No. Sale
I stopped putting much stock in these when for years FGO, one of the most shittiest gachas, was highest
According to Baldurgays, yes.
If a game I don't like has high sales it's because it's garbage made to appeal to the least common denominator who are too fricking stupid to resist its marketing, but if a game I like has high sales it's because it's just that good
Seems to be the general mentality. I think EVERY game that sells a lot is trash made for the common denominator. No exceptions.
You only think that because no games you like sell a lot
Good. Less annoying fricks and shitpost to deal with.
I would make probably three or four exceptions but there is a lot of slop in there.
I'm surprised that Smash 64 sold that much and that Mario Kart 64 isn't even on the list.
No, otherwise you admit that FIFA is a good game.
Most videogame companies aren't allowed to do business in China
I fricking hate how Gachagays always have to say their game is better because their game makes more money.
Hasn't this game been bleeding money since March or so? I know Fontaine will do well enough but I have doubts on it doing as well as Sumeru or Inazuma with the focus on husbandos.
>genshin impact
>bleeding money
In what world? They just need to make 200 million each year and they are fine, they made way more than enough.
Key word since March. Dehya wasn't supposed to make money and Baizhu made even less somehow. There's also less hype going into Fontaine than there was Sumeru due to MHY alienating the waifu audience.
You’re crazy if you think they aren’t going to make bank in 4.0 and 4.1 with the water dragon and wolf looking fist dude. Already know some fujos that are pulling for both of them
You mean like how fujos were hyping the frick out of Baizhu/Kaveh?
No one was hyping them up and the fact this dude is a punching dude makes me want to pull for him
I can already see the 3d model of this dude looking like twink shit.
with the same moron stare and posture
Pretty sure they didn’t want to make it too good so honkai star rail makes money aswell. Both are in the top 3 spot so they will be completely fine.
Wasn't sumeru the expansion where everyone quit? None of my friends play genshin anymore save for one or two.
>Hasn't this game been bleeding money since March or so?
According to Amerimutts it's been on the verge of dying since a week after launch. Two more weeks I guess.
You're supposed to shill Star Rail instead. Genshin is old news
Looks like Star Rail is bleeding players faster than Genshin
higurashit troons on suicide watch
zhongDONG
shoBITCH
Yea for a completely new ip, making 4 billion in 3 years is fricking crazy
>you now remember genshin impact released the same month as cyberjunk 2077
Chudsisters....our response...?
Reminder that this stats source is Sensor Tower and they can only get an estimate of Genshin revenues from the apple store so this number is a small % of their real revenue because most whales play on PC
Yea we will never get the real numbers because pc and ps4/5 are never counted. It probably made double the amount or more
No, but it doesn't matter. Companies aren't interested in making "superior" games, they're interested in making money. You should not be interested in the financial success of a product unless you're a shareholder. If you are someone who regularly engages in discussions about metrics like sales numbers and review scores, your opinions are not only worthless but legitimately harmful to the hobby I care about, and it is my sincerest wish that you be permanently silenced if only for the slightest hope that it might have a shred of positive impact on gaming as a whole.
I just find it funny how people consume the horrible storytelling that genshin and honkai do. It's probably some of the worst writing I've seen in an RPG period, and I have played some really shitty JRPG's to say that.
They have the money to steal writers from other companies, like the girl who wrote Shadowbringers and Endwalker for SE, she could fix whatever mess mihoyo has with the writing team right now.
Mihoyo has all the money in the world, and they can't do a single good story with it. It's just insane.
Considering the train wreck that was Endwalker's story, they probably have better options.
if you are a moron who thinks marvel shit is good i guess
No? It usually means a game appeals to the least common denominator. When a game is genuinely good and has good sales too, there's no force on Ganker or anywhere else that could stamp out its positivity. Those games are called the classics for a reason.
With CoD/fortnite/FIFA/etc, you get the games that're the butt of the joke. The low hanging fruit that everyone makes fun of because the players are so braindead and strange, you're not sure why millions of people buy the same game every year and break profit records every time. Genshin and most popular gacha games are that. It's gacha call of duty, but the cultists who adhere to it feel the need to evangelize on Ganker constantly instead of staying in /vg/.
>Are high sales the metric of a superior game?
If a game I like (or want to succeed) gets high sales, then its sales are important indicators of quality.
If a game I don't like (or want to fail) gets high sales, then its sales are useless indicators of quality.
If a game I don't like (or want to fail) gets low sales, then its lack of sales are important indicators of quality.
If a game I like (or want to succeed) gets low sales, then its lack of sales are useless indicators of quality.
Simple as. Confirmation bias is Ganker's motto when it comes to a game's reception.
No, BG3's success mindbroke all the chuds here after 3 years of saying it was woke and going to flop its a reverse shazam
>Are high sales the metric of a superior game?
No, that is the only answer to the question. Personal biases don't determine anything.
I love pokemon, yet the high sales do not indicate quality of any sort for the recent games.
Same with genshin, same with fifa, same with any mobile game like candy crush.
Even if Elden Ring got high sales, that doesn't indicate it was an amazing game, because it would imply it is better than Dark Souls 1 for having higher sales.
Higher sales will never say a game is good, superior or high quality.
The only thing that can say a game is good or not, is yourself.
Pubg mobile makes more money and has a lot more users
How much money does fortnite make if pubg is considered a disgraced irrelevant flop in comparison to it?
Fortnite makes almost as much money as the entire steam store does each year.
And pubg mobile isn't a flop, they get massive collabs and brand deals, they were able to do this by being one of the only polished mobile battle royales that can run on any phone after fortnite kicked the bucket and a really cheap subscription service that appeals to poors $1 and their monetisation scheme is basically renting skins.
Normal pubg though that is dead compared to fortnite or pubg mobile. They barely get anything no collabs, even the spin off pubg new state gets more love from krafton/tencent/level infinite.
Interesting. The Chinese really do have all the gaming cash cows on lockdown.
Cuckold simulator. If you're going to play a gacha, at least play one that pretends to respect its player.
"superior" game is subjective but it is objectively popular / gained the interest of whales. Plenty of mediocre games have become popular like Pokemon.
