>Immediatley hijacks the story as soon as she shows up, a stort that was supposed to be comfy adventures with Estinien and Y'shtola to make it all about her
The story was always going to be about her. If anyone felt like they didn't really "warrant" being there, it was Estinien, but I'm glad he got to come along regardless. >Her entire character is self-contradictory >Doesn't help others without being paid, literally shelters a group of voidsent outcasts for no reason >Claims to not understand basic human emotions, meanwhile voidsent are shown to still have basic human emotions >entire personality is passive and uncaring, voidsent are heavily tilted toward the astral and every other voidsent ever seen is highly emotional and driven to activity
By the time Zero was born the 13th was already a shitshow. She grew up regularly seeing the worst of people, but she also couldn't help but care. It's why she tried to protect that village and why she turned down Durante's offer to party up. Zero's strongest emotions before she became a voidsent were a desire for connection hidden deeply beneath a feeling of mistrust for others. That's why she comes across as hypocritical at times. Her true desires were already buried so deeply inside of her before the 10,000 years of being a voidsent, of course she's not going to be well-adjusted. >Every patch is just her having to be taught basic human behavior like she's a child
I kind of agree with this, it did feel like they repeated some development beats with her when they didn't need to. >Even her name is out of place, literally the only character to have a number as a name
I don't see the big deal here. >doesn't remember basic concepts such as eating food or what friendship is >remembers a random 30 second conversation she had with two strangers 10,000 years ago
I don't think she starts to really remember Durante until we're well into the patch MSQ, whereas the eating bit was in what, 6.2?

>Zero's strongest emotions before she became a voidsent were a desire for connection hidden deeply beneath a feeling of mistrust for others.
That would be fine if there was ever any indication at all that she was being hypocritical on purpose, like any character commenting on the inconsistency in any way, but that never happens. >Her true desires were already buried so deeply inside of her before the 10,000 years of being a voidsent, of course she's not going to be well-adjusted.
Being a voidsent should really make her even less well-adjusted though. The astral aspect should make her very emotional. But Vauthry is also intensely emotional despite being a sin eater, so maybe there's a reason there they haven't delved into. >I don't think she starts to really remember Durante until we're well into the patch MSQ, whereas the eating bit was in what, 6.2?
Even before the Durante memory, she starts to talk about the time before the Flood and her mother. She's not an amnesiac, it just seems selective based on what the scene needs.

>She's not an amnesiac, it just seems selective based on what the scene needs.
Is this Black person serious? In a fricking game where WoL has a headache to see whatever the scene needs. The Echo is still a giant asspull writer tool.

Nothing I'm talking about has anything to do with the Echo. Zero goes from one scene saying she doesn't know how to eat, then in the next she starts talking about life before the Flood and her mother, then she forgets basic words, then she remembers a short exchange with two strangers 10,000 years before. The Echo doesn't factor into that at all.

You are complaining about a character having memory asspulls that are way WAY less convenient than the fricking Echo. You are a tool.

The Echo is literally a fricking superpower that tells you things you didn't know before. What are you even rambling about? Of course it's convenient because it's a superpower. Zero's inconsistency has nothing to do with this, it's poor writing exactly because it has no explanation at all, unlike if she regained memories because of the Echo. Are you stupid or something?

You can take issue with the choices they made in the writing, but the only thing the EW base story contradicts itself on is how suffering is supposed to be important but then it treats the player and the main characters with kid gloves. The story doesn't constantly contradict itself from scene to scene like Zero's arc, nor does it spit in the face of previously established lore like Zero's arc does.

Because it contradicts itself constantly, from scene to scene. That's reason alone to criticize it. No other post-expansion story has those issues. Or maybe they do? There was nothing wrong with the Warriors of Darkness part in post HW, that patch was notorious because it had shit content, not because it was badly written. moronic tourist.
i did not remember anything he did in HW and i was shocked that the game expected me to care so much or that the fans themselves cared >NOOOO NOT BINGO BONGUS HE SAID HI TO ME ONCE NOOOOOOOOO
So lads we have >a rough idea of what the new jobs will do based on trait lists and inferences from particle effects associated with Abilities/Spells/Weaponskills/self-buffs >all region/zone names except for the secret final zone >a quest count that tells us how long the 7.0 expansion will be and what job groupings get role quests >skill animations and artifact armors
All out of the fricking benchmark. This is better than a Blufever leak obviously but nobody's really seeming to pay it much mind
It's easier and affords more writing opportunities than job-specific quests and most job quests were already spinning their wheels during Heavensward
Viper and Pictomancer do apparently get their own job quests like Reaper/Sage and Dancer/Gunbreaker did so that's good
>affords more writing opportunity >What is probably like 4 (assuming tank, healer, melee, ranged groupings), 5 quest questlines is more writing opportunity than a few quests tailored to each job
No.
Having to create separate questlines for each job as more and more jobs get added gets taxing and job quests were wearing out their welcome anyway.
>job quests were wearing out their welcome
Frick that.
>than a few quests tailored to each job
way to undersell 5 quest questlines for 21 jobs, all of which except viper and pictomancer have already had their ongoing plots resolved or completely solved, infamously at level 50 already in warrior and paladin's cases leading to irrelevant stretches all the way from 51 to 70 + their 80 touchstone quest, instead of 5 quest questlines along 5 role groupings + all the role quest partners coming together for something if all of them are done
I won't say role quests are bad, but acting like most jobs have "finished" questlines or nothing to do with them is blatantly wrong.
Paladin order being rebuilt
Monk progress with the Fists back up
The whole Dancer thing (no, it wasn't fricking teasing EW events you fricking frog brained morons)
Gunbreaker has stuff that could be done
Red Mage literally has someone you could be the mentor for
Etc.
Just because SB went low effort on them doesn't mean they can't do anything else.
The amount of crafting jobs has stayed the same, but they insist on wasting the extremely fine work of a goldsmith on rough bullshit that a weapon/armorsmith could easily handle.
I don't want sex. I just want friends that aren't trying to frick me every day. I don't care if they frick. I am just too tired every day for people to be trying to type frick me or get me to install a ton of mods
Idk how this is an issue for people. Just don't hang out in casual circles.
You have to understand that the only way that this happens is when people want to turn FF14 into their second life and treat the game as something where they must be terminally online. They come to the game and complete the content, but misunderstand the journey and form an addiction to their hotter-than-themselves avatar. The story ends but there's no end-of-patch credit roll that boots them to the main menu and tells them "ok see you in 4 months". There's nothing left but they want to keep experiencing being their character.
So they'll seek a grind with no meaningful journey. Except it's not a grind, but an excuse. An excuse for people to log in and look at their avatars that are much hotter than them. Maybe it's "real" content in the game like relic weapons, or maybe it's fake content people make up like RP and clubs. Regardless, for casual players, this is the main draw of FF14. It's not a game for them to experience. It is escapism. In 14, they're not ugly, overweight, with no prospects of forming social connections. They'll do anything to hold onto that, like burning up their GPUs to loiter in cities.
So if you engage in casual content, these are the circles you inevitably cross. Not people who want to play a game, but people who want any experience of being their character.
FF14's strongest features are its content with concrete end points, ie story and raiding. You do the story, you complete the fights/raids (for the love of god do not get into parsing/speedrunning it's all RNG), and then come back to the game when more content is available. Is this HC? No not really, you're just playing the game for what it has to offer. Is it not-casual? I guess so. Do this with like-minded people and then leave. You run into way less ERP-brainrotted nutjobs. It really is that simple
>we moved onto the "actually, the Zero arc was completely fine" phase
These people are 100% guaranteed from Reddit, do not bother. The exact same type of poster who will yell "you just want GoT!" when you say that the Scions need something fricking better to do by now.
>THEY HAD TO DIE OR SOME SHIT!
Thanks for immediately proving my point. You simply cannot fathom that you could do something more with their characters instead of letting them become caricatures of themselves.
I didn't see the last thread, but Estinien is a good example of a character being a shadow of his former self. During HW, SB and even ShB he was a competent fighter on the same, sometimes even higher level than the WoL, with an agenda entirely of his own. He was an extremely rare case of a strong side character going off to do things he considered right, without asking or informing the WoL beforehand.
In EW, he does effectively nothing worth mentioning (apart from the final sacrifice, which wasn't bad or anything, but so obviously fake and hollow that I had to roll my eyes), and his gratitude towards Alphinaud becomes borderline obsessive, even though he had a stronger connection to the WoL previously.
I agree with this. I didn't want Estinien to become a Scion. He was cool as a bro that would show up once a while to help and his scenes in Stormblood and Shadowbringers did give the impression he was on par with WoL. Now he is a joke. How many times does he just jump attack someone in EW just to be made a fool? Atleast 3.
>He was an extremely rare case of a strong side character going off to do things he considered right, without asking or informing the WoL beforehand.
Hell, all the Scions used to be like that. Remember when Y'shtola was the type of person who would walk up to Merlwyb and shit talk her for creating her own threat to her nation? Remember when they slaughtered their way out of Ul'dah? Remember when they upended the entire foundation of Ishgard because it was the right thing to do? They used to be a clandestine group that was going to save you whether you liked it or not. Now they go around and ask permission of the entire continent before running a cable.
>During HW, SB and even ShB he was a competent fighter on the same, sometimes even higher level than the WoL, with an agenda entirely of his own.
He still has an agenda of his own. He's only going to be in DT because he just felt like going to Tural. >He was an extremely rare case of a strong side character going off to do things he considered right, without asking or informing the WoL beforehand.
As far as I can remember, this hasn't changed. The guy still basically does what he wants to do, it just so happens that he wants to work with/be a Scion.
I think I can agree that EW wasn't the best expansion for Estinien to make his Scion-debut in because the guy is so out of the loop with the Ascians and Ancients and all that, but I don't see a problem with him and Alphinaud having a bond of their own. It was established even in HW that Alphinaud sees him as a brotherly figure and Estinien see his dead younger brother in Alphinaud.
>it just so happens that every single interest and action of his aligns with us >thinks Estinien's relationship with Alphinaud has to be mutually exclusive with his relationship with us
Are you going to actually talk about the writing in a critical manner or will it just be disingenuous "actually everything is fine" stuff?
>it just so happens that every single interest and action of his aligns with us
I didn't say that. I said he's still out there doing what he wants, he's just also out friend. >thinks Estinien's relationship with Alphinaud has to be mutually exclusive with his relationship with us
I also didn't say that. I said it's fine that Estinien's and Alphinaud's friendship is different than the friendship Estinien has with the Wol. I also think calling their bond obsessive is hyperbole.

I'll give you that he was able to get Vtra out of hiding, though that "dilemma" was so minor that I had to look up what exactly even happened, and even know I'm not sure what exactly he did.

No, but having a character around who has barely any moments apart from "hey remember THIS from 9 years ago?" gets a bit boring after a while. If his role is to just constantly recall faded glory as a character then maybe give him an actual, new glory moment again, or something along those lines.
This. The problem with some (not all) of the scions is their lack of independence and agency. Telling us "yeah they're off doing... something haha" for 6 patches isn't interesting or engaging.
>when you say that the Scions need something fricking better to do by now.
They already are. Urianger and Thancred are on an independent job. Y'shtola is researching shard-hopping. The twins are giving Garlemald some space while trying to find other ways to help them. Krile is on some sort of spirit quest to get closure with her dead grandfather. G'raha and Estinien are the only ones not "doing anything". >but I want them to do those things away from me!!
I think you already know you're never going to completely get that. Yoshida already said they don't plan on permanently retiring the Scions. They're just too popular and too convenient.
>Urianger and Thancred are on an independent job.
Thancred has literally no agency at all. Urianger is still a good character with strong moments, so I can forgive him being a bit aimless. >Y'shtola is researching shard-hopping.
Which she has been doing for a very, very long time now, and when finally something happens in that regard it's more like she is accidently at the scene. >The twins are giving Garlemald some space while trying to find other ways to help them.
Which they have been doing since the middle part of EW. >Krile is on some sort of spirit quest to get closure with her dead grandfather.
Which she has been doing since fricking Stormblood. >G'raha and Estinien are the only ones not "doing anything".
Ironically enough Estinien is one of the few characters where it makes sense that he's just a drifter. G'raha is still obsessed with us, which is a shit motivation in terms of character writing but at least it's something.
G'raha's in this weird ass place where half the time he's the goofy fanboy of you he was before he was locked into the Tower, but then once in awhile that wise old man city leader Exarch will come out, like when he takes charge of calming down the people when the Final Days started.
>but then once in awhile that wise old man city leader Exarch will come out, like when he takes charge of calming down the people when the Final Days started.
This was probably the most embarrassing moment of all of EW. I actually like G'raha, but there was nothing impressive about him in that scene at all. He literally just stands there and yells at like three people.
>complaining that big complex problems take a long time to hash out
I bet you'd also be whining if they just solved everything in the course of one expansion
If they take a lot of time, then show the characters making some kind of progress (actual progress, not "this might help me in the future!" throwaways), or have them do TWO things at once.
That guy is complaining about Scions not having a life but I can tell he hates Lyse. Lyse had her own goal that was important to her. She left the group to do it. Because like her or not she has a personality.
I think 5.3 sucks.
Elidibus is and always will be the worst written villain in the game.
Graha Tia should have died and the way he is kept alive is fricked up. Rewriting your younger self's brain is fricked up.
Elidibus was poorly written until 5.3 asspulled an explanation for why he was so incoherently written, and then he retroactively became kino. Notably, nobody tried to make excuses for Elidibus's writing before 5.3, he was widely considered to be a complete joke and the stupidest fricking character in the entire game.
>Elidibus was poorly written until 5.3 asspulled an explanation for why he was so incoherently written,
Bro just say your character has bad memory. Now he's good!
The only time I thought Elidibus was a good character was when I mistakenly believed he was a kid. A kid the convocation tricked/forced into Zodiark because his childish superhero view on saving everyone was needed to mold Zodiark's will.
But I was wrong. He's just another poorly written bishi for fangirls to draw fricking WoL.

>when he takes charge of calming down the people when the Final Days started.
HEY CALM DOWN!
What the frick was so wise about it? He didn't do anything special. Same dialogue could come out of Thancred or Y'shtola and it wouldn't be out of place.
That's like every Final Days scene in EW >AAAHHHHHH I'M SAD AND I'M GOING INSANE AAAAHHHH!!!!! >Scion of the scene: "Don't be sad!" >AAAAaaahh--- W-whoa, I'm not sad anymore! We can do this!
I still don't understand what the frick Elidibus was doing pre ShB. In fact I don't think I understand any of his actions beyond trying to kill the WoL in a stupidly convoluted manner in 5.3
Elidibus turned into a WoL primal to sustain himself because he wasn't getting Zodiark faith anymore. This meant that the faith being directed at him was coming from so many people who desired so many different things that his actions became erratic. Even he doesn't know what he was doing pre-ShB, he was just a primal running on code that was constantly being rewritten.
>Elidibus was poorly written until 5.3 asspulled an explanation for why he was so incoherently written,

>Bro just say your character has bad memory. Now he's good!
The situation is more complicated than that.
>Even he doesn't know what he was doing pre-ShB, he was just a primal running on code that was constantly being rewritten.
He had Emet and Lahabrea to tell him to pull himself together. His actions only seem distantly related to bringing about a rejoining
Pretty much, this is mainly to pad time until 7.0, reprise the event for anybody that wanted something from its last run and didn't get it, and give the new blood a chance at it.
You mean to tell me the main characters in the game just so happen to congregate around the main character? How terribly convenient, what is Corvos' tax policy?
EW should have been two xpacs. The Final Days didn't have time to be "dark" enough. The average Eorzean wouldn't have even known it was happening. None of the Scions had weak moments where they might have turned. I like the story of EW, it's interesting, more than generic isekaibringers, but it fell flat in a lot places. Probably because they wanted it to be over in 6.0 with no lose ends for the patches.
The Final Days was such a fricking let down. It really felt like a mere local disaster rather than the apocalypse they spent a decade hyping it up as. The role quests didn't help either, most of them boiled down "yeah we got this monster running around please spend a few quests figuring out what it is and how to stop it then stop it"
Wasn't it most of the point that the sundered societies had that shit on lockdown instead of running around trailing poop like the ancients did? That was the impression I got
hmm...now why would that be convenient? is it convenient that eorzea canonically has very high ambient aether around it, like enough that newcomers to the area get ill?
I know the explanation they gave for why only certain areas are hit by it, but that's not something they had to do. It made the whole apocalypse event feel very weak.
Yeah I think so. Same with Scions not having weak moments. I think it is to show how sundered are better than Ancients. It makes sense for the theme, but also weakens the ultimate threat.
>It really felt like a mere local disaster rather than the apocalypse they spent a decade hyping it up as
1. it was established in Amaurot that it doesn't happen worldwide all at once, stop being a speedreader
2. the concept of the Final Days was only introduced in Shadowbringers, which is not a decade old
>I don't want the Wol to have friends who care about them, I just want aloof buttholes who only respect the Wol and occasionally show up to nod knowingly at them before disappearing for another expansion
You guys could've saved Zenos if you liked him louder
I unironically want a FF mmo that has the protagonist be more like the runescape protagonist in that he is just a murderhobo who's just in it for shits and giggles and is treated as such.
> I unironically want a FF mmo that has the protagonist be more like the runescape protagonist in that he is just a murderhobo who's just in it for shits and giggles and is treated as such.
I liked him loudly. I heard so many people be all "he sucks in SB but gets better later" and he was gigachad in SB.
The man walked in, chadwalked all over Lise, cast deletea yshtola to remove yshtola from the plot, chadwalked on you, then just fricking leaves because "I'm bored".
Man was a legend and I hope he comes back somehow.
According to some of the posters in these threads every character has to be exactly the same, sadly. Any deviance from this means you want all scions to get raped and killed.
>every character is the same >every job is the same >every fight is the same >every asset is the same
XIV BROS WE OUT HERE DOIN THE THINGS
EVERYTHING ONE THING YOOOOOOO
I'm probably being generous here but what I think they really want is for a Scion to just tell the Wol 'no' for once, or for there to be an actual disagreement that isn't resolved within an expansion, or perhaps ever. Which I think isn't a super unreasonable want, but the story just hasn't had room to explore that. Shadowbringers and Endwalker would've been awful moments for the Scions to go through an argument or minor falling out (though Y'shtola kind of did have ones with Thancred and Urianger in SHB). It also depends on what that disagreement is.
I guarantee you that the people who think all of the Scions are great characters right now also think there was nothing wrong with Lyse. They're unable to understand that when a character's role in a story is bad for a prolonged amount of time, then that character eventually turns bad too. But it's fine, Estinien is bad with money, those are the traits that made him so beloved to begin with, right...
>I guarantee you that the people who think all of the Scions are great characters right now also think there was nothing wrong with Lyse
LOL Lyse is the character you want the Scions to be. She had a goal outside of being WoL's fanclub. She worked towards it. She the left the group to live it because it was important to HER. You are whinging the other Scions aren't doing this.
Ysayle was so thirsty for dragon wiener that she was mindbroken by Hraesvalgr rejecting her. No way she would frick Estinien since he didn't have Nidhogg powers at that point in the story
No, but imagine a time when two characters, in real time, not in some vague memory, have proper interactions and relationships with each other that go beyond "ur my friend" or "ur so funny".
I wouldn't mind there being some inter-group tension again in DT, maybe this whole solving the civil strife stuff will lead to some good back and forth between characters.
I mean I'm anticipating this, I just think there's room for the Scions to still be friends/close to each other and them having real disagreements with each other to the point that maybe for a little bit they don't talk. But this guy seems to want permanent fragmentation which is unlikely to happen, and hates the idea that the characters could behave like adults and end up resolving things down the line.
>Alisaie beefs with Alphinaud in ARR and fricks off until HW patches (if you don't do Coils) >Y'shtola almost always had a one-sided beef going on with Urianger >Thancred was lowkey beefing with everyone post-ARR until SHB
I think it's time for G'raha to call someone a slur
so when does the story get good
i played through heavensward and I thought it was much better than ARR but I still feel nothing towards any of the characters
stormblood is the one everyone says is amazing right? i'm excited for it
Heavensward and Shadowbringers are the ones everyone likes. Stormblood is considered to be a low point. If you didn't like HW you probably won't make it through Stormblood.
Watch the 1.0 Ul'dah opening cutscene. The age difference when they first met is sort of exaggerated because Minfilia was still a pre-teen but Thancred was in his late teens.
It was supposed to be brother/sister
It's a mix of both. He tried to take on a fatherly role for her and F'lhaminn but he didn't do a good job at it.
>we Domans are so strong, so powerful! we don't need no garleans to tell us what to do! >.....anyway, warrior of light? you got some items you wanna sell? we're a bit scrapped for cash....hehe...
Ninja gets to dump all their hand magic every minute and does fricking nothing for the other 45 seconds. Some say learning the burst is hard, I don't see it. Dragoon is just a static rotation and cursing GCD clipping. Samurai used to be fun but now it's pretty lobotomized and hard to get wrong but it does feel like you're hitting hard a lot. Personally the most fun melee is monk
Other than needing permission to use a Tower two patches in a row, I had no problems with post EW story. I thought it was good. I hope we see Zero again some day either after she saved the 13th or maybe in a future xpacs exploratory zone we go help her.
>needing permission to use a Tower two patches in a row
I honestly liked that they did this for the garleans since they're such petty Black folk
but they kinda ruined the norvrandt people by even implying they will be hurt by it, they endured 100 years of suffering AND elidibus' attacks using the crystal tower, the thought of using the tower hurting their feelings is fricking insulting
i'd like to point out that the crystarium types are more hardy than your average norvrandtian. its not 'we're asking because it'll scare ya' its more 'its your tower'
>now as to why we had togo to raktika i dunno
because the Night's Blessed worship the darkness in general, so if they were to see the crystal tower shooting light into the sky, they would be more than justified to be scared of another flood of light and to be angry at the crystarians for triggering it, so obviously you need to warn them so they don't worry about it
If you ONLY care about getting 3 lines, I'd go with that just because I don't want to do roulettes for rerolls
Technically the best odds of getting a 3-line is to reroll until you get 2 lines, with one of the lines being a diagonal. It's very rare though.
A single line doesn't actually increase your odds for the jackpot, but it of course does increase odds of getting 1 or 2 lines.
Really SE here, a side quest will be convincing Zero to play volleyball with you and all your friends and show her the meaning of fun in the sun. She doesn't understandu the concept of a vacation.
Only LGBT freaks like Gaia and throw a fit when you remind them the girls aren't gay and the rainbow was a reference to God's promise to Noah, not their flag.

This is a reference to the shortened lifespan mankind was given after Noah, worded as, "The days of his years shall be threescore and ten." I'm sure you also noticed the "days of his years" is referenced again later in the song >Fourfold knowing, no end in sight
This is a reference to the 'Fourfold Witness', another name for the four gospels, emphasizing the truth of the story via four witnesses.
The Eden raid series is about the end of the FLOOD of Light. And so the end of the Flood is signified by the creation of a rainbow, an allusion to the story of Noah's Ark in which God created the rainbow at the end of the flood as a sign of His new covenant with mankind. Notably, the Floods of Light and Darkness are originally concepts from FF3, in which the creator god of that world was named Noah.
I mean the story did strike me as kind of homosexual but to his credit the final tier is literally called Eden's PROMISE
Banri Oda said his favorite book is the Bible.
you do know the whole story of ffxvi is how the church is bad and religion is entirely evil, but no, I'm sure the based and trad xiv writers had no intention of having any homosexual allusions and it was all just one big coincy dink!

That's the wrong game, first of all. Second of all, Clive wasn't fighting to get rid of religion, he just happened to have to fight two religious orders on his actual quest because they were blocking his path. Clive's issue isn't with religion but with the entire social order of people relying on crystals and using bearers as slaves. He's basically Ted Kaczynski.

so he's basically your standard progressive then. this is clearly showed when he makes fun of Barnabas, who is characterized as the pious one who makes sacrifices. Clive chides him for not being his own man and doing things his own way. Basically, Clive represents your average progressive worldview for the past 60 years >He's basically Ted Kaczynski.

Clive believes in freedom and self-determination which are anathema to 'progressives' who have wet dreams of being an officer in a tyrant state. Self-determination is the whole point of God granting free will to mankind. >You know for being such a big fan of the Bible you don't seem to have actually read it.
Of the few times Satan appears in the Bible the only time he says anything even tangentially related to 'freedom' is when he offers Jesus the chance to rule over everyone on the planet as a godking and Jesus tells him to blow it out his ass.

no, free will is to give humans the choice of doing God's will. ignoring the objective reality of sin that curses all of our bodies is Satan's mistake and what causes hid downfall. He believes he can do no wrong because he hates God

Yes, because Biblical literalism is a heresy and you're supposed to understand that the point of the story of Eden is that evolving beyond the understanding of an animal comes with the price of your innocence. Viewing the expulsion from Eden as a punishment is a very surface level reading of the story. It's a consequence, not a punishment. To understand good and evil, ie to have a conscience, means that all your actions and choices now have weight. To be able to make good choices, you must also have bad choices available to you, and you must understand what they each mean. To come closer to God, one has to be able to consciously make good decisions. >you are not a true Christian. repent and find Christ, heretic.
Weren't you just trying to claim that Noah's Ark is an obscure story?

It's always the same. Shit gets datamined and everyone gets excited for it, and then it turns out to be either from the cash shop, the FOMO monthly "trading post" (for which you can also spend cash to buy the currency you're timegated at collecting) selection a year later, or tied to some achievement that requires you to be subbed for a year.
It's this shit more than anything else that makes me lose any goodwill towards giving WoW a chance again. They've become nearly as bad as Bungie with how they handled Destiny 2.
I want to be surrounded by Miqo'te women as they pump up with explosive goo, swelling and creaking and moaning until they reach their limits and detonate (non lethally)
Dion is a gay but this actually has a reason to exist in the story. It isn't there just for the sake of homosexualry. It's so he has something to hide from his father that the astrologers divine that he's being dishonest and the evil c**t can take advantage of that.

I got my Gae Bolg... MMOs make me feel like such a fricking idiot, the progression never makes sense.
Gae Bolg is from previous FF games, how have you not heard of it? as someone who also recently hit 50-ish in the trial though, I'm glad I found out about the 130 gear before starting that grind for my artifact weapon
10 years ago, all that grinding would eventually land you the best weapon you could get your hands on that expansion. Now, it's just for achievements, glams, or grindings sake. Every time you finish an expansion's MSQ, be on the lookout for someone who will sell you a full set of powerful armor/weapons in one of the cities from that expansion.
You might not appreciate that it was a "relic" of its time. This is like the only relic weapon step ever that had you do a bunch of then-endgame content. It was basically "please play our 2.0 endgame with your brand new max level character and get the poster weapon to go with your poster armor set". Honestly even then it wasn't a chore. You basically just ran all the casual-level puggable content. And why wouldn't you? It's content. That's what you're playing for. You do the theme park attractions and you get a cool weapon.
Now, like 10 years later, the devs rightly want you to not worry too much about gear as you're leveling up. At 50, you now have the entire suite of ARR dungeons/MSQ to do, which are tuned for ilvls range from like 55 from the chest piece you get when you finish your final class quest to 130 for final coil. Same with 60/70/80 and soon to be 90. So now the devs basically hand you the max ilvl gear of the time for free so you can just keep playing the game
Common enough that a lot of raiders have stories of encountering cheaters in PF, but far from standard and still considered shameful. People will laugh at you and you will be kicked out of statics if you are known to be a Splatoon user. >What are the best one alongside this one?
Cammy (zoomhack)
Various rotation bots
Combine all of these tools and you don't have to think about your rotation, you can see the whole arena at once, and splatoon will tell you where to go. So you can lazily WASD your way to victory, having successfully extracted all gameplay out of the game.
I couldn't care less if a random ultimate pf has a splatoon user, that just means there's one less player messing up stuff. At the end of the day people just want their clears and don't care if there's cheaters in their group. It's also really easy to install and presets are public, no paywall or anything.
Quick, Americans are asleep we can talk about the game.
What future content will come from pic related? These guys are insanely busy and they don't do these pictures just for fun, it was to tease for something, what is it?
Oh, I thought maybe there'd be some crossover with Clive being a character in Tekken similar to Noctis. Maybe some advice on future battle content in FF14, as it's now home to a lot of the FGC as well. But as you say, perhaps it purely is what is presented at face value, just a meal among friends.

>remembers a random 30 second conversation she had with two strangers 10,000 years ago
>Her entire character is self-contradictory
>Doesn't help others without being paid, literally shelters a group of voidsent outcasts for no reason
>Claims to not understand basic human emotions, meanwhile voidsent are shown to still have basic human emotions
>entire personality is passive and uncaring, voidsent are heavily tilted toward the astral and every other voidsent ever seen is highly emotional and driven to activity
I don't see the big deal here.
>doesn't remember basic concepts such as eating food or what friendship is
>remembers a random 30 second conversation she had with two strangers 10,000 years ago
>Nothing I'm talking about has anything to do with the Echo
You are complaining about a character having memory asspulls that are way WAY less convenient than the fricking Echo. You are a tool.
The Echo is literally a fricking superpower that tells you things you didn't know before. What are you even rambling about? Of course it's convenient because it's a superpower. Zero's inconsistency has nothing to do with this, it's poor writing exactly because it has no explanation at all, unlike if she regained memories because of the Echo. Are you stupid or something?
LOL The Echo is and always has been garbage writing. You are complaining about memory shit that is nowhere near as big of a convenient asspull writer tool. You are a joke.
>oh wow so superman just HAPPENS to have super strength! how convenient!
A superpower and just flat out inconsistent writing are not comparable.
And the Venat we got was shit. Rather than being a hero following her convictions, she ended up being another WoL simp following a safe little script laid out for her. All so twitter could take Emet-Selch screenshots.
>And the Venat we got was shit.
way to stick to your own premise, i'll take your concession of venat headcanons by check or money order
Do you just type random words and hope they mean something?
do you type this specific sequence of words when you lose an argument
>oh wow so demongirl just HAPPENS to have demon strength! how convenient!
As I said, you are a joke.
Can you show me where you imagined that anyone has a problem with Zero being strong?
Damn you dropped the capitalization AND punctuation. You must be fuming.
b***h Black person tears from a wannabe grammar nazi who lost an argument, i'm waiting on that concession in the mail
>Caring about the post patch story when the Endwalker story utterly fugged the the past 10 years of build up.
Some moments were pretty neato to be fair tho.
Can we just move on and forget about Endwalker, hope Dawntrail isnt slop.
Nah. You are mentally ill.
I fail to see why I'm supposed to think Post EW story is worse than Warriors of Darkness crap post HW, the 50 fetch quests post ARR, the UGUUU Yotsuyu arc post SB and every patch bar 5.3 post ShB
Because it's badly written and contradicts itself and previous lore constantly. It's amateurish.
You mean just like the rest of teh game?
No?
So you ARE mentally ill.
Use your words like a big boy.
Only a mentally ill spastic would deny this game is poorly written and made up as it goes. I've said enough, and as have you.
>Only a mentally ill spastic would deny this game is poorly written
It's not, THO. Not most of it, anyway.
>and made up as it goes
It's absolutely made up as they go but they're very good at being consistent and coherent, and tying previous loose ends in a satisfying way that makes them seem planned out years in advance. Except the Zero story arc, for some reason.
>and tying previous loose ends in a satisfying way
I don't find badly written time travel, ass pull resurrections, making everything a creation of muh ancients and more garbage like that satisfying.
Also
lol
>nor does it spit in the face of previously established lore like Zero's arc does
That's why these threads regularly have trancers mad about zodiark being a battery powering a dome. You've yet to give a single reason why I'm supposed to find post EW story worse than any other of the shitty post expac stories. None of them are particularly good. Only Illberd stands out imo.
>That's why these threads regularly have trancers mad about zodiark being a battery powering a dome.
What the frick does this non sequitor have to do with anything?
>You've yet to give a single reason why I'm supposed to find post EW story worse than any other of the shitty post expac stories.
Because it contradicts itself constantly, from scene to scene. That's reason alone to criticize it. No other post-expansion story has those issues. Or maybe they do? You can't seem to make up your mind as to whether the game is shit or not. You're defending this one story arc really hard in the same breath you say that the entire game is trash.
>What the frick does this non sequitor have to do with anything?
I can't fix your mental illness. Learn to read.
>Because it contradicts itself constantly,
Yet your example is what? Zero remembering a conversation? This is called reaching.
>You can't seem to make up your mind as to whether the game is shit or not.
I've consistently said the post xpac stories are shit.
>I can't fix your mental illness. Learn to read.
You're just babbling nonsense. What the frick do cutscene skipping trancers have to do with Zero's arc contradicting established lore?
>EWs story is bad because trancers exist
homosexual.
EW's story suffers from being written by an Emet fangirl for Emet fangirls. Remove the 5 hours of fanservice of that dead moron and there'd be time to actually write something decent instead of lol timeloop. Maybe Dawntrail can do something decent now that the fujoshit is gone, but I won't be playing it any time soon.
I don't particularly like Emet or the way he was being jacked off, but you're reducing an entire expansion to a single character, who doesn't even have that much screentime to begin with.
Because Elpis was the part of EW that sucked.
Half of Elpis was pretty cool, actually. Your hate for Emet makes you forget that he wasn't even the main character of that zone.
elpis hate in these threads are an extension of dumb roleplayers and zodarq trencars who were overly attached to emet-selch and saw him "ruined" and by ruined i mean they saw him much younger and before committing eight genocides
My Elpis hate comes from them ruining Venat's character for the sake of Emet fanservice, so blow your strawman out your ass.
venat barely had a character, endwalker is the most screen time both she and hydaelyn get, there really is no angle to take here but that they did not end up following your preconceptions also known as headcanons
I haven't seen any Emetgays cry about the way he looks.
They cry about the way he acts which is as he says, when he's 12,000 years younger and also hasn't killed 7 planets and most of another one.
Yeah bro, I'm so glad we got hours of Emet when we could have had a more accurate Sundering scene instead of abridged version.
>this part of the game is bad
>no it isn't
>yes it is!
>actually the whole game is shit!
I liked Zero but I gotta agree that 6.3 and 6.4 were unnecessarily identical. It almost feels like they were making a joke about how the game has two towers that cause trauma. Hey wait a second.
There was nothing wrong with the Warriors of Darkness part in post HW, that patch was notorious because it had shit content, not because it was badly written. moronic tourist.
you kinda seem mad doe
True
Tbh maybe someone else important to the Wol does need to die so they can stop obsessing over this guy. Though maybe Emet is the new Haurchefant.
I like him and I'm glad he died to. It made for a good story.
i did not remember anything he did in HW and i was shocked that the game expected me to care so much or that the fans themselves cared
>NOOOO NOT BINGO BONGUS HE SAID HI TO ME ONCE NOOOOOOOOO
You obviously skipped the story. He was the one who helped you and your comrades get back on their feet after being betrayed and almost killed.
Bwo???

So lads we have
>a rough idea of what the new jobs will do based on trait lists and inferences from particle effects associated with Abilities/Spells/Weaponskills/self-buffs
>all region/zone names except for the secret final zone
>a quest count that tells us how long the 7.0 expansion will be and what job groupings get role quests
>skill animations and artifact armors
All out of the fricking benchmark. This is better than a Blufever leak obviously but nobody's really seeming to pay it much mind
Datamines are standard fare. BLUfever leaks were fun because you didn't know if they were real or not.
This datamine is absolutely not standard fare, we're walking in with 7.0 information that's concrete.
What are the zone names? I missed out on that.
Mmm, yes I see, thank you.
I'm going to hate trying to remember these heya hoya heya hoya names. Just going to shorthand it to urqo, koza, yaktel, shaaloni, and tully.
I only care about Viper and the Dragoon rework
>he thinks the quest count is final
>role quests
Fricking
WHY
It's easier and affords more writing opportunities than job-specific quests and most job quests were already spinning their wheels during Heavensward
Viper and Pictomancer do apparently get their own job quests like Reaper/Sage and Dancer/Gunbreaker did so that's good
>affords more writing opportunity
>What is probably like 4 (assuming tank, healer, melee, ranged groupings), 5 quest questlines is more writing opportunity than a few quests tailored to each job
No.
>job quests were wearing out their welcome
Frick that.
>than a few quests tailored to each job
way to undersell 5 quest questlines for 21 jobs, all of which except viper and pictomancer have already had their ongoing plots resolved or completely solved, infamously at level 50 already in warrior and paladin's cases leading to irrelevant stretches all the way from 51 to 70 + their 80 touchstone quest, instead of 5 quest questlines along 5 role groupings + all the role quest partners coming together for something if all of them are done
>those later Ninja quests
I shudder at the thought of them
I won't say role quests are bad, but acting like most jobs have "finished" questlines or nothing to do with them is blatantly wrong.
Paladin order being rebuilt
Monk progress with the Fists back up
The whole Dancer thing (no, it wasn't fricking teasing EW events you fricking frog brained morons)
Gunbreaker has stuff that could be done
Red Mage literally has someone you could be the mentor for
Etc.
Just because SB went low effort on them doesn't mean they can't do anything else.
Having to create separate questlines for each job as more and more jobs get added gets taxing and job quests were wearing out their welcome anyway.

Play something else. Try Lotro, WoW, ESO. Even FO76 is now popping off.
Stop being chained to something you dislike
FFXIV players understanding that people can just be friends challenge: IMPOSSIBLE DIFFICULTY
are you me?
Have you tried not playing on balmung?
why would i play on a smaller server?
Less headaches.
being a lala shields you from most of the crazies. despite what people may think
You say that when you just complained about everyone wanting to frick you. Just don't play on the ERP server, stupid.
what i said isn't mutually exclusive with that. the few people who do talk to strange lalas still want casual erp in addition to conversation
I don't play on balmung
I have recently given eso a try actually. I am just lost as hell in the game atm since I'm very new.
14 is full of perverts, I don't let my gf play it at all.
This is my only gripe with playing a male character, the homosexuals.
>I can't read subtext
>we moved onto the "actually, the Zero arc was completely fine" phase
These people are 100% guaranteed from Reddit, do not bother. The exact same type of poster who will yell "you just want GoT!" when you say that the Scions need something fricking better to do by now.
>he's still ignoring all the examples of character growth presented in last thread
NO! THEY HAD TO DIE OR SOME SHIT!
ALSO LYSE HAD SOMETHING FRICKING BETTER TO DO BUT SHE BAD!
This anon gets it. Inb4 "you just want them to die!" moron replies.
I think I can agree that EW wasn't the best expansion for Estinien to make his Scion-debut in because the guy is so out of the loop with the Ascians and Ancients and all that, but I don't see a problem with him and Alphinaud having a bond of their own. It was established even in HW that Alphinaud sees him as a brotherly figure and Estinien see his dead younger brother in Alphinaud.
>it just so happens that every single interest and action of his aligns with us
>thinks Estinien's relationship with Alphinaud has to be mutually exclusive with his relationship with us
Are you going to actually talk about the writing in a critical manner or will it just be disingenuous "actually everything is fine" stuff?
>it just so happens that every single interest and action of his aligns with us
I didn't say that.
>I also think calling their bond obsessive is hyperbole.
Tell me something about Estinien as a character in EW that doesn't involve Alphinaud in any manner.
He's a moron with money and overpaid several hundred times for a hair tie?
Truly riveting.
He knows how to get a dragon to stop being a b***h
Which is a callback to his character in HW. In fact, the scene becomes slightly worse due to him not having done ANYTHING in relation to what he is saying in EW at that point, although that problem is shared by Y'sthola and G'raha too.
He's the one who ultimately gets Vrtra to come out of hiding, and his talk with the Wol at the Annex is a pretty good one. He's the one who breaks through the dragons' area of Ultima Thule. We find out he's not great with money, and he doesn't know how to handle being crowded and some social situations. He willingly overpays for the treasure map because he wants some of it to go the orphan kid.
>inb4 you move the goalposts
See
and
I'll give you that he was able to get Vtra out of hiding, though that "dilemma" was so minor that I had to look up what exactly even happened, and even know I'm not sure what exactly he did.
And he still left a bigger impression. Turns out sheer screentime and endless talking isn't what makes a character interesting or engaging.
>Which is a callback to his character in HW.
Wait are you saying that each time Estinien shows up he should have completely different interests or something? That's not how people typically work.
G'raha is still obsessed with us, which is a shit motivation in terms of character writing but at least it's something.
>but then once in awhile that wise old man city leader Exarch will come out, like when he takes charge of calming down the people when the Final Days started.
4 down
You reminded me that I need to buy the portrait
Anyone else think this Black person is arguing with himself?
Probably
I think 5.3 sucks.
Elidibus is and always will be the worst written villain in the game.
Graha Tia should have died and the way he is kept alive is fricked up. Rewriting your younger self's brain is fricked up.
>Rewriting your younger self's brain is fricked up.
He didn't rewrite anything, that's exactly why the soul-merging worked so well.
Elidibus was poorly written until 5.3 asspulled an explanation for why he was so incoherently written, and then he retroactively became kino. Notably, nobody tried to make excuses for Elidibus's writing before 5.3, he was widely considered to be a complete joke and the stupidest fricking character in the entire game.
i disagree. Elidibus went to A tier character when he said 'What, and you expect me to tell you my plan because you asked?' in 5.2
>Elidibus was poorly written until 5.3 asspulled an explanation for why he was so incoherently written,
Bro just say your character has bad memory.
G'raha's in this weird ass place where half the time he's the goofy fanboy of you he was before he was locked into the Tower, but then once in awhile that wise old man city leader Exarch will come out, like when he takes charge of calming down the people when the Final Days started.
>when he takes charge of calming down the people when the Final Days started.
HEY CALM DOWN!
What the frick was so wise about it? He didn't do anything special. Same dialogue could come out of Thancred or Y'shtola and it wouldn't be out of place.
That's like every Final Days scene in EW
>AAAHHHHHH I'M SAD AND I'M GOING INSANE AAAAHHHH!!!!!
>Scion of the scene: "Don't be sad!"
>AAAAaaahh--- W-whoa, I'm not sad anymore! We can do this!
Nah, Matsya's scene where he recites his religion to calm his people down was great.
I will ignore graha until it fanta to a femquote
I still don't understand what the frick Elidibus was doing pre ShB. In fact I don't think I understand any of his actions beyond trying to kill the WoL in a stupidly convoluted manner in 5.3
Elidibus turned into a WoL primal to sustain himself because he wasn't getting Zodiark faith anymore. This meant that the faith being directed at him was coming from so many people who desired so many different things that his actions became erratic. Even he doesn't know what he was doing pre-ShB, he was just a primal running on code that was constantly being rewritten.
They mentioned times when he also fought against the other Ascians too.
Actually, the portrait was the only new thing if you have the glowing sperm, right?
Pretty much, this is mainly to pad time until 7.0, reprise the event for anybody that wanted something from its last run and didn't get it, and give the new blood a chance at it.
I just wanted to see what Yokai is up to as of late and I got a chuckle out of this
You mean to tell me the main characters in the game just so happen to congregate around the main character? How terribly convenient, what is Corvos' tax policy?
>G-GoT
KWAB
Estinien in HW, SB and ShB did not congregate around the main character, at least not in the manner you are trying to push here.
he was barely in two of those
EW should have been two xpacs.
Urianger at the very least should have been struggling against the dynamis bombardment.
The Final Days just didn't even happen in Eorzea. They couldn't even change the skybox to the starshower?
That's for spots with weird aether currents in the sky that Meteion is worming through which conveniently are mostly Garlemald and Thavnair
hmm...now why would that be convenient? is it convenient that eorzea canonically has very high ambient aether around it, like enough that newcomers to the area get ill?
The best part is Zenos calls you a moron if you say you really do want to be friends in Stormblood
>I can't fathom that SOME characters could act differently than others, so now you have to read my moronic hyperbole strawman
That, I can’t deny
I liked him loudly. I heard so many people be all "he sucks in SB but gets better later" and he was gigachad in SB.
The man walked in, chadwalked all over Lise, cast deletea yshtola to remove yshtola from the plot, chadwalked on you, then just fricking leaves because "I'm bored".
Man was a legend and I hope he comes back somehow.
I like the Scions and I wouldn't mind a proper rival for the Wol. Zenos just wasn't it.
According to some of the posters in these threads every character has to be exactly the same, sadly. Any deviance from this means you want all scions to get raped and killed.
I want the Scions to stay my friends 🙂 I just wouldn't say no to a new character.
I want to rape Alphinaud and kill Alisaie.

XIV BROS WE OUT HERE DOIN THE THINGS

>characters work together to achieve a common goal
>this means that they're all the exact same person
I'm probably being generous here but what I think they really want is for a Scion to just tell the Wol 'no' for once, or for there to be an actual disagreement that isn't resolved within an expansion, or perhaps ever. Which I think isn't a super unreasonable want, but the story just hasn't had room to explore that. Shadowbringers and Endwalker would've been awful moments for the Scions to go through an argument or minor falling out (though Y'shtola kind of did have ones with Thancred and Urianger in SHB). It also depends on what that disagreement is.
This thread is gay
so are you
Goofy ah zesty homie
I guarantee you that the people who think all of the Scions are great characters right now also think there was nothing wrong with Lyse. They're unable to understand that when a character's role in a story is bad for a prolonged amount of time, then that character eventually turns bad too. But it's fine, Estinien is bad with money, those are the traits that made him so beloved to begin with, right...
>also think there was nothing wrong with Lyse.
Nah
>characters should change but also they should always have the same traits for a decade
Worked for Estinien for 8 years.
You are whinging the other Scions aren't doing this.
>every character has to be the same
You will never understand good writing.

WOW SO HORRIBLE BRO
I for one find it refreshing to have a game with such stalwart comrades like the Scions, so tired of cynicism and negativity in media.
Loregods I have to ask, did Estinien and Ysayle bang?
no
Damn, couldn't even tap that iceussy once before she got got.
no and Estinien regrets that every day
Ysayle was so thirsty for dragon wiener that she was mindbroken by Hraesvalgr rejecting her. No way she would frick Estinien since he didn't have Nidhogg powers at that point in the story
>couldn't even get the rebound frick
Damn, no wonder he went off the edge like that.
No, but imagine a time when two characters, in real time, not in some vague memory, have proper interactions and relationships with each other that go beyond "ur my friend" or "ur so funny".
6.55?
If there's going to be some actual, proper tension between them I will eat my own ass. It's a promise, anon.
You really just want to see Urianger read someone else doncha
I agree that a Scion should die. I vote Graha Tia.
The 5.3 revelations didn't explain why he was afraid of katanas.
>Alisaie beefs with Alphinaud in ARR and fricks off until HW patches (if you don't do Coils)
>Y'shtola almost always had a one-sided beef going on with Urianger
>Thancred was lowkey beefing with everyone post-ARR until SHB
I think it's time for G'raha to call someone a slur
ironically he got called one the first out of all the scions with "catboy" immediately after coming back to the source
so when does the story get good
i played through heavensward and I thought it was much better than ARR but I still feel nothing towards any of the characters
stormblood is the one everyone says is amazing right? i'm excited for it
If you didn't feel anything for the characters in HW then you never will.
Heavensward and Shadowbringers are the ones everyone likes. Stormblood is considered to be a low point. If you didn't like HW you probably won't make it through Stormblood.
I don't like Shadowbringers. I like Stormblodd.
XIV only has a good story if you've literally never read a good book or played a good RPG ever
endwalker is the peak and everyone who says otherwise got filtered
I get that Thancred and Minfilia had a father/daughter dynamic going on but them looking the same age kind of made that confusing
It was supposed to be brother/sister
Watch the 1.0 Ul'dah opening cutscene. The age difference when they first met is sort of exaggerated because Minfilia was still a pre-teen but Thancred was in his late teens.
It's a mix of both. He tried to take on a fatherly role for her and F'lhaminn but he didn't do a good job at it.

Yeah but I finally got it
That shit took me fricking forever too.
I prefer hags.
Which is more fun, Ninja, Dragoon or Samurai?
SAM.
It's a shame Golbez got added to the game because that means we'll never get his armor now.
>Golbez........armor
ANON NO GET DOWN
lmao I get what you mean but I just like how it looks. Same goes for Thordan, it's a crime that we never got anything similar
loose waist
>needing permission to use a Tower two patches in a row
I honestly liked that they did this for the garleans since they're such petty Black folk
but they kinda ruined the norvrandt people by even implying they will be hurt by it, they endured 100 years of suffering AND elidibus' attacks using the crystal tower, the thought of using the tower hurting their feelings is fricking insulting
i'd like to point out that the crystarium types are more hardy than your average norvrandtian. its not 'we're asking because it'll scare ya' its more 'its your tower'
now as to why we had togo to raktika i dunno
>now as to why we had togo to raktika i dunno
because the Night's Blessed worship the darkness in general, so if they were to see the crystal tower shooting light into the sky, they would be more than justified to be scared of another flood of light and to be angry at the crystarians for triggering it, so obviously you need to warn them so they don't worry about it

You should always reroll if you don't get at least a line right?
Yeah and its still early you could use all those 8 second chances for reroll and get them back with roulettes later today etc.
Namazu are the best.

>obscure story
lol
you do know the whole story of ffxvi is how the church is bad and religion is entirely evil, but no, I'm sure the based and trad xiv writers had no intention of having any homosexual allusions and it was all just one big coincy dink!
Nice cope post you flaming homosexual. You got fricking owned.
>you do know the whole story of ffxvi is how the church is bad and religion is entirely evil
The evil empire are militant atheists who want to outlaw religion across the planet. Religion is never viewed in anything but a positive light. What's portrayed as being wrong is extremism of any kind.
so why did clive get rid of all religion if he viewed it in a positive light
yoshida is not based and trad, man. no matter how much you would want him to be.
>so why did clive get rid of all religion if he viewed it in a positive light
That's the wrong game, first of all. Second of all, Clive wasn't fighting to get rid of religion, he just happened to have to fight two religious orders on his actual quest because they were blocking his path. Clive's issue isn't with religion but with the entire social order of people relying on crystals and using bearers as slaves. He's basically Ted Kaczynski.
>That's the wrong game,
no its not, you are the one who went on about garleans because you can't read.
>he just happened to have to fight two religious orders on his actual quest because they were blocking his path. Clive's issue isn't with religion but with the entire social order of people relying on crystals and using bearers as slaves.
so he's basically your standard progressive then. this is clearly showed when he makes fun of Barnabas, who is characterized as the pious one who makes sacrifices. Clive chides him for not being his own man and doing things his own way. Basically, Clive represents your average progressive worldview for the past 60 years
>He's basically Ted Kaczynski.
lol
so how will you cope when they are inevitably revealed to be gay?
>so how will you cope when they are inevitably revealed to be gay?
Will never need to.
How do you cope that Gaia promised to meet her male lover again?
How do you cope that the main character of the next expansion is voiced by a filthy troon?
>no its not, you are the one who went on about garleans because you can't read.
You know this is a FF14 thread right?
>so he's basically your standard progressive then.
LOL, good one.
>Basically, Clive represents your average progressive worldview for the past 60 years
LOOOOOL
Posted from your iPhone put together by 6 year old Indonesian penny slaves.
Clive believes in freedom and self-determination which are anathema to 'progressives' who have wet dreams of being an officer in a tyrant state. He fights to free bearers from slavery, and to free everyone else from the slavery of technology (crystals) which made them soft and helpless, unable to even start fires without magic.
>You know this is a FF14 thread right?
you know you can't read right
>LOL, good one.
>Clive believes in freedom and self-determination which are anathema to 'progressives'
HAHAHAHA
Freedin abd self-determination are the main things that drive Satan. You know for being such a big fan of the Bible you don't seem to have actually read it.
>He fights to free bearers from slavery
hmm, sounds familiar...

>everybody is high on fentanyl and chopping their dicks off? how could this have happened?
thanks clive
You trying too hard bro.
why do you support homosexuality?
I don't?
>Freedin abd self-determination are the main things that drive Satan.
But Clive blows up technology, not God or religion. Your second point is a result of technology and oversocialization. In Clive's world everyone would be too busy working their gardens to chop their dicks off.
>Self-determination is the whole point of God granting free will to mankind.
no, free will is to give humans the choice of doing God's will. ignoring the objective reality of sin that curses all of our bodies is Satan's mistake and what causes hid downfall. He believes he can do no wrong because he hates God
you support people who support it, and who write it into their stories

refer to this gentlemen
>putting quotes around the objective truth of original sin that taints us all to this day
Yes, because Biblical literalism is a heresy and you're supposed to understand that the point of the story of Eden is that evolving beyond the understanding of an animal comes with the price of your innocence.
Weren't you just trying to claim that Noah's Ark is an obscure story?
its obscure to the heretics of today, yes
also
>evolving
you are ignoring centuries of theological development. its disgusting. you might as well join the German Bishops who twist the Bible into supporting cutting your dick off.
So I repeat. Repent and find Christ, heretic.
>triggered by the use of the word evolving
Are you an ESL that doesn't know that word has other meanings or something?
The only reason you can understand the beauty of God and strive to be close to Him is because you bear the weight of sin.
>is because you bear the weight of sin.
oh but didn't you hear? the modern "learned" opinion is that original sin isn't real! if we confess on our deathbeds, then it will all be ok. none of are cursed! we all have the freedom to be whatever we want to be. and if we want to be homosexual abominations with 5 legs and 12 breasts, well that's just God's plan!!
a bit unrelated, but this is a good article that has some side tangents on the curse of sin we all face
https://www.seekingthehiddenthing.com/p/the-case-for-coercive-christianity
I'll read that while I'm in bed, looks neat.
Sounds like protestant heresy.
join the german bishops then
>no, free will is to give humans the choice of doing God's will
Yes, choice. Self-determination. You make your own life with your own choices.
>ignoring the objective reality of sin that curses all of our bodies is Satan's mistake
That was the 'mistake' of Adam and Eve.
>In Clive's world everyone would be too busy working their gardens to chop their dicks off.
homosexuality and drug use comes from excessive liberalism and atheism, not from technology or oversocialization
>we weren't MEANING to get rid of religion, we just happened to kill all the priests and turn the cathedrals into "temples of reason" where we had homosexual orgies
>but we didn't INTEND to, you must understand
Nobody said anything about what the dev believes. You are just proving how fricking DUMB you are homo. You actually think corporations support you. What a moron.
>homosexual unable to stop spazzing out about religion
Really pathological with you types, probably the same daddy issues which cause you guys to cruise in truckstop bathrooms lmao
I'm sure the mderate liberal xiv writers were intending an obscure biblical reference instead of pandering during a year when that was very popular, lmao. If there's anything about CBU3, its that they are based and trad, I mean, have you played XVI?

This is a reference to the shortened lifespan mankind was given after Noah, worded as, "The days of his years shall be threescore and ten." I'm sure you also noticed the "days of his years" is referenced again later in the song
>Fourfold knowing, no end in sight
This is a reference to the 'Fourfold Witness', another name for the four gospels, emphasizing the truth of the story via four witnesses.
The Eden raid series is about the end of the FLOOD of Light. And so the end of the Flood is signified by the creation of a rainbow, an allusion to the story of Noah's Ark in which God created the rainbow at the end of the flood as a sign of His new covenant with mankind. Notably, the Floods of Light and Darkness are originally concepts from FF3, in which the creator god of that world was named Noah.

That's a cool passage. Do you have any more easily digestible bible trivia for the unenlightened Vauthranon?

isn't there quite a few armor sets that were datamined a while back and have only recently released? i'm sure it'll come out, just, "eventually"

I got my Gae Bolg... MMOs make me feel like such a fricking idiot, the progression never makes sense.
Gae Bolg is from previous FF games, how have you not heard of it? as someone who also recently hit 50-ish in the trial though, I'm glad I found out about the 130 gear before starting that grind for my artifact weapon
relic weapon quests are for aesthetics, if you continue you can make it glow and get new glow colors / models

Does anyone queue up for PotD anymore
Solo it, move on the HoH and the newer one.
Can I solo starting from 0 Aetherpool?
Yes, you get upgrades from silver chests as you go
Probably only for 51-60 to level up old jobs
With the chat mode in Say, enter any phrase containing “dream bigger” to activate the dream maker.
Why did you do this to me?
what happened to your me?
I was sent to GM jail
I actually saw someone type "dream Black person". He panicked so hard, fortunately I was the only one there to witness it so nothing happened.
>turn off the naughty word filter
>get the vapors when you see naughty words
I hate these gaygits so much.
Quick, Americans are asleep we can talk about the game.
What future content will come from pic related? These guys are insanely busy and they don't do these pictures just for fun, it was to tease for something, what is it?
That theyre cohorts in the same industry out enjoying a meal. Not every one is Kojimbo
Can someone post Captain Haddock's WoL "wow, what an expansion" edit?
