imagine all the kids reaching these fricks and just trying to stay alive, cowering in fear at the left side of the screen, only for these psychos to charge them out of nowhere. miyamoto used to be based.
I don't remember if I saw it happen when I was a kid, I would just run at them and hope for the best
I think I have an irrational fear of video game enemies that spread huge amount of projectiles without any kind of pattern, thanks to this guy and some other enemies from other NES/Famicom games. They're unpredictable, just like real life psychos would be, and that is scary
YUP, these bad boys used to be legendary terrors back then. Almost every Mario player feared them, well into SMW with the Amazin' Flying Bro variant.
Now though? They're babyproofed in the 3D games, because Miyamoto hates difficulty. He nerfed a similar projectile spamming terror in Zelda to the same degree (Wizzrobes, now they just slowly hover and shoot slow bolts in Link Between World). Now as well the Hammer Bros, they're just like all the other Playskool mooks ineffectually bouncing around in 5 second intervals. They just lazily throw 1 to 2 hammers slowly arcing towards your position. They lost all their bite because of all the space you have to work with in 3D.
you can kill him in two seconds with a fireball. he sucks if you don't have one but at least there's a way. now this dickhead on the other hand, he's another story.
*ruins doom 2*
Is that Notch?
I disagree OP, it's nice to have something in the game that isn't trivially easy after multiple playthroughs.
I think it's cool how they run at you after being on screen long enough.
WHAT
You’re late

That was me.
>Ruins Lost Levels
Are you implying there was anything of value to ruin on the rest of the game
I enjoyed most of the levels.
Lost Levels was ruined from the moment you pressed "start" on the gamepad.
sonic 1 ruins
If you suck maybe
Wait to jump over him or save fire for it
That was easy

Just quit being a fricking pussy
People are stupid oh well
Yeah that "Super mario" game was ruined and failed completely. It's a shame because it had some potential.

Miyamoto hasn't worked on a Zelda game since Zelda 64.
Okay and? He still oversees projects from time to time. Aonuma is just his messenger boy.
Miyamoto thought NSMB was too easy, and he thinks gamers who want games to play themselves are pathetic.
>nooooooo you just cant put challenging enemies in video games!
Cone equipped with a fire flower next time.
Wow I never thought of that. If only I could get a fire flower as SMALL Mario. Still a shit enemy though
>he doesnt know about small fire mario
Next time dont get hit.
You can get fire and stay small if you know what you’re doing
I got through 8-3 without a fire flower every single time, in fact I only got there with a power up maybe once or twice
Speedrunners make me laugh
just run and accept you will probably lose your mushroom powers
Is it possible to kill a Hammer Bros. without the fire flower?
It is possible to beat them with a jump, but it's pretty risky. I usually just hit the blocks they're standing on when it's an option.
You can kill them with a jump and also just run past them (though the timing can be difficult)
Jump on them or hit the block from underneath
What is the lore on these guys? Why does a turtle need a hammer?
They're Bowser's elite goons.
More evolved and better trained than regular koopa troopas.
Why doesn't he make an entire army of them then?
they take too much resources
>y'all fools never played 35 then
try 12 lakitu & 3 of these jokers
35 is just kill everything with a fire flower.
Filtered.
I think he was the first one ever.
>literally the only interesting small enemy in the whole franchise
I overuse these frickers in my SMM maps, make them ride red koopas, make them fly in the lakitu cloud etc. because frick people.
Arlo got so triggered over them in Mario Maker 1 he made an entire video solely dedicated to dissecting them.
>Gets 3 plays per level
Hammers are such a good strategy even Bowser starting copying them by the end of the game.
I'm pretty sure the Bowser at the end, is the only real Bowser.
Did Bowser ever use hammers again in any game?
I think he used them in the first Mario & Luigi game, but it's been forever since I last played it.
Yeah, during his time as Rookie he throws them
>literally no ass
*ruins double dragon*

His rate of fire is way slower though, and spinys are super cute
