the game is full of crude humor and ratchet still has the same personality just like the others you haven't played it
now if youre talking about jak yeah that game series went edge
Nothing, it's a fine game but you can see were it was pasted together at the last second eg. planets where you just do multiplayer maps against waves of enemies instead of like 1 were the whole game is big open maps. Makes it hard to play through more than once or twice.
>pasted together at the last second eg. planets where you just do multiplayer maps against waves of enemies
That was an intentional choice. You should listen to the developer commentaries some day.
Hate? Its story is just lackluster and many of the levels are missing the branching paths the first two had, or are blatantly refitted multiplayer levels. It's not bad, just disappointing and doesn't live up to what earlier games did. Deadlocked does this too but it drops the pretense and refines the experience to be far better than what UYA offered.
Nefarious as a one-off is a good character. He's one-track because his mechanic body was built that way.
And even the little tidbit with him in Deadlocked is cute.
But that's where his existence should've ended.

Only now. He was good back then. The story in general was endearing. At the very least it's far better than the mess we got in 2
Nah, the whole plot was rushed to shit and his character motivations are sloppy. UYA feels like a mess.
Qwark is terrible the entire game, Nefarious gets old after 2 scenes of him glitching out. The rangers are also terrible and not funny. >Let's go find old video games to find out how to defeat the guy that fricking Qwark of all people defeated once with our Avenger team that you'll never interact with
God it's so bad
The one thing that got retroactively funnier was during those Qwark documentaries the narrator is making fun of his bullshit stories. "Robot ghost space pirates?"
Then Quest for Booty comes out and literally does that. When you understand how it happened it's clear it was not a self-aware reference especially since they didn't even involve Qwark. The space pirates were only made to capitalize on the Pirates of the Caribbean movies' popularity, they made them robots cause R&C has a lot of robots, then in QFB they made a ghost cause spooky theme... Lo and behold the PS3 era accidentally used a concept that was exactly something the PS2 era was making fun of for being moronic.
Yea it's sad how modern R&C is exactly what they made fun of.
And it's weird how badly they want to cut out Clank from the games

It's cause Ratchet is just a 'good guy' now with no real flaws. Clank was supposed to play the role of the straight man that kept him good which he only really did in the first game, but at least the other PS2 titles gave them fun banter and moments with the exception of him not being a big factor in Deadlocked. PS3 stuff tried to keep Clank's guidance intact, but the problem is the writers fricked up so bad they didn't realize the games' events proved him wrong every time the two were at odds and made him look more like an arrogant prick than anything. They're not a good pair anymore because the writers can't do friendly banter to save their lives.
Reminder.
>That PS3 Slim loading issue they never patched that caused every single cutscene to skip, have mismatched audio, or glitch out completely.
This game went hard as frick to be quite honest with you senpai. I think the game you meant to post was literally anything after the 1 to 3 Plus KINOLOCKED / KINOATOR quadrilogy.
He combined "Kino" and Gladiator.
Gladiator was the EU name for the game.
And as we all know, people who aggressively attach "kino" to everything are fricking moronic and should be ignored.
You had it, literally the best 2d zelda in existence and its not even close... why would you try to go 3D right after that instead of waiting a bit and make another 2d zelda.. just why... Alundra 2 isnt even as bad as people say but my god... just why
>Dude what if everything was an empty bland arena, people love that shit in R&C 3 >Also let's remove Clank, it's not like you'll need him for the non existing platforming and exploration
It's a shit game that's only salvaged by the story and usual gameplay
Of course since it's also the only good split screen ratchet I have to give it a pass
Deadlocked was kino. They shook up the formula after three of the same game and focused on the action and guns. It was awesome and multiplayer with friends as a kid was really fun
thats why consoles should never be supported, their games just become forgotten and online support is can never be reenabled.
it does run great on PCSX2 though
Where the online lobbies though? I don't fricking care about that emulatan shit because I have deadlocked installed on my OPL PS2, hell I even 100%'d last year after getting wienerblocked by some skill points when I first played the game near release.
I just want the fricking online
You can actually play it multiplayer with some revival project

I remember playing and beating UYA in first grade and I used to think it was the best, but after playing GC this past week and playing UYA right this minute, I think GC has the better gameplay. It was the last game to focus on world building. The planets in UYA are uninspired and the music is no where near as otherwordly as GC. The only planet music in UYA that holds a shred to the style that GC had was the first of the Obani Gemni moons and, from my memory, the final biobliterator fight
Deadlocked is much more recent and I remember it embracing the focus on combat instead of the dull multi tasking that UYA had. It knew what it wanted to be and it never took itself too seriously
I Courtney Gears to whip 2B and Alia for their devotion to squishy humans and I want her to force them to belittle me, sitting on my face and calling me the filthy organic that I am
post game boredom. I wasnt gonna grind those slimes for bolts and i wanted to look at the secrets like the test rooms which blew my load harder than the fanart of courtney gears
"What if we had Ratchet go hardcore?
It was a fine game honestly. Sure as frick beats the reboot.
>"What if we had Ratchet go hardcore?
The mids 2000s were a mistake
I agree, but also it could've been worse.
>what if x were a troony Black person homosexual
much better than games today moron.
I never said they weren't and you will never be a woman
nice try. even though you cut it off, your hate boner for games you missed out on is telling.
2000s edge was fricking kino kys
it was jarring coming from up your arsenal and going commando
How is it hardcore? The male game show commentator is always saying stupid silly shit
THIS IS MORE FUN THAN A BUSLOAD OF CHEERLEADERS
...
look at the cover dumbass
>judging a book by its cover
Tell me this an ironic post
the game is full of crude humor and ratchet still has the same personality just like the others you haven't played it
now if youre talking about jak yeah that game series went edge
You start OP
Deadlock was only vaguely edgier than the previous games. It's just as satirical as the other PS2 games, just environments are a little more grim.
far better game than up your arsenal.
I just beat UYA and liked it, what was I supposed to hate about it? the last level/boss was kind of ass but thats a staple in the series
Nothing, it's a fine game but you can see were it was pasted together at the last second eg. planets where you just do multiplayer maps against waves of enemies instead of like 1 were the whole game is big open maps. Makes it hard to play through more than once or twice.
like I said all the games have shit last levels. they were all created in less than a year.

UYA has the best story with 1 though?
dr. nefarious is an awful character
Only now. He was good back then. The story in general was endearing. At the very least it's far better than the mess we got in 2

You're nitpicking. it was a great time for kid me
And I hated it as a kid, your point?
Not saying that the story in 2 was better, it was a clusterfrick too.
The one thing that got retroactively funnier was during those Qwark documentaries the narrator is making fun of his bullshit stories. "Robot ghost space pirates?"

dreadzone was created for the sole purpose of selling toys to children between the ages of 10-13
Yea it's sad how modern R&C is exactly what they made fun of.

>we're at the point where there are unironical deadlocked apologists on Ganker right now
>hating based gladiator
let me guess, you also like the remake.
Not him but I like both gladiator and the remake
This game went hard as frick to be quite honest with you senpai. I think the game you meant to post was literally anything after the 1 to 3 Plus KINOLOCKED / KINOATOR quadrilogy.
>KINOATOR
What?
He combined "Kino" and Gladiator.

What a nonkino comment
I love it when cutesy characters/franchises are turned hardcore and im tired of pretending that i dont
You had it, literally the best 2d zelda in existence and its not even close... why would you try to go 3D right after that instead of waiting a bit and make another 2d zelda.. just why... Alundra 2 isnt even as bad as people say but my god... just why
Deadlocked is my favorite R&C game.
This game had so much wasted potential. It's not horrible but a damn disappointment, especially if you compare it to Alundra 1.
It was a good game though? It's not like this is the last ratchet that was ever made or anything. It probably has the best pre-PS3 era ratchet combat
they were thinking they'd make a good game, and they succeeded
>co-op arena battles: the game
They were making one of the better R&C titles.
>Dude what if everything was an empty bland arena, people love that shit in R&C 3

Shit start OP. Deadlocked was a great game and I wish they'd do more with that style of gameplay.
The thing is, people try to criticize this game like it's a full on sequel when I thought it was clear it was kind of more like a side game
Deadlocked was kino. They shook up the formula after three of the same game and focused on the action and guns. It was awesome and multiplayer with friends as a kid was really fun
>no PC version
>no online lobbies for the multiplayer
>just a dead forgotten game
I FRICKING HATE CONSOLES SO MUCH
thats why consoles should never be supported, their games just become forgotten and online support is can never be reenabled.
it does run great on PCSX2 though

Oh shit, how alive is that?
No idea, there's some >discord where people sometimes organize shit but I left it as soon as I beat the game.
>THERES NO PC VERSION
>actually pcsx2 runs it on PC really well
>HURR I DONT CARE
moron
>>no PC version
think again
You can actually play it multiplayer with some revival project

For coop I'd recommend Parsec though

3 > 1 > 2 > ACiT > Deadlocked/Gladiator > Rift Apart > ToD > SM > QfB > PS4
I still need to play Nexus, SAC and I refuse to play the isometric ones
Its so weird to see a RNC thread that isn't just bot spam made by schizophrenic, art dumping homosexuals.
Which R&C PS2 mods are the best? There are mods right?
>mods
Frick off kid
>kid
jokes on you, I played ratchet 2 &3 with gameshark infinite ammo
why 3? you have a PDA to ship you ammo at an instant.
post game boredom. I wasnt gonna grind those slimes for bolts and i wanted to look at the secrets like the test rooms which blew my load harder than the fanart of courtney gears
You disgust me
Deadlocked was a great spin-off, you're fricking gay and moronic.
Reminder.
>taking the best part of the series, the arena fights and making a whole game of it.
I don't know, it seemed pretty based to me.
This is great tho, like every single Ratchet on Ps2
Campaign was kind of lacking, but the multiplayer on this was actually kind of fun.
Do the ratched games emulate well on pcsx2? I only played the reboot and quest for booty when they were given away on ps+
For real tho
I just want a Fallout 4 mod, that ports the voicelines from the Deadlocked bots, so i can use them as automaton companions
