Mid dogshit. Might be salvageable if they removed the sherry and ada segments and made the sewers not shit.
I borrowed the game and never got out of the police station when i was a kid but i played through the remake and thought it was pretty good.
It gave me the opportunity to experience this game, since I wasn't able to get into the original's fixed camera design. It's pretty good. I beat it once as Leon, but got bored halfway through Claire's.
Play the original if you aren't a moron
graphics mean little to nothing and if you had half a brain you would know how to operate retroarch

it came out when I was really really sick and I was very grateful to have something so fun to play while I was in a lot of pain for a long time
i enjoyed a lot the longplay with the bondage mod
it was pretty good
Playing through the originals right now, I like them more. That said, I think the mods are fricking great in the remakes.
The new destructible clothing mods are great!
Tremendous experience
There is a lot of merit in modernizing the gameplay while still keeping path tracing and survival elements like in the old games, especially in harder difficulties
You do have more agency as a player without tank controls and in third person, but you still have to manage your resources and plan your routes if you don't want to get bitten by an army of crawling zombies because you popped everyone's knees and ran past them at some point

Its good but I think the original is better in terms of music and voice acting and story and the atmosphere and the 2 A/B scenarios. Still really liked the remake though. Was my goty that year.

It's not a remake of RE2. Reimagination at best, at least the game is good
I'm still nostalgic about the original RE2, but the remake is better in any way

One of my all time favorites.
The only thing holding it back from being a perfect 10 is the stories not coinciding. Unique boss fights for the 2nd run so the stories would be properly cohesive would push it into masterpiece tier. Otherwise its pretty much a flawless game. Rewards planning, punishing gameplay, amazing aesthetic and atmosphere.
The soundtrack among other things is an insult to the original, and charging money for the old soundtrack just pours salt in the wound. It's the last RE I've played because nothing I've seen come out since looks any better.
The original did a lot of things better(Claire and Leon cross each other more often, A/B scenarios were core part of the design rather than an afterthought etc.), but I must say they did manage to capture the experience of the original somewhat well, in my pessimism I've expected them to turn it into more of an action game and they didn't do so. Shame all this cannot be said about the remake of 3.

Might have been cool but after a few hours I felt like I was just playing NG+ and not an actual campaign, so I quit playing. May go back and complete eventually.

Very good, could have been improved by ditching Claire campaign and committing to a more detailed single campaign, also the lack of music really stands out as being one of those "of the time" decisions that hasn't aged too well. Both RE3R and RE4R proved that music can work fine in the remakes and it's not cringe or whatever like the devs were scared of in their vision of modernizing the game. But overall can't complain it's a fun game
I don't like it as much as I like the original (which is one of my favourite games) but it's still fantastic
