I don't care. I made a mega factory already. I don't need to make trains, I've completed the final tier for the space elevator, I've got all the hard drives, I've got all the power I need, I can't be bothered to make cities or fancy looking factories and I'm not starting again. 500 hours is enough in this game, update 8 has done nothing for me, it's just busy work now and I cannot be bothered with it.

This update killed performance
Big time, I have a 3070ti and it chugs now even with GI turned off. I just have nothing I care about to do anymore
They spent the time they should have been deving making that update 8 trailer
Wut? I'm getting better performance than ever. It takes like 3x longer to load but its still not above 35 seconds loading.
I'm using 40% more gpu and 150% more cpu and getting the same framerate
>I'm getting better performance than ever.
member the roadmap? i member.
>troonyfactory
ack thyself
u wot m8?
rent free
I found this update to be unsatisfactory.
I don't get it.
>majority of the update is the switch to Unreal Engine 5
This is a huge red flag. Reworking things that are working perfectly fine instead of filling the obvious gaps in the game.
I've seen this many times with early access games that stalled in progress and it has never ended well. It's a strong indicator of burnout and creative bankruptcy
>No story
>SAM ore WIP
>Somersloops WIP
>Mercer Spheres WIP
I just don't care anymore, there's nothing really interesting to do. Sure you can make fancy looking factories with blueprints. But to what end? I've done everything and have excess of everything.
>>No story
Good.
Yeah, it's funny because this was supposedly going to be a quick and small update because they wanted to start releasing them sooner and sooner, but it took them longer to release than one of the previous major updates. The game is never going to see a 1.0, hell, it probably won't see update 11.
nah there can be a multitude of reasons that aren't that.
- marketing wants hot new thing everyone's talking about
- bowerbird dev wants shiny new thing and convinced PM it's a good idea and wont take long 🙂
- they erroneously thought it would let them do stuff (or solve problems) they couldn't before
- they're moronic and did it for no reason
my boss is constantly updating all our dependencies because "it's good to do" and is always breaking shit in turn.
i haven't played for several updates though
is there anybody here that has been with this game from the start and still has faith in anything they say?
I bought this game during the Epic exclusive thing on the expectation that development would be steady and quite quick.
I get it "Game development is soooooo hard guys, teehee."
yes i get it.
18 months from release was never reasonable for a full story and reworked mechanics. the expectation was that those dates would change.
yes i get it.
what i never expected was AN ENTIRE LITERAL YEAR between major updates. bruh... you have gone so far past what should be considered reasonable.
i dont get it
how are people still invested?
>how are people still invested?
I'm not, I spun up update 8 quickly to have a look, read the changelog got bored and uninstalled again, which is a shame because while it was fun it was autismo crack, but after that I have zero drive to do anything
much like bannerlord, I feel the game really hasn't changed since I bought it the day it came to steam and today, sure there's a few new things but it doesn't feel meaningfully better in any way.
honestly wonder wtf they do day to day.
My performance is tons better since update 8, my mega factory used to put my 3090 to 100% and fps to 40, now its solid 60 at the cost if some rendering being a bit worse.
I did a full game in update 8 and gave up on the last stage, still really enjoy it but waiting for more content. What I am hoping is they've tidied up the codebase a lot with the port and now it will be easier to expand as there is less spaghetti. I still think there needs to be way more power options and the north east of the map feels empty compared to everywhere else.
I bought this game years ago thinking I'm getting a 3D Factorio, but it felt so simplified and shallow in comparison, I abandoned it after a few hours and never played it again. Is it worth giving it another try after all the updates and content they have added in the past few years?
if you haven't played it in ages then yeah it would be worth it, if you played 7 then 8 doesn't add much
It's an extremely fun factory building game and it has a lot of potential. Playing it after years will give you a completely different game.
The letdown is that there is still no story, barely any lore and once you completed the space elevator you're left with the emptiness of the hundreds of hours spent building your ultimately pointless factories. Oh and you get a golden mug.
It's regardless a great game for autists
>want to play an autism game
>done Factorio to death
>already reached 'Stage 9' in Satisfactory, all that's really left to do is scale up Sink Ticket production, meh
>Dyson Sphere is getting a major update in a few weeks that will probably brick a factory without defences
Alright lads what's the next best thing
Factory Town 😀
Tell me more, currently playing Farthest Fronteir for my autism
The lighting still looks completely ASSS
lamps still act like laser beams
what's even the point of this engine update??!??!
to sell graphics cards? is everything a conspiracy?
>is everything a conspiracy?
yes
the game needs to hurry up and finish already
never gonna happen
To be honest, the game is making progress on the factory building side. Just not the story.
Maybe they should just call it a day and scrap all the alien artifact and lore stuff.
