I think it was an artist from the 80s-90s that came up with trying to split age ranges but it didn't take off so it's not like it's relevant now.

1 and 2 are dungeon crawlers, pretty straightforward at that, with an adjusted combat system from SMT1/2 on SNES. If that sounds fun, give them a go.
3/4/5 are more along the lines of vn dungeon crawlers. Ever played something like, say, class of heroes, or dungeon travelers, demon gaze, etc? It's like those. I'd say etrian odyssey but EO has a far larger focus on the gameplay.
Persona, by comparison, is more like a VN, a majority of the game's story progression occurs outside of the dungeon crawling elements. You get new gear, you upgrade, you do EVERYTHING outside of the dungeons. The dungeon crawler gameplay is pretty good though, the combat's nice and substantial feeling for the most part, as well.
I'd say emulate 3 or pirate 4/5 and give them a go, see if the first like 3 hours appeal to you (That's usually when you get to and through the first couple nights of dungeon crawling), if so, go for the goal, if not, well, you tried.

1 and 2 are dungeon crawlers, pretty straightforward at that, with an adjusted combat system from SMT1/2 on SNES. If that sounds fun, give them a go.
3/4/5 are more along the lines of vn dungeon crawlers. Ever played something like, say, class of heroes, or dungeon travelers, demon gaze, etc? It's like those. I'd say etrian odyssey but EO has a far larger focus on the gameplay.
Persona, by comparison, is more like a VN, a majority of the game's story progression occurs outside of the dungeon crawling elements. You get new gear, you upgrade, you do EVERYTHING outside of the dungeons. The dungeon crawler gameplay is pretty good though, the combat's nice and substantial feeling for the most part, as well.
I'd say emulate 3 or pirate 4/5 and give them a go, see if the first like 3 hours appeal to you (That's usually when you get to and through the first couple nights of dungeon crawling), if so, go for the goal, if not, well, you tried.
