>Story, new characters and music, shit.
>Space sections easy as frick because of twin stick controls.
>Bosses mostly shit.
>Levels are completely forgettable.
>Most new weapons were either rehashes or just shit.
>Enemy variety, shit.
>Sixaxis cancer.
>Combat devices can't get upgrades.
>Teleporting cragmites can go frick themselves
Only the raritanium upgrades were a good addition.
ACIT is overrated as frick with its own share of bullshit but that's for another thread.

the raritanium upgrades is actually the thing i hated the most, and it has stuck with every game since.
it's the only bad thing about rift apart imho
>the only bad thing about rift apart
homie please
rift apart was much more fun than crack in time, at least for me
it felt like it had less annoying clank puzzles, and some of the glitch puzzles were optional
a smoother experience overall
CiT gets sucked off WAY too much in here, it's just as mediocre as ToD and nexus
Crack has the best story by far and introduced the hoverboots which are the greatest innovation the series has gotten since weapon leveling. Plus it has a huge amount of side content with most of it focusing on platforming.
you know what, i guess i'll have to give them all another shot
Rift Apart is objectively the best game since the PS2 days but still has its issues
>shit music
>horrible story
>mediocre enemy variety (not that bad really but it needed a couple more enemeis towards the end of the game, the undead versions were so lame)
>boss repetition up the ass
>ratchet being a homosexual in the reboot is one thing but in Nexus, the last game in the og canon, he was still a chad so the change here made no sense
>wasted opportunity to make the unkillable monster a tense sequence where you have to use your brain, they even tell you to break that shit to distract it
>riding the flying monster the second time sucked so much ass, another wasted opportunity to have some cool flying combat but it was just shit
>I wanted the Pixelizer back from the reboot
>CiT gets sucked off WAY too much in here, it's just as mediocre as ToD and nexus
correct, I actually like it less than ToD
ToD still feels like a PS2 ratchet and clank game in presentation, just not a very good one
Rift apart suffered from obnoxious mary sue characters and the fact that no one every shut the frick up.
rivet gets a lot of screentime but she's an interesting, flawed character, so it didn't bother me in the slightest.
kit kinda looks like shit imho, but she also goes through some character development
>characters
Mediocre
>nobody ever shut the frick up
This is my problem with the game. It got very annoying when everyone talks talks talks even outside cutscenes.
Ratchet's personality is bland. I didn't mind Rivet as it's something different but I don't think I can take another game with her. Or with that said not with this boring Ratchet either.
I miss the PS2 ratchet so much.
Frick you A Crack in Time is great and would have been the perfect ending to the series.
I agree Tools is meh though.
this game was very good, would play again 10/10
the planet with the dinosaurs was my favourite.
>Uncharted 1, Tools of Destruction, Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, The Eye of Judgement, Folklore, Warhawk, MotorStorm
PS3 exclusives of 2007
heavenly sword, tools of destruction, folklore was good games.
2008
>MGS4
>Haze
>Resistance 2
early ps3 days were really dark times
Valkyria Chronicles was also 2008
Resistance 2 coop was pretty good
Res2 coop and pvp were great. Campaign was decent at least.
People will argue, but you're right. Outside of Azimuth I think ToD is a better game than ACiT because it's novel rather than reusing characters and weapons
>ToD is a better game than ACiT because it's novel
But Tools is just more of the same formula as the PS2 games? Crack is the one that tried innovating with things like hoverboots, moon exploration, and Clank's new gameplay. And sure they brought back Nefarious which wasn't necessary but he was still funny and a much better villain than Tachyon.
people seem to forget Clank besides his kino puzzles had those shitty minigames where you have to fix the anomalies on small planets, those were ASS
hoverboots were good but overall the arsenal was mediocre as frick and Azimuth being with you half the game was so fricking tiring
enemy variety... good lord, at least fighting enemies in ToD feels better because the weapons are better
soundtrack.. lel
this game is the definition of mixed bag, lots of good things and a lot of shit, ToD didn't innovate much, if at all, but had way less bullshit to deal with so it is a much more pleasant experience, despite being nothing compared to the PS2 games
>enemy variety...good lord
Was Tools really that much better when you mostly fought the fish guys and pirates? There's like a handful of unique enemy types besides them.
>soundtrack.. lel
>he doesn't count space radio
gay.
random guitarring 100% optional doesn't count as soundtrack
The jazz and synth stations were good.
>it's optional so it doesn't count
They recorded like three hours worth of music for it and you listen to it every time you're in space, it absolutely counts.
Only the first 4 were real ratchet and clank games. Memory hole everything released after ACiT
Trying to turn ratchet and clunk more than it is was a mistake. Two buddies going trough the different galaxias and getting into trouble was all it needed to be.
ToD is okay, average its not as good as any of the PS2 games but in a vacuum its not bad either
I just have a hard time remembering literally anything that happened in ToD outside of whenever those pirate guys show up
A Crack In Time should've been one of the greatest video games of all time. I hate Sony so much it's unreal.
I remember its development was rushed but what did they have to cut or change?
The entire Ratchet series but especially the PS3 trilogy were pressed for time leading to staff burnout (PS2) and shortened dev cycles and cut features (PS3) and Sony chasing various trends like online multiplayer, 4-player co-op led to splitting resources into Insomniac NC.
I can't remember everything but they dramatically shortened Azimuth's story arc, the ship/planet stuff was going to be more involved, the time jumping more involved, and so on. There's a YT guy named Golden Bolt who has a long, very autistic breakdown.
Into the Nexus was quite good for what it was, hit the tone well, characters weren't pussified like in Rift or overly serious like in ToD/ACiT.
ToD is boring as frick.
ACiT is the best game in the series, eat a dick.
every single bad thing of tod is also in CiT
