Amaterasu didn't "officially" show up, there was no actual snake battle that mattered, there was no damsel in distress with a multi head snake sacrifice, nothing. You might as well have not been Susano-o. In the new route everything got fixed. Literally all of it. In the law end you are Susano-o and it ends exactly as it should. Susano-o saved his snake sacrifice companion, Amaterasu takes her place in heaven, and you both rule the world together just as it should be. It's all there. They did it right and I'm taking it. I only remember that conversation with all the bethel branches, when you first get back to Tokyo, and maybe the school shooter bit really having any sort of lore to it. Hell, all of that still feels like less lore than what the fiend dlc gave.

they're parallel stories, you dont need to place creation to understand vengeance. vengeance is the one with more budget and work put into, play vengeance.
Play Vengeance then. Its has an actual story. The only reason anons here tells you to play the original first is because you will get a super boss if you play a very specific route in the original. But the original story is subpar at best. Vengeance is meant to give a better story and leave you with a better impression.
canon of creation, the difference in performance is VERY large. plus they added a lot of qol features to the creation route as well. Also whenever you have the itch to replay SMT, you can check out the vengeance route whichi is more of a supplementary route to Canon of creation,

How do i deal with Nuwa? My Nahobino has res to force, every demon i use has agi/maragi and i even have pyro jack with his special Agilao. I'm at level 20 with 3 turns of 8 agis and she still doesn't go down. Also clay somehow destroys my whole party even fi Nahobino has a shield on force
use force dampeners whenever she's about to use her magatsuhi. she's a scripted boss, you just need to get her to half hp before she leaves.

In my defense I thought he was like a level 12 boss from my memory and used Magatsuhi spam a lot more IE easily countered by just working around weaknesses, but it was mostly just a funny moment for me anyway. Forgot about the part where he just goes tard rage on you so I immediately bursted his health down to the phase change and then he killed every demon at once.
use yer sukundas and tarundas and try to keep your team alive, life stone chains were a big help but i dont think you can buy them.
I killed him in 3 turns on hard and my Nahobino is 100% vitality. Hydra got to use a regular attack once.

All Vit hits about as hard as the average demon in the early game but with way more bulk. Stat gaps in offenses are too small for it to matter compared to just using stronger moves.

It seems the same to me except there’s more graphical options like enabling or disabling ambient occlusion and anti aliasing. And the menus are smoother and more responsive. I think it also loads faster.
I tested on ryujinx and it seems to be better than base game but I'm now noticing pop in. Menu is definitely a lot faster and without the weird lags.

If your party does not look like this, make it look like this. This game is designed around you taking 8 turns pretty much all the time minus the random miss or dodge you cannot control. You can freely change party order at any time in the menu, agility in this game does nothing. This formation never changes, if you're using a cheese strat then 3 attackers 1 support is the limit never go full attack or full support you full moron.

It's one of the story bosses? Maybe time to change affinities of MC, fuse new demons, do the side quests, use all of the consumables ALL OF THEM never hoard for later unless it's a soma or a gospel.
Grinding should be last resort but sometimes going up 1 level maybe worth it, if you need to grind more than 1 level it's time to rethink strategy.
Ignore this poster. Use only the cute or cool demons regardless of their role and affinities. Hoard all your items incase you need them later. Killing punishing foes is something you should aim for because you don't want to be a coward who looks like a b***h in front of his bros. Never do sidequests that aren't cool or for loser demons, just grind levels instead.

5 hours into hard mode and enemies don’t take a million hits and drain my MP after two battles anymore. The scaling seems far more lenient. And from what I gather the only thing in Canon of Vengeance locked behind Creation is the new super boss. There’s also one in Creation that’s locked behind Vengeance too.

There is a miracle from the giant orb flag things that lets you permanently change your resistance to that of an essence, it gets consumed but all essences are unlimited
Just use an essence to change bino’s affinities as needed. Essences are very disposable and fall off in utility quick. Don’t horde them.

Taunt is a very underrated skill, just slap proper affinities on MC, taunt, and watch how Nuwa tries to Zanma+7 you for the entire fight and lose her turns.

There is a lot of stuff that makes it easier now. Aside from the new demons with unique skills(most of which are pretty good), there are innate skills which can be huge, and also essentially a free 12 levels from Aogami just for beating the first area. I'm a little into the second area(A bit before Fionn) and already my stats are much higher than in regular V.
It being harder than Persona is pretty much the only tick SMT's need

if you hit an enemy with aggro then i think the agility stat determinates whether the enemy hits first or you
If enemy has spotted you you're just rolling rng on who goes first, the trick is letting them attack you on overworld but dodging and then attacking them as they respawn then you will go first guaranteed.

I have not much experience with SMT but does this have that mechanic that you have to hold back in boss fights or the boss ai will go apeshit and just spam broken shit till you die? I never enjoyed this shit.
It does not but bosses have reactive AI for targeting weaknesses. So for instance, coming to Demifiend with all reflect phys is actually much more dangerous than coming with one reflect and 3 resists because he'll swap over to Freikugel as his default attack.
He should use Freikugel by default all the time, but I guess that would've been too hard?
Freikugel is actually weaker than Deadly Fury. The problem is that with phys resist you can cut Deadly Fury's damage by half which makes it safer than Freikugel that always hits for full. But you need at least one Reflect/null/absorb or he'll spam Javelin Rain which is the worst one of all.
One anon told me that the bosses don't go all out because they are arrogant, which allows the protagonist to kill them for underestimating them. Is this actually true or complete bullshit because it's actually kind of a cool reason.

I mean its in line with a lot of characters like Shiva. Zeus certainly is holding back the first time you fight him in Creation before he goes all out on the rematch.
Not saying it can never happen but most bosses are threshold based so for example hydra will only use toxic breath in "phase 1" but if hydra's charged and you push it to "phase 2" it'll switch to using frenzy which is bad for you.
But most of the time pushing the boss too hard works in your advantage, the AI can glitch out if it cannot go into the charge phase for 2 turns in a row and boss can decide to just forfeit its entire turn by charging up on their first move.
There maybe exceptions with postgame, superbosses or DLC fights that are heavily gimmick based but that's normal for atlus games.
Only in the sense that if you use a demon who's immune to too many damage types, they'll sometimes use bullshit almighty moves. For that reason resistances tend to be better for super bosses.

It made no sense in a lot of cases especially in IV, special fusions already cover the evolutions that do make sense. It was added purely to chase Pokemon, SMT doesn't need that shit.

Why the frick do tendies keep saying that the game runs at a stable 30 fps? The only time the game is a stable 30 is at the fricking overworld map. In the field it's always somewhere below 30fps and sometimes into the low 20s or even lower in some cutscenes.

Google timezones, anon. It's currently Sunday morning for a lot of people and the game has been out for like 50+ hours now. A lot of people playing this game have already beaten it before and will just be speeding though it as well.
I like playing games slowly and I have never beaten it, so I'm taking my time. The Switch version was shit, so I dropped it after the first zone because it was very blurry and ran poorly. I tried emulating it but the emulated version wasn't much better, sure you could get 60 FPS but it still wasn't amazing. Now that we have an actual PC version, I can enjoy the game in the manner that it should have been released in to begin with.

The difference between 60 and 120 is massive.
I downscale from 4k to 1440p and I get only 134 frames, so I started downscaling from 1800p instead to get a steady 144hz and let my GPU rest for a bit. I can probably easily got to 165Hz which is my monitor's max.
I have a 165hz refresh rate monitor and can also get 144FPS in the game, but my overall point is that I see no reason to play at that FPS or why they even offer it, and why people brag about it when the difference can't even be seen. You could play at 120 FPS down from 144 FPS and nothing would happen.

Not an argument as far as technical prowess goes.
It depends on how sentitive your eyes are, some people can't play FPS games because it gives them motion sickness and some others can't handle motion blur at all.
It's the same with 144, 200, etc. if you can't see the difference then good for you, but if you can and it makes your eyes feel better then you should aim for higher refresh rates. Some people even claim that they can't see the difference between 60 and 120.
I PERSONALLY don't think I can see the difference between 60 FPS and 120 FPS, or it varies from game to game. As long as I can get 60 FPS in the game then I'm satisfied, but A LOT of GAYMERS need 120 FPS or more and claim they can't go back to 60 FPS after gaming in 120 FPS. I will admit at times that some games will be running at 60 FPS, but they don't feel and look like they are, so in that case I guess turning it up to 120 FPS would give me the more fluid/smooth animation I'm looking for.
This game is absolutely fricking amazing. It's even better than the original. It is the first Atlus remake that is better than original.

Both Yoko and Tao leave and rejoin multiple times, and you don't even have to think about leveling them just leave them in your stock unless you're actively using them for the current part.

Debuffs are fine. Buffs work based on stats, and your stats early on won't be nearly big enough to make buffs worthwhile until much later.
In the original release I only bothered with buffs when I got Luster Candy.
They're worth using at all points but they're hard to maintain early, especially buffs. I would only focus on debuffs until you get multi target buff spells.
No, Komori is just from a series where buff/debuff management matters instead of the brain dead shit in previous games. Debuffs are good all game and they can stack to 2 ranks. Tarukaja until you unlock the aoe ones and only on your main attacker.

Demifiend is kind of a loser honestly. He's hyped up in the fanbase, but his feats are pretty low tier if you think about it. Like all he did was beat a lackey of YHVH and convince Lucifer that he's a good little boy.

Kagutsutchi was obviously a very strong entity and I was being purposefully disingenuous on both points, but there's no indication it was actually YHVH at all iirc.
Given how divinity works across a crapload of mythologies and occultism, and how kagutsuchi is designed sort of like a hologram while having YHVH's face, I think the intention is that he's a direct aspect of YHVH.

Nocturne is when they started getting fricky with the lore since it was a soft reboot that they retconned into being part of a multiverse with the Maniax release. YHVH and Kagutsuchi are both avatars of the Divine Will, which is the very concept of Law itself. Kagutsuchi is canonically the same "power level" as YHVH.

I keep seeing people say that it doesn't matter how you build beano. Is strength or magic better in any case and do you get enough glory to spend willy nilly on miracles or should you sort of wait and plan?
Magic is better early Strength is better later but neither is useless at any point.
I'm gonna do magic the first half, respec to strength.
you can get an item that will respec your stat points and Glory is infinitely farmable through mitama's that drop glory crystals, but to save you time it's probably better to have some kind of idea of what you want to do.
There's a respec item now (don't know how to get it tho) so don't be too worried about what you spec into. I would say that Mag is better than Str during early-mid game due to its versatility but Str is significantly stronger afterwards due to very strong skills and passives. As for miracles, in the original I don't think you could get all of them in one run but you were able to with NG+. Vengeance does seem to give you more glory with some additional areas so who knows if you can get them all now or not.
Where the hell is Turbo Granny? I picked up her essence a while ago, but I haven't encountered her and can't fuse her.
Dunno how soon it's actually unlocked, but after I got a side quest in the Fairy Village and I went back to Tokyo, there was an NPC on the map that started another side quest that unlocked Turbo Granny for fusion.

If you want them all to track to the same save file and get a full compendium completion, yes.
As far as the Achievements go, you should be able to make a save before the final alignment lock in both routes and play from there. You wouldn't be able to keep demon unlocks like Danu/Maria/Inanna and you'd still have to go all the way through CoC and CoV at least once.
Even more telling is the fact that the achievement for having all achievements, has 4% more people having it than two achievements below it.
Play Strange Journey. No matter what anyone tells you, just play the Redux version. It has more content than the original but worse art direction
I really hope more JRPGs keep going in this direction with more open exploration and actual jumping and enemies on field. Add in some positioning for fights and tools for field exploration/puzzles and they'll all be perfect.
