So the consensus seems to be her stone always breaks if you stop the ritual. I've been putting off her romance because that seemed like a bad ending but if that's the only way it can end I guess I'll check it out next playthrough. Feels so stupid when you run into soulstones in Commoragh spire and no one thinks to take some back just in case.

Don't forget you also visit a crone world where they are harvested.
Devs wanted to give her romance a sad ending, but did so in a stupid plot-hole filled way.

This and it's annoying not having a choice of what your character does, you always die in bed at home instead of, I don't know, living 1000+ years as a biomancer or going off to larp as an Eldar with Yrliet and planning to put your own soul in a soulstone which logically you'd find after searching all that time. It's all muh tragic human elf romance trope.

And they could've made it sad without stupid stuff too. Like, ending where she leaves could say that she felt that Path of the Outcast is not for her anymore, that she misses her people, struggles living among humans and that RT didn't want her to cripple herself for him so he convinced her to reunite with her kin

          >planning to put your own soul in a soulstone
Wouldn't really be much point in a human doing that though would there. The Eldar scoop up all the crystals and upload those souls to their craftworld's afterlife cloud. A human soul would just be in a stone doing nothing forever until someone broke it.

In a rare case could they upload a "friend of the Aeldari" like the RT eho saved many of them to the circuit to be with Yrliet? Or at least give them a shared soulstone to chill together if such a thing exists in small variety (there is a big one on crone world that consumed navigators and eldar alike)

              >In a rare case could they upload a "friend of the Aeldari" like the RT eho saved many of them to the circuit to be with Yrliet?
Seems extremely doubtful. Unless somehow the farseers of a craftworld foresaw that having a dull, crude, harmful human soul poisoning their most sacred sanctum would somehow be of great benefit.

It's not that they couldn't potentially tolerate a rogue trader human, but mixing souls is kinda a different deal.

What if human soul would make a lot of psychic baby souls with eldar souls, filling Infinity Circuit to the brim and eventually awakening Ynnead?

I mean, if you've done nothing but help the Eldar and you can soulbond with one that should count for something. But at least keeping your soul in a stone for Yrliet to talk to instead of Yrliet watching it disappear would be cool.

I guess they could make an exception for the person that saved so many of them and risked everything to do it. Or at the very least put him in a soulstone Yrliet could soulmeld with if that's possible.

They are Eldar. At best, they will treat you as their slightly less moronic pet. You won't give your dog a medal for protecting you from a bandit, right?

Depends in the lore they don't look down on humies THAT much. For instance in the books Eldar get sad over killing human civilians and one has a breakdown cause he killed a human child iirc.
Depends on who's writing them I guess.
I assume RT can at least get put in a rock that Yrliet can play soul explorer with.

You can get along with them pretty well if you pick all the Iconoclast choices. Also they can let Cassia keep a piece of the stone to keep her family's souls in, though that's clowns. Marazhai is a fricking deldar and it's possible to make him genuinely see you as an equal if you larp as a deldar well enough. If Yrliet already thinks you're ok enough to soulbond with this could work.

              https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Warp_Spider_(creature)
There is an antivirus in Infinity Circuits that destroys any noneldar presence in them. At best Space Elves will go "yeah, sure we will upload you alongside Yrliet" and then they actually do without telling you that you will get destroyed.

No idea could Eldar add an exception to that.
Otherwise just add him into a rock and slot it in a building. Think Autismo elf could communicate from infinity circuit anyway since it's linked to the rest of the Craftworld

It happens in Cassia's quest with her ancestors and Eldar sharing a big one, so yes those things do exist. I don't see Eldar wanting to upload a human to circuit despite him saving Aeldari and being their ally + I don't know if warp spiders can be called off to not purge him if for some reason they allowed him to enter the circuit.
This is the only possible happy ending for Yrliet and RT, since even if the RT managed to match her lifespan somehow they still wouldn't be able to spend eternity together and getting soulstoned would be the only way to do that (assuming it doesn't get destroyed).

                >"One day, Yrliet returned to find the elantach on {mf|his|her} deathbed — her search had taken decades, yet decades pass without notice for Aeldari. Yrliet spent the elantach's final days with {mf|him|her}, and when the time came for death to place its hand on the Rogue Trader's shoulder, she sank into {mf|his|her} world one last time. The elantach, young again, looked at her and smiled. Tears burned Yrliet's skin, and then the dim light of the human soul faded. Yrliet touched the elantach's wrist to check {mf|his|her} pulse. She closed her eyes, sighed, and left the von Valancius protectorate, never to return."

I was thinking some scenario where you find a new craftworld for Yrliet to join and you're eventually allowed to join them too, then it's really romantic if you agree you're both going into the circuit someday so you'll be together forever. Yeah it's a longshot but it's the closest I can imagine to a happy ending for them.

I don't think eldar would voluntarly allow human into Infinity Circuit in any circumstances. They'd just put human in stone or insert the stone in some structure. And to be put into stone not against your will you'd have to do something really extraordinary.

Also, there must be other ways to put your soul into something

Besides, I maybe want a happier ending, but what you're suggesting is just way too sweet

I'd be fine with just leaving it open-ended or have the RT have a say in what they plan on doing. This is actually my problem with most of the endings, they all act like once the game ends you're old and hole up in your office to do paperwork until you die while all your companions go off on quests and adventures without you.

You can't, you can romance him with a male RT too but he only treats you as an equal if you prove to him you're basically a deldar and that comes as a package deal with the sex and crew murder. If you don't romance him it's more that he'll help kill your enemies until the end of the game and then he goes to do his own thing.

Oh and his romance is all kinds of broken, you need toybox and ideally a guide to even get through it especially dom RT route. Had to do Yremeryss fight several times because some of his dialogue gives the opposite flags.

Yeah, turns out you have to bring Argenta to Commoragh and have Argenta and Ulfar in your party when you recruit Marz. May work with Heinrix instead of Argenta but I haven't tested it. Then you get the scene where they conspire to kill Marz, go back to the Pit and stop that, and then you start romance with Marz from there (where the dom/sub flags are good unlike the other way to start it where they're flipped) and that gets you the "trap Yremeryss" errand, which also bugs out half the time. Oh and the agonizer flags are still flipped, fricking patch tricked me because they fixed the dialogue but kept the bugged flags.
Then if you want to make him Archon you HAVE to let him kill anybody he wants on the ship in the Soulless quest (which bugs out almost every time) if you do dom route because you don't have enough Tempest flags otherwise. They've also changed the option to lock him up and it now breaks the romance, but surprise, they also made the free killing option (which you need) cause the romance to bug out because he has two fricking etudes with the same name and it checks the wrong one later so you can't get through the branding scene unless you unstart and restart it with toybox. And after all that fricking shit you hilariously need Iconoclast 4 to make sure to have the flags for true romance without letting him murder an officer. Stupid deldar, why are you so high maintenance.

It's easier if you do sub route, don't care about true romance end, don't care about Archon end or don't care about officers. Dom RT + true romance + Archon + keep officers is doable if you know how it works and babysit it through every step basically.

They are both great and really Marz is in charge in the dom RT route anyway, he just hides it better. The problem with dom RT is it's a challenge to also make him Archon because you lose points for branding him so you have to make those up by letting him have free rein of the ship which is currently buggy.

Dark Eldar get to be exempt because they're a background villain faction in 40k, thus the writets don't care about them beyond having them show up and be bad guys every once in a while.
Craftworld Eldar however are subhect to the influence of a writer whose idea of making them 'tragic' is to make them incapable of winning or being happy in a meaningful way, which often leads to episodes of plot-induced stupidity or randomly grimderp moments for Eldar ANY time they appear in a story.

This is why I like to let Yrliet do the ritual even if it breaks the romance. She can find meaning in following the Path of the Warrior and helping her kin, that's pretty happy and a win for her.

I'm not new, I get 40K is grimderp and Eldar are written to be tragic, they could have done a sad ending in a better way without plot holes.
          >You literally visit a crone world where they are harvested
          >You have Jae who can most likely aquire some through Cold Trader Kasballica ties
          >You have multiple Farseers in your debt that could help
          >It's implied RT lives short, but biomancy and tech can extend human lives into high hundreds or even over a thousand depending of what you use
They could have made it a tragic end in a more sensible way - one gets assassinated for being a species traitor etc

No, when you give Eklendyl the trapped farseer soul he grabs a soulstone off a nearby table and puts the soul into it. It's so dumb.

I don't understand why she can't just get a farseer to get a new one for her. Your choices can allow some of her craftworld's farseers to still be alive, and the one that comes with you from Commoragh should be willing to help her not lose her soul to Rape Satan.

Even if Yrliet isn't liked by the other dickhead elves it can't possibly be to the extent they would be like 'Yeah no, frick you, go be eaten by the Archenemy'. Especially not when they could trade with the rogue trader for helping with a new stone.

Yeah it's particularly stupid when you find soulstones throughout the game and that same farseer puts an Eldar soul into one.

Actually ridiculous, you can have Muaran and Eklendyl both in your debt and none of them would help Yrliet while they're chilling on your planet? And for fricks sake if you fail the skill checks Yrliet almost kills herself saving Marazhai from having his soul eaten because she says no matter how evil deldar are she can't stand by and let Sai'lanthresh take him.

    Hello, anons, Jae Heydari here

So, lately my man has aquired a "meditation friend", some pointy-eared harlot who doesn't know her place. He says they don't have sex and want to "establish a bond" and "know each other", whatever that means. But I just know she's spreading her xenolegs for him. Had to do this fight several times because of Marz-related bugs so I think I get it: before the fight starts you place everyone on the stairs as far away as you can get. The highest anyone can be without getting hit by incubi the first round is the tile closest to the stairs. Put your tanks there with everyone else hiding behind them (to try and survive Yremeryss shooting at them). If you have GS Pasqal he can help by putting zones up immediately. Then you start moving downwards as fast as you can while sniping the grotesques, works most of the time.

        Alright boys
I think Ive managed it right after posting that
Had to sacrifice Abe on the first turn to cover for the squad (unnecessarily in retrospective, since I forgot about his naval officer abillity), patheticaly Marzhai dropped dead to some bullshit, think that Ulfar, who was tanking like a motherfricker, kicked an Incubus on him right when things were turning up for us.
Every thing was going fine and managed to single her out and take her to double pounding town with Ulfar and Jimi while my PC gave covering fire, then she did her full heal extra turn bullshit trick and killed Jimi and downed Ulfar and called two 2 extra incubus who immediately played their turns and minced my PC since he was with his lasgun on his hand instead of his melee.
They immediatly go for Yrliet, who was the only one standing up and clibing up the stairs, and who thankfully had a shit ton of MP to gain distance for long enough for Ulfar to get up again and absolutely rape them with a heavy bolter from behind.

The funniest thing about the eldar in this game is that a dogmatic character is more likely to agree with them, but you need to be iconoclast to tolerate them enough to ally. Meaning that then you dislike them not because they're Xeno but because they are also dogmatic c**ts only in favor of the eldar.

I liked how she got you to destroy the Engine Vandals, that came in handy. Also people keep calling her dumb but yeah it's more that the warp and her shitty circumstances made her give in to emotion. Before that she was level-headed enough to consider the evidence that there was a Slaanesh cult on Janus. Also note that she actually realized Scalander was acting shady and followed him to find out he was working with deldar, no one else did that in the months that the RT, Jimmi, the Werserians etc spent hanging out on Dargonus.

Yeah that's the emotional part. What's sad is both Yrliet and the farseers tend to have this irrational hatred for each other caused by unfairly blaming each other for Crudarach because they feel the need to blame someone.

                >Outcasts aren't suppose to be hated
They kind of are. Outcasts are those that reject the paths and go out and do whatever. Some become rangers like Yrliet, others become corsairs. But ultimately they're all people that rejected craftworld society. Hated isn't the right word either, but like disregarded or discriminated against.
Game sometimes has Yrliet say she's on a path and that can lead one to believe that there's a path of the outcast, but there really isn't.

He doesn't hate Yrliet because she was an Outcast, he hates her because Crudarach Eldar traditionally went to the Path of the Warrior following the Path of Awakening, that way they can be trained in military procedure and ritual and better protect the Craftworld.
Yrliet went straight to Outcast after Awakening, effectively shirking tradition in favor of her own desire to wander.

                Anonymous

If that is true it is stupid, because path that eldar follow is supposed to suit them, *especially* one as dangerous as path of the warrior. It's not some kind of "next step", it's more of a calling. I hope you're exaggerating

                Anonymous

The issue is that the Path of the Outcast is effectively the Path of not having a Path. It's openly admitting that you have no calling, and that your only desire is to aimlessly wander until you feel like contributing to society.

good quest. very succinctly shows how the inquisition operates and how they will throw anyone under the bus even if unwillingly. Such a good fricking quest. My only beef is how there isn't much interaction between the dialogue choice you make at the end of it, and the conversation you have with him on the birdge. you can leave very vintriolic comments while on the planet, but on the bridge it's still all like "don't be sad uwu, let's play chess and have sex". C'mon!

his romance is a mess, one moment you have to baby him in commoragh even if your character is also a biomancer who just got tortured, next moment he's yelling at you about keeping xenos around
maybe bugs and sloppy coding like how you still can't talk to yrliet about her people after romancing her

        Anonymous

schizo writing seems to be a running theme in owlkek romances. They really don't know how to string different dialogue choices to form a coherent dialogue

          Anonymous

It sometimes feels like there are different people writing dialogue for the same character and they don't talk to each other. Like how Marazhai is a completely different character when you romance him in Commoragh vs when you romance him on the ship, not to mention flags and etudes being completely mixed up. It may also be caused by rushed development and having to change quests to fit them in so it makes them bug out. Pretty sure the majority of companion quests and errands had some kind of bug for me and they still haven't fixed a lot of them.

          Anonymous

Issue is that romances often conflict with the regular questline, resulting in apparent schizo behavior.
Owlcat really needs to just learn to disable certain flags for events and dialogue if a character's being romanced.

      Anonymous

Kingmaker is janky garbage and not worth playing. WotR is pretty good, but it's held back by the Pathfinder tabletop system simply not being very good, and it has a bunch of bloated feats that should exist (for example weapon specializations for weapons that barely exist, or straight up dont exist within the game outside of generic +1's etc).

      Anonymous

yes its stupid as frick its all about stacking as much buffs and ac as possible and armor is completely useless

      Anonymous

      >I heard the combat is super hard so you have to min-max to even stand a chance
only if you play above normal difficulty. you don't have to min max on daring (or maybe even core), but you have to know what you're doing because the build autism is 100 more expansive than in rt. be prepared to read a lot. the games themselves are great, but not as good as rt in most regards, but that's just my opinion, most would probably disagree

      Anonymous

Character building is extremely obnoxious if you're not familiar with the system, like you need to have taken such and such crap by this level or you've fricked up your entire build, or your character is useless until the whatever bonuses kick in and you can actually fight. Companions have an auto level option that usually ignores skills you need so to give them decent skills you have to read up on the details of all their shitty builds and what to take on each level. I have zero trouble with RT talents but Pathfinder shit feels like a constant chore and that's not even bringing up the need to buff all the time, at least you can't do that before fights in RT.

        Anonymous

Having heard not really bad stuff but about Pathfinder being really punishing i was a little bit afraid of jumping into RT but i have to say, unless you're too stupid to go through these obvious talent lines that create synergies, its quite difficult not to get satisfyingly OP in this.

How is the other 2 Owlcat games? I heard the combat is super hard so you have to min-max to even stand a chance

I have to disagree with the other anon about the character auto-levels. Their builds are fine for the most part, but they have a few wasted levels especially the mythic abilities (which are really important to be fair)
Issue is that if you change a single level of the auto leveling, you have to do it manually for the rest of the progression.
First time going through the game on normal or core you're fine with the auto level though.

          Anonymous

          >Issue is that if you change a single level of the auto leveling, you have to do it manually for the rest of the progression.
This right here is my problem, I'd happily leave them and not bother with it but sometimes none of your party members have the skills you need even if they'd be perfect for them but to do that you have to do their entire build.

            Anonymous

My biggest issue was Arue's mythic abilities selection I recal. They were fricking moronic. Something like an ability that boosted natural weapon damage because succs have natural weapons (claws), except she's a goddamn fricking ranger. She doesn't USE her claws in melee at all.

              Anonymous

I think they also gave Wenduag the brew potions feat. On a fighter, that doesn't cast spells, so she can't even brew potions, literal wasted feat.

      Depends on your team comp.
If you get a lot of +% damage then Precise Bolter is better.
If you're not stacking RoF over 14, then Precise Bolter is better.

If you are stacking RoF upwards to 20+ then heavy bolter is better.
If you are using a lot of +flat damage buffs then Heavy Bolter starts scaling faster.

Personally I prefer Bolters on my Argenta just because style and They Shall Weep is incredible (chapter 5 bolter), but Heavy Bolters are generally better and the Improved Heavy Bolter is insane.

Repostan this screen for the few anons that were asking me to post results of trying to save Yrliet's Soulstone
It still broke. Here is what I've did:
    >interrupted ritual since it mind wipes her
    >Icono alliance with Eldar on Janus
    >Did both of Yrliet's side quests fully - finding all Eldar ships and all 4 Farseers in Commorragh
    >Tell her not to blame herself for Crudarach and forgive the Farseer
Either my method was wrong or you can't save it and romance her. Judging by what others said about available endings the latter might be the case.

      >save Yrliet's Soulstone
      while romancing her*

      Anonymous

Thanks, really seems like there's no way around it, whichever anons claimed there was were bullshitting. Did the ritual work though, I know that one is just based on Path of the Warrior/Damnation flags and telling her not to blame herself gives her Damnation flags which can cause the ritual to fail.

        Anonymous

In the main save I interupted, but my damned flags are higher it seems (as per acemi editor) so would have flopped anyway

          Anonymous

If you had the same amount of warrior/damnation at the start of Quetza you can get one more warrior flag in the Eldar-Calligos-Yrliet confrontation by telling Yrliet the Eldar are in the right.

            Anonymous

I assume that was the Adress Yrliet > Do you still think they are worth saving + other option dialogue
I picked the first one because I thought it was more of questioning and not choice between the 2
But I'll roll with it, haven't beaten the game yet hope endings are fixed

              Anonymous

Yeah, that's it. I went back and picked that because you otherwise get the Eldar coming to kill everyone outcome.

Buildings don't matter what matters are the answers to events.
Just side with Yrliet whenever she gives an opinion. Otherwise pick whichever has the highest chance of success.

                Anonymous

Buildings give different answers to the events.
For example in the last event, you have to brave through a massive storm to get to the source of said storm. If you accepted the inquisition's presence in the earlier event, you get an option for her aiding you. If you kept the weirdo mutants without killing them or hurting them, one of them offers to lead you through the storm. But there's always a base option that's hard but not impossible to get you to the end.
The final choice I think is the most important, at least for Janus. You gotta make sure your forces successfully reach the center of the storm, and once there they can aid the blue spirits against the purple ones.

                Anonymous

You need to do a max level project on every colony and do the last event well. Like on Janus if you get the wraith war event and take Yrliet's suggestion to side with the blue wraiths and it works, you're good.

Yeah, I always go through the list and try to pick the least bad ones. Thanks, really seems like there's no way around it, whichever anons claimed there was were bullshitting. Did the ritual work though, I know that one is just based on Path of the Warrior/Damnation flags and telling her not to blame herself gives her Damnation flags which can cause the ritual to fail.

I got her to call the eldar off by letting her do the ritual, with a full dogma character at that.

Pyro/Officer requires Greedy Officer build with the talent that says "every time you do damage, reduce enemy armor", or a dedicated flamer on your team.
Your actual pyro abilities aren't great, but you don't need them to be.
What you do need is Officer with the talents that buff yourself or your allies when you do shit, Master Tactician also focused in your own damage dealing, and then flame weapons.
If you insist on taking Pyro abilities you want to work your way to the "All burning enemies immediately take a burn tick and burning does X more damage." as well as the talent that makes all burning have a crit chance.
You're now all about running up and splashing fire on as many enemies as possible with your flamer, then using your burn-baby-burn ability and watching everyone melt.

Or give someone else turns so they can start the fire and you just accelerate it.

It depends on if you end up with a femcel that self inserts into the particular female character, but you're right that the MC being a blank slate decreases the chances.
What I'm most surprised about is no Argenta/femRT ones. Not even one. You'd think that would be prime bait.

i mean that if the mc of the game is a blank state and can be whichever gender, then the chances that the fanfiction is gonna feature a male mc/female established character romance are almost zero. it will be either female mc/male character or male mc/male character, because that's what gets the female juices flowing, and most fanfiction writers are women

At least the odds are most of the content that was cut for time will just be rolled into the DLC releases.

            Anonymous

The problem is they most likely won't do any major touch ups to existing companions and add in quests or expand their stories in other ways. The DLC content will center around the new companions it adds. Unless they do a general story expansion pack for act 4 or something giving a bit for everyone.
There is a lot of inconsistent writing with certain companions and certain plot points getting resolved in a very unsatisfying way (Argenta and Theodora, Kunrad, Yrliet's soulstone etc.) that will most likely not get fixed

              Anonymous

              >Argenta and Theodora
This is the worst. I expected a "but" to the very end for that part of story and it never came. It's so hilariously stupid that Argenta just managed to kill both an extremely experienced Rogue Trader and her elite bodyguard before they could even move with a fricking pistol. I guess Emperor did guide her hand in that particular moment. On the same note, it would've been awfully inconvenient if she used a bolter while also being the only person who uses one on the entire ship.

                Anonymous

                >Didn't use her bolter
I suspect it's because at one point in the design they wanted melee weapons and pistols to use half actions, while two-handed ranged weapons needed full actions to use.
So using a pistol to kill an unprepared off-guard RT and her melta carrying bodyguard would make sense.

                Anonymous

That may be true gameplay-wise, it's just strange narratively in multiple ways. Autopistol/chainsword is clearly a backup weapon combination but I guess you can easily excuse it by saying she just fought someone in close quarters and rushed into Theodora's room. And then there was a bodyguard in the middle of a rebellion who was not ready for the fight even though he should by all means have had an advantage over Argenta in a firefight in that situation. And the guy was also somehow completely unaware about what Theodora was doing. It's not like Mort was on his first day on the job, he should be well aware what chaos is.

                Anonymous

I suspect if we get a prequel DLC we'll see Mort as blinded by his faith and trust in Theodora after all someone with the Emperor's blessing must be operating as the Emperor demands.
Alternatively we find out she fricked with his brain too during the mind lock process. Given he doesn't have many words to say during the prologue it wouldn't surprise me if she shut off parts of his brain or some other shit.

              Anonymous

Yeah, I'd much rather have existent companions fixed or fleshed out and content restored. Like there was clearly a Marazhai quest on Santiel's Pride that got cut along with the rest of the level and you just get the bland crew killing on the ship instead even if being that happy with that is out of character for him. Yrliet would have had an entire plotline with the remnants of Crudarach but now they'd have to change the ending slides to fix it even if they add it back in.

said, there's a bunch of stuff cut from the beta, a bunch of unused stuff, a bunch of stuff suggesting some major rewrite happened (especially because one of the major modules they ripped off just abruptly ends), and then we have two or three voice actors now saying GW came in and either cut lines or edited scripts.

GW almost certaintly made a few mandates that we can be 100% sure of
      No romance for Argenta.
Space marine companion (doubt they insisted on the chapter beyond making it one of the popular ones) and no romance with said space marine either.
Jury's out of they're the ones behind Yrliet's romance being something approaching asexual but I somehow doubt they cared. One thing that points to them not caring much about the knife ears beyond wienerblocking the usage of Vect, at least to me, is the fact they didn't even bother correcting how mon'keigh is pronounced and bringing it in line with other more popular works.
Beyond these, I figure they must have insisted it takes place post Cadia, though the effects of that aren't that apparent beyond an explanation as to why you need to chart new warp routes during act II.

          Anonymous

          No.
Not many chapters are able to do much of anything in the Expanse, and there are quite a few lone marines who got lost during missions or got recruited for special jobs by inquisitors or deathwatch.
          Shit happens.
The fact that the chapter is there AND he doesn't go back to them is kind of weird though.

IIRC it's not Ryzza herself, it's that some of the Fellowship of the Void pirates were dabbling. After the close shave with you and Chorda, they fix that problem right sharpish. By way of gunfire and tossing things and people out of airlocks, mostly.

So for the weapons on the left and right, is the armor pen loss worth it for higher max damage, range and fire rate or is left one superior because of the armor pen

      Anonymous

If you max out reputation with Fellowship of the Void you can get an item that increases rate of fire based on your BS skill. In chapter 4 you can find an item that does the same for weapons where the base rate of fire is 4 or below, if you use both of those items you can get a rate of fire of 40 with burst fire if you use the Sworn Protector or Hot Shot Lasgun.

Speaking of eternity, in the game it says that the RT's dynasty is marked by Chaos.

Not a lore expert, but from what I realize since humans don't have strong souls like Eldar, they aren't a full "entity" that can act in the warp like an afterlife, like Eldar do but they get tortured by Slaanesh for eternity. Humans are just a floating consciousness that can't really act or interact with much, it's just you and your thoughts floating around not even feeling the daemons bullying you. So you won't feel much bad shit, UNLESS you're a psyker - psyker souls are strong souls like Eldar so they are a "present entity" that can interact.

            Anonymous

Correct, to add on it's not the same for everyone Orks for example reincarnate but lose all their memories, with a few extremely rare exceptions. (To be fair Orks don't really need them)
In old lore I think most souls were able to reincarnate chilling in the warp until the time came to play again.

          Anonymous

Eh not so bad for humans.
Humans after death just dissolve into the warp, but it's never really said they simply cease to be in the warp as their essence just joins with the nigh infinite pool of souls, likely just putting them in a section of the warp that is small and away from demons where they can live out their weirdest dreams, likely still feeding the gods like perpetual batteries, or sometimes in cases like celestine, come back as an imperium aligned daemon prince(ess)(s). Orks reincarnate without interference since their "souls" make up the entirety of the ork gestalt Consciousness, as Waaaaagh energy is also the very weird essence of the Orks and their collectively shared rebounding system that is their Gestalt Consciousness. Chaos worshippers will sometimes be eaten and consumed by demons or become demons. As far as I can recall, that's what happens.
Eldar get the worst treatment at the hands of Slaanesh. 40K hates space elves really hard.

At several points Chaos Gods, will pick out the souls of their dead followers (Only followers who have done enough to earn their notice, so maybe a tier or two below Khârn the Betrayer, in terms of abilities), usually they revive those followers or allow their souls to live on in the gods realm

Because even Eldar can't actually 'make' Spirit Stones, they're the coalesced psychic residue of the Eldar killed during Slaanesh's birth, and who are now trapped on the Crone Worlds to be tortured for eternity.

I loved act 3, but it felt a bit rushed. I wish it was longer and had more in depth talks with companions. The part that felt the rushed the most (apart from Argenta's reveal being glossed over) was the main "political intrigue" being reduced to "just fight in the arena for me a few times and get me some samples" nothing with archon politics and other schemes/rivalries. I found the Drukhari stuff interesting and hoped there would be more Kabal politics/backstabing.
Does allying Marazhai add much to this or is it just one small side quest integrated into what you're about to do anyways? Never saw his content since he got sniped in my run.

But I wouldn't really complain about Eldar campaign either , given that I'm elfgay and assembling Eldar as my third tabletop 40k army If we got Eldar themed minicampaign, it would be easier to justify fricking around and politicking in Commorragh so return to it could be possible.

They could do both, have the choices and consequences carry over. Like Varnhold's lot for kingmaker but better and fleshed out with bigger effect in main campaign. Could do that with Corsairs and Crudarach prequel or with Commorragh like you've said, I'd like to see either of those.

There is nothing schizo about it. I would prefer if there was simply more content added to the main campaign, so it's expanded and improved. But if an alternate minicampaign happened and it was about space elves, then in this case I would be fine with it, given that I like Eldar and playing from their perspective should offer really different gameplay and story experience. Eldar minicampaign would make quite a lot sense and should be relatively easy to do, given how many assets already exists for all those types of Eldar

Eldar torture isn't as erotic as you might think, it's more just pure agony.
Like imagine having your skin flayed off, then your chest cavity is opened and a piece of red hot metal is wrapped around your heart. As they stitch you back up they pull out your eyes, keeping one attached at the nerve so you can watch as they eat the other one before shoving sharp glass shards into the empty sockets.
Then they pour acid down your mouth before sewing it shut with barbed wire, amd thencfor good measure they turn all the blood in your body into liquid mercury.
After that you get mummified with sandpaper and inserted into an iron maided, which they also fill with snakes before closing.
You can't scream, you can't move, you no longer have eyes to close, and the sound of hissing snakes drowns out any coherent thought you can have, which is hard enough already as your nerves are pushed far past any natural point of pain.
After a very long while they might open you back up to subject you to an all new even more painful sort of torture, because a tolerance for the old stuff might start to form.

so do humans ever get reincarnated as humans?

There was a guardsman whose faith in the Emperor was so strong he raised from the dead several times - does that count?
Also in old retconned lore souls frequently reincarnated from the warp iirc

But if the emperor doesnt interfere human souls are just these tiny little gusts of winds going through the warp?

Yeah just a floating consciousness that can't do much. But can be joinked under special circumstances.

In the guardsmans case it was all during one long and desperate trench fight, he became a living saint (albeit the weakest one to date), and after the trench fight was done, he died from his 8 or so fatal wounds, that he had risen from each time before.

Humans don't reincarnate, their souls dissolve into the psychic soup of the Warp.

Not anymore. Back before Slaanesh was murder-fricked to birth, there were semi immortal proto-psyker humans, called Shamans. The reason for their semi-immortality was that their souls reincarnated every time they died, but since the warp was going unstable(Thanks to said frickery), the souls started getting consumed by demons/entities in the warp. Realising this, the Shamans banded together to do a massive ritualistic suicide, to force the reincarnation to end all reincarnations to happen. Combining the souls and powers of all the Shamans and birthing the soul that would 9 month later be born into a baby Emperor. Since then reincarnation hasnt really been a thing.

Anon that's ao utterly wrong that I don't even know where to start.
The Shamans were the ones who made the Emperor, they died out way before Slaanesh's birth

They didnt make the Emperor, they made his soul that was born into a human (His whole obsession with human skulls, came from finding the skull of his dead birthdad).
While Slaanesh wasnt created yet by the time of the Emperors birth, it was the growing disturbances in the warp, that led the Shamans to do the ritual, and the warp was being disturbed by the Eldar millenium orgy.

      Anon, here's a neat trick.
Ignore everything you don't like that's outside a rulebook, and even some things inside the rulebooks. Build your own idea of what's 'canon' utilizing the pieces of lore that exist, bending things as much as you need so long as you continue to recognize that what you're doing is your own. 90% of Black Library authors are bad, most BL books are bad, most GW writers aren't very good and are told only to write what the marketing team wants to sell. Ignore it. There's a reason /your dudes/ are a thing, and that they'll always be potentially more intereating than already established groups.

when do fanatic skill checks start showing up

      Anonymous

      It's by chapter.
So Follower first can show up in Chap 1
      Adherent in Chap 2
      Votary in Chap 3
      Fanatic in Chap 4
I believe the final decision in Chap 4 for Heretic is the only one that requires Zealot currently.

All of this lore is pretty cool but it makes me think: Aren't the Tau just a lukewarm boring insignificant faction in this grand drama?

      Anonymous

They are less than a rounding error to the Imperium. The thing is they arent a threat, but they represent a potential threat in time. All their technology came about in a really short time, so while they are utterly insignificant they could one day grow to be a formidable enemy (Which contrasts to the Imperium that is at best stagnant and usually deteriorating). If you want a truly insignificant faction the check out the Farsight enclave, which is a secessionist empire from the Tau.

Tau are a point of comparison through which other factions can be compared to refresh the ideas of how grimdark things are.
Tau are diplomatic, forward-thinking, sensible, dogmatic but not fanatical, and care for other races. They are everything 40k isn't. They also happen to only exist because of a literal clerical error on the Imperium's behalf, followed by the rampant neglect the Imperium showed to an entire sector. They're you and naive and have yet to see just how terrible a place the galaxy is.
They also have big mech suits and fricking rail guns, which is kinda cool.
