They went all in on the woke shit. When they go back to caring about making games and not making statements with their games I will give them another chance.
I think that ship has sailed with Microsoft owning them. Oh well. From Morrowind to Fallout 4 was a damn good run.
I gave it another chance when they added maps and I'm liking it okay. I'm doing the crimson fleet/UC questline which is constantly presenting me with things that seem like they'll be interesting meaningful choices and then just kind of sidestepping them which is about what I would expect from a bethesda game
I hated the Crimson Fleet questline
I was supposed to gather evidence, but I didn't gather enough so I had to basically fight the entire fleet by myself in the jank ass ship combat
reminder that recent updates fixed crashing when moving to new tiles.
reminder that tiles ARE connected and can be loaded
starfield will have vehicles, seamless planetary travel, and probably seameless landing and takeoff within the year.
toddbros, we won again
very weird how they would build this capability into the game and then just not use it, it must have been a huge pain getting the creation engine to do it
I think loading and unloading the chunks is something the Creation Engine has been doing pretty well for a long time, but I remember people discovered it had something to do with the game despawning your ship, which would cause the crash. Also wouldn't be surprised if they track your position relative to your ship, so maybe the numbers just get too big at some point. Hopefully we see the invisible walls get removed once we get ground vehicles.
Planetary travel would be pretty easy, just pointless as it stands, because the current distance limits are already absurd. You need severe autism to run into the landing boundaries, but I guess they didn't realize that youtubers would do it for clicks.
Vehicles could work but would require a lot of work from them, and I don't know how fast they could be before chunk loading becomes an issue, especially on console.
Seamless landing and takeoff I doubt will happen. It would be a frickton of effort and everyone would just fast travel anyway.
Useless if they have to move at barely higher than walking speed because of loading, which is the issue Skyrim horses had. Will also require a lot more physics work than horses. The bigger problem is that there is no point to vehicles without overhauling the terrain and POI generation.
There isn't enough in the game to justify it anyways. >barely any what i call 'modules' (Miner's outpost, cyrogenics lab, etc) >barely any hand done dungeons, some of the main quest literally reuses the same modules as POI's down to the item placement >POI's are all the same, no matter the planet, item placement is the same >some natural POI's only have 1 or 2 modules so you will literally see the same icecap 40 times if you even bother with POI's >dynamic events like the one in my pic are placed all over with 0 care, the bodies are dropped in T-Pose and left to fall down exactly the same, i've come across this on planets that require spacesuits but none of them had any suits on >outposts serve no purpose other than generating massive amounts of materials that you have 0 use for >decorating is still a pane in the ass and a lot of props don't match or even line up 'flush' against the walls >AI is the worst it's ever been, the stupid spore flying enemies were never able to pathfind towards me despite being literal flying creatures and would fly away 1000's of units into the sky while locking me into combat >animal friendship perk changed and beaten to death for a useless scroll down menu that constantly resets itself when the scanner moves a pixel off the animal >animal is functionally useless even if you control it, it won't attack enemies you tell it to attack, only pacifies them for a minute or something moronicly short
This was an odd choice especially with NG+ and the Hunter stuff. What if I want to do a play through where I just want the artifacts and kill everyone to get them? make it so there's a morrowind type quest you can still complete the main story if everyone important is dead
>go to some place >walk and talk for 10 minutes >slaughter everyone >they just wake up 30 seconds later and continue talking
it's really a travesty, game is irredeemable shit even bethesda gays didn't like it and oh boy they're used to eating shit.
There's even one version of you in the alt NG+ worlds that taunts you because he killed everyone before you even get to constellation. But then you can't even do that yourself. Wtf.
It's crazy to me how they went so hard on the essential NPCs, like that one quest where the colony ship is in orbit around a resort planet or whatever and all the executives are dickheads who offer you terrible solutions. It really didn't occur to them that players would want to just kill them all?
>It really didn't occur to them that players would want to just kill them all?
They don't want you to so you're not allowed. Player choice was never relevant throughout the whole writing process, clearly. It's a very Emil approach. > I'll just make all my character invincible, tear THIS story up you ungrateful fricks
the concept of starborn is perfect for bethesda games because it allows a lore friendly way of resetting your save for mods and a lore friendly way of your character climbing to the leadership role of every major faction throughout multiple "lives". its executed so poorly however that they should not get any credit for it. they totally could have given the player complete freedom on newgame+ to kill anybody or have meaningful failstates for quests/factions/storylines while being able to new game plus to reset or persist in the doomed world you have created.
It's amazing they went from Skyrim, a game that for some reason is still beloved to this day, to Starfield which was forgotten months after release, after only a decade
Second most sold game in 2023 and most sold game in 2024 so far
Multiple factions
multiple endings
lot's of cool ideas and designs in one single game
and yet Gankeredditors will attack this game, ecelebs will send dead threats to Emil and other devs and writers, FNV fanboys will mass downvote anyone who enjoys the game and etc
in 20 years people will see Starfield as the game of 2020's and how few people can ruin good things for everyone else
For people saying it's woke, genuinely what the frick do you mean? Is this just code for black people existing in the game sometimes? I played it for 40ish hours before I got bored and not once noticed anything even remotely political.
> Go to buy ammo. > Hello I am your gay ammo merchant. > That's nice I just need some ammo > Well I am glad you asked and yes I am gay married to my gay husband who is gay. > Didn't really ask just looking for ammo.
> Go to rent a room > Hello I would like a room. > No problem I am your lesbian Inn/Bar owner. > That's nice I just need a room. > Why yes I am lesbian married to my lesbian wife who is a lesbian. > I just want a fricking room.

I did for 5 hours. Then uninstalled.
Never again. I want a refund on the time.
it simply doesn't scratch itch for wanderlust and reward for exploring what bethesda is famous for

So anyways.

I am not gay
so long, butt pirates
can I upgrade the shitty flashlight to cover a broader area yet
anyone has a link to dw the latest patch? I want to try out survival mode and you bet your ass I'm not going to give Bethesda a single penny
>nothing happens: the ending: that is a question for another time
lmao
Not for at least a month until the mods have switched from that plugins.txt enabler thing.
>RPG where your choice doesn't matter and all npcs are unkillable
biggest pile of shit ever

Baldur's gate 3
Rent free

real, why the frick can i not kill the stardorks when i'm clearly capable of doing so?
I hate everything about this game so much.
It fricking sucks, there is nothing cool about it.
It's gay and fake and moronic.
Pure trash

Turns out you can blow up the ship. It is the only way to kill the gay yid. It was a price I was willing to pay.
every single quest NPC is unkillable.
Anyone involved even in the tiniest quest.

a bunch of unnamed NPC's are essential for no real reason too
i'd rather set my butthole on fire
Pay me, b***h!
Why the frick would I do that?
No thanks
not even if you paid me
I don't care if you "play" it.... as long as you buy it
Sneedfield

Played 50 hours of it and I seriously can't conjure up a reason to play again
This is coming from someone who finished f4 multiple times
>medicine skill check just to realize bleeding out leads to death
For me, the funniest thing in this scene is that we weren't even able to embrace her/himself, whole thing is so awkward lmao
>#3
I just love how absurd this option is. She's in a pool of her own blood and he's yelling at her to get a move on.
even the white guys look like black guys.
I think that just means it's time for you to take your meds again, schizo
make a better game next time Todd
but I've been playing the superior version
It's amazing they went from Skyrim, a game that for some reason is still beloved to this day, to Starfield which was forgotten months after release, after only a decade
People who hate Starfield give me the ick.

Could you at least provide decent bait?

They went all in with the woke shit.
Not until they release the creation kit you paid shill homosexual. I'm not touching your paid mods.
most humiliated game of all time contender
Maybe when they decide to give me the other half of the game for free.
starfield gamers are on the right side of herstory and that's really all that matters #itsherturn
