The last game made by Crystal Dynamics that I played was Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, which was pretty good, but it was so long ago that it doesn't mean much.
The fact that they are doing a partnership at this point and not since the beginning makes me worried that they rebooted the reboot or something like that.
Still, mite be cool, we know nothing of "the initiative" so that's at least a competent developer involved for sure, even if their Avengers game flopped I reckon.
The truth is that MS Pajeets can’t manage all these studios, once these studios are fully under the wing of MS and all their in-dev games are out it is going to be a disaster. Avowed, this, 343 sucks, Coalition sucks, MS is just bad at this.
It’s definitely not just Phil although it’s his problem. MS has problems with managing these titles and putting the right people in place in these studios. Compare it to the way Sony has gotten all their AAA games out the door and it’s just a massive obvious difference.
It sucks because I have a PC, I want a good Halo, I want good Gears, I want good Perfect Dark, MS just keeps fumbling this shit. Bethesda MIGHT be ok for now because they have Todd and Pete and they’re obviously big and experienced but if they leave and get replaced with Satya’s 3rd nephew Sanjay then forget it, just write them off immediately.
>AAAA super team >been almost 5 years since they were formed >please someone anyone fricking help us make this game >not even having one of Microsoft’s OWNED studios help them, but the people who made fricking avengers
Not looking good for perfect dark
This is how it goes when you're owned by Pajeetsoft. They buy studios and let idiots call the shots instead of taking a hardline approach to running things which means they end up paying too much "talent" with nothing to show for them and eventually getting shuttered.
See: 343i, The Initiative, Lionhead, FASA, Ensemble and many more. Their approach only works if someone actually emotionally invested in the game/s is at the helm like Schafer or the people at Relic making AoE4.
Like anyone gives a frick about the PD story. It was just a GE engine "future" game with generic movie/x files tropes from the time implemented in the most basic way.
Nobody cares about the fricking character "Joanna Dark"
>Anyway, I'm more concerned about the overall plot.
They're likely doing some variant of the PD: Core plot. Just without the time travel and Joanna Dark from the future being the antagonist and stuff. The loose brush strokes of eco-terrorism and the dataDyne building in Cairo and shit like that.
James Bond sounds like some bloke you could meet down the pub, so I don't really understand why that would be an issue for anyone. Not like she had a shit fake accent like Laura Kraft.
The voice was always the weird part for me. Elite secret agent but sounds like some bird you met in the pub. Maybe it goes down better outside of the UK.
Joanna Dark is supposed to have a personable, "everywoman" voice. Her most iconic disguise is as an air hostess. So imagine Joanna Dark as an air hostess or a secretary or something. That's the character. Soft spoken, demure, apologetic for existing because half the staff at the Carrington Institute loathe her.
>Like anyone gives a frick about the PD story.
I do. They put a huge amount of effort into the world building and aesthetics. >Nobody cares about the fricking character "Joanna Dark"
They cared so little that her redesign in Zero prompted a mass fanbase revolt the IP has yet to recover from. I don't mind the PD: Zero actress, though. She voices Jennifer in Terminator: Resistance.
dunno what's worse, ms/initiative being run so bad that they actually need help from another giant studio or crystal dynamics being so far in the shitter that they actually agreed to this
IF THEY'RE OUTSOURCING RARE IPS THEN WHY ARE THEY NOT OUTSOURCING BANJO TO SOMEONE WHO WILL DO IT JUSTICE
WAYFORWARD WOULD MAKE A GREAT 2D BANJO GAME SHANTAE IS ALREADY HALFWAY THERE
PEOPLE WANT MONEY
MODERN RARE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR OLD IPS AND CLEARLY DON'T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH THEM
KILLER INSTINCT WAS THE LAST GOOD MS FIRST PARTY GAME
WHY DOES A COMPANY THAT OWNS SO MANY GREAT IPS DO FRICK ALL WITH THEM
>FOR BANJO THERE IS NO SUCH DEV
I'M PRETTY SURE THEY JUST HAVEN'T ASKED ANYONE BECAUSE OF A COMBINATION OF THE HOLDOUTS AT RARE NOT WANTING A NEW ONE AND THEM NOT THINKING IT'LL MAKE ENOUGH MONEY TO MATCH THE "HYPE" JUST LIKE WHY VALVE AND OTHER COMPANIES HAVE SCRAPPED BELATED SEQUELS OUT OF FEAR OF BACKLASH LIKE MASS EFFECT 3

Wow. They really should have reorganized first before spending billions.
The only mismanagement so far was Halo Infinite everything else is on track.
What's happening at Microsoft man? Frick.
the absolute state of xgs
>Crystal Dynamics getting to work on a proper game again after The Avengers
That's good news.

It's because the CEO of Initiative used to be the CEO of Crystal Dynamics.

I liked her in the N64 and GBC games. You said it yourself, she's just a bunch of basic tropes, so there's no real excuse for them to frick her up.
Anyway, I'm more concerned about the overall plot.
I kind of tried to blank Core from my mind, as it sounded pretty dumb. Now I'm even more concerned.

I want a game featuring Joanna Blacked
look that soulless character design, it's gonna be shit
That's one gorgeous fricking tummy and a waist made for fricking though.
PDZ Jo is better.
Im sure it'll be just as "good" as the sequel that was meant to bring it to a new generation also
The reveal looked Letty shitty tbh
Who still gets excited for non gameplay trailers?
Oh great, so Joanna is gonna be 'softened' like Lara was. Just what we always wanted.
I really want this game to be good, Perfect Dark deserves so much better than to be just another dead Microsoft IP.
dunno what's worse, ms/initiative being run so bad that they actually need help from another giant studio or crystal dynamics being so far in the shitter that they actually agreed to this
Oh fricking great can anything good ever happen in this semenslurping timeline.
The upcoming Great Recession that will wipe out all the rotten trash in the market sparked by Evergrande collapsing.
>brunette
>white tank top and jeans pants
>skinnyfat/no body definition or hint of femininity

The same CD that ruined Tomb Raider and turned Lara Croft into an ugly moron?
Cringe
nuLara is beautiful

>Babyfaced desexualized hobo
>Doesn't even looks like the character
She isn't even passable, simp
>desexualized
Are you a homosexual?
>>desexualized
>Are you a homosexual?
Are you new, on top of having shit taste in women?
Yeah, you're a homosexual.
Cope, plain jane fetishist
This is a nothing burguer and actually good for the game.

Oh so you canned Legacy of Kain yet again
Burn in hell frickers
Perfect Dark: not!Tomb Raider edition.
>no skintight suit
