The demon is the most fleshed out, Lich is the most OP similar to Angel once it merges spell book. Trickster is downright broken because it can make enemies kill themselves when you enter combat but it's story and mythic moments are meh aside from expanding the worldwound.

Personally I feel like BG3 exists in some weird grey zone because every single character has no sexual preference, and very few will turn their nose up at polygamy. They made a bunch of all-inclusive sex dolls and nobody with any kind of taste is happy with it. I think from Larian's point of view, there's no "canon" preference for most characters because the player dictates where it goes, but if it never comes up in your run then it's not a problem. It's really bad design, the characters feel less human for it.

BG3 is utterly flat outside of companion interactions, most all of which are designed to be segways into romance and sex. After Act 1 the game nosedives hard and in many ways is just plain unfinished. It was very clearly designed with journalist pandering in mind.

Angel is scrub mode and makes people think being a high tier legend is just a stronger version of a regular character. Aeon and Trickster break the ruleset over their knees.
Don't forget that you can activate them anytime you want after a certain lvl and get increased DC to spell and caster lvl too. Aeon is pretty shitty in the start but gets too strong once it hit late game but that's also true for every path in the game, even Devils
Speaking of Devils, Mephistopheles has to be the hardest boss in this game. fricker literally has tons of HP, can ignore fire immunity and spam hellfire rays, summons 6 gorillion Erinyes and hounds and is Lawful so the _2 to saves of piercing gaze doesn't work on him.

The Pathfinder games aren't written particularly well but I will say no other CRPG in existence makes it feel more rewarding to play a good guy with a capital G. That you can turn your righteousness into a tangible unstoppable force and the game acknowledges it by showing the scheming smug demons witches and other cretins recoil in terror and confusion at their carefully laid keikaku crumbling before you is an experience I have never seen in any other RPG, to lead a repentant succubus down a path to where she gets an entirely new fricking physical body that never took dick, and the goddess of good and justice and her angels being in awe of you, there's no other game like it, that's why the predominantly shoddy writing and some of these awful companions are so frustrating.

Yes, Legend is really fun if you combine tow full BAB martial class together. the best synergy is 20 Demonslayer/20 reformed fiend to do absurd amount of damage against Demons.
Your mileage may vary. For me, it was my first playthrough and every time someone posts that image I get chills again, because it doesn't even begin to describe how hype it felt all the way through. You don't even need to play evil before the twist, as there are no evil options forced upon you and you can even roleplay the "fighting fire with fire, but is slowly consuming me" angle. You may lose a few quests in Act 4 if you want to stay good, but they are worthless for this path.

There is a Devil route but it's really bad. Best you can do is Lich. I really liked the Lich playthrough, both flavorwise and mechanically it's one of the stronger paths if you pick a class that can merge spellbook, basically any full arcane caster like Wizard, Sorcerer, Arcanist or Witch.

They always seemed cartoonishly evil to me. Much like LG is cartoonishly good, but without the saving grace of being lawful. CE might burn down a village for no good reason, while a NE Lich might do so for a clear, discernible goal - to gain power. He'd just ignore it if it gave him no benefits.

I gave up on BG3 around the beginning of act 2 once I realised I can't have Karlach and Minthara in the same party (Dammon doesn't show up for me). I think it's great, it really feels like a DA 2 game we all deserved, but it's just too buggy/unfinished in its current state. I also found out the truth about the Guardian/Dream Visitor and I want to change her appearance because her current one really doesn't mesh well with my roleplay - but there's no option to do that. Even mods don't work.

Inquisitor because it's bane stacks with Aeon. Alternatively you can go 18 shadow shaman with battle+nature spirit for some self buffs, a pet, sneak attack, some fighter weapon feats and small extra bane attack. Only dip hellknight if you want to rp or have sufficient CHA for the extra attack bonus

Enough people get filtered as it is, can you imagine if enemies reliably targeted squishy backliners, let alone anything more complicated? I only see that kind of behavior on occasion so I know owlkek can do it but for the most part they turn it off.
The game only lets you pick an alignment one step away from your chosen path's alignment, so no, demon can't be any good, only CN or TN
Not like it matters, the game is not going to stop you from picking good dialogue options
It won't, you can pick what you want, eventually you'll get a quest that forces you to move your alignment closer to your mythic paths, if you don't the mythic questline simply stops
But frankly you're giving alignment way too much importance, it's ultimately irrelevant unless you want to specifically play a class that requires certain alignment like monk or paladin

You can buy scrolls of freedom of movement from the fey outside, and you can use them from the menu without even having to see the animation. You should be filthy rich by now as well.

Pathfinder as a setting is just really flimsy and owned by a disgusting group, I'd rather Owlcat homebrewed their own setting.
Being uninformed on the finer points, both Golarion and Faerun seem much the same. What it comes down to is needing writers that love what they do, not what they push. If that makes sense.
As someone who only has played DoS II but enjoyed it, should I give the pathfinders a go? Which one should I start first and are the DLCs of the WotR worth it or should I get the plain game only?
Pathfinder is different gameplay wise so its hard to say. I'd honestly look up some gameplay to see if its for you. That being said, if you do find it interesting, it'll probably be hard to go back to Kingmaker if you do WotR due to QoL changes, though I think both are really good.
For Kingmaker just buy the complete edition that comes with DLC when it's on sale. For Wrath it's kind of up to you the only DLC's that involve the main campaign are the Megadungeon and the Companion/Class DLC the remaining ones are preference based. If you get Excess then run through it once to get a unique 1/day ability and a bunch of the unique items from it get ported to various shopkeepers in the late game of regular play. Ashes is scrub mode for people that enjoy scrub mode you make a 15 point buy character and play as one of the civilian survivors of act 1 trying to get to the main campaign home base.
Asking if something is worth it is not always about money. Some things aren't worth your time even if they are free. Anyways, I wouldn't mind buying a key for achievements, steam cloud saves and such, if the main game was a full experience, but if, say, 50% of the content is locked behind DLCs that cost four times as much as the main game and waiting for sales for a possible better deal, I might as well skip all that.

I'm playing Kingmaker right now and the only DLC that has positively impacted my experience has been the one that adds the tiefling companion and the depths adding an extra dungeon you can mess around with during down time in the story.
However without them, the game still feels like a complete experience.

The demon is the most fleshed out, Lich is the most OP similar to Angel once it merges spell book. Trickster is downright broken because it can make enemies kill themselves when you enter combat but it's story and mythic moments are meh aside from expanding the worldwound.

Personally I feel like BG3 exists in some weird grey zone because every single character has no sexual preference, and very few will turn their nose up at polygamy. They made a bunch of all-inclusive sex dolls and nobody with any kind of taste is happy with it. I think from Larian's point of view, there's no "canon" preference for most characters because the player dictates where it goes, but if it never comes up in your run then it's not a problem. It's really bad design, the characters feel less human for it.

Angel is scrub mode and makes people think being a high tier legend is just a stronger version of a regular character. Aeon and Trickster break the ruleset over their knees.
Don't forget that you can activate them anytime you want after a certain lvl and get increased DC to spell and caster lvl too. Aeon is pretty shitty in the start but gets too strong once it hit late game but that's also true for every path in the game, even Devils

The Pathfinder games aren't written particularly well but I will say no other CRPG in existence makes it feel more rewarding to play a good guy with a capital G. That you can turn your righteousness into a tangible unstoppable force and the game acknowledges it by showing the scheming smug demons witches and other cretins recoil in terror and confusion at their carefully laid keikaku crumbling before you is an experience I have never seen in any other RPG, to lead a repentant succubus down a path to where she gets an entirely new fricking physical body that never took dick, and the goddess of good and justice and her angels being in awe of you, there's no other game like it, that's why the predominantly shoddy writing and some of these awful companions are so frustrating.

Legend is the biggest power fantasy path in a game full of power fantasies. It's fantastic.
Your mileage may vary. For me, it was my first playthrough and every time someone posts that image I get chills again, because it doesn't even begin to describe how hype it felt all the way through. You don't even need to play evil before the twist, as there are no evil options forced upon you and you can even roleplay the "fighting fire with fire, but is slowly consuming me" angle. You may lose a few quests in Act 4 if you want to stay good, but they are worthless for this path.

There is a Devil route but it's really bad. Best you can do is Lich. I really liked the Lich playthrough, both flavorwise and mechanically it's one of the stronger paths if you pick a class that can merge spellbook, basically any full arcane caster like Wizard, Sorcerer, Arcanist or Witch.
LE is gimped and Aeon is very LN and sometimes can get LE and the best experience is either Angel Oracle or a demon->legend while romancing Arue.

Oh, it's very autistic. It manages to tickle my build autism, exploration autism and traps autism. Combat is fantastic and probably my all-time favourite in a CRPG, I enjoyed it even more than D:OS. Writing is ok, nothing special.
I gave up on BG3 around the beginning of act 2 once I realised I can't have Karlach and Minthara in the same party (Dammon doesn't show up for me). I think it's great, it really feels like a DA 2 game we all deserved, but it's just too buggy/unfinished in its current state. I also found out the truth about the Guardian/Dream Visitor and I want to change her appearance because her current one really doesn't mesh well with my roleplay - but there's no option to do that. Even mods don't work.

Most of the time it's just abusing the AI and running two people with it on first so that they're the only ones attacked. Just feels like I'm abusing the lack of AI instead of feeling like I'm outsmarting anything.

The game only lets you pick an alignment one step away from your chosen path's alignment, so no, demon can't be any good, only CN or TN

It won't, you can pick what you want, eventually you'll get a quest that forces you to move your alignment closer to your mythic paths, if you don't the mythic questline simply stops
But frankly you're giving alignment way too much importance, it's ultimately irrelevant unless you want to specifically play a class that requires certain alignment like monk or paladin

I don't think I've ever seen a game pull this shit.
It's very annoying but it's not that bad outside of the one encounter, and the hidden path to where a key item is. Id you just experiment with the lamp you'll find the path eventually. The one encounter was fricking awful however.
You can buy scrolls of freedom of movement from the fey outside, and you can use them from the menu without even having to see the animation. You should be filthy rich by now as well.
my main party got killed except 1 member because I actually roleplayed as Evil and didn't play the entire game with a wiki open in my browser when doing companion quests

As someone who only has played DoS II but enjoyed it, should I give the pathfinders a go? Which one should I start first and are the DLCs of the WotR worth it or should I get the plain game only?
Pathfinder is different gameplay wise so its hard to say. I'd honestly look up some gameplay to see if its for you. That being said, if you do find it interesting, it'll probably be hard to go back to Kingmaker if you do WotR due to QoL changes, though I think both are really good.

For Kingmaker just buy the complete edition that comes with DLC when it's on sale. For Wrath it's kind of up to you the only DLC's that involve the main campaign are the Megadungeon and the Companion/Class DLC the remaining ones are preference based. If you get Excess then run through it once to get a unique 1/day ability and a bunch of the unique items from it get ported to various shopkeepers in the late game of regular play. Ashes is scrub mode for people that enjoy scrub mode you make a 15 point buy character and play as one of the civilian survivors of act 1 trying to get to the main campaign home base.

Asking if something is worth it is not always about money. Some things aren't worth your time even if they are free. Anyways, I wouldn't mind buying a key for achievements, steam cloud saves and such, if the main game was a full experience, but if, say, 50% of the content is locked behind DLCs that cost four times as much as the main game and waiting for sales for a possible better deal, I might as well skip all that.
I'm playing Kingmaker right now and the only DLC that has positively impacted my experience has been the one that adds the tiefling companion and the depths adding an extra dungeon you can mess around with during down time in the story.
However without them, the game still feels like a complete experience.
