I like Lillie, but I'm sure I hate Hau more than you. I would break every bone in Hau's body and put him in a meat grinder and light his remains on fire just to make sure he is dead.

Gen 6 was heralding the doom to come, but Gen 7 was the point of no return. XY and ORAS are overall more polished games than SM, LGPE, and USUM.

Gen 6 is a clear downgrade from what came before. ORAS isn't an improvement from Emerald like HGSS was to GSC, XY was horrible compared to BW/B2W2; but it's still overall better than anything from Gen 7 onwards which took away even more content and got fell into the nu-Nintendo trap of becoming more gimmicky and experimental, instead of improving on what existed every gen like Gens 1-5.

I was so excited that I played both versions as they leaked and finished each within a day.
But I haven't played them since. I doubt I'd be able to stand all the cutscenes again.
Been contemplating replaying one of the gen 7 games soon. Is there any reason to play SM over the Ultra Games? I honestly don't remember there being much of a difference between them apart from Ultra Necrozma.
SM has a better story
Basically, SM would be the "alpha" version while USUM be the finish product, superior in everything BUT one aspect

It's cool thematically, but it's a shitty boss fight. They couldn't even fill the last slot of her party with a Nihilego.
USUM has rainbow rocket castle (much better than the post game episode in SM) better mount lanakila, a new battle facility, move tutors, more pokemon obtainable without trading, and mantine surf which is good for farming BP if you wanna take a break from battle facilities. USUM wasn't that bad in terms of new content. not sure why people say otherwise. it certainly changes more than say Yellow or BDSPiss
I'll probably play that then. I have a lot of my guys stored in my Ultra Moon copy so I'll probably just move them all into Sun before restarting. Seems to be the better choice overall.

Gen 8 tripped over itself right out the gate with the dex cut. And anyone with half a brain knew Dynamax was going to be moronic as soon as they showed flying moves boosting speed.
No it died after they dropped sprites which was after gen 5 and transitioned to a shit, cheap, inferior version of 3d compared to fricking GC/Wii 3D animations. Also sapped the games of deeper colors

The amount of times I've fapped to Lusamine and Mallow cannot be understated.
Ultra Sun was the final straw for me, it's the first time I remember actively disliking a Pokemon game. They hyped it up so much as this parallel universe where so much has changed, but it's just Sun Version but with a worse story and like no meaningful changes. Gen 7's already tough to go back to because of its constant railroading, so USUM dropped the ball immensely.
That said, I did have fun with Sun the one time I played. I liked Lillie's arc, the region is super comfy, most of the new Pokemon are instant classics, and of course I've blasted rope to Lana like you wouldn't believe. Haven't bought a new Pokemon game since and I'm content with that.
