Preview for Wukong leaked
Some articles also got taken down
>3 stances, all have unique moveset for the staff
>you get new gear
>there is a skill tree
>get side quests from NPCs
Between this and Phantom Blade 0, I am glad we are getting new action RPGs that distance themselves from the Souls formula.
No disc with the game on it, no buy.
I still haven't bought Baldurs Gate 3. When is the physical copy coming out?
Seems closer to Nioh than Dark Souls.
I'm sold.
It's just soul shit anyway in the end so it's a hard pass for me, but I hope this game succeeds and mock fromslop so hard into bankruptcy
Nice try marketeers.
Cope. Wu Kong looks awesome and there won't be any homosexualy ass politics to break immersion. I'm going to rip it up and you're going to continue to cope.
Oh shit I'm getting nioh vibes from the combat and the character controller state machine look much better than what I thought it would be. No floaty movements or weird animation built on top of the default UE character blueprints.
shill harder chink
>>3 stances, all have unique moveset for the staff
>>you get new gear
is a skill tree
>>get side quests from NPCs
We knew all of these though
I didn't. Thanks for the thread OP
love nioh
gonna check it out
>>you get new gear
is a skill tree
>>get side quests from NPCs
Wow it's a video game
But the guy in the video is already wrong. There IS a blocking mechanic. You turn into stone and the next enemy attack bounces off. You're immobilized while in this form.
Yes, it's literally a hardening mechanic from Mortal Shell but it's something Wukong did in the novel so I guess it's fine.
I think there's also -some- kind of a parry/deflect mechanic I saw in the previews but it wasn't elaborated on.
>You turn into stone and the next enemy attack bounces off
yes, but it's a spell, not something you can do consecutively like sekiro or something.
video in the OP says there's a block/deflect thing but it's only for projectiles
That's when he spins the pole, we saw that multiple times. It can also do damage up close, like when he used it on that stunned dragon.
But there's also a timed deflect ability shown in some videos.
that sounds like DMC more than Nioh though
ching chong ping pong
Why does every new action game shilled on this board has to mention souls when they don't play like souls at all? Fromsoft lives rent free on the Gankerermin's small pea brain every second.
Wuxia bros... these are our humble beginnings
I can't wait for wuxiaslop to come out and chinks to realize there's a big market in the west for those kind of stories.
4/5 chinese games I follow on steam the devs don't even consider an english translation because they genuinely think there's not enough people interested in them.
humble???
>one of the stances involves monke sitting on top of his staff and the longer you can maintain it, the longer the staff becomes
soul
>distance themselves from the Souls formula by using the Souls formula
grifter threaad
Looks good and fun
Why do journos hate it?
Which journos? Where?
In my head, they're everywhere
Understandable, keep fighting anon.
Every time they mention this game they keep seething about sexism.
What a lame excuse... WIll they add a real phisical version someday?
Every single time. No matter how irrelevant it is.
There's also other gems like that one article that has a headline that goes something like "I'M AN ASIAN AND I AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD THIS GAME BECAUSE THE DEVS ARE BIGOTS" or whatever. Further proving that Asian-Americans are the number one problem.
Found it. It's not just IGN.
>But then there’s the controversy. In 2020, comments from Game Science founder and CEO Feng Ji sparked a debate about the treatment of female gamers and had people proposing boycotts.
>These are weird and kind of gross statements to make on a public forum, to be sure, but not necessarily indicative of bigotry. However, some also cited the company’s 2015 recruiting advertisements, which were highly and inexplicably sexualised, making some feel it indicated a sexist company culture. He also said that Black Myth: Wukong “needed no female players” alongside some other stereotypes about women and gay people.
>I know some gamers like to ignore the actions of companies as long as they make good games. I am not one of those gamers.
Basically, kill all Asian-Americans.
ok...so the devs ARE sexist? I mean I saw their recent response to the controversy and it was literally an anti-female scizobabble rant. they ain't beating the allegations like that
Sexism is morally correct, because men and women are biologically (and hence, psychologically) different, and therefore treating them the same is illogical. have a nice day.
>you have to sexualize women in the workplace and make them feel harassed and uncomfortable because of biology
ok morons. you are literally the reason why shit like #metoo had to happen
Shut the frick up and lynch yourself, roastie.
>ok...so the devs ARE sexist?
They aren't. Women like different things than men because they are biologically different. You can't satisfy both and it's fine to focus on one demographic for your product. Stating this obvious fact is not sexism.
>scizobabble
You are a troony and you will be erased. Pendulum soars.
If it plays more like nioh than souls I might pirate this liveleak game.
Does he get a cloud he can ride on? This is very important.
Probably not in the actual gameplay. In the very first trailer they showed him riding on top of a cloud and fighting against the heaven's generals but I dunno how they could implement that in the full game.
He does turn into a cicada and fly around.
I think that may depend on how the maps are traversed. If it's an interconnected world, a riding cloud might get utilized as a fast travel or controllable to view the landscapes. If it's overworld->level based like Nioh, probably not.
>that distance themselves from the Souls formula.
I wish
I've been really excited seeing the games coming out of South Korea and China lately. Their stories are usually dog shit but they have a refreshing gameplay- and atmosphere-first approach I've found lacking in Japanese and western releases as of late (especially western.) I don't hate western games like some people here, I just think these games fill a niche western games have left open for awhile
>>you get new gear
is a skill tree
>>get side quests from NPCs
WOAH.....
If this game succeeds and wins GOTY it’s literally all over for the western games industry, for decades Asian games outside of Japan were just seen as mobage shit or flash games, some Chinese studio coming out of nowhere and making a GOTY quality game would just make all publishers shift their funding to China.
Phantom Blade Zero is also looking good, and Crimson Desert is probably getting new info on its release this gamescom.
>Phantom Blade Zero is also looking good
It looks alright for an indie but it's still a long way off. It's too janky and it needs a lot of polish. Honestly, I'd rather play Wo Long. Mechanically deeper while still being Wuxia.
>Crimson Desert
It's an pseudo-MMO/GAAS. Not an actual game like Dragon's Dogma or Elden Ring or even AssCreed.
Genuinely just how braindead are you chinks?
It just seems like a boss rush simulator, where is the fun?
>It just seems like fun simulator, where is the fun?
?????????????????
I mean it's not fun like Nioh 2, where you have different weapons and have to learn stances etc, and can customize your character.. I am not a fan of staff as a weapon..
Depends on how good the enemy variety is and how interesting they are to fight, I don't know, a lot of the fights shown in the gameplay footage just look pathetically easy you just dodge around everything and you're safe.
>Between this and Phantom Blade 0, I am glad we are getting new action RPGs that distance themselves from the Souls formula.
journos and normies call them both soulslikes lmao
They're tagged as one, wukangz is literally a rollslop.
Even IGN said Phantom Blade is explicitly not a Soulslike. And that much is obvious in the demo.
>They're tagged as one
On Steam? Are you moronic?
Dumb Black personhomosexual.
Oh so you're illiterate as well. Fricking ape Black person.
It's souls-clone to the T whether you like it or not. I've seen the gameplay, quite literally rolling simulator.
Looks good. Lack of parry seems like a bummer at first, but if dodge is well done it should be alright
>Looks good. Lack of parry seems like a bummer at first, but if dodge is well done it should be alright
What's meant to be the problem, I unironically don't know. The parry thing or?
So what are these games called, because I keep seeing games like this and Stellar Blade and Jedi referred to as some mealy mouthed, 'well kind of souls-like, but not actually souls like, ahh umm' Is it just "action RPG?"
>Is it just "action RPG?"
yeah
It's hard to avoid the souls influence while also appealing to GAMERS these days
Is Ninja Gaiden a soulslike?
Is Onimusha, or Dragons Dogma, or Metal Gear Rising, or DMC?
Im really tired of the souls formula but not of hack and slash games
Literal malware.
>Made in China
Also spyware.
Only reason I'm buying it is because I hate consulting firms. I do not need to see the previews or leaks, nor am I hyped.
It's so easy to manipulate an average Gankerirgin.
The enemy design looks so fricking basic
?si=tefbZ71y9g-O1TOk
Nice gaymplay wukeks
>3:42 and onwards
God SotE will rape this so hard.
You guys DID pre-order your collector's editions, right?
No marketeer.
Wher....wheres the game?
There won't be any physical discs at launch due to logistics issues. Even the physical editions will just have a digital activation code for the game.
Game?
No but I wish I did. I like the new look for the monkee. Too late I guess
lol?
Thank God they refused the call.
Game looks so good
My only fear is about console performance since the thing in running in UE5
GOTY candidate?
SOTY (Slop Of The Year)
