There's probably less than 10 stealth missions in the game, especially after patches that made stealth missions regular missions.

Lower difficulties have a grinding mode but it's unnecessary. You're expected to be able to run straight through the campaign without replays or grinding. With the slight exception of chapter 4 but that's a weird one.

I'm getting into Unicorn Overlord right now. Played Suikoden ages ago but to be entirely honest I remember very little of it. XCOM if you want to count it as one, Valkyria Chronicles, Battle Brothers. If you want to count Wasteland 3, loved that one, too, but I'm not sure I'd call it wholly a SPRG.
Unicorn Overlord is PISS EASY, pure baby mode compared to this.
I guess the difficulty is kind of similar to XCOM's hardest difficulty.
This game has TONS of enemies and it encourages you to actually USE YOUR ITEMS every stage.
The setting is kind of similar to Valkyria Chronicles, simply put, 2 nations fighting for/with a superhuman specimen (Valkyria) that can change the tides of war.
I don't think this is as difficult as XCOM hardest difficulty, but quite close.

That item is basically a reverse holo gravel for your team, it saves you a few turns and makes you move further which sometimes can be invaluable either by enabling you to get an S rank dependent on turns or dodging a sneaky patrolling fricker.

I wouldn't use it after getting 3+ advanced scanners, now it's basically just a body for the enemy to target in which case camouflage standees are just better since they aggro all enemies regardless of targeting priority.
Useful as frick before you get multiple advanced scanners but afterwards it just doesn't justify it's slot, unlike a lower tier turret like the standard one which at least kills snipers for 2AP.
Beyond that I agree with everything. I use stun grenade more often than RC bombs though, I fricking hate elite scouts and counter attacks.

I've yet to find a bug that isn't a text problem. I can't vouch for all the stages since I've been playing slowly since release so maybe something changed during these last patches.

I broke a stealth stage by apparently reloading my last turn too quickly because I had alerted the enemy and more mooks spawned, after reloading and going one turn back , the newly spawned mooks didn't dissapear.
Honestly I found no bug during my playthru but that was before all these new patch (the stealth mission nerf, casual2)

I read that people were frustrated that there's no leeway in pathing to get S ranks in certain missions; that enemies randomly spawn in and can detect you; that there are random enemies hidden around the map that can cause a reset if detected, though we have the scanner so that should negate that complaint, no? People were just not using the scanner or were enemies camouflaged from the scanner, too?
A few stealth missions used to instant fail when detected, now you can go rambo if detected I think.
I feel like people who complained most likely too proud and going for challenge+ S rank for their first time and challenge+ means you restart whole mission if fail.
Probably not being careful, checking hidden enemies in concealed tiles (forest, house, etc) and placing scanner next to them.

Some stealth missions were a bit too tight with action points but they're all very doable now. And there usually is an autosave you can load.

Stealth mode usually falls into puzzle territory and in earlier patches you just fail the mission altogether if spotted.
I know we've got soporific darts but do guns also get suppresors? I seen there are barrel options on guns and that's what my mind jumped to. Can enemies even become alerted to sounds such as gunshots or explosives? Those commando units have some crazy reach: 10 movement and 6 range is insane.
They get suppressors but those don't make the gun stealthy. Only Mendo gets a skill for silent kills later.
They're always alerted by attacks. Recently they updated one of Mendo's skill to do silent kills for 0 SP
Suppressors just increase crit rate and crit damage. When you break stealth, enemies in a large area around will become alerted. When you re-enter stealth, they enter search mode around the area where the disturbance was. If they don't find anything in 5 turns, they revert to prior behavior and walk back to their previous positions. Which allows for some serious Viet-cong tactics where the enemy can be lured closer without you being attacked, and then you sprint out of the woods to delete them in an ambush.

I'm pretty sure Oleg and Sugar are capable of doing more than one attack in a turn. Besides you get to play as Beria and Kiril, whom both have their own set of skills, so it's game balance kind of thing
Those are pretty normal SRPG rules. It's your side being able to move-shoot-move that's unusual, but enemies have super long danger ranges to compensate. Also elite snipers are super Black folk that are basically always worth burning a turret to kill if your don't have other options.
Jefuty is effectively prescient. And even when her memories run out she is still literally a 3 dimensional projection of a higher dimensional being.

You can get the two Shrikes from phase one in range if you pull the elid they are targeting with dash. It can extend forever.
