BD isn't RPG Factory and wasn't by SE. It was Silicon Studio and SE fricked over BD many times.

But these are all several years or even a decade apart (TWEWY 1). Squaresoft used to make kino after kino every single goddamn year, now fricking look at them.

Did you notice the new marketing tactic?
      >omg all these games
      >if you actually look at the games there's like 1-2 worth playing and it's the very low budget ones

The only good game for sure on that list is the Live A Live remake. Everything else is not worth full price or even worth buying.

FFXI, the game that killed them, was fully developed and release prior to the merger.

XI didn't killed Squeenix you moron.

It killed any chance of them making another good game, as nearly every bad FF after it has its issues tracing back to XI. MMO cancer ruined SE.

          Anonymous

XII (zodiac edition) is pretty good, Squeenix went into the shitter when they fricked everything with FFXIV 1.0 and had to milk FFXIII because they almost went into bankruptcy.

      Anonymous

XI was the best FF they ever released for its time.

The real problem with SE is management hell and staff that couldn't adapt to an HD workflow for PS3/360 in a timely matter. Western devs were fricking stomping them on both the graphical fidelity (formerly SEs strong suit) and dev time ends.

The actual gameplay to cutscene ratio is like 1:10

        Anonymous

yea? post-game is just gameplay though. And more often than not the gameplay is fun enough to warrant a new game + where you can skip all cutscenes.

          Anonymous

No even referring to your pic related, the issue I found since at least ff13 is that you can’t do shit without getting interrupted by cutscenes every 2 minutes, they somehow managed to do worse in remake since they literally slow down your movement to a crawl so the npc can talk at you. It stunts any replayability value when even the skip button has a cooldown function that makes you wait a second after pressing it in a game that is infested by cutscenes

oh, you mean that way. yea, i actually don't like 7R for it's terrible pacing. Both that and XIII aren't my game of choice when it comes to gameplay either. You definitely got a point there but it doesn't really matter to me; someone who skips through these things after the first run anyway.

            Good point.
I'm liking remake but Jesus does it take walking simulator and run with it.
I've got too much of a backlog to replay most gsmes so I'll live.
Only really games like DMC are built around replayability anyways.

yea there may not. but that's just how i feel about the game. and to be real honest with you: once i plug this computer all of you people are gone. And once again i'm left alone with my own thoughts. And my own thoughts say they don't like 7R.

I wish SoP had a bigger budget, it deserved to be the big JRPG all those filtered journalists were expecting. Length and Content-wise that is, I love the gameplay.

I'm honestly fine with what we got. Fun gameplay and a big incentive to replay the game with higher difficulties. The trick is to take it easy and return to it whenever you feel like some SoP action again. Never force yourself to end that big grind session in one go. Take some leftover home.
My biggest wish is them letting me chain weapon abilities freely regardless of the weapon. Senshin stance is fun but i want to decide myself how my combo should look like. For every weapon. There are some fun ideas for the broad sword but the game won't let me.

i mean yea i might as well play a fightan or DMC instead (which i also do btw). But there is (at least for me) a massive appeal in Action JRPG's that award you with more gameplaytechnical features the further you get into the game. By the time you reach post-game it transforms into something entirely different. And that's where the fun begins! That's what makes 2nd and 3rd playthroughs even more fun!

I never thought I'd see such blatant trolling as I have in this forum. Step away from the computer, drop the ham sandwich and back the FRACK off, gaijin. I hate to use that word but you've made me that serious. As hard as it may be for you to fathom, some of us here are actual fans of the Final Fantasy series (pre FFX) and Square's work in general. You can try to bash me for an avatar that I bought because I happen to be a dedicated fan of perhaps the most poignant, painstakingly woven tapestry of love, loss and vengeance ever to be put from pen to paper, but you would fail, just like all of you flamers do in real life. Who can say that the minds at Square Enix (note: appropriate portmanteau is SQUENIX, not the laughable SQUEENIX) were not inspired by the works of William Shakespeare or Chuck Palahniuk? Cloud's bastard sword has more akin with the bastard sons of Macbeth than it does any armament or basilard of the time. The Honey Bee Club in Midgar reminds me more of the Fight Clubs than any brothel. So please, use your brains, not your sarcasm, and step up to the intellectual plate, or leave this forum and take your "haterade" with you.

that's not a Square merge thing though. The japanese market is not profitable anymore ever since japs stopped buying consoles. most japanese companies ditched their experimental creativity and play it save to have a more stable fanbase in the west. And yet Square is still the more creative one among them, trying new things with every new Final Fantasy game and such. They never played it save and the market literally isn't forgiving them for it.

I think Nomura loves this game. Kingdom Hearts 3 got the Einhander guy to do gummi ship stuff so you can actually get the Einhander and fight an Einhander boss to Thermosphere. It was also in World of Final Fantasy.
