It's pretty much identical, even the flow of the build game is the same. It has all the usual funny illnesses but there's a lot more to do in this game. If you like TH then you'll like this too.

I liked Evil Genius 2. Too bad it flopped and didn't get more content after the final genius dropped.
What are these types of base building games called?

      Anonymous

      Simulators.

      Anonymous

Management Sims is the closest to a proper genre name but it would be helpful to have a name that distinguishes the kind of ones that specifically have little people running around and a bit of a dark sense of humour to it. Without just calling them Dungeon Keeper-likes or whatever.

      Anonymous

Part of the reason it flopped was Denuvo. The other part was apparently it made you wait around doing nothing even more than the original.

I'm part of the people that dropped it thanks to Denuvo despite being a big EG1 fan.

If the second part is also true, then it was a guaranteed formula to frick over the game. The first one already had too much waiting. This one, I'm told, makes it even worse and fricks with the heat system to make it several times worse than the old one. I'm told that heat is inevitable and all you really do is wait for them to raid your base and then get back down to 0 heat. Mostly uncontrollable. Then they force you to lose minions on every job forcing you to wait while new ones train. That sounds like a really bad time as minions took forever already without forcing you into training them with no way to prevent their death.

tl;dr Evil Genius 2 died because the people making it were morons and did everything they could to make all the bad parts of the original game worse.

The problem with the game isn't the heat, the problem with it is
        >can only take on one mission at a time
        >many missions have multiple stages that can only be completed one at a time
        >the most important missions (henchmen, super agent) all require multiple missions
So say you want to hire a henchman. You need to do all three stages to actually get him so you might as well put it off until the third mission unlocks and do it all in one go. The first mission has you do three world map objectives that take 8 minutes + load and travel time, but thankfully can all be done simultaneously. Then you need to do a base objective like interrogate some tourists. Then you need to do a 8 minute+tax map objective, which unlocks another map objective which progresses into a fight in your base.

This shit all up can take 40+ minutes without any extra bullshit like training up more goons to complete the objective or having your base come under siege by a super agent. And that's just the FIRST stage of a three part mission line, during which you can't do anything else like other henchmen questlines or getting loot items. Some missions can take HOURS with all the extra fricking around you need to do, in particular training up high-end goons which takes fricking ages just for later missions to chew them up by the bushel. I don't even mind long games but there isn't enough interesting shit going on in your base during this waiting time.

So uh... does this game still have the thing where you can get an absurd amount of points for a room but spamming it with certificates on the walls? It's probably just my autism speaking here but it's kinda hard to not min max stuff without making the offices look very unnatural.

    >Just don't do it

I know, but is the game fine and beatable like that?

      Anonymous

You really don't need the ratings to be that high for people to be happy. Spamming 8 million tooth posters or whatever is just for minmaxers.

      Anonymous

If you want to minmax and save room space, then yes. If you want to go for aesthetics then you have to build a bigger room to put in unique furniture.

Schools and hospitals are settings within the two most cucked institutions in modern life. They are the last place I want to be, especially in a video game. This is why I don't bother with this series.

This game has like 30 hospitals in groups of 3 and flip ups one mechanic at a time.

Is the last DLC worth it?

      Anonymous

not that fun honestly, the bottle necks in GP make hospital design a pain because you now need like 8 GP offices to try and at least avoid a bottleneck

        Anonymous

GPs only bottleneck if you don’t have actual diagnosis buildings organised

          Anonymous

Maybe it changed since then but the original game was designed so that the other diagnosis buildings just increased the diagnosis gauge. Patients still needed to go to the fricking GP to then be assigned a treatment, which is why you then had both new patients and long term patients fighting for the same room

            Anonymous

It works the same in TPH

            Anonymous

No the issue is that people don’t diagnose properly, or train staff properly, so someone’s going

            GP > Diagnosis > GP > Diagnosis > GP > Diagnosis > GP > Diagnosis > GP > Treatment.

            Instead of

            GP > Diagnosis > GP > Treatment

id play theme hospital first, i played it last year for the first time and the game holds up pretty fricking well

      Anonymous

Its fun at first but quickly it becomes kind of a chore. Every hospital ends up looking and feeling the same. When you start a new mission especially, it feels like you spend a lot of time just going through the motions to get your hospital started. There's no reason or incentive (or really even much of a way) to make your hospital stand out and feel different, so the game just feels samey after like 15 hours or so.

Started playing it recently, all the reviews said it was better than the meme hospital.
Really like it so far. Has a comfy Sims feel about it. Some of the management features are a bit basic but the complexity comes in anyway once you add more departments.

I did 15 minutes of butthole sunning yesterday and feel supercharged for my week. I didn’t even need coffee this morning, I woke up bright and early with the sunrise ready for my day. Don’t take my word for it, just try it yourself so you can receive and feel the benificial power of the sun through your anus.

Remember to start your week by charging you anus with the power of the sun. Your anus is considered the “Fourth Eye” and it’s directly connected to your “Third Eye” and pineal gland. Absorbing sunlight through your anus is a great way to recharge your whole system. For many people in the world their anus is the seat of their consciousness and their consciousness needs brightening, what better way to brighten your mood by getting light to the darkest area of your body; if more people received nourishing light particles through their anus I believe there would be far less buttholes in the world.

Seriously though, it’s important to love the skin you live in, love your body and love yourself wholeheartedly and unconditionally. Spend time in your natural state in nature feeling the sun on your skin.
