Just stick with your last gen console. By the time these systems are easily available they'll already have a slim version and there might actually be a library of exclusives worth playing.
But if you really need to have one just use one of those stock tracking sites and call the actual store in the morning and ask politely if they have any in stock. That's how I got my switch back in 2017.
Honestly I gave up. I may buy one in a few years or at the end of this generation to catch up, but I lost all motivation especially since it's just a couple games that I can't get on my PC.
My 360 died and I want to play some of my old games on Series X thanks to backwards compatibility. That's pretty much my only reason to get one. There really is nothing else to play on it.
the 4k is whatever, the appeal is the 60 fps for certain titles and ssd loading times. you're paying for a slightly better experience for a few years, considering that you can resell the console if you want to buy whatever new revision comes out, it's that bad of a deal. there's no telling if a revision is going to be better either, people who bought a switch at launch lucked out because they could pirate on it and the ps3 slim lost its ability to play PS2 games.
