He has such a fricking nice voice it's seriously hard to be mad. Old OVA rance sounds like a crusty old man and it's funny, new OVA rance just sounds cheap but 03 Rance is fricking GOD TIER.
Yao Kazuki was his best voice and that is a hill i'm willing to die on.

Arunaru was responsible for broski and he fricked off after Sengoku because he wanted a raise and MG didn't want to give it to him.
The raise he was going to receive was based on the expected revenue off of Rance getting onto Steam. And then Rance was banned from Steam so their expected revenue and profit got decimated.
Then Arunaru blew his lid.
It also ignores that the primary reason MG's pay is low is because they aren't strict with schedules like other companies.

I wonder how many people on Ganker has even played a Rance game at all nowadays.
And not just Rance. I kind of get the feeling that younger and newer posters are more averse towards eroge in general. Which is kind of odd. I always imagined it'd be the other way around. Kids growing up with smartphones and internet in the palm of their hands, always having access to porn. And yet they come across as more prude somehow.

The heyday of Rance on Ganker was mainly due to the fact that a porn game had amazing gameplay (and setting/music to a lesser degree) for actual videogame standards. Now everyone who is interested knows so there's nobody making new threads informing everyone about what it is.

I think the dialogue is funny and entertaining, the gameplay is nothing special (Better than Evenicle to me at least) but the writing alone made it worth playing
For the last few weeks you had some autistic seething over Alicesoft games despite never having played a Rance game. People on Ganker seem to only know them for Evenicle and Dohna Dohna these days

I might just be an odd bloke. But I love the humour in Quest. It's made me laugh a lot more than most of the Rance games, and I already consider the Rance games to be generally funny.
But I like the gameplay too. It's not a classic DRPG like 6 is. But it's got dungeon crawling all the same, and some of that resource management for long treks that comes with it. And new items and characters that adds to your party the further you play, which adds to the amount of options to consider and relative complexity to the treks outwards.
The gameplay might look like or even feel like Evenicle. But it really does play like something else. Again I'd compare it more to Rance 6 in how it actually treats the dungeon crawling and party management etc.
So if you liked Rance 6 I'd assume you'd be pretty likely to enjoy Rance Quest too.
Quest is so episodic that it feels like filler and the amount of RNG in the itemization combined with how equipment matters more than level makes it feel grindy unlike the previous games

It's still insane to me that Skyrim grew to be as big and popular as it is when it's pretty definitively the worst TES game by far.
I wondered this for a long time too but then realized it came out on PS3 and 360.
It's mostly because of the mods. Don't expect TES6 to eclipse Skyrim's popularity though, Bethesda has been pushing harder for paid mods and microtransactions which will in turn slowly kill the modding scene.
But Oblivion and Morrowind have mods too.
Meant bethesda's greed will kill the modding scene for TES6, older games are safe.
I'm not big fun of Skyrim but I still run it sometimes to walk around . It indeed hit immersion strings right. I think only KCD was able to achieve something similar in this decade
