The only scenario pack you should play are the RCT1 scenarios that have been converted to RCT2. The game mechanics are better in 2 but the scenarios are unfun garbage.
It's not that RCT2's scenarios are bad it's just that they're all pretty much designed expecting you to already be familiar with the game. RCT1's scenarios have a much better skill progression going from its easy to hard scenarios.
This guy developed the entire game by himself, engine and all, in assembly. You can't even make your own game using fricking Unity and Unreal without sucking.
We were in awe at the performance back in the day. This game should have stuttered like crazy on our single-core Pentium CPUs - but it didn't. Chris Sawyer is a master of his craft that achieved Terry Davis levels of autism.
RCT1 was the first PC game I really played—like for hours on end—back in 1999. I was ten years old at the time. RCT2 is the first game plus a lot of quality of life improvements. OpenRCT2 is RCT2 with decades of community-sourced quality of life improvements. Get OpenRCT2 and play it, starting with the first RCT1 maps. >What do I think about it?
If you have any business being on Ganker, you'll love it. There are a couple 10/10 management sims out there, and this is one of them.
openRCT 2 is the way to play it. base games are timeless classics but this mod just has endless amounts of bug fixes, QOL improvements, and modern features added.
like in the originals i'm not sure if it's possible to go past 1280x1024 resolution while i recall it being unlocked and kinda crucial in openrct 2. there's numerous things openrct 2 can do that the base games can't, because either those features weren't needed back then or just nobody thought of them.
by in large they're still preserving the original feel of the game. it's not like some head-canon mod where a power tripping programmer is changing everything for the worse.
Charging for the park entrance like in real life is always a trap in this game, if you have the option don't take it, and if you are forced to do so as your main income, you have to play very stingy or very scummy, one or the other. Even if you're allowed to charge for both entry and rides, if you charge more than $0 for entry, your ride prices have to be like 1/8 normal for people to ride them.
>if you have the option don't take it
In RCT2 you don't have a choice as all scenarios are either of them, and never both.
In RCT1 it doesn't make a difference as the ATM machine doesn't exist hence all guests have a finite amount of money to spend. If the scenario has a guest goal it may be better to charge for the entrance so guests stay in your park for longer.

>but the scenarios are unfun garbage
elaborate with autistic levels of detail
The difficulty curve is RCT2 is completely screwed up, whereas RCT1 has an actual progression. OP should do the RCT1 set if he can

greenery > Stone age garbage
With OpenRCT2 you can just use RCT1's scenario files. No conversion needed
Yeah but the converted files have RCT2 coaster variety inserted

You will forever be mediocre.
Assembly isn't that hard.
Also, he had help with music/ sound and graphics.
it's harder than using some shitty game engine and developing in C#
Unless you have nostalgia for it then you won't enjoy it.
That it is one of the greatest games ever made.

>What do I think about it?
that depends, how autistic are you?
Also, use OpenRct2.

¯_(ツ)_/¯
>It just works
How do I make a proper queue line, wtf
>the ride was built 15ft in the air
well whose bright idea was that
Most rides will auto elevate when built over paths.
Click the upwards/downwards ramp part of the Footpaths window, and build it like track pieces.
The isometric camera claims another victim.
it's comfy and fun but it has too many levels and you will quit after like 10 levels
Good news:
>we have rides now
Bad news
>we have no money now
love how guests just drop to the ground after exiting from mine mania
>queue paths for exits
shit Black person wtf r u doin
was 3 any good?
it's polygonal, so you can ride the coasters.
its a lot better than people give it credit for, but its definitely inferior to 1 & 2, you should still give it a try though
thanks doc

Charge for bathrooms in that case
