Yes. I still have you behind my monitor. I enjoy playing with your younger brother's deck though.

chances they'll anounce steam controller 2.0 along with the dock for the deck? now that they solved whatever legal bullshit holding them back it can happen right?

Yes and after playing my Steam Deck I am desperate for a Steam Controller 2.0. I liked the SC but it had problems (no DPad lmao). A revision with all the improvements of the Steam Deck? I'd buy 4 instantly and never go back to Xbox/Dualshock.

      >deck
You don't see what valve's gonna do to that thing. Do you?

? What are they going to do?

        What are they gonna do?
Hell, what CAN they do to a PC that lets you install any OS you want?

If you mean stop supporting it? Then who cares. You can 1: install Windows on it and 2: it already works well as is, and it's an open platform, it's a PC. By the way, Valve never dropped SteamInput support nor did they stop updating it after stopping with selling of the Steam Controller.

          >Install windows on it

this, even if valve stopped support the steam OS is mostly open source, the community would pick it up and keep it going a best they could, it'd be preferable to keep an unsupported steam OS running over bloat windows 11 shitting up the device

          >install Windows on it
          why?
even if Steam Deck is getting shafted steamos will still be pushed

            >why?
Some people would prefer that. You don't have to, it's just another option that morons that say Valve will drop support for it don't understand.

They still have shitton of people in the queue

It's a PC, just like steam controller is a controller. I still use my steam controller to this day. The only thing that will deprecate a Steam Deck is a newer steam deck for the same price but better specs. I'd prefer if they didn't drop support, but even if they DID, it's not going to have much of an effect on it.

Oh no, they're releasing a pre-built PC you can install an open source OS on! Help me console-sama I'm going insane!!!

You don't even need to use Steam on it (probably, I know the SC works without Steam on Linux, not sure about the Deck support), so really the worst thing they can do is flood the market with a bunch of tech-illiterate Linux users who will annoy any holdouts stubbornly sticking to Windows exclusivity with complaints of "Why doesn't your App work on my Steam deck?". Essentially the same thing Wangblows is doing by making sure they're default OS for most laptops and pre-builts.

Customization was nice but It just felt like ass to hold
Also the D-Pad was completely useless for 2D games
I miss the back paddles though, that shit should have become the new standard for PS5/X2

It was pretty interesting. It would've been great, had I ever needed a wireless mode of controlling my PC. However, I still liked browsing the net through this just for the hell of it - the controller has a nice feel and I like the haptics and such.

    >the thumbstick in mine is dying
    >Don't have flux to desolder and solder in a new one
    >apparently the spacing is a bit weird and standard thumbstick caps don't fit either
    This controller was too good

    >develops ergonomics primarily centered around the touchpads
    >gets pressured into including stick and facebuttons
    >fricks it up and organizes them into the standard primary and secondary groupings
    >doesn't change the ergonomics now that the groupings are different, stick and face buttons are uncomfortable to use because the form of the controller is intended to lift the hand up and give the thumb maximum freedom of movement for the circle touchpads but it just doesn't work when you angle away from them because it changes how your thumb sits on the controller
    >final controller has cheap feeling bumpers
    >flexing the battery cover feels cheap and stiff and ultimately gets them patent trolled
They probably should've started over once they realized the two touchpads weren't enough but I guess that sunk cost was pretty tough.
I'm excited for a V2 at least now that they've gotten some more controllers under their belt.

I don't know that I'd agree with you, the Thumbstick and button placement was more than adequate for hundreds of hours of Isaac, finally finishing super meat boy and Platinum'ing Crash N. Sane.

Would have loved it if they didn't make it a shiny plastic finish. That feels horrible as a controller surface
