I have mine still seated in, but unplugged so I don't hear the gears inside it spin up whenever I boot it up. Only used it to install no more than 10 driver discs over the past decade.
good.
physical gays are the reason artificial scarcity and scalping is a thing.
hope nintendo goes even further to make them switch to digital only by making even less physical copies.
Kinda sucks. If a game needs to pull shit from a server constantly, it don't matter if it was purchased physical or digital. Basically the service-model all these major games follow. All those "games" are like digital theme-park attractions that will one day close, and the ticket (the license) you purchased will just no longer work once that happens. I'd be more upset about the disc-less future if games were not as reliant on some online components in order to be fully experienced.
A good thing is that storage has gotten cheaper. 1-2 tb SSDs are soo cheap nowadays. Just frickin get one of those. Also have a TB external for games if you don't wanna crack the console open to swap drives. I have a m8 that has one for his Series S, it works fine.
They're still great for secondary storage because they're cheap and stable.
God, if I could only afford to get a Tape setup. You can buy a petabyte of that for like 400 bucks these days.
Just imagine how many VGRemix songs I could store. Gosh.
death of physical media is going to have a negative affect on digital media too. enjoy having huge unoptimized disc space and even worse optimization when devs are in the permanent early access model, licensing issues and availability once modern hardware shifts architecture again. digital despite it's conveniences is ultimately anti consumer in the end
The bottom one has a disc drive though
>The bottom one has a disc drive though
why are sonygays like this?
actual answer: They are desperate to explain away abysmal physical software sales as a huge shift to digital
I haven't had a Disc drive in my PC since 2013.

Same but I use it install old PC games I bought decades ago, fail to get them to run on a modern machine, uninstall them, and repeat every year or so.
download them from archive.org
Been thinking about getting a USB one just to burn Dreamcast games, personally.
Same. I had one on my laptop which I used to rip music albums and I kinda miss that.
It's worth it. I got a 10 TB external drive and it's just so cheap. I use it for all my backup stuff.
The new PS5 model has a detachable disc drive
>detachable
is this the hill sonygays will die on?
good.

Why does everything look more appealing in black, including the Series S?
Especially penises
I love black penises
Designed for american sensibilities.

Bros I love the Series S so much. The best part is how it makes morons seethe.
just sell your physical media on a usb 3 stick
disc drives are expensive, slow and bulky

unoptimized storage space*
Yeah and all the games stayed on those discs.
Enjoy your SSDs with nothing to play, zoomers. Sorry.
And cartridges stand superior once again. Another medium outlived by cartridges. We literally can't stop winning cartridge chads!
