I am close to finishing this gaym I believe
I am doing the 3 witches from the barbarian tribe quest in act4
When does the game get really annoying and bad?
I am close to finishing this gaym I believe
I am doing the 3 witches from the barbarian tribe quest in act4
When does the game get really annoying and bad?
>close
lol no
You still have Pitax, the invasion from Nyrissa, the final long ass god awful dungeon and then the final act
But I am 48 hours in already and its getting real repetitive
Well it's going to keep going so better get used to it
Yes, the same battle tactics are repeated over and over again. I'm also in Act 4 and I'm tired, but more because of the loading screens.
Ye I hate the loading screens as well and the shitty banter at every rest scene which you have to do so many of even on light load
You're just getting started. My playthrough was over 250 hours, albeit, that's with all the dlcs.
>250 hours,
How the frick? My full run through of the game with all of the DLC (except Varnhold) took about a hundred hours
I have never finished a owlcat game for this reason, i think the furthest i got was WOTR when i quit on act 5
>48 hours
>already at the barbarian part
are you speedrunning?
House At The End Of Time is painus in anus
Most people say it gets bad once you get to house at the end of time and have to deal with Wild Hunt.
Pitax chapter is when it starts to drag, House is when it starts actually being unfun.
House is just dumb. Enemies aren't impossible if you know going ahead of time but the dual maps is just annoying to traverse
>play wotr
>feel no remorse being the worst piece of shit known to man
>play rogue trader
>can't commit at all to being a heretic
why is that?
less nogs / degens
Heretic path in Rogue Trader isn't just being a shithead dickhead, it's also being as intentionally moronic as possible. Your common sense is rebelling and trying to save you from total braindeath.
>why is that?
I would guess that it is absolutely impossible for modern pozzed writers to do something like this. If you think about it the only way you could pull heretic route is if you would be very secretive about your corruption and what you are doing. good luck doing something like this + making it fit to the main plot that is dictated by iconoclast + dogmatic route. It is the same case for being evil in pathfinder. It sort of doesn't work at all.
You become a chad that impresses the big birb to the point he lets you do your thing, chaos warband leader becomes your goon, secret khorne worshipper joins you.
You then proceed to become someone that could rival abaddon/huron.
What do the others get? a headpat from the inquisitor i guess.
>chaos
>chad
You are nothing but slave and tool, that would be discarded the second gods don't need you
You literally give up any pretense of being master of your choices the second you damn yourself
>act4
Anon, you aren't even half way done. What you're doing now? You're gunna be doing the same exact thing in 40 hours, except even more boring each chapter.
if you got that far and its fun, then it won't get annoying / bad except at the final dungeon if you don't take Blind Fight feat on all your characters
if you do, then the final dungeon will be kind of long and annoying albeit tolerable
I got blind fight a loooong time ago because the act 3 monsters all had some kind of misschance
>Blind fighting gives immunity to the wild shithead perma CC
Man.
That's stupid.
how are gaze attacks even real just close your eyes homie
>he doesnt have a feat choice left over on his build for Blind Fight
Is Kingmaker or Wrath of the Righteous better, and how do they compare to other CRPGs like Wasteland 2, DA:O, or the Baldur's Gate games?
Wrath is better but start with Kingmaker like I did
Apperently you cant go back to Kingmaker after Wrath as its that much better
Beware tho that Pathfinder games have 0 sandbox features, its nothing like Baldurs Gate 3 or DA:O, all the game is pretty much combat and theorizing builds, atleast Kingmaker is like that but the builds are so fun
Wrath is much better, Wrath is also the most ambitious cRPG to date as far as features, and also better than even BG2 in some aspects, but not all.
You can finally breed the succubus in Wrath and retire to familial bliss so it's fine now
>Wrath is also the most ambitious cRPG to date as far as features
lmao what
>biggest amounts of classes, feats, spells, build options
>mythic paths changing gameplay & some story events
>mounted combat
>still most alignment options in dialogue
It might not have as fun magic and party members/quests as BG2 but that's about it.
BG3 is literally a bimbo with only voice acting & pretty graphics
le bigger means le better
You should play Assassin's Creed Valhalla it will blow your mind.
When the competition is BG3 with less options than what NWN2 had 15 years ago, yes.
BG3 isn't a competition. It's a dead game that will not have a sequel from its developer.
>When the competition is BG3
BG3 is the only other modern crpg besides pathfinder?
Only one people actually care about, yeah. Tons of slop that no one cares about though.
Besides Pillars of Eternity which has failed and now been perverted intoa Skyrim clone so dead franchise, yes.
I guess you can also consider Wasteland 2&3 but they are rather different than high fantasy D&D games.
Besides that it's just some ultra low budget games that no one cares about.
>muh options!
The options are fake. 90% of the shit you could pick for a build is useless garbage filler that no one ever uses.
>90% of the shit you could pick for a build is useless garbage filler
This is how you can tell your brain is completely rotted and have no tolerance for nuances.
He's right, cope
No anon, you're not right, you just have a rotten brain.
Yes I am and so is
Pathfinder builds are a meme, they all play the same, RT unironically has more variety
>they all play the same,
How does vivisectionist and Grenadier play the same?
I don't play your game, moron
Not grenadier, but vivisectionist is no differen than rogue or slayer, or basically any martial class. They all pick (mostly) the same feats and have the same playstyle
>Not grenadier
>N-n-noooooo you can't use the example that proves me wrong!!!!
>but vivisectionist is no differen than rogue or slayer
Slayers get combat feats.
Vivisectionists don't get combat feats, moron.
They both attack in melee, literally same shit
wow.... extra feats.... that totally changes how the class plays...
Yes, moron. The feats make all of the difference in roleplaying and capabilities.
Before you have an aneurysm, do an inventory of all the feats in Pathfinder and then ask yourself honestly, what percentage of them actually get used for functional builds.
Why are you even playing RPGs if you're going to scoff at roleplaying elements and nuances?
Just frick off to your larian VN simulator.
5e is better than 3.5e, cope
This is absolutely untrue. I've been a DM since being an Elf was a character class and 3/3.5 was the best it ever was. The problem isn't the system, it's the people making video games that can't translate it well enough. I want to train an AI that can be ported to a game like a module.
The argument was made that quantity = quality when it comes the amount of shit you can pick for a build in an RPG.
I am simply saying that if most that shit is useless then the argument falls flat. Making up filler build options isn't hard. Stuffing a game with them doesn't make it better.
>I am simply saying that nuance in RPG is useless
You have brain rotted.
It's fake nuance.
See
How many different ways are there to build a functional Vivisectionist or Grenadier? How many of the exact same feats do the builds include?
>How many different ways are there to build a functional Vivisectionist or Grenadier?
For starters, one is a long range bomber, the other is not, and have to survive through other means.
You don't know shit about this of course, and this is why you have to ask.
A vivisectionist will always pick the exact same feats other martials pick, two weapon fighting, seize the moment, outflank, improved critical
Then he drinks his mutagen drunk and goes to town autoattacking everything to death, just like every other martial
>>A vivisectionist will always pick the exact same feats other martials pick,
Nah moron, they have Scientific discoveries instead of feats.
I don't know why you think that argument doesn't apply just as hard to 5E. Even moreso because at least PF has a better combat maneuver system.
Why are you assuming I like 5E? Get over Larian for a second, jesus
Because this entire discussion was someone jerking off 5E.
>TWF, 2H, archer, natural attacks
>volume of attacks vs DCs and extra bombs
You can make a viv that can sneak attack with claws, daggers or any other weapon you like if you build correctly. You can also make a OP grenadier that can stunlock everyone with bombs while also being tanky and being a buffbawd
In a dead game like BG3 with no sequels ever boing made. Your limited build selections make sense.
But in the Pathfinder universe with potentially 20 more games down the line, we need the nuances and subtle differences in variety.
For example I'm not going to be playing vanilla fighter for the next 20 pathfinder games.
And I don't have to, because I have the variety.
>But in the Pathfinder universe with potentially 20 more games down the line
lol
Yes. It's the difference between an alive universe, and your dead FR universe.
Dude I haven't even beaten BG3, played it twice and both times I dropped in act 3. Owlcat hasn't confirmed anything about making another Pathfinder game, and the new 2e game isn't being made by them, for all you know Owlcat will never make a Pathfinder game again
Both games get their skills from already existing systems.
Until I can make a throwing build in Pathfinder where I chuck enemies at each other it's an inferior realization of RPGs.
Just give up, your meme game is dead and will never have any sequels.
It's done, not dead.
And I don't need it to have a sequel because Larian will just make something else.
>And I don't need it to have a sequel
So it's dead. You don't have any need to talk about it anymore. Which is why you're not posting in BG3 threads anymore.
You're posting in game systems that are alive.
That's not what a dead game is, moron.
>That's not what a dead game is
It kind of is. The BG3 setting has no value to you anymore. It's dead, and that's why you find yourself posting in Pathfinder universe whihc is alive and kicking.
No, not at all. People discuss New Vegas, which will never have it's plotlines continued, all the time, instead of discussing Fallout 76 which is still ongoing.
Tha'ts not the same because Bethesda is still alive and kicking, so there is always hope for a new new vegas.
But you're ded.
After the success of BG3 there will definitely be more games made that are set in the Forgotten Realms. They just won't be made by Larian because they didn't like working with WotC.
>They just won't be made by Larian
This is a big difference though.
FR shills have never been as bad or as aggressive as larian shills.
Because you morons don't pretend that Golarion is better than Faerun since they're both bastardized modern fantasy slop.
>You don't have any need to talk about it anymore
BG3 gets threads every day, though
Meanwhile Pathfinder threads were dead as frick before the DLC came out. Hell, even this thread was dead and getting pity bumps before Lariangays riled you up
And /ocg/ died, the few people that still browsed it had to go and shit up /crpgg/
>BG3 gets threads every day, though
I don't think so. It seems pretty ded to me, it's why you're drawn to this place instead.
>uhhh no it doesn't 🙂
>also ignores the rest of my post
Okay anon
It's time to move on Anon. Just like your developer.
It gets more threads than any Owlkek game.
One thread is ded with 2 replies on page 8.
The other is just as ded.
It's time you help out your dying brothers with a few bumps, isn't it?
Nah, I don't care. This is the first Pathfinder thread I've seen in weeks while I see BG threads every day.
>Pathfinder thread I've seen in weeks
There's been at least one per day, but they all last like 24 hours and are constantly getting bumped at page 10, it's kinda funny how hard they want to keep a general
If your game doesn't let me thorw 10 fart & mud bombs in 6 seconds, rain holy laser beams from the sky, turn into a invincble Balor, make the enemies die by showing them their worst fear, detonate a nuclear bomb and than revive a demon lord and tell everyone to kys in every encounter than you're game is just a shitty RPG
BG3 lets you do all that so not sure what you're on about.
BG3 has mythic powers, 10 lvl spells and whole path that lets you turn into a Lich or a Angel?
You can turn into an avatar of Bhaal.
while in Wrath you can turn into a
>angel
>fairy angel
>Lich
>Gold Dragon
>demon
>Devil
>Aeon
>Swarm of insects
>Trickster god
>40 lvl giga human
Wrath won. BG3 lost
agathion should've been the Neutral Good route instead of fricking gold dragon, also lich shouldn't be relegated to just being Zacharius b***h for the whole story. But yeah WotR beats the frick out of BG3 in the power fantasy scale
There's a difference between being downright useless and usable but not optimal.
All weapon types are viable for example, but high crit range weapons will always be better.
Unless you are some autismo on Unfair and even then only a permadeath run there would lock you out of options.
A melee build can function optimally with just Outflank & Improved Critical. You can fit the rest, regardless of it being usable but not the best stuff like the fear feats, or downright garbage gameplay wise that only matters for roleplaying like Endurance.
Doggo is overall the best but Leopard is more new player friendly because it's the best pet until around level 7 and still good after.
Bropard has highest AC & AB early and 3 attacks even at level 1.
>they all play the same
have a nice day. their are different classes for different playstyle and just because you pick the same feat doesn't mean they are the same thing. i guess according to you a kineticist is the same as Sorcerer and their is no difference between a Alchemist and a Druid
BG3 is mechanically the biggest step up for the genre ever. Call me when Owlkek introduces so dynamism or verticality to their environments.
>Call me when Owlkek introduces so dynamism or verticality to their environments
DOS had already done that you know
>can't even fly in different elevations
>something Solasta, a game with 1/100 the budget lets you do
That's literally the only thing that slop has going for it.
>Call me when Owlkek introduces so dynamism or verticality to their environments.
rogue trader
Are you serious? It doesn't even have any traversal abilities. Elevated terrain is just glorified walls in that game.
Solasta did it better in that regard, honestly. The problem is almost everything else.
Rogue trader has that and their future games will also have it.
>You can finally breed the succubus
I'm working on that but what does it have to do with my post
I liked Kingmaker better.
Twins status?
I forgot to install and DLC before starting the game (GOG version) so nothing for me
You can install it mid-way through the game and they'll appear one day in the throne room, fix your mistake now
Nice gonna do that with all the DLC then
No point in playing vanrhold's lot because you already did that questline and can't import your save anymore
Whenever I think of playing this I just remember it's like 200 hours long and I could experience classics like PST and BG1/2 instead
But I'm gonna slack and play neither
if you want a short but interesting crpg, try Torment: Tides of Numenera. It's diverse unpredictable and not too long.
>Owlcat got the rights to Kingmaker back
Valeriebros.... it's our time, she will give us children
Still can't believe the nonsense excuse they had for Aru, homie it's literally just a paragraph, one line of voiced dialogue for the new DLC probably cost more than making the whole "and they lived happily ever after" epilogue for Aru.
What makes you think they will change the ending after 7 years?
>7 years
6
I like the idea of releasing DLC to games people thought abandoned. Its not like there is an expiration date nowadays with steam and online updates. You technically could release DLC to 20 year old games if you wanted.
Idk. seems pointless to me. Wrath is understandable because of how godawful Arue ending was and the fact that most of the community was nonstop telling them to change it. Also Valarie has a good ending anyway where she becomes you're queen
>Also Valarie has a good ending anyway
Are you serious? The only reason why you literally can't name Arue without having one gazillion cuckposters coming out of the woodwork if specifically because of Valerie's ending that forever mindbroke this shithole
>The only reason why you literally can't name Arue without having one gazillion cuckposters coming out of the woodwork
Not anymore they won't. and again the ending specify that both of you are not interested in children. guess Baron doesn't have a breeding fetish unlike commander
>Not anymore they won't
lol you clearly weren't here when someone posted the ending and shitposters started spamming that the kids weren't yours. Cuckposters will always cuckpost
that was just Camgays final cope because they got nothing from the new DLC. not even a new ending where she doesn't leave you.
>how godawful Arue ending was and the fact that most of the community was nonstop telling them to change it.
i'm surprised they actually listened
I'm more surprised that they gave Lann a new one when nobody has ever complained about his, most likely because women dont' romance him
Wait, someone actually liked Lann? News to me. His constant moping was so grating. Easily the worst companion in the game.
Better than Wendog
Technically they didn't, the changes only happen if you romance her, otherwise the ending remains the same
But then again no one who complained cared about the non-romanced ending
I am 99% sure some of them browse this shithole. I expected they will change her ending to say that the commander lives with Arueshalae now but they gave the most trad Erastilpilled ending to her and even mention having kids with her
>Idk. seems pointless to me.
I like the Kingmaker crew more than the Wrath crew so I'd like a Citadel DLC for Kingmaker also.
Because they changed WotR's after 3
Because the last WotR DLC showed that coombrain waifu gays will pay money for their bullshit to be validated by an ending slide.
Imagine getting this mad when people were going to buy the DLC regardless and Owlcat didn't even advertise the changed endings outside of a minor mention in one of their streams
Dude is still seething about Valerie getting Farmer'd.
I never understand the Valarie farmer ending. someone explain me what the frick was wrong with her romance ending?
The shitposting was
>Valerie romance end doesn't have kids
>If you completely and totally frick up her entire questline she marries a farmer and has a kid with him
In her bad ending she retires, marries and has kids with a random peasant
In her romanced ending with you it specifically says that you two aren't planning on having kids, but shitposters always like to pretend she's the only one who doesn't want to
When the game first came out there was a bug that made her bad end trigger even if you romanced her
>When the game first came out there was a bug that made her bad end trigger even if you romanced her
Kek. is this also where the farmer meme comes from?
Yes, but even after they fixed it people still were butthurt because she had kids with some random but not you
But why doesn't she have one with you while have one with just a random farmer? her feminist pride gets destroyed?
Yes, she fails at everything and basically becomes a breeding sow that's forgotten by history
Damn that's hot. Guess anons have a preference for that type of ending because the new Arue romance ending is the same but you are the farmer this time and you are not gonna stop at one
When she marries the king she's able to live for herself. She has finally broken free of demands of the church of Shelyn and her family to become happy as her own woman. That's supposed to be her arc. Its supposed to be empowering and you're supposed to feel good that she has overcome societies expectations of her.
When you fail to do any of her companion quests her pride is shattered and she gives up on herself. Hooks up with a local farmboy and proceeded to whelp out a half dozen of his gremlins. Its supposed to be demeaning and you're supposed to feel bad that she got reduced from a strong capable fighter with a strong sense of justice to this woman who gave up on her dreams to become a peasants breeding sow.
Most people however just read it as, she'll willing give birth to a farmboy's kids, but she won't give birth to yours.
Don't forget that most people here would gladly consider having a wife that gets pumped full of kids a good ending regardless of context
What were they thinking
No one knew about the new ending tho. it's only after the dlc released that most people found out that Arue broke the curse of no kids. Guess Succs are very fertile compared to normal women
She's just like me fr fr
The twins are perfect.
If only the ending slides were decent. It would also be better if the dialogue option to choose to marry them wasn't so fricking inappropriate and awkward. You save them both from their fate and then the option is like 'okay that's done now let's get married, miladies' and if you don't pick it you don't get the stay-together romance ending. So stupid.
>You save them both from their fate and then the option is like 'okay that's done now let's get married, miladies'
Kanerah is the one who brings it up because she wants to force Kalikke to confess
What more do you need, homosexual?
That's not the marriage ending bro
You still end up with them both, who the frick cares?
Because the ending slide is more like you are just friends. It's literally not the romance ending.
Anon, are you dense?
Are you moronic?
Play it for yourself then, homosexual. You'll see. You literally have to say you want to marry them immediately or else you are friendzoned.
How the frick do you get friendzone from
How the frick do you function?
The marriage ending is pretty much that + you got married with cute tiefling horns decorations
It's better
>friends
Couldn't be me
This but I have no friends and I just want to go home
House at the Edge of Time is when the game gets annoying. It can be made much easier if you have blind fight feat for everyone.
What's the best time to do Varnhold's Lot? Before the main campaign? After? Some time in the middle? Will I know when to do it?
As long as you do it before the Varnhold questline, I don't remember when exactly it was that you get the prompt to transfer your save, but I would do it after Troll Troubles just to be safe
After you've solved the Season of Bloom, but before Vanhold's Vanishing starts. There should be a window of a couple weeks between them. Play it there and import your save.
please help a moron, is there a way to use a bastard sword in one hand without equipping a shield?
Bastard swords are one handed right?
Only if you have a shield or something else equipped in your off-hand, if not your character just holds them with two hands like a fricking moron, it does the same with longswords and dueling swords. I heard about a toggle, but I can`t find it.
That's what a bastard sword is for thougheverbeit
Oh right that, no there's no way. I think call of the wild has that option though
If you're a Magus you one-hand them while you're using spell combat.
the requirements for the true ending are so stupid
The true ending sucks anyway since you can't marry the twins.
Bro, your bag of tricks?
Having to suck the c**t's c**t the entire game like a simp is the stupidest part. In Kingmaker anyway. In Wrath the 'True ending' is stupid to begin with.
I like it. A heroic hero pursuing a malicious and cursed woman for over a decade because he can still see the good in her is kino.
It's undeniably a flaw on the hero's end to be so forgiving, but that's part of what makes her it compelling: the lust and love over duty, for the hero is in pursuit of the bond he briefly shared with Nyrissa in act 1 when they were comrades.
Nyrissa may claim it's an act, but the hero knows the affection for both parties was real. And the hero also knows that Nyrissa is putting on an act -- and also that there's more to the story than she's putting on. He can see the clear anguish and indecisiveness in her decisions, and because of this, he wants to save her.
>for the hero is in pursuit of the bond he briefly shared with Nyrissa in act 1 when they were comrades
There is no bond, you literally just meet her and go
>WOHA MAMA HOT NYMPH LET ME SIMP
you only meet her like 3 times before she goes "geez thanks for your help please come to my home ALONE, I swear I'm not going to kill you :)"
>There is no bond,
There is. You meet her in your dreams, then you investigate the tale of the Stag Lord together, then you have the option to question her about her past -- which she does reluctantly in a pained and hesitant manner that very clearly leaves out some details. Then, after that, Nyrissa bestows upon the player character a boon before he faces off against the Stag Lord. It's very reminiscent of something like pic related, wherein a noblewoman would give their favored knight a gift before they set out for battle.
After the battle, Nyrissa leads you into a trap. But if you call her out on it, it's clear that betraying you pains her. So why did she do it? That becomes the mystery for your player to solve.
As the story continues, you have to be inquisitive and empathetic, but NOT submissive or a simp to her ideals. When she approaches you in the Pitax arc, if you offer to give up your kingdom for her affection, she'll actually cringe, and the romance route will fail.
Any good build for a lawful evil run? I'm going to reinstall and inseminate Jaethal's daughter.
Install call of the wild and play an antipaladin tyrant
Outflank was a mistake.
>When does the game get really annoying and bad?
The instant you get to the first kingdom management screen
I think Kingdom management is fine for the first half, it just becomes obnoxious later in the game as the save file bloats and the loads become unbearably long.
Pitax and the house of fun.
There's nothing annoying about Pitax
pitax is disappointing because there is literally no war even though the quest outright says it's a war
Kingmaker in its current incarnation doesn't feel credible.
You are talking about the country of bandits, and yet the selection of Rogues in character creation is far less than what is available in WotR.
That's a big flaw that needs to be patched up.
The 2nd credibility issue is whenever the bandits ambush you, none of them uses the stealth mechanism. Not even 1 of them among the ambushing group.
They need to patch that up as well, and in addition give the opponent bandits the new rogue classes found in WotR.
You bring order in a lawless land where some small time bandits set up shop.
It's not a real kingdom of bandits.
>lawless land
>It's not a real kingdom of bandits.
Come on now.
Well yeah.
Stag lord 's influence is tiny with a bunch of rapists and morons.
Lack of a true kingdom does not mean there is a bandit kingdom
The mental gymnastics you go through to defend lazy developers is just too much.
To the point where you can't even make yourself admit Kingmaker needs to be updated and patched.
How does the semen taste like, Anon?
The stolen lands being a lawless land where no country rules over is not even on the top 200 reasons of why Owlcat should backport Rogue archetypes or any archetypes, really.
Fighters, rangers and even ex paladins are part of the gang. Banditry is not class coded.
Being a disingenuous tranime avatrgay does not really make your argument stronger.
>Noooo you have to update Fighters and rangers too!!!
I never argued otherwise.
What race should they add in the next game?
Catfolk?
Rats(who almost beat kitsune during poll for the next race)?
Leshy?
Catfolks and lizard people. they should cater to khajiit and Argoniangays to gain more audience
I'm tired of forced beast races. For frick sakes, aren't you people tired of cat people by now? They always look ridiculous and DD2 gave them the human hairstyles, which on top of being lazy, looks absolutely stupid. The best-looking beast race characters ever were in the Breath of Fire series.
>check thread again
>morons want less options, because they only care about minmaxing, like they do in multiplayer games
yep, frick nu Ganker crpg threads
If game has them as playable race, with their unique race bonuses and abilities and skill penalities/bonuses, why shouldn't they be added to the game?
They want to include one gazillion classes, they can go ahead and do it, but I expect them to have proper reactivity in-game and to exist for something else besides "this is a barbarian.... but you can use magic! (it's useless outside of self buffing though)"
Preferably not a furrybait one since they're practically all the same but with the animal name swapped out. Maybe something that's large size since there's only medium and small player races otherwise and it could let you grapple bigger monsters if they were to add it.
Pamper hags
Finishing the crab game in the next day or two. Then i have Kingmaker ready. What class should i go for 1st time something straight forward without a chance to frick it up. I will go on normal or Challenging mode
Any with a pet.
Ideally if caster Sylvan Sorcerer with Leopard
Divines can go Cleric or Inquisitor with Animal Domain
Melee/Ranged just go Ranger or Mad Dog Barb and a reach weapon like Fauchard
Ideally Leopard pet if you want easy mode early
I thought dog is the best pet
For me it's the smilodon
I gave up in Pitax. I barely enjoyed the first 100 hours of this liece of shit slogfest. I wasn't up for more. Pathfinder overstayed its welcome. I barely finished Baldur's Gate 3 years later and that game was miles ahead of Kingmaker in terms of fun.
Alright, time to play a caster!
>spell focus
>spell focus greater
>spell penetration
>spell penetration greater
>elemental focus
>elemental focus greater
>all their mythic variants
>the exact same metamagic
It's gaming time!
And there's still a difference between playing a Summoner, Blaster, CC caster or a Witch vs Wizard for example.
Even if at their core a lot of stuff will be the same like you bet every single one would be better off spamming Haste & Stinking Cloud than casting Fireball or Summon Monster III, but these options still work and let you kill enemies/have fun
>I am close to finishing this gaym
You have two more major story arcs + an endgame sequence before you brat the game, so no, you're not close to beating the game.
>When does the game get really annoying and bad?
Never. The final dungeon is brutal if you fricked up though. Every companion except Valarie and the Tiefling Twins can die. Moreover, all of the enemies you encounter in the dungeons will rape you if you don't have blind fight, death ward, and true seeing / echolocation.
Also, the endgame Swarms WILL make you rage because they're unironically harder than the final boss. They're easily the most bullshit enemies in the entire game, especially if you don't have an Alchemist or Kineticist to hardcounter them
The ankou and the golden golems are easily the worst because they can TPK you for rounding a corner if initiative swings the wrong way.
You posted cringe
>RPGCodex
Literally worse than Reddit.
Dude tries so hard to be funny it's sad
>rpgs are good if you can.... uhhhh transform into different beings
What the frick am I reading?
PST will forever be a better rpg than both Larian and Owlslop, and you can't change the name, race or gender of your main character.
Not a RPG. it''s glorified VN just like Disco Elysium
>PST will forever be a better rpg
Because you have 10 dialogue options that usually lead to some result?
Bet you love fallout 4 too
Its hilarious how the Pathfinder fan argument always boils down to More = Better
Having so many bloat in your game mechanics where it leads to 10% of them being viable and the rest being useless shit that have no reason to justify their existence is not good game design.
Any developer can bloat their games with useless dogshit, look at Ubisoft.
The bloat sucks but after you filter out the 95% crap you have more valid options than 99.9% of other games.
When you play an RPG setting for the 50th time it actually is useful to have so many classes to choose from.
Adapt Second darkness Owlcat so my Elf Magus can romance the Drow Queen and fix the relation between the two races
>Drow
lol
not canon
Good i hate WOTC and Paizo for removing Drows from Pathfinder. if Paizo is smart they would re add them and just call them dark elfs
>Paizo is smart they would re add them and just call them dark elfs
He's the harsh truth: Paizo just used WotC's meltie as an excuse, in truth they got rid of drow because they're black elves and they don't like the racist connotations
least Owlcat can do is tell us what AP they will adapt next. the wait is killing me tbh
>Pathfinder fan argument always boils down to More = Better
3.5 fans argument
You won't understand
3.5E is good unlike Pathfinder.
Paizo is better than WotC. Larian agreed, don't bother us about it.
Wait so you're not an Owlgay, you're an actual Paizogay? lmao
It's june, shouldn't you be talking about trans rights on twitter or something?
No he is busy justyfing why removing Aligment was a good idea and how turning Pathfinder with 2e into DnD5e was le good actually
PF2E is nothing like 5E.
2023 WotC isn't 2000 WotC.
One is cancer, the other is dead.
WotC has always been kind of tyrannical in my opinion.
Forcing developers to adopt 3e when 2e was working just fine and cheaper to make games with.
Forcing developers to adopt 4e to the point where no developers could follow through with their demands.
>2E was working just fine
It was literally dead
When you already have a functional system backend for your game, you should just keep using it. It was good enough for BG2, it would have been good enough for all the other IE games.
2E was dogshit and, as much as I hate WotC, they did the right thing in pushing devs to not be lazy on that one.
Rogue's Set Snare never recovered from that ordeal.
In Pathfinder we still can't set traps without being some sort of wizard.
>Forcing developers to adopt 4e
They didn't
Bros, is Dance of Masks good?
Yeah.the new Archetypes like the hippograph and the mentis Zealot and even living grimoire are cool. I also liked magic Deciever but it's only 6th lvl compared to a 9th lvl spell wizard. Also Arue ending where you breed the succ and have tons of kids
>Arue ending where you breed the succ and have tons of kids
Damn, gotta get on it, then.
Pathfinder lost, Owlcat's next CRPG will be Warhammer Fantasy and 40k Dark Heresy.
It's over Anon.
the Pathfinder system was built to scale up to 20-30 more APs over your lifetime.
When you get old and sickly there will be new Pathfinder games to let you take advantage of the hundreds of classes and feats you still haven't tried yet.
>Owlcat's next CRPG will be Warhammer Fantasy
I'll be cool with that. I like edgy Dark Elves and heroic, Tolkien-esque High Elves
>Just finished act 4
>Tristan, the only cleric I had and my main companion is gone
wtf is this moronic Black person shit
Harrim
He is like level 0 and I have to rescue amiri as she is my second main companion
This is dogshit design, sorry game for not reading the entire story spoiling it for me just to prepare for this
You can get him back
>Harrim
He's annoying. I don't like him
>pathfinder thread
before you all devolve in waifuhomosexualry again,
check out this fancy Nok-nok
>32 lbs limit
The absolute state of manlets right now
>stabs you
>burns you alive
He doesn't need STR
That's my hero right there
I wish there was a route where the Baron just concede his title to the NokNok.
I wanted peak clown world in the Stolen Lands.
Here is your Pathfinder 3 iconic companion bro. She is not romancable btw
>Baiting us with tots
>they can't be waifus
ooOOOWWWWWLKEKKKKKKKKKKKS
You can't romance them all Anon. here have Ameiko
>Pathfinder 3
Irrelevant unless PF1ed
>witch
>not sorcerer voiced by that one pornstar who likes playing PF1e
So is disploomer a viable build for her or should i just get another character to be my tank?
Turn her into a kinetic knight. gotta use that busty CON somehow
never played with the dlc
What does a kinectic do and how should i build here?
>what does Kinetic do
do big dick elemental damage and target touch AC.
>how should i build here?
pick flames, get spell pen and you will destroy most things unless they are immune to fire. great against swarms
Turn her into a Dragon Disciple
Make your choice, anons
http://poal.me/tmbh9y
I will always choose my Joanne d arc stand in when given ther chance Anon
Evil waifus are best.
Sorceress if only because it sounds exactly like Morrigan
After years of getting filtered/consistently restarting I finally got into the game proper
Kingdom management as of Chapter three is still fun but I feel like I'll hate it by the end of it
>pic related
It's just a number, there's no point in having a high score. Where's the prize?
You will, especially late-game where the loading screens become unbearable and you have to start skipping days like a moron because you already explored the entire map
Commander after escaping Areelu's lab and encountering Arue
It was before being kidnapped by Areelu
Isn't Commander a homunculus?
No, Areelu just kidnapped you at some point and implanted you with the mythic juice
never knew that. the game keeps the commander backstroy very vague wether he was always in the lab or was just some random smuck who got superpowers
I think Targona was the one who mentioend it and it changes depending on your race (shot lived ones vs long lived ones)
I remember Targona mentioning a baby which i always thought was the player character. never played a Elf so i guess it would have been different compared to a human or a Half-elf
Yeah that, she kidnaps you and implants you with the soul, but presumably after that she left you go get on with your life
Post a lore accurate one
Do you happen to have the full image, my friend?
https://files.catbox.moe/aefglg.png
How in the frick would his dick be inside her in that position?
Don't think about it and just fap
>his dick
There is dicking but not from him.
That's a real sex position, anon. It's called the Amazon style because the female is completely in control during the sex.
d.com/sex/what-is-amazon-sex-position
It works like this: The man lays on his back, spreads his legs, and then raises his legs up. The woman climbs on top of the man, puts both of her legs on the outside of the man, then she presses her pelvis against the man's groin. Once she's in a comfy position, she mounts him. Since she's in the dominant position, she gets to do all of the thrusting since her pussy is forcefully smashing onto the man's wiener over and over again
You don't have to tell me what the amazon position is anon
https://files.catbox.moe/69lulz.png
Build and stat him
>Build and stat him
I have no idea who that is but he looks like a Lich Cavalier if we're going by his aesthetic.
Anyone can send me a potrait pack that atleast somewhat fits into the world of Kingmaker?
I would really like one or two additional potraits be made
https://civitai.com/models/262556/pathfinder-km
Be the change you want to see in the world
>AI slop
You wanted portraits with the game's artstyle, there they are
What prompts do you even use to generate something half-decent
There are plenty of examples there anon, just click an image and look to the right, all the info is there
Holy shit Anon, you're a godsend.
Do you think it'll work well as a upscaler? I like to take pictures of my MCs in photomode and then upscaling them through AI but was never able to get the artstyle right.
Hmm for me it was the house with 3 floors and 2 dimensions.
You fight endless packs of wildhunts and if you didn't pick blind fighting feat you got perma stunned.
Everything afterwards was a walk in a park.
Bro...
eugh dude rogue-like mode true ending sounds horrible
Should have spend time playing better crpg without pointless class bloat
>When does the game get really annoying and bad?
The moment you click "new game".
in really want to start a new playthrough of the game
I have only played it once back when it came out without any of the dlc but there are so many other crpgs i wanted to try out before since the game got me into the gnre in the first place
Im playing Baldurs Gate 1 for my first time and i think its kinda boring honestly
There is not much you can do from a gameplay perspective and the fact that its real time with pause kinda bothers me
Convince me to start a new playthrough right now
This game is RTWP too but with a shoehorned TB mode
>There is not much you can do from a gameplay perspective
What exactly were you expecting besides the standard fighter abilities, spells, lock picking, stealth, etc?
i dont something more complex than just walk up to enemy and kill him
In kingmaker you can use your charge ability on a character like amiri for example to start the fight of by killing an enemy mager or archer who hides in the backrow and then sending your own fighters to distract their fighters while amiri wracks havoc behind their back
You can use aoe spells like grease in a bottleck to hinder the enemy from getting near you and defending an important choke point
You have an insane amount of build variety and customaziozion for something as basic as even the male human fighter there are dozens of varietys you can play him as
In Baldurs Gate on the other hand all you do is click on an enemy walk up to him and kill him
??? You can do everything you just mentioned in BG1, besides charge I guess
You know Pathfinder didn't invent grease right? or AoE spells that disable your enemy so your martials can go kill them
>You can use aoe spells like grease in a bottleck to hinder the enemy from getting near you and defending an important choke point
Bro? Grease is literally in BG1
Actually the one spell where larians muh surface fetish made things better.
Having enemies slip in your grease and then putting a torch to the mess was satisfying af.
It's both RTWP and turn based. Use turn based in anything difficult, use RTWP when you know you can't lose
In the neverending argument about rtwp vs turn based Pathfinder figured out that doing both is the superior method
Too many fights in BG3 and Divinity OS 1/2 are boring slogs because of how long they are
RTWP difficult fights were basically you playing turn based because it requires round by round inputs across your party to be safely cleared. The fight against Draconis in BG2 ToB is a fricking nightmare for this
Octavia on my penis
We know, Regongar
>Kingmaker
>LG paladin

Haven't played it yet
Hopefully you'll make the right choice when the time comes, then
>eldar who won't frick you
>busted ass prostitute hag
>or nice girl
Is there really any choice?
They even cucked us out of a female dark eldar romance so they could give the fujo audience even more content.
How likely is it to see RT dlc? Wrath got plenty of support
Can we expect to see similar work for it?
Have you been living under a rock anon? The first dlc is coming out in august, the next one is scheduled for december. Both add new companions and it's all content for the main story
>Have you been living under a rock anon?
Honestly? This isn't far off lmao
I barely play video games now
It has a season pass
Assassin and Arbites confirmed, also more dicking around on your flagship
Why does everyone pair crime lord RT with the feesh?
>t. fish fricker
probably because everyone made their RT Crime Lord Operatives using snipers when the game came out.
>LG ranger & Twins
>LG Paladin & Arue
>Dogmatic officer+master tactician & Cessia
yep, it's Owlcat kino time. hope the next game also have another cute demon/devil waifu again
But Cassia is not a demon/devil
Why is the MC so fricking moronic in this?
EVERY fricking act he is like
>WHO IS BEHIND THIS?? WHO COULD BE DOING THIS TO US?? WHO CURSED US??
Black person its the same fricking creature since day 1 and you know it there is a whole fricking quest in like act 2 where she tries to kill you
It's not just your character, no one knows, the game really tries to play up the mystery of who's behind it when it's obvious it's Nyrissa
Even though in one of the very first scripted scenes in the game it goes like
>lol I need to destroy kingdoms so I get uncursed lmaooooo
fricking moronic story really
>WHO CURSED US??
It's The Lantern King actually and not Nyrissa.
Obviously the most logical conclusion in-universe would be to assume it's Nyrissa, and that's exactly what happens, but it takes everyone in your barony a long ass time to come to that conclusion
Feesh
Updated impregnation ending soon
>good friends.
So, pets are fricking broken. Dog and Wolf shit on everything else.
That's auto trip for you
Dogs and wolves are yesterdays news, we like hippogriffs now
I know you want to frick Ulbrig, but what does that have to do with animal companions?
>furBlack person shit out of nowhere
Dogs and Wolves lose to hippogriffs when you have access to Death from Above and can trip
Thought this was Arthas for a second
Psycho Power seems to be some form of negative emotion based power and the description for psychokineticist says the following
"Psychokineticists lack an overwhelming soul's strong spirit, and so this energy ravages their minds but unleashes power locked in their ruptured emotions."
Seems like a decent fit.
As far as stats go, high strength and maxed out charisma.
Meant to reply to
Why are you playing this? Did you already finish Shadow of the Erdtree?
I'm not playing it until I beat WotR again
This week has been SMTVV>WOTR for me. Next up is maybe Elden Ring, but I've got to say the hype has died down a while ago.
And I'm kinda in the situation where I don't want to use an existing character and I can't be bothered getting there with a new one.
So I just got through Season of Bloom and my take away was that's it was a great premise being wasted on an immature developer with very little talent for storytelling. All the Victims of the Bloom were rando nobodies so it never really hits home how terrifying everyone suddenly exploding into gore as a manticore/hydra/owlbear pops out would actually be. I don't know if they get any better in their later games but it made me wish this material was being adapted by a different developer with more skill with dramatic storytelling.
The other thing bothering me is I just don't find the combat mechanics all that compelling. The massive owlbear that appears in the capital, so important it even got a cutscene, as it lumbered its way through your capital's streets with citizens running away godzila-style, then the combat initiated and my dudes chunked it in seconds with zero fanfare. It seems like in this game every boss is more or less tackled the same way. You cast all the buffs you have, no thought about order or which ones to pick because they all stack so you just cast them all, then you just auto attack everything until it explodes into gore. If it has a particularly weak saving throw you might throw out a save-or-suck spell for good measure. Maybe this is a WRPG thing but when I think of RPG bosses I liked they usually had several phases, or gimmicks you needed to puzzle out, or layers of defenses you need to overcome, none of that seems to be a thing here. I think is about half way through the game and the way I tackled the very first chapter's fights is exactly the same way I'm still tackling these fights. Buff all my dudes, auto attack, maybe check resistances, maybe throw out a spell if it has a particularly weak save.
I'm am enjoying the game despite these shortcomings, but it could be so much better, I'm looking forward to how things improve with Wrath once they get more experience. It really does feel like an amateur team that hasn't got its sea legs yet.
>All the Victims of the Bloom were rando nobodies so it never really hits home how terrifying everyone suddenly exploding into gore as a manticore/hydra/owlbear pops out would actually be
Why would you specifically need a named character to suffer expode into gore because an animal came out of them to see how horrifying it is?
NTA, but you'd be more emotionally invested in a character you know and care about than some random citizen?
But this isn't about being emotionally invested on someone, it's about a horrifying plague that's destroying your kingdom
When its little jimmy's mom from that throwaway quest in act 1, or that guy you met on the road, or any number of characters you might remember it sells the idea that it could be anyone. When its just "Citizen" NPC #435 who only exists to explode into an owlbear for this encounter its whatever.
Frick Linzi and not in the good way
moronic midget
Desperately needs rape correction
applause please
Linzi the magnificent?
Linzi the illustrious?
Maybe Linzi the indecisive...
Frick her and her printing house
I don't get why that made people so mad. She dipped into the treasury to build a printing house, its not a bad building.
The “dipping” as you call it without permission is the problem
Oh no, my precious BP! Our barony will never financially recover from this. Can't cut any slack to the companion who has had my back since this adventure began and is in the midst of writing a literary blowjob to my person.
As the other anon said, losing BP is not the issue. She's a fricking hypocrite for telling me I shouldn't steal from Jamandi but it's okay to steal from me.
She is just being flexible. The printing thing is a really good deal and much better bang for the buck at that price than the other silly buildings you can make at that point in the game.
>The printing thing is a really good deal and much better bang for the buck at that price than the other silly buildings you can make at that point in the game.
I. Don't. Care.
>She is just being flexible.
So why can't she be flexible to me?
Becuase you're dum as frick. Probably.
>resorting to insults
You're just making Linzigays look really bad.
>She's a fricking hypocrite
She'd at least entitled to 1/6th of the treasury considering she's been with the party since the beginning and is an equal member of the team. You had 0 entitlement to the guard's salaries in Jamandi's Mansion. Not the same situation. Not a hypocrite. If anything she's been very generous for not charged you anything for her continued service and loyalty and letting you manage the entire treasury yourself.
>linzigays unironically have a more israeli mentality than Kanerah
lmao
>Companions must work for free
Commie please leave.
>Commie please leave.
>She'd at least entitled to 1/6th of the treasury
>public funded printing press
Anon... you're the actual commie here.
She took it out of her backpay. You communist.
Equal 1/6 share of the treasury literally is gommunism.
And yes, gommunism is indeed the best system. You just need to accept that you are gommunist.
>people deserve to be paid for their work
>they get to spend their own money how they want
>this is communism
lol, commie doesn't even know he's a commie.
deserve to be paid for their work
It's not just that, you're demanding equal 1/6 payout. Maximum equality right there gommie bro.
Okay comrade, it all belongs to the party right? You don't require compensation, it belongs to the people?
Fricking pinko.
There are villages in China that banded together to make their own workers co-op, like making oranges, or mushroom, or tea leaves, etc.
They all split up the income equally like you suggested.
>There are villages in china therefore paying people is communist
Man the level of self delusion here is staggering.
I'm not the other Anon who said Linzi shouldn't be paid.
I just detected a lot of equality in your post, and some mismatching criticism of gomminusm as the same time.
>I'm not the other Anon
I accept your concession then, pinko sympathizer.
You can't retreat until you conceded equal 1/6 pay is based gommunism.
Even division of spoils is standard pathfinder society practice. You have a 6 member party, each member is thus entitled to a 1/6th share of said spoils. Paying people what they're legally owed is not communism you pinko.
>pathfinder society practice
is gommunism. LOL, how could you not know?
For example I could argue Linzi does the least kills in the party. Then that would be a different thing all together.
Wow you really are a communist. I thought you were meming, but you're serious.
Well, yes. Why wouldn't I be advocating for the currently best system.
>She'd at least entitled
Says who? She volunteered to be in my party. I don't owe her anything.
>letting you manage the entire treasury yourself
Jubilost manages the treasury not me.
>Jubilost manages the treasury
You mean Kanerah right? Jubilost is a terrible treasurer.
>She'd at least entitled to 1/6th of the treasury considering she's been with the party since the beginning and is an equal member of the team
Uh no
Retinue are paid a salary and allotment, not a dividend. Otherwise 5/6 of the treasury for the entire country would be given to just your starting party
She's part of your adventuring party, not retinue
Security guards / advisors / personal scribes also count as retinue. Consider the fact that you're her Baron and that none of the party have a vote in splitting spoils or running the country
Speaking of which how did they even decide who of the 6 in your party got to be baron anyway? Obviously it has to be the PC but who made the decision, the other party members? Jamandi? Was it unanimous? Was it even debated? How does this work in the tabletop? Do the players at the table just nominate of their own to rule over the others at the table, what if no one can agree who gets to be baron?
>Speaking of which how did they even decide who of the 6 in your party got to be baron anyway?
No one else wanted, people in your party came there for spoils, not for barony
>what if no one can agree who gets to be baron?
You are aware that tabletop games have GM to settle such shit, right?
>No one else wanted
What if you didn't want it either and just wanted the spoils too?
Then you didn't took part of adventure and game never happened
I'm just here for the spoils like everyone else, let one of them be king.
And this is why 5e and bg3 are better.
>What if you didn't want it either and just wanted the spoils too?
You get the DM telling you "You signed up to play a kingdom management game you are managing a kingdom you homosexual"
In the tabletop you get to decide which type of government you want, default is a ruling council made up of the party members.
Well, she told me stealing is bad in the prologue and then she pulls that stunt on me. That kinda makes her an annoying hypocrite.
It's only a problem if the player actually builds a ton of buildings and is constantly on the edge of bankruptcy, and then Linzi comes along and drive your bottom line into the red.
If you're just saving up for the trade deals, it's never a problem.
What part of she steals from you do you not understand? I don't care if it's a problem or not
It's heavily discounted though, isn't it?
>use potion that gives +2 inherent bonus on every stat to Mc
>dlc adds a book that gives +4
Oh well, guess Galfrey is getting it when she joins
The potion is Alchemical now isn't it
Are alive galfrey and lich galfrey the same gameplaywise?
No, she goes from being a paladin to a skald
Uhhhh I've never seen this. Did they add it in an update? I also have gracious friendships installed but the page doesn't say anything about Shamira
>Did they add it in an update?
Yes. A few months ago I think.
If I want to be a shifter myself, can I still run a balanced party with Ulbrig? I haven't played through since his DLC came out and I wanted to use him. Is it good on it's own or should I do a subclass, and which Mythic path is good with it?
>If I want to be a shifter myself, can I still run a balanced party with Ulbrig?
Yes but the one who gets the shifter exclusive gear will end up being better than the other
>Is it good on it's own or should I do a subclass
Fey, manticore and weretouched are the good ones, vanilla is fine but it's boring you just transform into regular animals
>which Mythic path is good with it?
Demon, trickster and legend
>have to wait 30 days for Galfrey to show up to continue the story
what am I even supposed to do, I did Hellknights Outpost and the Dragon Burial Grounds but there is like nothing else on the map left, do I just spam rest until it happens
Hit the spam rest button or play Azata
the darkest timeline, guess I'm resting
Yes, and wait for the rest of the companion quests to trigger

Why don't owlcat just announce their next real game?
Are they afraid the announcement will steal sales from RT DLC and WotR DLC?
>Human
>Crusader Cleric
>NG
>Angel
>Aru romance
Yeah, it's gaming time.
This but LAWFUL good, the one true human male alignment
>burned out in kingmakers final act
>burned out in wotr's final act
im playing this shit so long im just bored of my character
>wotr's final act
Dunno, demon city felt like the worst part
Act 4 is kino once you get used to the endless loading screens and the camera gimmick
God I want to frick this hag
>shit tests me saying shes bored
>demon scream in her face
>fricks me on the spot
is it really this easy
Why you couldn't play as a inquisitor or something in RT? Really want to rp as a religious fanatic, but playing for a lame analogue of cleric the whole game is sucks ass.
Wotro is to power fantasy for me, while kingmaker comes close to it at last acts.
I cant into such levels of power creep fantasy, its like babys first rpg lorewise, when everyone automaticly strives to achive some ludacris level of power like becoming a lich or a god.
I booted off that kind of players when I used to run tabletop rpgs.
Kingmaker on the other hand dont become sucha fanfiction tier story, yet both games overstay their welcome.
I would want more companions like nook nook or twins in next game, while they dont overdo epicness like in wotro, not some weird mutants and snowflakes, but some based characters with good written background so they dont stick out but serve as as a backdrop for plot/side quest and add some lore/cultural bits to the story.
>Go visit Vellexia
>Suddenly notice that I completely forgot about the next-door theatre
What's a good character class to bring into Varnhold's Lot?
Alchemist, bombs through int are generally busted
But you'll need some cha checks along the way, so keep that in mind
Pick my 2nd playthroughs mythic path bros! I went angel already so I'd like to try something new
(kitsune cavalier)
>Demon
>Trickster
>Azata
I'm playing a demon path cavalier as my first playthrough, its pretty great
One of the demon aspects is focused on charging and gives extra damage dice on charge, the other abilities have been alright but nothing crazy, only mythic rank 4 though
Are you gonna stay demon or go legend? Because its so commonplace and I already knows what happens, if I went demon I'd probably stay on it honestly.
Because Angel is already the ultimate Law playthrough, even as a forgiveness angel.
Why would you want to play as chaotic trash?
?t=58
You gotta go evil for your second playthrough dude
Demon into legend is kino
Are pets supposed to be able to unlock doors and chests? I find it strange that my giant centipede can.
yes
>my giant centipede
It's probably a good idea to play with this pet in Kingmaker.
Because in WotR nobody picks that shit, because you can't ride on it, but the other pets can be ridden on.
Why not? Why can't I stand on it like a surf board?
It' just a unique quirk about it. It will have some other advantages usually.
The game would suck anyway if every pet was equal.
Dont forget a lot of its damage comes from poison which almost every single enemy in the entire game, is immune to.
Which companions are better spec'd than the others, KM's or WOTR's?
Most of WotR's are better built but also more pigeonholed in their role (due to stat spread and/or time you get them).
In Kingmaker, you could go a bit more crazy more easily.
both games have moronic choices but I think Kingmaker's are better Ekundayo, Nok-Nok, Tristian, Jaethal and Regongar are perfectly built for their classes and I think theres less of that in WOTR
Sosiel is better build than both clerics (Tristian's domain choices still bother me).
You also have Nenio. Daern and Ember as stronger full caster choices than Harrim and Octavia.
Woljif is almost overturned both as a rogue and a gish.
Then you have Arue.
And while they are ab it more pigeonholed, Lann and Wendu can easily get retooled (especially Lann with that 17 Wis on top of STr and Dex)
>Sosiel is better build
He has a worse statspread and worse feat choices, hes a better Cleric and gets patched up with Domain spam but Tristian has versatility as a perfect Mystic Theurge build.
>Nenio, Daeran and Ember
Agreed, even if Nenio is moronic.
>Woljif is almost overtuned
Having to grab TWF with him while hes an ES is awful I never keep him as one and just move over to Vivisectionist tbh
>Arue
My waifu, but Ekundayo is better than her because he has a dog and he has about the same statspread to just DPS like crazy.
>Lann/Wendu
Also agreed
>a perfect Mystic Theurge build.
Perfect mystic theurge build means absoluetly jackshit.
He still has a bad domain choice with good, but he starts with 19 Wis, decent strength and not minus dex.
As for Woljif, whether you go vivi, magus, EK or keep him pure, he is set-up to do it
>Perfect mystic theurge build means absoluetly jackshit.
Not him but MTs are pretty good in Kingmaker just for the extra spell slots they bring without Mythic Abundant Casting and because you don't need to minmax DCs so hard to hit the weaker saving throws
No, they are not.
You are behind multiple levels on good spells. You lost the important value of a full caster
Bards/alchemists/inquisitors have much more value since they also offer unique support
>good spells
Name them, he isnt missing anything special from Level 9 Cleric spells if he goes the bare minimum for Mystic Theurge and the best thing you want for him from a Sorcerer spellbook is Firebrand
>Name them
All of them. You're like 3 levels behind at all times from a pure Caster.
The only spell he misses out on is Overwhelming Presence which Jaethal and Linzi get. Everything else is replaceable especially Heal, Mass.
Ironically hes better with Magic Missile and Burning Arc with Spell Specialization than later spells for damage til he gets access to Fire Storm otherwise hes there to just channel positive energy and if you have to heal mid-combat you yourself did something wrong.
Frightful Aspect, holy aura, earlier hellfire rays and more high level slots which you can use for metamagic too if you like low level spells.
If I do not get the good shit early, might as well bring bard for songs or alchemist for infusiosn and force bombs
It's not just missing lv9 spells, it's getting lv 6-8 spells much later.
>Tristian's domain choices still bother me
Why? Good Domain is a solid domain. Touch of Good is a solid buff. Healer's Blessing form the Healing Domain is also really good. It makes all healing spells 50% more effective, which means you can heal your party with far less spell slots / channels.
The problem is it being the PRIMARY domain.
Eccle main domain can pick spells from the spell list freely, so you could have fun with him as a fire caster and you'd get the benefits of the good domain without caring it's spell list is pretty much all cleric spells.
Wrath has some downright busted companions like ember and nenio, and the shifter guy. Even the least useful companions like seelah and regill can be effective when you acquire them.
Kingmakers companions leave a lot to be desired.
Generally very poor stats and archetypes.
The only weird ones are Valerie due to stat spread (which however lets her do a lot of things down the road) and Harrim with tanked physical stats and bad domain choice.
The rest are just not hyper optimized(Though Tristiand good domain as Eccle is annoying).
I guess Octavia with a forced rogue level is annoying, but Arcane Trickster is bonkers in kingmaker.
Octavia is notable for having 8 con and dying to being sneezed on.
Yeah, cause with 12 con, she'd survive a lot. It's more an issue she gets exhausted quickly travelling in act 1 than surviving battles.
That extra HP will let her tank 1 more hit than staying at 8
>wizard
>tanking hits
And on any difficulty that matters (aka above normal), she is not surviving an extra arrow.
And after chapter 1, this becoems irrelevant
>I guess Octavia with a forced rogue level is annoying
No it's her wizard level that is annoying.
Rogue was the perfect starting point, and you have the flexibility to become Arcame trickster / or wizard if you preffered that.
The wizard level just sucks and is a detriment if you want Octavia to become Sword Saint or Duelist, or a hybrid of those 2 classes.
Returning player here.
Since KM will never get a mounted combat, should I buy Season Pass 2 (already own 1) for WotR or Rouge Trader?
Kinda yearning for a crusade against le ebil things run, so both seem like good candidates.
I think rogue trader DLC has more potential and may be mandatory to enjoy it as it expand the main story, WOTR dlc is cool but realistically you can enjoy the game without them unless you want an specific archetype, a dance with mask its mostly an epilogue and you have to play the game until act 5 to see the content and all the other DLC are separated adventures
Don't open.
Who is this? I just bought these games did I just spoil myself?
That's Gorum, he got his shit rocked by Achaekek, god of assassins, for being a fake god. Not a spoiler, if anything Owlcat is tying him into the game further with the Mantis Zealot subclass introduced in the recent DLC.
>for being a fake god
?
Gorum was Torag's understudy for most of history and wasn't considered a god until much later when he got a sect of morons to claim he was the god of war. He never really had divine power, he's a demigod on the level of Kurgess or Pulura. He's not a real god like Desna or Pharasma.
did they say who was going to replace Gorum yet? Or are they ditching the heavy armored soldier god archetype?
>lift crom wholesale and have a cool war god
>kill him off and make a lame as frick backstory
Goddammit
Achaekek's powers are hard capped, he literally can't kill gods.
Just wait till my boys gets more worshippers. It's over for you gays.
Steam reviews are bad, is this game really good or do I just move on to WOTR?
I love spending hours on character building if that helps.
Is really good but it was plagued by bugs until the enhanced edition and would randomly broke your savestates and it was very hard for certain things to trigger without using toybox, it also had no turn based combat which filter a lot of people on the hard fights unlike wotr (the mod its really solid though so make sure you get it if you dont like real time with pause)
You don't need the mod, it comes with turn based mode on the version on Steam.
I personally preferred KM just for it's comfier setting and more interesting premise
They're really fricking long games though so if you only have the patience to play one I'd probably go with WOTR just because of everything it improved on in terms of QOL and stability
I just beat act 2, or at least took the fort back idk if thats end of act 2. Why did that little gnome betray us? Like how the frick is siding with the demons (who want to enslave everyone) a fricking valid idea in her mind? I wish they set that up more because it was such a quick and stupid reveal. Choosing her options in the previous sections should have maybe made her have a change of heart because you valued her or something, anyway I locked in her prison for her crimes.
>he didn't know
If you had searched her tent and passed the perception checks you would've found out she was a cultist and why she was doing what she was doing. Then you could've confronted her and either let her go or executed her. Or if you were a trickster you could've convinced her to be funny.
Stomping the wild hunt in the Dance of Masks arena was so fricking cathartic after Kingmaker.
>start a new playtrough for the dlc
> make a Slayer Bloodseeker
> he cant restore his blood pool so had to drop it at level 9 even though summoning an army of dire wolves was fun
>Start a new playtrough with a Kinetic
>Sharpshooter can use wild talents at 0 burn
do you think this is a bug too bros, it feel extremely strong specially healing wise, so not sure if i should just respect as i dont feel like replaying act one for a third time this week
