rulebooks
>one of arhetypes RT wear jade power armor
>"it's not exist for RT!!! Because.. Because i said so!!!"
Kek
no, not because he said so. because Owlkek said so. you can cope and seethe all you want, but you won't be getting the power armour
Why do you enjoy slurping the slop so much? It doesn't matter anyway, power armor is in, it's a matter of using toybox to allow your character to wear it
Just one of the many, many things you have to fix with mods because Owlcat is a fan of Bethesda
i don't give a shit about power armour because i wasn't gonna wear it anyway. if that's a dealbreaker to you, then you are free to not buy it. you will though all the while slurping your own tears and snot because you too can't help but consume
>you will though
lol
lmao
I don't buy video games
neither do I 🙂
nta and I know lorewise it isn't typical for rogue traders to have power armor but can't the richest ones get their hands on some via you know, trading?
Yeah, but they are rare.
Honestly, in RT's setting, if you can't access back the imperium, chances are you won't get a power armor if it's not already on footfall.
You have great armors anyway, with heavy xenomesh and shit, so i don't see the problem.
>Flop Trader
Odd choice. I understand not getting Astartes equipment, but there is no reason to lock players out of Sisters or just generic powered armor.
Yes there is, no fun allowed
Wartranners stay losing
cRPGs will never get a good game will we? Either the writing is complete shit or the gameplay is broken to having to wait years for a fix that just breaks something else
Just play old games
I recommend Pathfinder Kingmaker and Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, great games 🙂
>why can't I wear space marine gear when I'm a normal human rogue trader?
gee I wonder
see
There are power armor types other than Space marine armors.
https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Power_Armour#Ignatus_Power_Armour
https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Power_Armour#Inquisition
That's dumb, you're dumb. SoB and inquisitors aren't space marines yet you almost never see them without it
there's a rogue trader who walks around in jade inlaid power armor, we are the 1% that can afford it
Scarrok lied to us, he said we could, Owlcat lies...
did he? source?
Wouldn't surprise me if they were in but got cut
He didn't lie it just stopped being true at some point in development :^)
Owlshit devs constantly lie
More like owlcat planned to do it and got a big fat no from GW. Several instances of such a thing now, working with them must be a nightmare.
tut tut tut
What am I looking at? What was the change?
They had a banner ingame for backers that change official heraldy to their OCdonut steal logo and GW told them to change it. Instead backers get a fancy chair.
what backers? I thought this was funded by gw in its entirety. they didn't have kickstarter for rt
You can buy the game now and get early access to a beta. The beta is, of course, buggy shit.
it was more like pre-order the emperor dick sucking edition for a fancy banner and access to our alpha to help test the game
i don't understand what your picture means
why are GW such Black folk?
Starrok is the greatest scammer they have got, trained by a pajeet very likely
I don't know about GW being at fault, but its not unlikely it was cut
This board will find any stupid excuse to cry about why a game is shit
>This board will find any stupid excuse to cry about why a game is shit
I'm complaining about the lack of power armor for the player character, I never said the game was going to be shit, that's on you
Looking forward to this game tbh.
Enjoy playing half baked completely broken shit iced with spyware, dumb owlcattle
why would I want to? I want to wear posh looking robes and dusters like a nobleman that I man, not some grunt down in the mud
>RT will likely get a massive special snowflake treatment already and will swim in powerful artifacts as usual in Owlcat games
>can make yourself a living torch that runs around burning entire battlefields before the rest of your party can even get in
>NOO MY POWER ARMOR
>RT will likely get a massive special snowflake treatment already and will swim in powerful artifacts as usual in Owlcat games
At least in the beta you didn't get anything exciting.
>LasGun
>LasGun +1 damage
>LasGun +2 damage AND +1 to aim
The best and most unique thing was the gun you got after taking out the floating monster in act 3 and that was just an eldar machine gun equivalent with better stats.
+1 damage
+2 damage AND +1 to aim
i'll take that over larian's "when you fart get a stacking buff, once you have 5 stacks spend 3 to shit"
You can't even get all the equipment basic IG squads have access to.
>as usual in Owlcat games
You didn't play Kingmaker moron. In that game your character literally had nothing special beyond you being able to minmax if you want to. Hell Ekundayo and Nok-Nok could potentially be objectively better than you no matter what, depending on your build
It's in WotR where your character gets something unique to him
>your character literally had nothing special
yeah having a nation as your hands is small time
Gameplay-wise you autismo
>Let's blame it on IP owners, AGAIN
lol
GW are one of the biggest israelites out there you pathetic serf
because you're just a rookie up-and-comer Rogue Trader, you don't have the pull to get personalized power armor yet
Ah I see, so using that logic I assume we'll be like that the entire game then?
>have trade empire inherited
>have paper with sign of EMPEROR HIMSELF
>rookie up-and-comer
Nah. We get big inheritance.
>trade empire goes to shit and needs to be rebuilt because Owlcat needs to shoehorn in an annoying management minigame
>big paper does not come with money, connections, or influence
>Theodora didn't have power armor herself despite being a big-dick RT so she clearly didn't have the connections herself
The writ of trade goes a long way, but it doesn't give carte blanche access to the entirety of the Imperium's resources like the Inquisition.
Do you realize the mental gymnastics you're making for what is obviously cut content?
See
actually looking back through the thread, that's the only actual sourced information about the topic. OP never posted a source or even a screenshot, and Google doesn't show anything about it.
Here. Also
>several companions can
For all the morons trying to use the "B-BUST IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE TOO RARE" logic lol
>several companions
Maybe you can turn Jae into a Necron to improve her personality?
I bet Jae gets power armour
just to rub it in
I like how the response to Jae being unappealing is to give even more dev favoritism not understanding that the character itself sucks.
>Radio silence after this post
Anon you can't just bully /vrpg/ shills like this
well, there you go. Shame. I'd assume "several companions" translates to "literally just the Space Yiff and Argenta," though
Before this thread I thought you had to be grown in a vat and have the gene seed to even get some power armour
Literally had to google who this was, completely forgot
Will my wife get power armor too?
She already regens 1/2 to 1/3 her HP every round
With higher HP than the main CON Tank
With 95% Dodge
All at ~level 8 barely after you recruit her
She doesn't it, tbh
She can actually go naked even
>letting your wife walk around naked
ISHYGDDT
You left out that she also gets recruited with the best bodyglove in the Beta, gets two powerful navigator staves, and the OP as frick Ripper autopistol.
Also she can easily become the main party face and loremaster.
Cass lookin' very blammable there.
Plappable*
Power armor for Space Marine, Pasqal, and Argenta. One is space marine only, the other is Admech only, the Third technically anyone could wield but for "lore reasons" it's likely Argenta only.
You can get the admech to run a forgeworld for you. Which, surprisingly, still doesn't get you anything better than a fancy hammer and a shitty tiny secondary vessel for the ship combat, iirc.
The beta also stopped getting updates like 3 weeks after its release. Act 3 was still a broken garbage fire of unfinished content at that point.
Couldn't even get past act 1 because I went for the fish first. That locks you out of the Act 1 boss and I couldn't be arsed to start again.
It's all right, I enjoyed it, just not expecting it to be anything but a decent RPG with a million bugs
>Couldn't even get past act 1 because I went for the fish first. That locks you out of the Act 1 boss and I couldn't be arsed to start again.
I did that in the initial beta release and made it to the second act. Did they break it with one of the patches?
>shitty tiny secondary vessel for the ship combat, iirc
That is extremely useful since it fricks the AI.
This looks like a genuine downgrade from Wrath of the Righteous and despite probably having a third of the overall content when you take all the mythic paths into account it'll still be a shoddy mess on release and cost $50.
mythic paths were effectively one questline, and half of them were incredibly anemic
I will never understand people who cream themselves over muh mythic paths
angel has pretty good content and it's the best power fantasy in vidya by far
Because without them the games are even less replayable than they already are
Can't wait for the Ganker threads when the game releases. for some reason schizos flock to owlkek games like flies to honey
Fish impregnation
>OwlcatDefenseForce is here
Can't wait for mental gymnastics and waifu spam!
Are jokaeros confirmed yet?
So what's our relationship with theodora? she our grandma or something?
Very distant relative (who might've been a userper to the bloodline and not actually reated to you or the Von Velantius at all).
Seventh cousin or seventh degree of separation according to the alpha iirc
She's your father.
SHE'S BODY TYPE 1??????
Nah, just worshipped too much Slaanesh and became a dickgirl.
The closer to release the more cut content.
Also the latest version available to streamers is still missing the final two acts, as well as random stuff, like for the companions
Do they normally cut it so close?
Anon, they're still finishing WOTR...
WotR was finished once it came out, what they're releasing now is just DLC, and it's not even the same team that's making RT
The Citadel DLC should have been in the game from the beginning. Act 5 was a rushjob.
>WotR was finished once it came out
Yeah I really liked how half the feats did absolutely nothing and you could softlock your save by sneezing wrong.
an entire mythic path that was a huge part of the advertising just straight up didn't work at WOTR's launch
>an entire mythic path that was a huge part of the advertising just straight up didn't work at WOTR's launch
Remember the enhanced edition they hyped up with some love for the shitty late game mythics and then they did nothing. lul
>>an entire mythic path that was a huge part of the advertising just straight up didn't work at WOTR's launch
Which one?
Not that anon but I think it was swarm?
The Lich one was broken if you picked the auto crusade mode since it wouldn't let you build the temple you needed to progress.
I wouldn't call that broken, the whole auto-crusade thing is for morons who don't actually want to play WotR.
The campaign itself was fricked because if you had skellies or zombies in your armies, you couldn't bring those back, meaning your reinforcements gto fricked.
Good thing i had fireball guy on duty, or i'd have been stuck on the campaign.
crusade mode is terrible and wanting to skip it to get back to the actual game makes you smart
>do they usually cut it so close
No, but usually the games are kickstarter dependant so having the whole game be playable as a sort of early access is a good thing to generate cash and feedback by the people giving you cash
>GW boogeyman
I guess now we wait for their official statement 'lol we never said power armor is off-limits' or just email them and askem if it's true
Better than Larian.
Shit vs Feces
Nah.
Oh nonono Owlkeks

I fricking love Argenta, sisters are some good shit.
Shame she chose to be celiabte but I guess her vows take priority.
Oh well, 10/10 will smite the enemies of Mankind with.
neat!
Sex with sob
Body Type sisters....
You need the all powerful Y gene.
>The Allfather was a man
>WAS
Heretic bastard.
There's no way that line will still be in the game on release.
How did Owlcat manage to mindbreak so many people so hard?
Mad because their knight waifu wasn't a virgin
I refuse to believe that some people have been letting this game live rent free in their heads for five years now just because the developers wanted to let an ending remain ambiguous to appeal to more people.
I said that it was because she wasn't a virgin not because of the ending (that helped too, though)
90% of the spam is from that one single guy who fell in love with a video game character and got literally mindbroken by the fact that she had fictional sex before. He's been banned from /vg/ for a reason, you know.
What the frick? Tell me more about this simp.
have you ever seen the Wife Scholar? That guy.
Nope, I only hang around civ4xg on /vg/.
Are you making shit up or is that autist the one who also shitposts nonstop? Because I doubt it
I'm PRETTY sure Valanon and Wife Scholar are the same person but I admittedly didn't spend a ton of time in /ocg/
admittedly it doesn't take much to mindbreak a Gankerirgin schizo
Owlcat is a pozzed developer and 40k is a pozzed franchise.
Is this game set pre or post papa smurf waking up?
Who cares, none of it will come up.
None of that would matter since we're right along the edge of the Frontier in the Expanse.
But apparently its post Rob getting his ass out of bed.
the Space Yiff isn't a Primaris so presumably before
841.m41
So, before.
Owlcuck lied, people died
Who cares, that shits stupid rare for anyone but a space marine. Can I at least get a metal tentacle? Dendrite.. mechandrite or w.e the frick 40k calls em.
No, you aren't a mechanicus and you can't play as one.
The classes are:
Guardsman
Commisar
Noble
Smuggler
Priest
Psyker (sanctioned).
You do have one in your team though, I'm mostly annoyed you don't get an Ogryn or a Squat to chill with.
>that shits stupid rare for anyone but a space marine
Stop repeating this nonsense
he's right, only the tippy-top tier of RTs and Inquisitors can get it
who fricking knows why it was cut (or if it was ever in to begin with and Starrok was just talking out of his ass like a good little marketer), but a reasonable lore explanation exists for why (You) can't get it.
>but a reasonable lore explanation exists for why (You) can't get it
Again,
What nonsense is this? You can afford power armor for companions, but for your RT? nuh uh, no can do
I'm pretty sure that post refers to the space marine and argenta, who come already armored.
I would bet money that you only get the Space Wolf and Argenta's power armor through quests, you don't just stroll up to a Forgeworld and place an order.
>"several"
>referring to two characters
Right, if you say so, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because they're ruskies
who else in the party would reasonably be able to wear power armor?
Any human, that's the entire point
your point is moronic because you're reading way too much into "several"
Are you fricking stupid? What part of any human should be able to wear it do you not understand? There is no excuse for Argenta being the only one, Abelard or Heinrix should be able too, and above all else, your character should be able
Retinues never get power armor unless they're from a faction that wears it as standard, this is basic 40K TTRPG stuff
I used my brain for like 3 seconds and figured out why they decided not to include power armour then stopped thinking about it. It's crazy to me that two years from now you will still be showing up to threads to complain about this.
bootlicker
>being oppressed by big company is when there is no power armor in my game
Ok bootlicker
He probably thought there was nothing wrong with heavy armor being trash in WotR compared to being naked, not worth arguing with
we're supposed to be one of the top dynasties in the sector but again
>stuck with a poverty boat
You're not allowed to customize stuff in general. You can't decide on the equipment of your guards or your crew, how the main characters quarters look or anything.
>still completely unable to differentiate between a skrillex sidecut and a mohawk
>Owltroony
Why do all the fluff texts in owlcat games always use she as third person?
This has been explained one gorillion times, it's because they use the pronouns of the iconic character's gender that represents that class
You homosexuals are so mindbroken by something being pozzed or not that you automatically forget about all the hims or hes
So why isnt said character just mentioned by name?
.... Why would it be?
>Play paladin
>The description constantly mentions Seelah
Imagine how much of a clusterfrick that would be
because seeing a random name of a character that isn't in the game would be weirder than just a pronoun
>all
Only those that are like that in the tabletop.
They just copy pasted the tabletop description for classes into the game.
I want to be a Sister of Battle so bad bros
Same bro.
I want you both to be Sisters of Battle, so I can bathe in your blood and wear your skins as protection from Chaos.
I don't get it.
If women can't be Space Wolves marines, are they all just test tube babies?
Who is giving birth to them
they are regular people who underwent genetic treatment
Damnation Crusade tho
sauce me
READ.
Jokes on you, the non space marines in that picture are all ages 8-11.
Completely depends on the fricking chapter.
SMs are canonically not castrated and I want to shoot whatever moron first started this castration meme.
then empror is a moron
They're big hairy men that do masculine male things in an all male convent, being handpicked chosen by burly Space marines from the best of the tribe. After training they drink a big gulp of Russ' geneseed and become wulfen Space Marines, even burlier and harrier manly men that are doomed to become actual furries that will be ridden by their fellow battle brothers.
That sounds extremely gay, especially what with the biggest women haters also being gay
Geneseed requires the male hormonal landscape to work properly.
HIGH MOMENTUM
>Daring breach
>Single-handedly disembowel every single enemy on the map
I love the melee in this game, especially since the sound design really lets you feel the power behind your strikes.
>Daring Breach
>Kill enough people for Cassia to use her ult on you again.
>Beat the boss to death with your bare hands.
>Devs lie straight to your face
>Tards ignore it or go 'hurr who cares' or desperately try to steer the thread in other direction
Name bigger doormats
It's actually fricking pathetic the sheer damage control morons are doing here, and I like Owlcat games
All devs lie because all devs cut content/change their mind, whatever
Larian's 17k ending are nowhere to be seen. I don't care, it's normal for things to change over years of development. All I want is for the game to be good, they can say whatever the frick they want on online forums as long as the final product is something I enjoy
Pokemon fans
>No Ork crewman
>no orks to murder
Yeah, it's unfortunate.
>No freeboota to fight alongside
Stoopid gits at owlcat!
Ork DLC
>a few planets with orks and ork themed problems
>can recruit a a gretchin, an attack squig, a freebooter, a Mek, and a kommando
All they'd have to do is repeat this process for each different faction and they'd be rolling in the dough.
>even rarer
>Inquisition has access to it
>Ecclesiarchy has access to it
>Admech as access to it
>Squats have access to it
>Knight households have access to it
>even certain high ranked Imperial Guardmen have access to it
The frick are you on about? It's undeniably more plentiful for non marines.
>I'd be extremely surprised if they didn't add more characters through DLC. It's basically like printing money.
For some reason Owlcat is allergic to making DLC people actually want.
>Inquisition has access to it
A handful of people among countless billions
>Ecclesiarchy has access to it
That is an exception, yes
>Admech as access to it
No shit, they're the ones that manufacture it
>Squats have access to it
Not human
>Knight households have access to it
Closely allied to Mechanicus, and pilot knights which are even more rare than power armor
>even certain high ranked Imperial Guardmen have access to it
Even Lords Solar wear carapace armor, not power armor
>A handful of people among countless billions
this also describes rogue traders though so not sure what your argument is
>this also describes rogue traders though so not sure what your argument is
Rogue Traders don't possess a level of authority even close to that of an inquisitor with a high enough rank to requisition power armor
Wow, so the companions from factions with access to power armor might have power armor? Mind blowing.
>The companions that serve the Rogue Trader have access to it
>But the Rogue Trader doesn't
The bootlicking in this thread has been off the charts
Rogue Traders are also a faction with access to power armor or even more rare xenotech.
The big thing is unlimited access to xenotech.
several Rogue Traders already have power armor in the lore though so still not sure what your argument is
>Squats have access to it
>Not human
oh no no Votaann bros!?
Makes sense of they mean astartes PA because you can't interface with it. There are PA that normal people can use but they are even rarer and much more cumbersome.
>but they are even rarer
rare and expensive.
but a rogue trader is the 1% of the 1%, they have the resources to get power armor.
>even rarer
No
There are roughly 1 million astartes in the era the game is set
There's easily at least 10 times that in the SoB alone.
Having a fricking contract signed by the emperor himself would have 90% of space marines and inquisition bending over to suck your balls for a glance at it
no lol, the Inquisition are on a level above Rogue Traders. Rogue Traders are actually near the top of the Inquisition's suspicious individuals list because they interact with xenos all the time.
it was over the day they added that israelite spyware to pathfinder
elaborate.
they added "marketing software" in some random update that gave you no option to opt out, pretty sure it was gathering way too much information for "marketing software" and uproar made them roll it back within 24 hours. the community managers get fully butthurt if you bring it up
so it's gone already?
that's a relief, i literally just bought the pathfinders.
>relief
these morons may add it again why would you even buy from them after that lmao
i don't have auto update on so i'll be fine.
i'll have to keep an eye out for this bullshit in rogue trader though.
How many vpns are you running on your burner notebook that uses exclusively public wifi?
Yeah it's gone. It was just telemetry like what Pillars and BG3 have, but they put it in without asking which is what caused the stink.
>but they put it in without asking which is what caused the stink
also they're russian
Just some shitty telemetry to know what content the players do, what builds they use, etc. The kind of shit any dev does, but they added it in a patch randomly without telling anything it and it looked like malware. They removed it in the patch right afterwards
They added literal spyware that tracked your browser use without any opt in and modified the EULAl, backlash was massive so they quickly removed it and begged for forgiveness in steam forums.
BASED frick power armor homosexuals you need to be raped by Drukhari
>Wanting people to get raped by a dog.
Anon, what have they ever done to you?
can't rape the willing
Drukhari will find a way anon.
Their continued existance literally relies on finding new and innovative ways to rape somebody.
Sometimes they make new holes to frick mataphysically because they all have mind powers.
Oftentimes they slice you up, splice your DNA with a dog and then frick that infront of you.
They're fricking freaks.
Kill on sight.
You literally get your origin and homeworld
Hoping not on the troony end tbh. If we are lucky, that was just paizo being pozzed.
Romance writing will not be improved, that is a certainty.
I have a feeling that female romances in this game may be a shitshow, aside from maybe Fish. Owlcat has already they're doing something different with Yrilet and Jae just screams "Why?"
I rarely do romances in crpgs so I won't see the depths of it. But I will enjoy seeing the reactions from various waifu-gays kek
Are you the same autist that was crying about this on /vrpg/?
Nobody uses /vrpg/
This is not a unique perspective on Owlcat's shitty writing. I remember Kingmaker required you to be a disturbing cuck to bang the warrior chick too.
>Calling a woman beautiful is being a "disturbing cuck"
Classic Ganker
Go back
What is correct flirting dialogue to you?
>People are creeped out by mutants 🙁
>And they should be, you ugly b***h.
>Ohhhh~ Rogue Trader-sama 😉
Most anons are ugly so they associate the problem being with "what" they said rather than realizing the problem was "who" said it.
Those lines work if you're an ubermensch giga turbo chad like a Rogue Trader though
>and your first dialogue choice is literally "They just can't appreciate your beauty like I can."
Nah she's cute and I've liked her design since she was revealed, you're a gay sorry
From the moment she was first posted, everyone recognized her as a waifu.
Her file is (was) even called, such waifu.
I played the beta too tbh but I didn't try romancing anyone.
What sort of behavior were you expecting from someone whose first reaction to seeing an autistic, inbred fish mutant is to start flirting?
what anime?
Blue Submarine No. 6
>cute fish girl ends up with moron shark rapist
madness
Based slavs dabbing on romance homosexualry
It's always funny to read posts like these, desperately trying to pretend Owlcat aren't all a bunch of coomers
Owlcat is literally the only reason anyone is excited for this game.
I'm only excited because it's Rogue Trader and I have a love obsession with the tabletop despite never having played it.
>if you want to have sex you need to flirt with the social acuity of Chris-Chan
True IRL too.
>tfw Chris-chan has more game than most anons ITT
I mean I probably could rape a decrepit old woman if I really wanted to
You could keep a stiffy through that? Not judging but...
Source?
Because if so that's total fricking gay bullshit.
Fricking dropped. You can't romance the sororitas, you can't wear power armor, gay buttfrick eldar companion. Worst chapter of space marine as companion.
>Worst chapter of space marine as companion.
Come on man, it's not a marine malevolent.
Save the BT for a Dark Heresy or Impirium Maledictum game.
We will never have Wrath or Glory and the ability to drink hard with a Primaris marine.
Would be neat to get a Salamander, but if you do, you can't get any eldar companions.
the scorpions in this are just screaming "y-you too" to me and it's fricking hilarious
I was under the impression that the RT's house in this game was basically in the shitheap or something.
Even shitheap RT houses can scrounge enough moolah for decent equipment thus there is still little reason for the lack of equipable PA.
You are told two things:
Your dynasty is one of the more successful in the Expanse and you have a lot of assets to work with.
All of these assets are under constant attack and scrutiny.
Given what your predecessor was like, its sensible that you have a lot of shit to clean and that your dynasty was closer to failing than your Senerchal realised.
Being a shitty RT house or family still comes with wealth that could put most other people to shame in 40k I'm pretty sure. It wouldn't be impossible for them to get one powered armor suit.
Wait for the DLC when Owlcat realizes they fricked up.
Then watch the owlcat simps fellate them because they finally added good shit like orks and playable power armor.
>Owlcat DLC
>good shit
The 2 Roguelike DLCs were fun since they could also be done on Main Campaign
Yes but it's something obscene like 80 or so
the roguelike DLCs are terrible, though
>Yes but it's something obscene like 80 or so
How much character building can you fit in that level cap?
It's one main stat level up or one skill level up per level (alternates) every couple levels you get one perk, every couple more levels you get an ultimate upgrade.
Imagine taking dnd's 20 levels and removing the power spikes to instead give a more steady growth of leveling all the way to endgame.
that still makes you wealthier than 99.9999999% of living people
That's not really a comparison when outside of planetary aristocracy, 99.99% of people are living in what are practically prison cells if not just barracks or shanty towns.
Those don't count as people. Those are resources.
You're a successful house but your previous leader made a bunch of deals with chaos to become even more successful, so now your lands are exploding because chaos, and because of that the Eldar think it would be a fun torture party slot, and the inquisiiton has questions, but they also want to play with the necrons.
And basically you're moronic.
Half of the first founding are literally who, BA, DA and SW are the only ones that have any kind of personality and development. It would be funny to see Ganker screeching over Salamander Black person though, i would give you that.
Having a Salamander along would be great though.
He'd be living it fricking large in act 3, all promethium all the time!
You're locked to a marine who would be cool with some weird shit. A lot of chapters would not be cool with weird shit. Space Wolves are probably the coolest about weird shit out of the first founding chapters, but I'm surprised they didn't go for a fan service pick like Blood Ravens or Lamenters.
Pretty sure they can't use Blood Ravens at all due to IP shenanigans.
Fair enough. A dedicated BT game could be cool.
>A dedicated BT game could be cool.
May be possible since Chaosgate Daemonhunter did pretty well and was positively recieved.
Grey Knights are cool but I want to see DT's do their thing and we may soon be able to.
I've actually wondered how the rights for Blood Ravens work. Are they owned by Relic? The defunct THQ? Sega? Games Workshop? Is it some fricked up DK64 situation where they're owned by four companies at once?
As far as I can tell the Blood Ravens were made specifically for Dawn of War so that Relic could do their own thing with the characters.
Blood Ravens are Relic's homebrew chapter. It would be weird for another company to use them.
Blood Ravens existed long before Relic made Dawn of War. Relic selected them as the game's chapter because they were obscure and not being used anywhere else but they did NOT create them. GW has full ownership of them and have made several official miniatures of BR characters, along with including them in some japanese collab merchandise like the advent calender
>Blood Ravens existed long before Relic made Dawn of War.
prove it.
Lamenters wouldn't work, because that marine would cause all of your rolls to end in failures and when you win, you would immediatedly get slapped down by reality/bad luck.
Best Chapter would have been the Salamanders, because the Space Marine being benevolentia alignment would have been hilarious.
>You can't romance the sororitas
last time someone romanced a Sister, there was the biggest civil war since the Horus Heresy.
There was a civil war because the Imperium couldn't handle a man of such culture.
Can't decide if I should play my irl self, a 6'2 physical gient male with an above average wiener, or a female drukarii bawd who bends over backwards to please her master.
The duality of man...
As far as I can tell you can only play as a human.
You can get a drukharii bawd sniper into your entourage tough.
God I want the fem commisar to give me the emperors peace.
what archetypes are in?
Fire Warrior DLC when?
Realistically, if they hadn't lezzed out, the Imperial Guard is fricking dead here.
You should should shoot them both Commissar, by the emperor I've seen the pics, if only holy fire could burn out my eyes and scorch my memory...
two left hands
The warp taint is unmistakeable
Well yeah, her own fault for grabbing the hair instead of restricting either of the tau's arms, leaving both free to grip and steady the pistol. Also forgoing the standard issue flak vest.
Women in the military am I right?
fricking imagine having this image saved holy shit
boy the smell you emante must be revolting carrying this image around
is a strategic rpg, is not like you would feel like a space marine
Dodgetanks win again.
Okay, so what is Rogue Trader guilty of from that image?
>it's the "I know how to be smooth with women, these devs know nothing" autist again
>You can wear a halo device but not some power armor made for normal sized people
That's it, gonna eat everyone in my crew now!
>>You can wear a halo device
w-what?
Check the thread mentioned in the post I replied to, someone found a steam achievement mentioning wearing one.
Jurisdiction and right in 40k is 100% "good ol' boy" rules. Just because someone has technical authority over something doesn't mean shit most of the time. It's why diplomacy is an incredibly valuable skill for an Inquisitor even if on paper they wouldn't need it because walking into someone's house and swinging your dick around is a great way to go missing or be "killed in action." While official actions can take decades or centuries, pissing off the wrong person can bring a very quick end to your "limitless authority."
>can't romance the sister
>no spess armour
it was joever from the beginning, they've learned nothing from WotR
Two of your companions can wear power armor. Meaning it already has stats and models in the game.
So I would expect a mod for giving your RT power armor will be out within less than a month of release.
Toybox already has an option to allow you to wear gear without requirements
is there a psyker companion?
Heinrix (sanctioned) and Idira (unsanctioned)
two? oh boy that ship is fricked
Three, if you count the rogue trader.
not really. some ships have their own astropath choires, and that's literally dozens of psykers.
Is it wrong that those two have my favorite dynamic in the game? The other companions never seem to talk to each other
Sometimes it feels as if I'm the only person who likes the Jamaican schizo wizard, good to know that other people can also appreciate her.
She's actually great, just hard to slot in and she falls off hard in usefulness in the Beta.
I'll probably respecc her into an argenta-like build since it wouldn't make sense for me to keep Argenta in my main party as a not-so-subtle chaos worshipper.
Good thing Heinrix isn't a woman or moron here would be crying about cuckoldry
what's this? two owlcat companions who actually try and help eachother instead of seething and insulting 24/7? what a rarity!
>Always picks the buttholes that never get along with each other
>Complains that they're seething 24/7
No SoB romance no buy
more fish pussy for the rest of us
I accidentally paid for this game twice because Owljew's website wasn't working properly and their "customer service" is literally ghosting me over £30.
chargeback that shit
Can I get your second key?
Paid twice for one copy, anon.
I'm trying
Does it really matter when the armor you wear doesn't even affect how you look?
It doesn't?
nvm apparently there was just a default outfit thing when I played but armor does appear on your body now
what's your appearance based off? just class? I bet they all look fricking moronic if the kingmaker and wotr art direction is anything to go by
>that anon who already has access to the full game due to influencer/reviewer status
They lied to you
Do Space Marines even have dicks or are they just worthless raising shooting blank balls
they're sterile because the Emperor didn't want them outcompeting normal humans
They do have dicks though its pretty much just space wolves that use them. They can't reproduce though.
Are their dicks bigger like the rest of them or just normal human sized though
Are we sure they meant all sorts of mechanized armor or just specifically Space Marine-esque power armor? I can see GW stepping in for that latter thing.
Lore question: if the Emperor was so opposed to religion, why did he decorate everything like a Roman Catholic Cathedral?
>why did he decorate everything like a Roman Catholic Cathedral?
Because gothic architecture looks awesome.
Superior aesthetics.
It was more Greece when he was in charge.
lots of homosex?
Don't even know why they bothered with the regular ass human companions, everyones party is going to be Cassia, Argenta, Pasqal, Yrilet, and Ulfar. Maybe Abelard for being a bro.
Every single character you mentioned is human except for Yrliet
>regular ass
I'm talking about people like Heinrix, Idira, and Jae who no one is going to care about
do you know what happens to psykers
what's the party size again?
Six, same as always
How the frick are an inquisitor and an unsanctioned psyker "regular ass"
this is like going OH MY GOD A WIZARD in a fantasy setting, be real
Then Argenta is what? OH MY GOD A CLERIC. And Yrliet is literally an elf (in space)
Argenta wears power armor and people love elves
People love wizards too, what's your point
wizards aren't so special when everyone has access to stuff that feels and looks like magic. But feel free to surprise me when the game comes out and Idira turns out to be the most used character in the game I guess
Psykers get a bullet in the skull
>but Inquisitor
he's just a retinue jobber, not an actual Inquisitor AND he's a heretic
How's he a heretic?
getting a little TOO interested in all the Chaos business going on with your house
He's an Inquisitorial toadie. Of course he's interested in chaos shit, it's his fricking job.
there's a line and he crosses it
it's alright i won't tell anyone. but he'll have to put out
You need some normalcy to contrast the others or you end up with some sunday morning diversity cartoon where everyone is wacky and unique
Because that went so well for Sosiel
I mean, if they kept the same personality but made Sosiel a white elven woman you can bet he would be the most popular choice by far
>moronic ragetard gambler with a brother complex
Unattractive and peak cuckbait
Reminder he even has a Virginity Counter in the game's files
Buck Status?
broken beyond belief. No seriously you have no idea how hard you can break him
are you sure about that?
Jokes on you, I will switch companions.
Abelard is purpose built to be the tankiest character in the game. Ulfar is now a Gunner like Argenta (forma Arch Militant) so he'll (probably) never reach the level of tankiness as Abelard.
I feel sad for games like this now that BG3 has damaged the space these used to occupy
honestly can't wait for owlcat to be over with this mediocre shit and start working on the next pathfinder game
>can't wait for owlcat to be over with this mediocre shit and start working on the next mediocre shit
>can they release product so I can get excited for next product?
>cumsooooooooooooom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reminder it's even easier to break than Pathfinder due to Extra Turn stacking and Heroic Measures
as long as it isn't so buff/prep heavy, I dont mind
that doesn't really sound like a problem
Yeah but the game will be "balanced" around the assumption that the player will use every buff/exploit for every battle. See WOTR
I mean, that's what the Officer Archetype is for, and you can spam all their shit every round
Anon if it's anything like beta, there is nothing they can throw at you to stop you once your party gets going.
Which edition are they basing it off of?
rt only had one edition. The first one
>Ulfar is shit in melee
what the frick
non-Astartes power armor is just cope anyway, should be retconned out
Human power armor has always just been motorized carapace armor with delusions of grandeur.
Is it possible to tank the corrupting effect of a halo device?
I think its more like kicking the can down the road, you will always end up being a gross motherfricker at some point.
Yes. be a sister of battle who are immune to corruption
Absolutely anon, I promise. Now, put on the device.
Good
Yes
No, but buffing in battle, although it's very fast
No idea, but you can go Heretical Chaos
No
Dec 5th
So if i understand correctly, psykers just get a full power melee options (force weaponry) as a bonus to their already powerful caster skill set?
Doesn't this make a psyker by far the most powerful progression path in the game?
yeah but also your head explodes if you roll poorly
Psyker is garbo early on, it takes until level 10 to get Psy Rating 1 for Main Character and 95% of Powers scaled based on that so you deal shit damage and buff like shit as well, then it's level 20 for Psy 2.
You literally start with 0 Psy Rating
And if you use an Unsanctioned Psyker companion like Idira I hope you enjoy having Wild Magic effects that are always prejudicial happen with high chances even on the first spell she casts in battle, including summoning high HP Daemons that just rape you
>Psykers summon free EXP bags every time they do something awesome.
tfw no lobotimzed nid to use as pet/attack dog
WHERE THE FRICK IS MY KRIEG GAME ALREADY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8EEDoEQTBE
https://www.moddb.com/mods/trench-foot-wip
It's not exactly what you wanted, but its better than nothing.
Is there a level cap?
wait for dlc, cyka blyat
Any characters in the lore that were corrupted by xeno pussy?
that's what a genestealer cult is.
there was also a half eldar space marine librarian in older lore.
Roboute Guilliman is probably going to bang a dark elf, currently in a will-they-won't-they thing.
there are enough humans defecting to the tau empire for there to be a human auxiliary in their armies.
Off the top of my head
>a Deldar Wytch admittedly that she found a member of the Salamanders to be quite handsome
>a separate Deldar Wytch was fricking a human on a nearly daily basis in the book Nightbringer
>an entire Deldar Wytch Coven loves Lucius the Eternal and even hang out with him on a semi regular basis
>ADB's cringy Black Legion character Iskandar Khayon loves his Deldar gf so much that he beat up a Keeper of Secrets and brought her back to life
>Belisarius Cawl has a Necron gf that he's trying to convince to help him with his plans
If we count daemons then
>there's a former world eater member of the Black Legion that has a khornate daemonette gf that sucks his blood and helps him ascend to daemonhood in the Creed book
>there's a big titty older sister nun that seduced a child into worshipping Slaanesh by giving him head pats, lap pillows, and singing him to sleep. The big reveal at the end of the story is that she's actually a daemonette with her true form being a snake woman. Centuries later, she'sstill singing this kid (now a noise marine) to sleep. Yes, this is canon. Yes, this all actually happened. It's in the short story A Song for the Lost.
So DEldar are bawds and CWEldar are prudes?
Craftworlders are basically Amish, they broke off from mainstream Eldar society to do their own thing.
Mainstream eldar society were such enormous bawds that they accidentally summoned a chaos god of bawdtery that destroyed their empire. Dark Eldar are the remnants of that empire and they have to do ever more debaucherous acts of lechery or else their soul gets eaten by Slaanesh.
don't all of their souls belong to slanesh regardless of what they do, period?
Yes but that's their souls getting eaten at some indeterminate future point if/when they die. If deldar stop torturing people they get slurped within days to weeks.
>all the deldar prostitutes lusting after human men
deldar """""males"""""" confirmed to have tiny peepees
They don't, they just know they can get tight Human slave chicks by the half dozen for a fraction of what it would cost to score a DEldar woman.
>prefer tight virgins to roastie prostitutes
all men are the same regardless of race
It's simple really.
>DEldar bawd is high maintenance, will plot to backstab you, will be carrying numerous designer made STDs to make your dick explode, will constantly complain about the quality of your palace even though she was literally born in a test tube and dumped in a gutter
>Human slave will do whatever you say without question, will never complain (unless you want her to), can be given to a Haemonculus to be altered how you see fit, can be easily tossed out a window and replaced the moment she displeases you, and doesn't even need to be paid
>that last story
GIWTWM
i should read the Creed book.

What DND edition this game follows?
it's time for little DnD baby birds to leave the nest
None, it's the d100 system from the Fantasy Flight 40k RPGs.
Act 3 is a complete mess of missing text, quests, characters and broken triggers.
no, just play Expeditions Rome or something while you wait
What builds for a good time I heard it can be very hard
>to get an alien pet you have to recruit Jae
noooo
That things probaby fricks Jae too
Which girl is most likely to engage in /ss/?
So do I wait a year to play this or has Owlcat managed to provide a proper game for release?
According to the e-shills it's in a much better state than wotr at release
But until december 7 you won't really find out
the e-shills for wotr didn't even notice half the feats did literally nothing. I'm not holding my breath.
>on the topic of disguising the party in Cultist Robes
Wait why did they change the names for the convictions?
What's the name of the cherub like creatures
cherub
Not even light power armour? That's pretty dumb imo. If it's supposed to be that we're too poor to buy it even by the end-game are they going to restrict all the other equipment of "very rare" rarity too? No plasma weapons or power swords or even non-pistol bolters?
No, just the fun stuff. So no grav weapons, disintegrators, power fists, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, etc.
>used goods
>the deldar's used goods, at that
pls be slaanesh, it would be better than being moronic
A-anon? Wrong reply!?
You know that grav gun liked it, the bawd
sorry cuz, append "as me" to the end of that post
Not even grenade launchers? Damn.
I'm going to romance Jae and there's nothing anons can do
Well, that's better than Yrliet at least.
I won't stop you from eating shit if that's want you want to do, you're a grown man
Is it going to be another owlcat game where you have to minmax every single fricking encounter or can you just do whatever seems fun?
yes to both
you can just lower the difficulty if you're not familiar with the game.
>Plays on a difficulty that warns him about the difficulty beforehand
>WOOOW why is this game so hard? Why do I have to minmax.
Just don't be stupid and play on normal. Although rogue trader is easier than the pathfinder games, so even the higher difficulties shouldn't be too hard.
Rogue Trader isn't very rule intensive, so the game is only vaguely based on its rules.
This is Owlcat essentially making up their own shit using Rogue Trader as a framework. Judging it based on how the RPG functions is moronic because it's all ultimately up to the Owlcat's own discretion on how they want it balanced.
I have played the beta, that's what I'm basing my comments on.
Here you go moron bro:
>Melee characters max WS, and AGI or CON.
>Ranged characters max BS and AGI
Now here's where it gets really complex!
>Officers max Fellowship (and Willpower iirc.)
>Agents max Intelligence and Perception!
>Marksmen max the same as ranged!
>Fighters max the same as Melee! (but also strength if they don't go assassin)
You now have a minmaxed character! Yay!!!!
Apparently some other dev said you can in fact wear power armor so I dont know who to believe
Why the frick would there not be a T'au companion? Gameplay wise they would be loads of fun and perfect for this.
>Glass cannon ranged specialist
>Drones for all kinds of uses
>Crisis Suits
>Can react to players moral choices in a T'au way
Tau are literally on the other side of the Galaxy you fricking dipshit
Didn't stop tabletop.
Because tabletop is set wherever the frick you want?
It has an entire section for "why the frick are there Tau in the Expanse" anon. Then there's the Comorragh adventure book that has Tau appear as slaves.
Lol, lmao.
THIS game takes place in the koronus expanse, moronbro.
So does that supplement gigatard fren.
Wow! You're telling me that in 2014 they released a supplement aimed at a CRPG that would only be announced 7 years later and only released nearly a decade afterwards? That's some foresight.
Here is the full cover.
>anon says lack of t'au in the region didnt stop tabletop from adding t'au
>other anons say NO THIS GAME IS SET IN KORONUS EXPANSE TABLETOP DOESNT MATTER!
>tabletop is also set in Koronus expanse
There is the quick rundown of the conversation since you are clearly not able to understand the conversation taking place. T'au should have had a companion. That is it.
I'm honestly kind of annoyed the only aliens we've seen are animals, eldar, and necrons.
Kronus expanse had lots of cool lesser aliens, freeboota fleets, and Kroot.
Making more xeno models costs too much money, please understand
I purge this thread in the name of the God-Emperor our undying lord.
