        RPG Maker**** autism

This is the kind of shit VIPRPG devs do in their sleep in RM2k3. To western shitters, writing a basic ray casting routine in 2k3 event code is absolutely unfathomable. Japanese devs once again prove that they are truly the only ones worthy of making anything.
I'll need to hunt around a bit, but there was even someone who had a functioning Super Mario Kart engine working in 2k3 with hundreds of racers on screen. And there are of course other games that simulate Mode 7 as well.

The Maniacs Patch has singlehandedly resurrected 2k3 and turned it from a previously shunned, inferior version of 2k3 into the one all the high-end Japanese RPG Maker devs prefer. It's nothing short of miraculous.

    Bad idea.
99% of all RPGM sales happen because of hentai game developers. Those are only practically possible in 2D. There are basically no 3D hentai games to speak of, not because of limitations, but because of favoring 2D over 3D.
There is no reason for hentai devs to create 3D hentai games if 2D is what everyone wants.

For what purpose? It's impressive, for rpgmaker, but if you showed me these pictures and told me this was indie unity slop I'd say yeah that's about right looks pretty typical.

It's just a flex? Years of working 3d into rpgmaker has to get in the way of the making an rpg thing.

God I hate Japanese keep doing this shit
Instead of learn/ develop technology that's well suited for their work. They just coop themselves in their own backward technology that's made decades ago, barely met the modern criteria. All 3d rpgm games I played barely worked, have terrible performance and don't improve the experience in any meaningful ways.
While rpgm are self contained in indie (doujin) jrpg scene. MMD has completely fricked CGI usage in anime. As the original developer stop updating the software since 2013 other than small fixes. The community has made countless of plugins, mostly shader, filters and particle effects, yet the physic and collision from the base software are still wonky, staple feature in mmd videos. Despite SFM already available at the time, outclassing current year mmd in every way except vram requirements and not being Japanese. The technology inferiority limited their creativity by lowering their expectations. And CGI is stuck in the role of lowering production cost. Other than few exceptions in effects, all CGI in anime post 2016 look worse than CGI in some 2000s OVA. Also part of me believe that modern anime has stupid crazy camera movement because most mmd >animators, who don't actually animate character movements, waste their time throw the camera all over the place. Director see the videos, think that's what the audience want and put it in their action scenes. At least Japanese video game studios are usually decently sized, has budget and know what they are doing. Thus CGI in video games are not shit.
They also do the same thing in their own video editing software aviutl. However I hate Adobe israelites so I am fine with it.

I cannot fathom why you would inflict this on yourself. RPGMaker is such a piece of shit, forcing it to do this is legitimate mental illness. I don't want to know what the dev has gone through to make it run at all. The engine kills itself once it has to track like three common events or render four images. Other engines are right there and with all the work you're putting into this, you might as well do your own from scratch.

      Anonymous

      >I cannot fathom why you would inflict this on yourself
because limitation is the mother of creativity. Older devs knew this, which is why most of the greatest games of all time are on dated hardware

That only applies to creatives and passionate creators you stupid frick. RPGMaker and similar tools are marketed as "easy to use" and "low barrier of entry" will always attract lazy, talentless wannabes whose ambition far outpaces their skills. So you get are 90% of RPG Maker games using stock assets with shitty writing, systems and overdone ptemises.

No, but over the last few years there's been a lot of mods and hacks that dropped for various version of RPG Maker that can do all sorts of crazy shit that native RPG Maker can't, including doing 3D.
The game in this thread/OP though seems to be made with its own exclusively made mod though since it looks lightyears ahead of any other 3D-looking MZ game.
